The world needs a Messiah, and the Jews were eagerly awaiting theirs. He was to be a mighty king who would come and save his people. They did not expect their Messiah to come in the form of Jesus. Isaiah 9 and 11 give us a glimpse of what is to be expected in these Messianic Prophecies.
Jesus tells us the importance of loving one another. This will prove that we are his disciples. In the Gospel of John chapter 15 Jesus tells us that we must abide in him and follow his commandments, because he is the vine and we are the branches. He then goes on to say that there is no greater example of love than when someone lays down their life for one of their friends.

As a result, differences occur, disagreements happen, and division is common, which means that we need to make sure that we stick with one another, and bear with one another.
