Welcome to Loan Officer Freedom, the #1 podcast in the country for loan officers, hosted by Carl White. In this episode, Carl White sits down with Jim Reed to explore a simple parenting story that reveals a powerful lesson about leadership, communication, and managing people. What starts as a conversation about their fathers quickly turns into a deeper discussion about how loan officers, branch managers, and business owners can lead more effectively without relying on anger, frustration, or emotional reactions. Carl and Jim share personal stories about moments that shaped their understanding of accountability and respect. They discuss why the best leaders address problems quickly, communicate expectations clearly, and avoid the common trap of letting frustration build until it turns into an emotional outburst. The conversation also highlights the importance of setting healthy boundaries with clients, referral partners, team members, and even family members. They break down the difference between correcting behavior and becoming passive aggressive, why praise should happen publicly while correction should happen privately, and how many leadership challenges can be solved through calm, direct communication. Whether you're managing a team, building relationships with referral partners, or simply trying to become a better communicator, the lessons in this episode are practical, relatable, and immediately applicable. If you've ever struggled with difficult conversations, setting expectations, or balancing accountability with empathy, this episode offers valuable insights that can help you become a stronger leader both in business and in life.

Welcome to Loan Officer Freedom, the #1 podcast in the country for loan officers, hosted by Carl White. In this episode, Carl White sits down with Brian Stevens from Mortgage Shots to unpack the headline-grabbing lawsuit between Rocket Mortgage and UWM, and what it really means for everyday loan officers. What starts as a conversation about two mortgage giants battling over servicing rights quickly turns into a powerful lesson about protecting and nurturing your own database before somebody else does. Carl and Brian break down the real value behind mortgage servicing portfolios, why refinance opportunities never fully disappear, and how loan officers often make the mistake of ignoring their "best opportunity" sitting right inside their own database. Through stories, analogies, and real-world examples, they explain why consistent communication with past clients matters more than worrying about competitors calling your people. This episode is packed with practical insights about database marketing, refinance recapture, client retention, and the mindset loan officers need to win long term. If you are ready to stop chasing more leads before fixing the real gaps in your business, head over to GetMoreLoans.com and schedule a free call. Welcome to Loan Officer Freedom, the #1 podcast in the country for loan officers, hosted by Carl White. In this episode, Carl White challenges one of the biggest assumptions in the mortgage industry: that more leads automatically solve a slow pipeline. Instead, he breaks down why most loan officers do not actually have a lead problem yet. They often have deeper issues with follow-up, database activation, conversion, discipline, and relationship management that are quietly costing them deals they already have within reach. Carl walks through how loan officers can dramatically increase production by first fixing the "leaks" in their business before chasing more strangers. From reactivating past clients and old leads to properly leading pre-approved buyers and strengthening realtor relationships, he shares practical strategies for maximizing existing opportunities that are often overlooked. His message is simple: before adding more leads, make sure you are fully working the gold already sitting in your database. This episode is a powerful reminder that sustainable growth often comes from improving systems, accountability, and consistency before scaling lead generation. For loan officers ready to close more loans without wasting time, money, or effort, Carl offers a straightforward roadmap for tightening operations, deepening relationships, and creating more conversations with the people most likely to say yes.

