Boston Celtics Game Day Recap

The Celtics come up with a great 111-107 win over the Magic and this one was fueled by the excellent play of our bench. The Player of the Game in my eyes in Luka Garza who ended the night with 16pts 8reb 3ast and a steal and came up huge down the stretch of this game but also helped fuel a 13-0 run mid fourth to give the Celtics an 11pt lead. Anfernee Simons added 25pts in this one all of which came in the first half and he single handedly not only kept us in the game but got us the lead in the second quarter. Jordan Walsh was also incredible adding 6pts 6reb 4ast and 2stl including some huge plays down the stretch including a dagger 3 to go up 110-105 with 12 seconds left so very impactful performance from him.JB continued playing at a high level with 27pts in this one and we got a really good 4th quarter from Derrick White as part of his 21pt 3stl game. White was a true menace on the defensive side all night alongside Jordan Walsh and Hugo Gonzalez. This wasn't a perfect game but it felt damn good after the last couple from this team! The Celtics fall to the Magic 123-110 in an ugly game both offensively and defensively. Pritchard and JB both contributed a lot offensively scoring 32pts and 27pts respectively but they didn't get a whole lot from others and JB didn't really contribute in the 4th quarter either. The bright spot in todays game was the fact that it seems like Pritchard has broken out of his shooting slump so if that continues and White can also break out of his, the Celtics might be in a better spot.With all that being said, the Celtics gave up 17 3pt makes to a team that averages 10.4 and 31 FT attempts to a team that averages 24 so the Magic were really bullying the Celtics in this one. The Celtics blew the doors off of the Wizards 136-107 behind monster performances from JB and Minott! JB led the way with 35pts 5reb and 5ast and started this game red hot scoring on 16 of the teams first 20pts and never seemed to slow down! Minott scored a career high 21pts tonight and was a menace defensively in his most aggressive game of the year. Pritchard scored 16 of his 18 points during their huge 2nd quarter run and Queta added a beautiful 15pt 12reb 5ast game. This is by far the best a big has played for the Celtics all season long. It was certainly an ugly first quarter but the Celtics cleaned up all of their mistakes and played a near flawless 3 quarters after it. The Celtics fall to the Jazz 105-103 and the final play perfectly exemplified tonight's game. Nurkic gets an offensive rebound and putback to take the lead with .6 seconds left. The Celtics wasted yet another excellent game from JB who ended the night with 36pts. This game was a nail biter down the stretch and the Celtics did get screwed a bit with a no call on a play where JB was so blatantly tripped it's almost laughable but that was far from the reason they lost this game. While White and Pritchard did (sort of) break out of their shooting slumps shooting 37.5% and 36.4% from 3 respectively, which is far better than where they have been this season, the Celtics ended the night shooting just 41% from the field and 21% from 3 and allowed 15 offensive rebounds in this game. I don't care how good JB played, it is going to be very hard to win any games like that. The only reason it was close is because of how bad the Jazz are lol. Well I didn't have high expectations for this game but it went worse than I was expecting lol. The Celtics lose to the Rockets 128-101!!! It was the second night of a back to back and this is an extremely athletic, big and very good Rockets team. With all that said, they killed us on the boards and shot lights out and this game was basically over mid third. So much so that none of the starters played at all in the 4th quarter outside of Minott who is still kind of in”prove-it mode”. Honestly there aren't a lot of great individual performances in this one but it was great seeing Minott's energy and continued success. It was also super encouraging seeing Baylor finally get into a rhythm. He ended the night leading the team in scoring with 17 points. The Celtics beat the 76ers 109-108 in a Halloween bloodbath! The Celtics led by as many as 24 in this game and certainly struggled to score down the stretch after a scorching hot start. The scored 68pts in the first half shooting 56% from the field and 42% from 3 and those numbers plummeted to just 41pts on 32% from the field and 20% from 3 in the 2nd half. The late game execution was less than ideal especially in the last 30 seconds including some missed free throws and a disjointed