I stayed away from community. Specifically, because I felt as if I did not have enough to give and still be left with what I needed to survive. What little I believed that I had extra, if I gave it then those receiving would be disappointed with the miserly amount that I offered. So, I decided to not give any at all and instead to take and hoard any that I came across, oportunistically. Today, the naivete is apparent. My programming was stemming from lack and protection.
