On today's show, it's time to wrap up another NBA season, and we've got home court advantage talking about this one, as our Golden State Warriors win their 4th ring in 8 years in what very well may be the team's crowning achievement in the Steph Curry era. The Celtics flexed early and their advantages in size and athleticism seemed to many to be too much for Golden State to handle. But in the end, the championship pedigree of the Warriors proved to be the difference, as the team made all the necessary defensive adjustments to neutralize the Celtics' attack and Steph put the team on his back. Maybe it was enlightenment for the doubters, maybe it's a middle finger to the haters, but the baby faced assassin put everyone on notice; do not doubt Wardell Stephen Curry. He's a little man in a big man's game, he's friendly and unassuming and humble, but when it comes down to will to win and big game chops, and pardon the blasphemy here, what he showed us was vaguely reminiscent of that rarified Jordan air. The results? 4 rings, 2 MVP, All NBA, All Star, Finals MVP, nothing left to prove, but let's put the legacy talk to bed for now, he's not even done yet. Dude's 34 years old and still going strong and if there's one thing you should have learned about #30 by now, it's to never doubt the heart of a champion. This Warriors team is loaded with young talent, that rare example of a team winning now while building for the future, and I fully expect him to be a part of it for years to come. And how lucky are we for that? So sit back, the Warriors dynasty is back on top of the basketball world and we're breaking down how it's all unfolding, next on the Roundup Podcast so let's get rolling . . .

On today's show, tied up 2-2 in the NBA Finals, it's time to check in on a riveting Warriors and Celtics series that has seen each team trade wins from game to game, and headed back to the Bay for Game 5, the title is still very much up for grabs. There has been no momentum in this series, very little continuity, and with two elite level coaches making adjustments from game to game to counter the opponent's strengths, trying to predict how this series might play out has become a lost cause. The Celtics size advantage and stifling defense has dominated the Warriors at times, and after taking Game 1 in the Bay and crushing the Warriors back in Boston in Game 3, it was completely understandable why the hot take artists out there were ready to crown the Celtics, but with a Game 2 win at home and an all time performance by Steph in Game 4 at Boston, the experience and star power of the Warriors seemed to be turning the tide. It's a 3 game series now, with the Warriors having regained home court, but with the Celtics' recent road success, there's nothing about these remaining games that can be taken for granted, except of course, the greatness of one Wardell Stephen Curry. So sit back, the intensity of the NBA Finals continues to build, and we're breaking down how it's all unfolding, next on the Roundup Podcast so let's get rolling . . .
Locked On Celtics - Daily Podcast On The Boston Celtics With Rainin' J's
The Boston Celtics defense on Steph Curry has been a topic of some debate, with some quesstioning whether the Celtics need to change things. John Karalis and Tom Westerholm discuss that, and John argues that the drop coverage is part of a plan to dare Curry to beat Boston all by himself. Plus, more love for Robert Williams and some really dumb accusations of dirty play against Al Horford. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! This week on the podcast I'm talking about the career of NBA Big Man Al Horford and how in his 15th season hes finally made it to the NBA Finals!
The Warriors did what they couldn't do in Game 1: Step. On. The. Throat. The Celtics darlings from Game 1 - Horford, Smart, and White - couldn't get it going in Game 2. The Warriors really didn't have much secondary help either, but they were able to utilize a strong 3rd quarter to put away the Celtics. Curry and Tatum are on a collision course for MVP as the series shifts to Boston. Have fun listening to this mess of a podcast. Half way through, a spider descended from the ceiling on to host Jordan. Simultaneously, guest host Tory had technical difficulties and when the tech dust settled, Tory and Drew could not hear each other and Jordan had to moderate the 2nd half of the podcast. FUN. WE'RE HAVING FUN.