inbounds play at the end but the Celtics pulled off a huge win!Jaylen Brown led the way once again with 32pts on 68% shooting and 57% from 3 adding to his insanely efficient start to this season!! Outside of JB, the Celtics got solid contributions across the board including 15pts from both White and Pritchard. Although their 3pt shooting was horrible once again in this game, they impacted the game all over the place. Minott had a huge impact on the boards and Simons helped a ton with his 19pts off the bench. This was a great team win with contributions up and down the roster! The Celtics secured a 125-108 victory over the Cavaliers overcoming a hot-shooting start by the Cavs. Cleveland was lights-out from beyond the arc in the first quarter, going 10-for-12 on three-pointers, which helped them hold a slight 42-40 lead despite Boston shooting 56% from the field. The momentum shifted dramatically in the second quarter when the Celtics closed the half on a decisive 20-3 run. This dominant stretch gave Boston a 75-60 lead at the break, fueled by 50% shooting from three, 53% overall from the field, and a strong passing game with 20 assists on 26 made field goals. Crucially, the Celtics controlled the paint, outrebounding the Cavs 22-13 and limiting them to only two offensive rebounds in the first half.The Celtics maintained control through the second half, leading 98-85 after the third quarter. JB was a scoring force, finishing the first half with 22 points, including an insanely deep 3 to close out the second quarter, and reaching 28 points by the end of the third. Derrick White provided key buckets and ended the game with 19 points, while Sam Hauser knocked down seven three-pointers to contribute 21 points. The team's strong play continued into the fourth where the Celtics won another quarter 27-20! The Celtics end their losing skid with a 122-90 win over the Pelicans. After losing 3 straight primarily because of rebounding issues, the Celtics come out and really put a stranglehold on the boards out rebounding the Pelicans 54-35!They still gave up 11 offensive rebounds but this was a much better effort on the glass and one that is certainly encouraging given how poorly they have looked thus far. Anfernee Simons led the way scoring wise with 25pts and hit some huge shots in this one down the stretch. Offense rebounding did let the Pelicans widdle down the lead to just 5 points in the 4th quarter but the Celtics responded with a 20-2 run to really put the Pelicans away. The Celtics fall to the Pistons 119-113 and fall to 0-3 on the season. This was yet another loss that comes because of their rebounding efforts. The final 6 possessions of this game for the Pistons resulted in 5 offensive rebounds and 10 second chance points. If they clean that up, this game is won easily for the Celtics. Coming into this season, I think it was pretty apparent that championship aspirations were off the table based on the quality of roster we have after this offseason but their ceiling is certainly higher than what it is right now. We knew rebounding was going to be an issue but I don't think anyone really knew how big of an issue it was going to be. IF, and I know this is a big if, the Celtics were even a mediocre rebounding team they could be sitting at 2-1 instead of 0-3 right now. It's going to be a long season so strap in! The Boston Celtics' first quarter against the Knicks offered a glimpse of a smooth performance, as the team jumped out to a 30-22 lead with great ball movement and pace. However, the game spiraled into an absolute nightmare in the second quarter. The Knicks dominated with a brutal 42-14 run, fueled by an 11-0 and a 17-0 burst. Boston struggled with turnovers and could not stop the Knicks from scoring 16 fast break points and grabbing 12 offensive rebounds in the first half. This collapse led to a massive 64-44 halftime deficit.   Though the Celtics were unable to mount a full comeback, they showed flashes of resilience in the second half, spurred on by picking up the full-court defense in the fourth quarter. Individually, there were highlights, including big three-pointers from Pritchard that helped stop a Knicks run and another that began to close the gap in the final period. Jaylen Brown hit some tough shots, including an early third-quarter three and a pull-up three late in the fourth. Additionally, Hugo provided a boost with excellent defense and his first NBA bucket. WE ARE BACK!!! AFTER A YEAR LONG HIATUS, BOSTON CELTICS GAME DAY RECAP IS BACK AND SO ARE THE CELTICS!The Celtics dropped their season opener 117-116 to the 76ers in a