Most lenders say they have access to non-agency products. But access does not mean your loan officers can confidently sell them.In this episode of The Fintech Hunting Podcast, Michael Hammond sits down with Eloise Schmitz, CEO and Co-Founder of LoanNEX, to unpack one of the biggest hidden growth problems in mortgage lending today: lenders are missing qualified borrowers because their teams do not have the visibility, workflow, and execution certainty needed to compete in non-agency lending. This is not just a product problem. It is a confidence problem. It is a workflow problem. It is a revenue problem.Eloise explains why non-agency lending can no longer be treated like a side-door solution for unusual files. In a market where affordability is tight, rates remain elevated, and borrower profiles are changing, lenders need more than a long product menu. They need a clear way for loan officers to identify options, trust the pricing, explain the solution, and deliver what they promise. In this conversation, Michael and Eloise discuss:Why access alone is not a competitive advantageHow lenders unintentionally hide viable options from loan officersWhy “simple” product menus can actually create more frictionThe borrower segments lenders are missing in today's marketWhy execution certainty matters more than everHow LoanNEX helps lenders create confidence in non-agency lendingWhy the future belongs to lenders who can make complex products easier to sellThe big takeaway:If your loan officers cannot see the right options, they cannot sell the right solutions. And in this market, that may be costing lenders more than they realize.Guest: Eloise Schmitz, CEO & Co-Founder, LoanNEXHost: Michael Hammond, The Fintech Hunting PodcastLearn more about LoanNEX:Contact: sales@loannex.comSubscribe to The Fintech Hunting Podcast for more conversations with the leaders, founders, and innovators shaping the future of mortgage, fintech, lending, and financial services.

The Celtics lose Game 6 106-93 and this game wasn't as close as the final score dictates. Mazzulla waived the white flag down 23pts with 10:24 left and it was the best thing he did all night. Brandon shares real data from his own business, including how his team consistently reaches a 96 to 97 percent contact rate through disciplined and persistent follow-up. They also dig into what really drives higher conversions, and it is not more leads. It is better follow-up. You will hear exactly how often to reach out, what channels to use, and how to stay consistent without feeling like you are bothering people. This episode makes a strong case that the fastest way to grow your business is to maximize the leads you already have instead of constantly chasing new ones. This is a practical, numbers-driven approach to building a steady pipeline and eliminating the loan officer roller coaster. When you understand your metrics and commit to consistent action, you can create predictable closings and a business that grows month after month.

Mike Faraci (founder of Red Button Media) sat down with James Duncan (former mortgage marketing exec, now advising at Calum Advisors) to tackle the question every loan officer is quietly asking right now: "With so many new AI tools dropping every week... what the heck am I actually supposed to be doing?" Here's what you'll walk away with: → The one question to ask yourself before adopting ANY new tool, platform, or AI "solution" (miss this and you'll burn months chasing shiny objects) → Why "prompt engineering" is a skill — not a position — and the exact move James uses to get AI to prompt ITSELF on your behalf → The "story vs. point of view" distinction that separates forgettable loan officers from the ones clients actively seek out → Mike's 24-hour video challenge that got one broker TWO extra referrals in a single week (spoiler: it takes less time than typing the text) → The "Domino's Pizza Tracker" trick one mortgage company stole to boost loan process engagement → Why AI avatars are going to be the downfall of loan officers who lean too hard into them — and what to do instead → The truth about niching down that most LOs are getting wrong Whether you're a producing LO, a marketing director, or a CEO trying to figure out how to stay human in an AI-saturated market — this one's for you. Episode 639 Schedule a one on one free coaching call, click here or visit LoanOfficerStrategyCall.com. Welcome to Loan Officer Freedom, the #1 podcast in the country for loan officers, hosted by Carl White. In this episode, Carl White sits down with Owen Lee to unpack a game-changing shift happening right now in the mortgage industry: AI-powered systems that are having real conversations with borrowers and generating applications around the clock. They walk through how these AI tools are answering calls, pre-qualifying borrowers, setting appointments, and even issuing pre-qualification letters, all without the loan officer being present. Carl and Owen break down why speed matters more than ever, including the powerful stat that nearly 80 percent of borrowers go with the first loan officer they speak to. They explain how this technology helps you win more of those conversations, capture opportunities you would normally miss, and create a steady flow of inbound activity without working nights and weekends. This episode is a look at where the industry is heading and how loan officers can use simple technology to multiply their efforts, increase conversations, and ultimately close more deals. The opportunity is not coming, it is already here, and those who lean into it will have a major advantage. To learn more and see how this works for your business, visit TalkToTeamOwen.com.
