Utilizing a variety of streaming services and some purchased films, Jonathan and Corey will visit a variety of locations through the windows that are movies. Starting with this episode, Movie Club is going to be bi-weekly most of the time. The general idea is the same, each week Jonathan (@berkreviews) or Corey (@coreyrstarr) chooses a movie that they have not previously seen, or at least not for many years. The movies are pulled from a series theme to help narrow down the choices. They get together on the show to discuss their thoughts on the film from its history to the overall production. The series will always be at least three movies and usually go to five or six with Jonathan and Corey alternating picks. In between series, a one-off episode of Mint in Box, movies that they own but haven't seen, or Now Streaming, movies currently on a streaming service they subscribe to, will be used as a palate cleanser. On occasion, the show may have interviews or guests to discuss movies, movie news, or some movie-related topics. July 2021 is all about the biographies. Well, at least fictionalized biographies are lovingly referred to as biopics. Jonathan (@berkreviews) and Corey (@coreyrstarr) explore some famous individuals' stories through their favorite medium; cinema. This was a hard topic to narrow down just the five movies they are going to review this month as there are many big ones on their gap lists, but many of these are really long! As far as the podcast goes, each episode features an in-depth review of the movie for the week. They begin with a spoiler-free review before diving in completely after the needed spoiler warning. However, before getting into the review of the week, Jonathan and Corey discuss what other movies they've seen since the last episode as well as anything else they feel like discussing. To help them decide which of the many films to watch each month they started creating themes for them all. Week 3 - Bronson (2008) Plot Synopsis: A young man who was sentenced to seven years in prison for robbing a post office ends up spending three decades in solitary confinement. During this time, his own personality is supplanted by his alter-ego, Charles Bronson. Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn Cast: Tom Hardy Kelly Adams Luing Andrews Katy Barker Gordon Brown --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/berkreviewsmovieclub/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/berkreviewsmovieclub/support