heartbreaking fashion. After building a 13 pt lead, Philly led by Tyrese Maxey and Rookie Sensation VJ Edgecombe, went on a tear and pulled off a gritty win in Boston. Losing to Philly always hurts but it hurts a bit more when Embiid is a shell of himself. He was truly horrible tonight but Maxey and Edgecombe combined for 74 points!!There were a lot of positives to take from today as well as some negatives. From a positive standpoint, this team is going to be fun to watch. They pushed the pace, got out in transition, rebounded significantly better than I was expecting because of a gang rebounding mentality where they all crash and they still have a good offensive punch. From a negative standpoint, losing an All NBA Defender like Jrue Holiday is going to be a problem against guard heavy lineups like this 76ers team. Their transition defense, although it improved the second half, was horrible in this game leading to 21 pts. Brad Stevens continues to GOAT himself by locking up the entire core for next season highlighted by Jayson Tatum signing his Super Max Extension and Derrick White's 4 year $126Mill hometown discount contract! White opted to sign an extension now instead of testing free agency this year where he could've signed a 5year deal worth up to $237Mill. We now have our top 9 guys all locked up and even got Queta back on a 2 year minimum deal giving a little more depth at the big man position. All eyes are on Xavier Tillman's potential return OR the potential return of another beloved Celtic. The only downside to today's amazing news is that Celtics ownership group and Wyc Grousbeck are planning to sell the franchise. It has been amazing having fans of the Celtics backing the Celtics because they were willing to do what was needed to win. Wow, this game was as miserable as it gets. The Celtics lost 122-84 BUT are still heading back to Boston up 3-1. The way they lost this game left a lot to be desired. The energy wasn't there from the jump. They were outscored 13 in the first, 13 in the second, 6 in the third and 6 in the fourth. It was truly a disgusting game to watch. With that being said, every game counts exactly the same and the Celtics now have 2 days to relax, watch some film and get ready for Game 5. The good news for Celtics fans is that Porzingis was Available in this game under emergency circumstances so I would expect him to play in Game 5. The Boston Celtics beat the Mavericks 106-99 and take a 3-0 series lead and are just 1 win away from Banner 18!!!!! JB continued to push his case for Finals MVP with 30pts 8reb and 8ast on an efficient 12-22 from the field. He came up clutch with 24pts in the 2nd half including 9 of the teams 21pts in the 4th quarter! Tatum started the game really hot but definitely came down in the second half but that is when JB turned it up! Porzingis wasn't able to play tonight BUT we got great minutes from Horford and then Tillman was the big off the bench and he provided huge minutes throughout the game. He also hit a corner 3 that made the bench absolutely erupt. This was a true team win and not necessarily just from a scoring perspective. Everybody had clutch moments throughout the game and you just love to see that. Teams that go up 3-0 in series are undefeated so it is looking up!!! 15 wins down, 1 to go!!! The Celtics beat the Mavs 105-98 and take a 2-0 series lead and are just 2 wins away from Banner 18!!!! Jrue Holiday stepped up big time in this game leading the way 26pts and it seemed like all of his pts came from being in the dunkers spot with easy buckets from Tatum or JB drive and dumps! The biggest play of the night came with the Celtics up 103-98 where Derrick White and JB met PJ Washington at the rim and came up with a huge block and then JB gets a huge bucket to ice the game at 105-98! While Tatum's shooting struggled continued in this game, he was 1reb shy of a triple-double leading the team in rebounds and assists and continues to do what the team needs. The Celtics were able to pull off this game in the clutch with some huge efforts across the board and now all eyes are on Porzingis who went down once again. Mid 4th quarter, he went up for a rebound against PJ Washington and came down awkwardly and started limping before being pulled for the remainder of the game so fingers crossed that isn't anything serious. The NBA Finals is here and so is Kristaps Porzingis!!! The Celtics have not had this big of a boost off the bench in a loooongg time and it led to a 107-89 W in Game 1!!! After his remarks during Media Day, I don't think it was super surprising that KP came off the bench but he looked