I'm Kenny Simpson, Loan Officer and have been in the business for 20 plus years. @kennybsimpson on IG or www.simpson-team.com AI is taking over every industry… but what does that actually mean for mortgages and lending? In this video, I break down the real truth about AI in mortgages—the good, the bad, and the ugly—from someone who's been in the business for over 20 years, closed 5,000+ loans, and funded over $1B.We're not talking theory. We're talking what's actually happening right now.
In this episode of the Building Bigger Lives Podcast, Michael Regan and Kathryn Peterson discuss the distinction between loan officers and mortgage advisors in the housing industry. They explore how titles impact customer perception and the importance of asking thoughtful questions to build trust and provide value beyond transactional services, particularly focusing on the titles "mortgage advisor" and "loan officer." They highlight how these titles impact consumer perception and search behavior, especially in the context of AI-driven queries. The conversation begins by exploring the origins and implications of these titles, with Kathryn sharing her experience working in both banking and independent mortgage settings. The discussion aims to help listeners consider how they position themselves when interacting with consumers, particularly in the context of mid-year planning and script development. The conversation highlights how mortgage advisors focus on long-term relationships, ongoing support, and understanding clients' goals and concerns, differentiating themselves from traditional loan officers who operate more as order-takers. The hosts emphasize that mortgage advisors help clients navigate complex decisions while maintaining professional relationships that can evolve into personal connections, positioning themselves as trusted advisors rather than transaction facilitators. Welcome to Loan Officer Freedom, the #1 podcast in the country for loan officers, hosted by Carl White. In this episode, Carl White sits down with Kevin Gillespie to break down what's actually working right now for branch managers, company owners, and loan officers who are growing in today's market. They dive into why some teams are having their best months ever while others are struggling, and it all comes down to one thing: consistent execution of a clear strategy and process. Carl and Kevin unpack the powerful combination of daily prospecting and strategic marketing, including how the Daily Success Plan paired with simple, story-based conversations is helping loan officers get more engagement and better results. They also walk through a practical approach to social media that supports your business instead of distracting from it, with a simple time-based structure anyone can follow. You'll hear a real-world discussion on the concept of going "wide and deep" in your marketing, and why relying on social media alone can quietly crush your production. Carl shares examples of loan officers who shifted too far away from prospecting and saw their numbers drop, along with the key adjustments that get things back on track. They also highlight case studies of both large and small teams who are scaling successfully by combining calls, systems, and smart marketing. From recruiting growth to increased production, the message is clear: the fundamentals still work, and when you execute them consistently, the results follow. If you're a loan officer or leader looking to grow your production without chasing every new shiny object, this episode will give you a clear and practical roadmap to follow. In this episode of The Loan Officer Podcast, host Dustin Owen is joined by marketing expert Mike Siciliano and producer Karina Mojica for an in-depth discussion on CRM systems tailored specifically for mortgage professionals. Together, they explore the ins and outs of customer relationship management tools, dispelling common misconceptions and highlighting the practical realities of CRM adoption in the mortgage industry. The trio emphasizes a crucial point: the best CRM isn't necessarily the one with the most features or the highest price tag, it's the one you'll consistently use and integrate into your daily workflow. Throughout the episode, Dustin, Michael, and Karina break down essential CRM functionalities, such as effective lead tracking, the implementation of automated drip campaigns, seamless integrations with loan origination systems (LOS), and the importance of segmenting referral sources for targeted communication. They also touch on the challenges mortgage professionals face when choosing and maintaining a CRM, including decision fatigue, overcomplicating processes, and the temptation to chase the latest technology trends. Dustin shares candid stories from his own career, recalling how he once managed deals using nothing more than a spiral notebook before eventually leading the development of a $1 billion mortgage division. His experiences underscore a recurring theme: while technology can enhance efficiency, it's the discipline to consistently use the chosen platform and the willingness to adapt that truly drive success. The conversation ultimately