Because they have taken Shaitan as their wali — their loyal, protective ally. And Shaitan, as we discussed, is a wali who flatters in good times and abandons at the worst possible moment.But here is the sobering part: they think they are guided.This is not about people who know they are doing wrong and do it anyway. This is about people who have followed Shaitan's logic so completely that it feels like wisdom. The Quraysh doing tawaf naked genuinely believed they were being more pure, more sincere before Allah. The logic made sense to them.This is the danger of reason untethered from revelation. On an individual level, so many harmful things can seem reasonable. Take riba — interest. The short-term individual logic disintegrates when it scales.Our intellect is a gift. But it needs guidance. The Quran is that guidance. The Celtics lose to the Pacers 98-96 in a game of massive runs. JB didn't play tonight so it feels like this was a scheduled loss even against the Pacers but the Celtics were right in this game down the stretch. The Celtics beat the Kings 120-106 but this game was much closer than the score shows. The Celtics closed this game out with a 32-18 4th quarter really putting the Kings away. The 4th quarter was powered by 14pts from White and 8 from JB but this was a game that was really controlled by our bench. They found themselves down by as many as 20 and 3 minutes into the third quarter, Mazzulla pulled all of his starters and the bench goes OFF! They responded with a 10-2 run forcing a Pacers timeout and extended that run to 19-5 forcing another Pacers timeout! Eventually the bench magic ran out and Mazzulla brought his starters back in but instead of being down 20, they were down just 8 and then you had JB who just took over. JB out scored the Pacers 14-13 in the 4th quarter! The Pacers shot a ridiculous 12-20 from 3 in the first half and just 1-20 in the second so there is certainly a bit of luck in there but they do say water finds its level and the Pacers are the worst 3pt shooting team in the NBA so we will take it. The Celtics beat the Raptors 112-96 without JB!!! Pritchard went off for 33pts alongside 8reb and 10ast!!! He had 19pts in the 3rd quarter and was truly unstoppable. In a game where JB isn't there to leave his mark, you need guys to step up and while Pritchard surely did, he wasn't along. This was one of the more impressive wins of the year because of the contributions we got off the bench!Hugo left his mark with his defensive tenacity but also added a 10pt 10reb double double with some monster plays down the stretch. The Celtics BEAT THE HEAT 129-116 after an impressive 4th quarter stretch with contributions from a lot of guys. Derrick White was Mr Consistent in this game and seemed to hit every big shot imaginable on his way to a 33pt 5reb 6ast game with 9 3pt makes!!! JB, while it was certainly a slow start with just 6pts in the first half, added another 30pt game which he has done in 12 of his last 13 games! On top of his 30pts he also led the team with 9reb and 7ast along with a 10-11 FT performance to make up for last game lol. What makes this win more impressive is the performances we got from our bench. Hauser was 5-6 from 3 with 15pts, Simons added 14pts and Hugo had 10pts 8reb 2stl and a block. Hugo was absolutely key down the stretch on both sides of the ball and it made it impossible to take him out. He ended up with 29 minutes tonight which you just love to see. The Celtics lost to the Pistons 112-105 in another game that they could've/should've won. The Celtics started this game shooting 5-11 from 3 and ended the game shooting 10-39 so in quarters 2-4 they shot just 5-28 which is 17%. Derrick White and JB seemed to be the only 2 that could get any sort of consistent scoring going especially down the stretch. White led the team with 14 4th quarter points alongside JBs 7 so between the 2 of them, they scored 21 of the teams 24 4th quarter pts... They both ended the night with 30+ point performances. The Celtics' 5 game win streak comes to an end after a true tale of two halves. They lost 116-101 after being up 67-60 in the first half. They scored 35 points in the first quarter and just 34 points in the entire second half.... They shot 15 for their last 54 which is just 27% and ended the game at 38.6% from the field which is their lowest of the year. JB and Walsh combined for 50 of the teams 101 points and did it on a very efficient 66% from the field and 62% from 3 so that really goes to show you how poorly everyone else shot in this one.... The Celtics beat the Raptors 121-113 and have moved into 3rd place in the Eastern Conference!!!! After an 0-3 start to this season, I don't think anybody expected this type of turnaround and certainly not this fast but here we are. I did say coming into this season that this team was going to be a lot of fun to watch but they probably weren't going to be much more than a .500 team. I was certainly wrong about the record but I was definitely right about how much fun this team has been. Mazzulla has these guys all bought in and playing their hearts out and it has been awesome to see so many guys on different nights contributing to their success. Derrick White and JB were huge in tonight's win but they really did get contributions all over the place. White had some clutch shots and defensive plays down the stretch and JB was 6-6 from the FT line in the 4th solidifying this win. The Lakers were without Luka, LeBron and Smart and it certainly showed as the Celtics steamrolled them 126-105. JB led the way again with 30pts 8reb and 8ast and his playmaking was on full display tonight. No JB, No Problem! Okay, yes it was the Wizards and yes they were injured but my goodness did this team show out. D White had a great game leading the way with 30pts 7reb and 9ast and looked like vintage D White which was a great sign and hopefully a sign of things to come. Jordan Walsh continued his brilliant play creating a new career high in pts with 22 to go alongside 7reb 2stl and a blk. While those two really shined, we had 7 guys in double digits so got contributions up and down this roster which was great to see with JB out.