as fresh as ever and was a major spark off the bench with 20pts 6reb and what should've been 4blks! He only played 21 min in this game but the Celtics felt every bit of it. Outside of him, JB was phenomenal and honestly looked like the best player on the court including Doncic at times. JB was killing it on both ends of the floor and really kept the Celtics firing on all cylinders all night long. What separates the Celtics from the Mavs so far in this series is their ability to switch defensively and actually get contributions from role players. Luka certainly went off and got his but the Mavs ended the game with 9ast which is frankly pathetic lol. The Celtics found themselves down 18pts in this game and mounted an incredible comeback to win 114-111! Tatum led the way scoring wise with 36 but it was Al Horford who stuck out the most to me. He had 23pts on 7-12 from deep and seemed to hit every big shot we needed from him. Holiday certainly struggled from the field for most of this game but had a huge And 1 to go up 112-111 and then a monster steal that led to 2 more FTs to ice the game at 114-111. Our entire starting lineup made big play after big play down the stretch which is good because we got absolutely nothing from our bench. Pritchard, who has been solid, didn't do a whole lot. Hauser has continued his awful stretch of basketball. While Brissett played well in Game 2, he didn't look very good either but credit to Mazzulla for not sticking with him long and giving Tillman some run because he looked solid out there. This was another game the Celtics had no business winning but they found a way and that is the most encouraging part! The Celtics blow out the Pacers 126-110 taking a commanding 2-0 series lead. Jaylen Brown led the way with 40pts and was damn near unstoppable in this game on both sides of the ball. Jrue Holiday played another outstanding game with both Tatum and White playing well in the second half. They were both pretty horrible in the first but they turned on the jets in the 2nd half lol. While JB should be the story of this game, Tyrese Haliburton leaving the game might take some of the headlines. He left in the third quarter and did not return so that is a major question mark come game 3. Funny enough, the Pacers scored more in the 2nd half than they did in the first half with him out there BUT they had to rely on Siakam going off and I don't know how sustainable that is over the long term if Haliburton can't play or not. WOW the Celtics beat the Pacers 133-128 in OT taking a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. This game was as nerve wracking and fun as it gets. The Celtics were down 115-110 with just under 2 minutes to play and forced an OT after JB deflected an inbounds off Siakam giving them the ball down 3 with 8 seconds left. He then went on to hit a ridiculously hard corner 3 tying the game forcing an OT silencing all the haters who keep saying the Celtics can't perform in the clutch. JB deserves a ton of credit for 2 massive plays down the stretch but Holiday may have put together his best game of the postseason for the C's. He was doing everything tonight and Tatum wasn't far off either. Tatum certainly missed his fair share of shots down the stretch but he also came up big in OT with 10 of the Celtics 16pts! This game was far from perfect and hopefully the Celtics learn from this and come out with a greater sense of urgency in Game 2. This game was played without Mitchell, Allen and LeVert for the Cavs and it was probably closer than it should have been BUT it doesn't matter how you win in the playoffs as long as you win! This game was dominated by Al Horford. He had 22pts breaking out of his 3pt slump and hit 6-13 from deep. He also had 15reb, 7 of which were offensive. He dialed back the clock and pulled out a monster performance. With the Celtics back in the Eastern Conference Finals, the only question left is, who will they be playing? Will it be a beat up Knicks team led by superstar Jalen Brunson or the young Indiana Pacers with Nesmith trying to go on a revenge tour? In my opinion, this should be another 5 game series either way regardless of Porzingis playing or not. It sounds like Porzingis could be making a return by then with the series not starting till Sunday or Tuesday of next week depending on when that series wraps up. Either way, lets get it Celtics fam! The Celtics beat the Cavs 109-102 and take a 3-1 series lead giving themselves a chance to close it out on our home court on Wednesday! About an hour before tip, news spread that the Cavs were going to be without Donovan Mitchell