reinforces that no matter which CRM you select, commitment to the process and a focus on building genuine relationships are what set top producers apart in the mortgage business. In this episode, mortgage industry veteran Dustin Owen shares invaluable insights on how loan officers and realtors can significantly boost their local visibility and relevance in an increasingly AI-driven world. Drawing from over 20 years of hands-on experience in the mortgage sector, Dustin introduces listeners to the concept of "Answer Engine Optimization" (AEO), a forward-thinking approach designed to help professionals stand out as trusted experts in their communities. He explains in detail why relying solely on traditional methods—such as social media posts, word-of-mouth referrals, and basic online listings—is no longer sufficient in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, where artificial intelligence is reshaping how consumers search for and select service providers. Throughout the episode, Dustin meticulously outlines an 11-step strategy that empowers loan officers and realtors to take control of their digital presence. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining digital identity consistency across all platforms, ensuring that names, addresses, and contact details are uniform and up-to-date. Dustin also delves into the nuances of Google Business Profile optimization, highlighting how a well-managed profile can dramatically increase local search visibility and credibility. He encourages professionals to focus on question-based content creation, crafting informative and relevant answers to the specific queries potential clients are likely to ask online. Additionally, he discusses the value of building local authority through community engagement, partnerships, and thought leadership, as well as the power of leveraging authentic client testimonials to build trust and social proof. Dustin's core message resonates throughout the episode: in order to thrive in a marketplace increasingly influenced by AI-driven search and recommendation engines, mortgage and real estate professionals must be clear, consistent, and contextually relevant in their online presence. By doing so, they enable AI platforms to confidently identify, validate, and recommend them to potential clients seeking reliable local experts. This episode serves as a comprehensive guide for industry professionals eager to future-proof their businesses and maintain a competitive edge in the digital age. A borrower you've closed loans for before just photographed your Loan Estimate and dropped it into ChatGPT. The AI told them you're overcharging. You're not. But they believed it anyway — and the deal went somewhere else. This is not a hypothetical. It happened to one of Trevor York's clients last week. And according to a stat dropped in this conversation, 77% of consumers now trust AI as much as a human expert. That number was lower a year ago. It will be higher next year. So here's the real question: when your client runs your deal through a chatbot tonight — and some of them will — is the trust you've built strong enough to survive it? In this episode of Mortgage Marketing Radio, I sit down with Trevor York — loan officer, founder of LinkSpot, and one of the most forward-thinking minds in the mortgage industry — to break down exactly what is happening to loan officers who haven't figured this out yet. And more importantly, what the ones who have figured it out are doing differently. This is not a feel-good conversation. It is a wake-up call. Welcome to Loan Officer Freedom, the #1 podcast in the country for loan officers, hosted by Carl White. In this episode, Carl White sits down with Chris Johnstone to talk about Chris's new book, AI 101: The Ultimate Guide to AI for Loan Officers, and why this is such an important moment for loan officers to stop dabbling with AI and start using it the right way. They break down how to set up AI so it actually sounds like you, supports your brand, and helps you move faster without putting out generic content that feels cold or obvious. Chris shares practical examples of how loan officers can use AI to strengthen follow-up, personalize communication with agents and past clients, build custom GPTs for things like refinances and first-time buyers, and even create systems that help capture more conversations before leads go cold. Carl and Chris also talk about where AI is already changing the mortgage business, from answering phones and texts to helping loan officers stay in front of opportunities they would otherwise miss. They also dig into the bigger opportunity here, which is not replacing relationships, but using AI to create more room for real ones. This episode shows how the right tools can handle the busywork while you double down on personal connection, speed to lead, and being the first lender to respond when it matters most. If AI has felt overwhelming, confusing, or like something you know you should be using better, this episode gives you a simple and practical look at what is working right now and how to start applying it in your mortgage business without overcomplicating it.