The goal for every team in the playoffs is to steal a game on the road and that is what the Celtics did in Game 1. Tonight was a very different story in a very embarrassing loss but the last fact remains true. The Celtics took back home court advantage. People want to blame this on the refs and I'm not going to sit here and say they were good but this is 100% on the Celtics. They gave up 33pts off of 19 turnovers. You are never going to win a game playing like that. This was a weird game because the Celtics came out and played pretty well in the 1st quarter but the wheels fell off shortly after. Tatum, despite having 28pts, was a team worst -36 while having 4 turnovers and failed to get back allowing easy buckets. JB came out firing and had 13pts after the first on 4-6 from the field and then ended the game with just 17pts on 5-17 from the field meaning he shot 1-11 in the last 3 quarters. Horford, who led the team in scoring in Game 1, only had 2pts tonight and it was also pretty apparent that Timelord is still not right. Marcus Smart also struggled today scoring just 2 pts on 1-6 from the field with 5 turnovers. It's a tough loss for sure but it's time to head back to Boston and defend home court now. In the newest episode of Warriors 24/7, Brandon and Javi take a look at the 4th quarter collapse and how a lot of the open threes were courtesy of lack of rotating and ball watching. Celtics and Horford played different looks on Draymond. Horford was great on screens and the pick & pop. Cadiz and Landaverde talk about Horford's success, Celtics adjustments, and much more!

Cameron's 416-foot shot to left-center came off Emilio Pagan. Alex Lange gave up two walks and struck out one in the pivotal eighth inning and Gregory Soto earned his 10th save. AL Central-leading Minnesota has lost seven of 10 games and is still the division's only team with a winning record. The fourth-place Tigers have won seven of their last nine games after a poor start this season. Blue Jays 8 White Sox 3 – Manoah sharp as Blue Jays beat White Sox, win 8th straight Alek Manoah pitched into the eighth inning, Teoscar Hernández homered and the Toronto Blue Jays extended their winning streak to eight games by beating the Chicago White Sox 8-3. Santiago Espinal had three hits and three RBIs as the surging Blue Jays won for the 12th time in 15 games. Chicago was swept in the three-game series and has lost six of eight. Manoah allowed three runs and six hits, walked one and struck out five in 7 2/3 innings. He's 9-0 with a 2.12 ERA in 13 career home starts. Cubs 7, Cardinals 5 – Schwindel, Contreras and Happ homer as Cubs top Cards 7-5 Frank Schwindel launched a long solo homer and doubled among his three hits and the Chicago Cubs topped the St. Louis Cardinals 7-5 for their third straight victory. St. Louis has also won five in a row at Wrigley Field dating to last July. Horford finished with 26 points and the Celtics outscored the Warriors 40-16 in the final 12 minutes after trailing by 15 points late in the third quarter. Boston made its first seven tries from long distance in the fourth and wound up 9 of 12 beyond the arc over the final 12 minutes as almost everybody got involved in the 3-point flurry. NBA – Silver says NBA likes 'parity of opportunity' for its teams Over the last three seasons, six franchises have reached the NBA Finals. The league has seen five Eastern Conference champions in the last five seasons. This will be the fourth consecutive year that the team which hoists the trophy won't be the same as the one who did the year before. Adam Silver likes all these numbers. The NBA Commissioner, in his annual pre-NBA Finals address Thursday night held just before Game 1 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics, repeated his familiar refrain that he doesn't care who wins. But he also sees the value in some unpredictability from one year to the next as far as which teams make it to the title round. NHL – National Hockey League – 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs...
On today's show, it's Warriors/Celtics, as the NBA Finals tip off and we wrap up what many consider a pretty lackluster postseason tournament, but I'm just here to say, who needs drama when your team is playing for a title? Of course, as a hoops fan I'm always hoping for a back and forth nail biter of a 7 game series, but when it's 34 year old Steph putting the team on his narrow shoulders with a chance to reach the top of the mountain again; when it's Klay coming back after a 941 day rehab and finding his form in the Playoffs; when it's Draymond in the middle as the emotional linchpin; when it's Looney leaving it all on the court every minute he plays; when it's Wiggins finally fitting in somewhere; when it's the future in Poole, Kuminga and Moody finding their way in big moments, the Warriors fan in me will take the gentleman's sweep over Luka and the Mavs and get ready for all the drama I can handle in the Finals. So in the WCF, it was 5 games, and headed back to Boston with the Celtics up 3-2, it seemed like the ECF were a foregone conclusion, but Jimmy Buckets dug deep, scoring 47 to take the series back to Miami, and in Game 7 he played all 48 minutes and dropped 35, but it wasn't enough. In the end, the defense of the young Celtics, and Al Horford, was too much for a depleted Heat squad, but we got our Game 7, an exciting finish, and our Finals matchup! All in all, not a bad little postseason after all. But there's just one more thing that would make it complete, and that's another ring for Steph and the Warriors. So sit back, the NBA Finals start tonight, it's Warriors/Celtics, and we're breaking down how it's all unfolding, next on the Roundup Podcast so let's get rolling . . .