and this game did not go the way that Celtics fans were expecting. With that being said, give the Cavs some credit because they put together a solid game without their biggest star. This game was won with great play from Jrue Holiday who made a huge impact on the game on both sides of the ball. It was won because Tatum had a monster first half scoring and JB had a monster second half scoring. It was also won because Mazzulla coached very very well. The Celtics beat the Cavs 106-93 and take a 2-1 series lead! Both of our superstars stepped it up big in this game. JB scored 28pts along with 9reb on an insanely efficient 13-17 from the field. Tatum, although he was less efficient, scored 33pts along with 13reb and 6ast and had a massive footprint in this win. While both of those guys were great, that wouldn't have been enough to beat this Cavs team. That's where Jrue Holiday comes in. This wasn't a great game from White and it was a horrible game from Horford but Holiday was incredible. He scored 18pts on 7-10 from the field and 3-4 from deep. It was huge seeing him step up because he hasn't looked great on the offensive side of the ball this postseason. Defensively, the Celtics did have some issues defending the pick and roll BUT Mazzulla made some adjustments that most people will ignore and changed the matchups and moved the pickup points way higher minimizing those situations in the second half. After a blowout victory in Game 1, the Celtics come out and lay an egg losing 118-94 to the Cavs and the series is now tied 1-1 heading into Cleveland. White went from looking like an All Star to going 1-8 from 3. Tatum and JB were less than efficient in this game as well shooting just 7-17 from the field and JB went 0-6 from beyond the arc. Both of them were aggressive getting downhill which is good to see BUT it got a lot of guys out of rhythm. Defensively, we were horrendous in transition. Not only did we give up 14 transition points, we also didn't hustle back giving the Cavs mismatches which led to more easy buckets. Nobody like the saying "It's a make miss league" but this is a pretty good example of why that saying makes sense. The Celtics, a very good 3pt shooting team, ended the night shooting just 22.9% from 3 and the Cavs, a not so great 3pt shooting team, shot 46%. It certainly wasn't the best game we've seen this year but we are in the same spot we were after Game 2 against Miami. Tied Series against a team with far less talent. The Celtics cruised to a 120-95 win over the Cavs taking a 1-0 series lead. JB and Derrick White were both incredible in this one. In a game with no Porzingis, we also saw some incredible minutes from Kornet which should make Celtics fans feel really good. He was sensational in this game almost single handedly carrying the Celtics offense with a career high 38pts on super efficient shooting splits. The other storyline however wasn't a good one. Kristaps Porzingis left the game with Right Calf Tightness and supposedly left Kaseya Center in a walking boot. He's expected to get it looked at tomorrow and fingers crossed that it isn't too serious as this could be a major hindrance to the end goal of Banner 18. The Celtics destroyed the Heat 104-84 and take back home court advantage. This was one of those hard nose gritty defensive wins that Celtics fans have been clamoring for. After giving up a Heat franchise record 23 made 3pt shots in Game 2, the Celtics held the Heat to just 28 3pt attempts in this one. They made it an emphasis to run the Heat off the 3pt line and it totally threw their offense out of sync. As far as the Celtics offense goes, it was much more balanced than it was in Game 2. The Celtics fall to the Heat 111-101 and this was an ugly one. After blowing out the Heat from beyond the arc last game, the script was flipped and it was the Heat who had a historic shooting night. The Heat went 23-43 from beyond the arc while the Celtics only shot 12-32. Shooting 38% from 3 is perfectly fine but there is no world where the Celtics should only be taking 32 3pt shots with the amount of shooters we have. From an offensive standpoint, JB and Tatum both played well and scored 61 of our 101pts which in theory is good BUT it also means the rest of our team didn't contribute at all. It took until midway through the 4th for White to become the only other Celtics player in double digits. We really needed more from our other guys especially Porzingis. Porzingis is the key to this series and breaking the zone that Miami loves to throw out there and he was 1-9 from the field today. We need more from him. The series is now tied 