Und was können die Bauern selbst gegen den Klimawandel unternehmen? Ernst Wandfluh ist zu Gast bei Simone Hulliger. Die Trockenheit setzt den Bäuerinnen und Bauern auf den Alpen und im Flachland stark zu. Wandfluh fordert Massnahmen zur Unterstützung der Bauernschaft, denn die Landwirtschaft befinde sich in einer Notsituation. Fühlt er sich von seiner Partei, der SVP genügend unterstützt? Wo ist er nicht einig mit dem Umweltminister Albert Rösti? Und wo sind die Bäuerinnen und Bauern bereit, Massnahmen gegen den Klimawandel zu unterstützen? Die Schweiz erlebt gerade die vierte Hitzewelle diesen Sommer. In mehreren Städten kratzten die Temperaturen an 40 Grad. Seen und Flüsse sind zu warm, die Pegel zu tief. Den Kühen auf der Alp geht das Wasser aus, jene im Tal leiden unter Fieber und Durchfall. Und die Menschen schwitzen, lüften – und kaufen so viele Ventilatoren und Klimaanlagen wie noch nie. Diesen Sommer wird (wieder) klar: Die Hitzewellen haben auch eine politische Seite. Die Bauern verlangen Unterstützung vom Bundesrat, die Grünen wollen Albert Rösti das Umweltdepartement entziehen. Trotzdem warnt er vor Übertreibungen: Bei 35 Grad müsse man nicht gleich Katastrophenszenarien ausrufen, sagt er im Tagesgespräch. Bundesrat Rösti bestätigt den Zusammenhang zwischen der aktuellen Hitzewelle und dem Klimawandel. Er betont die Notwendigkeit von Anpassungsmassnahmen wie mehr Grünflächen in Städten und warnt vor Gefahren für vulnerable Personen. Vor einem Jahr haben sich oberhalb von Blatten im Lötschental mehrere Millionen Kubikmeter Geröll, Eis und Schlamm gelöst. Das Dorf wurde am 28. Mai 2025 verschüttet. Ein Mann kam dabei ums Leben. Ein Jahr später ist der Wille, Blatten wieder aufzubauen, ungebrochen. Ab 2029 soll es möglich sein, wieder in Blatten zu wohnen. Doch der Wiederaufbau ist kompliziert. Der Raum im Tal ist begrenzt, Naturgefahren setzen enge Grenzen. Gleichzeitig stellt sich die Frage, wie das noch vorhandene Bauland nun aufgeteilt wird. Zudem ist unklar, wie viele Menschen überhaupt nach Blatten zurückwollen: Manche Familien wollen zurückkehren. Andere sind bereits weggezogen. Wie geht es den Menschen heute? Was gibt ihnen Kraft? Und was lässt sie noch immer verzweifeln? Reporter Cyrill Pinto ist ins Lötschental gereist und hat mit jenen gesprochen, die vor einem Jahr ihr Zuhause verloren haben. Unter anderem mit Gemeindepräsident Matthias Bellwald, der seit einem Jahr für ein neues Blatten kämpft. In der neusten Folge des täglichen Podcasts «Apropos» erzählt er von seinem Besuch.