Rylan Stiles (@Rylan_Stiles on Twitter) dives into the Al Horford trades from Philly to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the OKC Thunder to the Boston Celtics as the Celtics reach the 2022 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. What really went down between the Thunder and Horford? Did OKC make the right moves with Al Horford? Plus, Oklahoma City has begun their NBA Draft workouts, let's take a look at the list so far and explain the 2022 NBA Draft process. The Thunder and General Manager Sam Presti have a ton of decisions to make regarding Lu Dort, Mike Muscala, Theo Maledon, Isaiah Roby, Aaron Wiggins, Vit Krejci, and Kenrich Williams this offseason plus with the NBA Draft and NBA Summer League coming up what are key dates to watch for? Finally, Vasilije Micic wants to come over to the NBA, but the Thunder have little to no leverage so do not expect a huge haul in return for Micic in a trade this NBA Offseason. Boston snuffs the Heat, and James and JP yap about it. Who was Boston's 3rd best player? How can the Heat get better this summer? Don't miss it!
CELTICS ARE GOING TO THE FINALS!!! Wow what a game for the Celtics. I said prior to the game today that we would need to see 25+ from JB and Tatum and that didn't technically happen but they did combine for 50 pts. We had a really solid game from Smart but saw a really great defensive performance from Horford as well. This was as well as we could've asked for as far as a defensive performance. The Celtics are now heading to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2009 and are set to take on the Golden State Warriors. There's a lot the Celtics need to clean up in order to beat the Warriors but at this point there is nothing to complain about. This team has shown nothing but resilience in this playoffs run and there is nothing but optimism around this team. Celtics are off until Game 1 of the Finals until Thursday June 2nd so they have a little break to get healthy because Rob Williams is going to be a key in this series. Who would've thought that having Smart and Horford back would help? What an unreal performance by both of those guys but Marcus Smart in particular. This was a quintessential Marcus Smart performance. He ended the game with 24pts 9reb 12ast 3stl and a block with only 1 turnover. Zero part of him looked like he was coming back from an injury which is great to see. We saw great games from both of the Jays as well but Grant also added 19pts while Pritchard added in 10. This was a great team effort to tie the series at 1-1 heading back to Boston. The offense tonight was spectacular highlighted by the 28 assists and 20-40 from the 3pt line. Obviously, this is not something we can expect every game this series BUT a lot of the 3pt attempts that we took tonight were wide open because guys were aggressive getting into the lane and kicking out to the open shooter so as long as guys continue hitting these open shots, the Celtics are looking real good moving forward. Bonus Episodes Every Week @ patreon.com/PodDontLie Giannis Antetokounmpo, the NBA's best player, was unfortunately eliminated from the playoffs despite becoming the first player in NBA history to post 200 points, 100 rebounds and 50 assists in a single series-- he accumulated 237 points (for an average of 33.9 per game), 103 rebounds (14.7 per game) and 50 assists for a team that was missing its second All Star, Khris Middleton, who's scoring and perimeter defense surely would have provided the very slight bump Giannis needed to overcome an ultimately fraudulent Boston Celtics team that benefited from lucky shooting and a generous whistle in the closeout game 7 of this classic series, that saw Al Horford very suspiciously post his career high in playoff scoring at the age of at 35. At the present time there is no investigation planned by the league to examine Horford's sudden-- and possibly chemically induced-- rejuvenation. Ben Detrick joins us to discuss this result, the future of his beloved Sixers, and preview the conference championships.