1-1 heading back to Miami. Time to get that Game 3 W. The Celtics lose to the Knicks 118-109 in another ugly loss. Give credit to the Celtics bench for outscoring the Knicks 38-18 in the 4th and making this seem like a close game but the Knicks led this one by as many as 31pts. It was another ugly performance from this team but they got out of it injury free which seems to be their only focus right now. The Celtics proved all season that they are capable of being the best team in the NBA and despite looking horrible lately, they truly have nothing to play for right now. The Nuggets went 9-10 in their last 19 games last season and won the Finals and they aren't the only champion to coast at the finish line once they have everything wrapped up. The Celtics were absolutely destroyed on the glass in this one giving up 22 offensive rebounds but that is about the only negative you can take from this game. After watching the Celtics bench unit give up an 18pt lead last game before eventually winning it with the Tillman floater, they came out ready to play in this one and actually out scored Portland's starters 31-22 in the 4th quarter which was great to see. The Celtics narrowly escape an 18pt 4th quarter blown lead and win 101-100 because of an Xavier Tillman floater at the end! This was a game that meant absolutely nothing to the Celtics as they already clinched best record in the NBA but meant a lot to the Kings who are battling in play in territory right now. JB and Derrick White both sat out of this game and then we saw Holiday, Horford and Porzingis sit the entire 4th quarter and Tatum was subbed out with 9:24 left. People can complain about blown leads all you want but the Celtics waived the white flag and didn't play a single guy in their top 6 down the stretch so an entire bench lineup was out there against the Kings starters. I'm sure blowing an 18pt lead isn't the confidence boost that the Celtics bench needed BUT winning on a last second bucket probably shifts that! It's not the prettiest of wins but it is always nice to give the bench some run this late in the season! The Celtics beat the Thunder 135-100 improving to 60-16 on the season and have officially clinched the Top Seed in the NBA with 6 games remaining!! We saw an absolutely dominating performance from Porzingis from start to finish which was great to see. It was by far his best performance since returning from his injury. Tatum was great throughout this one too. JB really struggled through the first 3 quarters but was an absolute assassin in the 4th quarter and helped the Celtics to a 42-17 quarter ballooning this lead all the way up to 35. We saw Mazzulla really experimenting tonight and treating this like a practice which was great to see especially in a blowout win over one of the leagues best teams. We saw a couple different zones and a lot of offensive sets down the stretch so it's nice to see them still trying things to improve. It's certainly going to lead to a good film session prior to the playoffs! The Celtics beat the Hornets 118-104 and improve to 59-16 on the season!! The flamethrower Sam Hauser had 25 pts in this win on 7-11 from deep and was a catalyst off the bench but he wasn't alone. Tatum also had 25pts and we saw really strong performances from Horford, Porzingis and White as well. The Celtics didn't shoot particularly well from beyond the arc at just 35% but they defended at a really high level in quarters 2-4. They did start slow out of the gate with no Jaylen Brown in this one who is typically the catalyst in the first quarter. Once they settled in, they really did a good job defending which led to easier buckets on offense. The Celtics beat the Pelicans 104-92 and snap their 2 game losing skid. The Celtics came out of the gates sluggish and were outscored 37-28 in the first quarter. They allowed 9pts off their 4 turnovers and 10 fast break pts in that first quarter. The Celtics clamped down after that though and outscored the Pelicans 31-20 in the second and 24-11 in the third building up a 22pt lead that they coasted to the finish line with. It wasn't a perfect game but it is certainly a game you should be happy about after the two brutal losses in Atlanta. They made adjustments and played an unbelievable 3 quarters of defensive basketball. JB did an excellent job of defending Zion and Porzingis arguably had his best game defending at the rim which is nice to see with him slowly getting back to game form after missing some time! The Celtics lose to the Hawks 123-122 in OT... Dejounte Murray scored 44pts in this game but despite what those numbers might