Pastor Dana's continues to look at Jesus' life in Matthew 3:13-17, where Jesus' cousin John baptizes Him in the Jordan River, and in Matthew 4:1-11, where Jesus goes into the wilderness to fast for forty days and is tempted by the devil. In baptism, He commits Himself to a life of following God the Father and proves it in the wilderness. Our commitment to faith in God won't save us from trial, either, but it will help us through them.
From the book of Isaiah, the study continues to look for Jesus in the prophetic. For an outline, click the link below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qNSgB-kiwn44RTVemu2aZ63-qSel7zLl/view?usp=sharing

What actually makes you worthy? In this message, Pastor Tim Ghali (Interim Teaching & Discipleship Pastor) walks through to unpack a powerful truth: our worth isn't something we earn—it's something Jesus gives. The church in Colossae struggled with identity, pressure, and competing voices—just like we do today. Through Paul's words, we're reminded that when we center our lives on Jesus, everything changes. We don't strive for worth—we live from it. This message challenges us to refocus, realign, and rediscover our identity in Christ.
A single question can expose what we really believe: “What should I do to inherit eternal life?” We start in Luke 10 with Jesus refusing debate tactics and pulling us back to the heart of the law, loving God with everything and loving our neighbor as ourselves. From there, the conversation widens into judgment, hope, and why the only solid confidence is Jesus Christ and a name “registered in heaven,” not our status, our arguments, or our ability to control evil. Then we slow down for the Good Samaritan, because it's not a children's story, it's a mirror. Two religious men see a wounded stranger and create distance; the Samaritan sees him and pays a price. That challenge lands hard in a world of ugly headlines, fear, and outrage. Mercy is not theoretical, and neighbor love is not limited to people who look like us or live like us. Jesus' command stays blunt: go and do the same.We also read Psalm 75, Proverbs 12, and Colossians 3 to connect God's justice to everyday speech, hard work, and the health of Christian households. Finally, we talk about attacks on churches, the pressure against Christianity in the West, a Medal of Honor story of courage, and why American rights were understood as rooted in God rather than the state. This Easter at Bethlehem Church, Lead Pastor Jason Britt explores the ultimate turning point in human history: the Resurrection. We often view Easter as a beautiful tradition or a commercialized holiday filled with candy and bunnies, but for the first disciples, it was the definitive answer to the heavy, existential questions that define the human experience. The Resurrection doesn't just provide a happy ending; it provides a new beginning by settling the questions of our purpose, our brokenness, and our future. If you've ever wondered if your life has true meaning, why the world feels so broken, or if there is a peace that can actually sustain you in a world of fear, this message is for you. Discover why a "moderate" interest in Christianity isn't an option and how the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead can give life to your mortal body today.
Remember God loves you so much he sent his Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for your sins. You are of great value. Jesus loves you and He is just a prayer away!
Why do you doubt? Is a question that seems to ring right through our heart. But the takeaway from this story shouldn't be Peter's lack of faith. But that when we step boldly towards Jesus. He will step toward us as well. If you prefer to listen, stream, and/or watch, join us and subscribe on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@kingwoodmethodist
When Jesus makes us wait
This past Sunday we wrapped up Binge the Bible by looking at Revelation 21:1–5 and the final chapter of God's story. After three seasons and 31 weeks walking through the Bible, we saw how the story ends, not with humanity escaping the earth, but with God restoring the world He created.Throughout this series we have seen God make promises and keep them. From the moment sin entered the world in Genesis, God began working toward redemption and restoration. Revelation shows us the completion of that story: a new heaven and new earth where God dwells with His people, the curse is removed, and everything broken is made new. There's one idea that sits at the center of this passage: the end of the story is not heaven we escape to, it's a world God restores. The hope of the gospel is not that God abandons creation but that He redeems it. And that restoration begins even now as God restores people to Himself through Jesus.

Imagine if God forgave us but didn't transform us. Imagine if God canceled our past sins but left us trapped in our present sins. That wouldn't be good news! But the amazing truth of the gospel is that Jesus forgives us and transforms us. In this message, Michael Bouterse, director of Thrive Harbor teaches on how Jesus makes us into a new person, giving us new power over sin.Scripture passages cited in this message include Romans 1:25; 5:18-6:7; 2 Corinthians 5:17; James 5:16; Ezekiel 36:26-27; and 2 Corinthians 3:18.
Sunday Morning Sermon with Pastor Jacob Gray from Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro, Illinois
Jesus confronts the Pharisees whose foolishness was revealed by their holding to the tradition of man made rules and were in effect making the very Word of God of no value at all. We are in Mark 7:1-13. Jesus rebukes these religious rulers for setting aside the very Word of God in order to keep their traditions. Our Lord gives an example of the priority of the Word of God over man made rules as regards one's responsibility to one's parents. These rulers were rejecting the Word of God by placing their tradition as the priority of what to believe and how to live in family relationships. The Word of God has the priority of authority in one's life. It should be placed as priority over man made rules. Here is Dr. Mitchell, Mark 7:1, on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, .

Embrace the truth that Jesus doesn't come to "improve" your old life—let Him make you new, because in Christ your old self is truly dead and gone. Put yourself in Christ by confessing Jesus as Lord, believing in His resurrection, and calling on His name for salvation. Then keep living as His disciple by abiding in the Word and the Truth—meaning, stay close to Jesus Himself, not just information about Him. Present your whole self to God as a living sacrifice, and let Him transform you by renewing your mind instead of letting the world shape you. Stop obsessing over trying to remove sin by willpower, and focus on letting Jesus fill you, reshape your thinking, and take your thoughts captive in obedience to Him. Choose to think on what is true, honorable, right, pure, wholesome, lovely, peaceful, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy—think on Jesus, center your mind on Him, and speak life by proclaiming who you are now: a new creation in Christ.
Week 2“Everything Sad Untrue” is a series about why life feels broken and how Jesus is putting it back together. Each week looks at moments from John's Gospel where Jesus faces evil, suffering, and death head‑on, shows a different way to live—humble, honest, and surrendered—and offers real help through the Holy Spirit so that, slowly but surely, the sad things in our lives don't get the final word.

Where can we find Christ? Song of Songs 6:1–3 prepares us for the evening sermon on the coming Lord's Day. In these three verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that it is Christ Who finds us, in His church, by His ordained means of grace. Song of Songs 6:1–3 emphasizes that the church—described as the bride and the garden of spices—is both the place and the means by which Christ is sought, known, and enjoyed. The church is where He feeds His flock and gathers His lilies. This vision calls the church to prioritize Christ-centered teaching and mutual edification as marks of true spiritual vitality.

Today is the final Sunday for 2025. In an effort to reflect on the past year and renew our devotion entering a new year, we take a closer look into one of the closing portions of the book of Hebrews. All followers of Christ should ask themselves this question: Does Jesus make a difference in the way I live? He should. Scripture text is Hebrews 13:7-17.

This message explores the powerful truth that Jesus is our atonement and the only one who makes us right with God. Drawing from Romans 3:23-26, we walk through the deep need for atonement, what it truly means, and what it accomplishes for us through the sacrifice of Christ. From the reality of sin and separation to the beauty of redemption, reconciliation, and righteousness, this teaching highlights how Jesus did not simply offer a sacrifice but became the sacrifice. His blood covers, cleanses, restores, and removes the barrier between us and God. Through Him we stand forgiven, free, and fully accepted. Jesus is our atonement, and through His finished work we are brought into new life and lasting peace with God.