say, his shooting splits were horrible, he just happened to take 44 shots lol. The Celtics played pretty well on the offensive end but they lost this game on the glass. They gave up 17 offensive rebounds that led to what felt like a million second chance pts. The Celtics have been one of the best defensive rebounding % teams in the NBA so this isn't something to necessarily be concerned about but it definitely is frustrating. One thing that some Celtics fans have complained about is late game execution and this was another game where we did see Tatum with his signature side step 3 that most people hate seeing at the end of the game. That is maddening to me BUT they did change that in OT. At the end of regulation, it looked like JB had position on Hunter in the post but that isn't where the inbounds pass went. Well it went there to Porzingis in OT and it led to a huge midrange from JB that could've been a game winner had Murray not hit a massive shot afterwards. It's a tough loss but we're on to the next. The Celtics had a meltdown of epic proportions tonight against the Hawks. The Hawks managed to climb back from down 30 to win 120-118. Holiday and White were both out so we went with a huge lineup starting Horford and Hauser in their place and they came out firing on all cylinders. They were 5-7 from 3 and built a ridiculous 44-22 lead after the first quarter. They continued to play well for about 6 minutes bringing that lead up to 30 which felt great. They they got cute. They started walking the ball up and reverted to iso ball. They had 17 assists in the first half and ended the game with just 21. Tatum finally got his 8 second violation that he has been flirting with all year in the 4th quarter as well. It's a horrible loss but I wouldn't read into it much as this has not been a huge issue through most of this year. Horford and Kornet were a lethal front court both having unbelievably good nights. Then Hauser and Pritchard were a lethal backcourt. We still saw Tatum take over down the stretch and White hit some huge shots in the fourth as well but those 4 guys that are your typical rotational bench guys stepped up huge and pulled this win out. The Celtics beat the Pistons 129-102 on another incredible performance from JB and Pritchard! JB ended the night with 33pts on 13-19 from the field and Pritchard added 20pts 9ast. While both of those guys were great we also got a couple of other solid performances from the team. White came up just 2reb shy of another triple double with 19pts 8reb and 11ast. Porzingis had a nice bounce back game adding 19pts as well. After missing the last couple, Hauser also was 4-11 from 3 which was nice to see. Overall, the Celtics moved the ball really well tallying 31ast on the night and they played defense at an extremely high level. It was another game that wasn't perfect but it was pretty close to it! Derrick White records his first career Triple Double with 22pts 10reb 10ast in tonight's 119-94 thrashing of the Detroit Pistons. While White clearly led the way tonight we saw some great performances throughout. We did see the return of Porzingis in this one and it was great to see. White may have had the better game overall, JB led the way scoring wise with 31pts on a very efficient shooting night and recorded his 5th straight game of 27+ pts. Pritchard and Kornet both stepped into the starting lineup as Tatum, Horford and Holiday all sat this one out and they both played great in this one. Pritchard added 23pts and 7ast while Kornet had a 10reb night including 6oreb. The Celtics "stay ready crew" is doing just that and performing at a very high level when their numbers are called. The Celtics are now 54-14 and hold a 10 game lead over the Bucks! The Celtics manhandled the Wizards 130-104 thanks in large part to Sam Hauser. He was a flamethrower in this one contributing 30pts on 10-13 from beyond the arc!!! He had 7 3 pointers in the first half which was 1 shy of the Celtics record and then had 3 in the first few minutes of the third before spraining his ankle and leaving the game for good. He ended just 1 shy of tying Marcus Smart for most 3s in a game for the Celtics and he did it in just 23 minutes. The rest of the Celtics were very good in this game as well. Tatum had another monster performance with 30pts in just 27 minutes himself. Pritchard became the first non starter Celtics player with 12+ assists (he ended with 13!) as part of his double double. The Celtics shot 24-50 from 3 which is insanely efficient and also tallied 30ast on 43fgm. They now sit at 53-14 and have a 9.5 game lead over Milwaukee in 2nd place!
