Dinner 4 Geeks is just that. A celebration of all things geek shared by four friends over a weekly dinner. No area of geekology is off-limits. This show is very entertaining, but beware! It does suffer from a bad case of ADD!
The boys get together over the holidays once again! Despite the talk of Mandalorian season one, it really was recorded this week! Also, they screw you at Columbia! Plus, a knock-down drag-out over Big K-mart! This episode of D4G was recorded live at Fox's Pizza Downtown on 12/29/2021
They're back for an all-new episode recorded this actual year! It's recorded at a really low bit-rate, and no one knows why, but there's still a ton of D4G goodness as they talk about Godzilla, King, Ultraman, Beastmaster, Uncle Roy, and --wait for it--Chris Elliot.
Hello? Is anyone there? We kinda have an announcement to make. Yes, it's true! This is not an old recording! This is not a dream! Not an imaginary tale! The band is back together! At least for one night! So join us as we talk Wacky Packages, Wonder Woman, Mandalorian, Fireworks, and more! Now in HARD-TO-HEAR-O-VISION! This episode of D4G was recorded 12/27/20 over dinner at Mellow Mushroom, St Simons, GA
Some things are happening in Civil War that need an explanation, and if you've stuck with us for this long, you deserve one. One major event was never recorded. The other major event was recorded, but the recording has since disappeared. You need to know about both of them as Scott gives his unvarnished account of the situation, zero holds barred. He then closes with an Ask Me Anything. This edition of Dinner 4 Geeks was recording in Scott's home studio on 6/15/19.
The cliff hanger is resolved as we reveal who showed up at our dinner just as we were wrapping up. We talk podcast feuds, Bert and Ernie, Crayons, and I Can Read Books. Oh, we can't keep it a secret anymore. It's Steve Glosson! Glosson showed up at the table! This one is soooo much fun! This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 5/5/16
The geeks have their typical interesting and contentious decision when, as they are ready to pack up and leave, they are joined by a mysterious visitor...who is it? What happens next?
Ron comes to the table with an idea to do a sitcom-off where we nominate sitcoms and whittle them down to the best. But then he introduces the bizarre rules and no one can get past them. Recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak 4/21/16.
Three Geeks bring some fun discussion. Plus Jeff and Scott have an Amazon video off, and Scott gets served an...unusual culinary composition... Recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 4/7/16
Three of the four geeks are on hand tonight as they discuss. among other things, the upcoming Batman v Superman. Hey, I told you these episodes were old... Recorded in a spacious booth at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 3/31/16
Okay, which guy was the Yeeeeeeess? Guy? Was it Mr. Whipple? Wasn't he also Lucy's boss on the New Lucy Show? We're so confused. This episode of D4G recorded live 3/24/16 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak.
Scott, Jeff, Ryan, and Just Ron are joined by Guest Geek Thomas as the Geeks discuss Ron's appearances on other podcasts. The envelopes come up, plus Ron disses the Temple of Doom. A fight breaks out.
Ryan nearly burns himself and his dad to death. We talk Hot Toys. More Deadpool conversation... This episode of D4G was recorde 2/25/16 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak.
Yes, another episode that has been begging to be released. The countdown to the final episode continues.
Way more sick than "It's awesome!" ever thought of being. Stick it through and you'll hear what may be the worst thing out comic shop owning mentor ever said to us when we were teenagers.
What's this?! A NEW Dinner 4 Geeks?! Well, not as such, but it's been sitting around for a couple of years yearning to burst out, so we're letting it become one with the world. It's just the two of them--Scott and Ron--and when that happens things get dark quickly and this one is no exception. This episode of Dinner 4 Geeks was recorded 2/4/2016 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak, Brunswick, GA.
What is the definition of a spinoff? We tackle that question. Ryan is a gift-giver. And somebody hasn't seen Godfather, but we can't remember who...This one gets damned politically incorrect as it progresses. This Episode of Dinner 4 Geeks was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak in Brunswick, GA on 1/28/16
Did you think we were gone for good? Well, we more or less are, but we've recently recovered some files that will enable us to continue telling the story of the demise of D4G. This is a fun dinner that pays tribute to fellow podcasters Professor Alan and Trentus Magnus. That and the minutia of pop culture are dissected as usual. This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood Restaurant on 1/23/16
Just two days after Jeff unveils his wedding plans there's another dinner. This time, Steve Glosson has made his way into Brunswick to record a Force Awakens commentary. They plan on it being the first one to hit the internet but they're beaten to the punch by Rebel Force Radio by a day. Ron and Jeff are unavailable, so Ryan, Steve, and Scott grab Thomas to join them at Barbara Jean's. Steve and Ryan have had a simmering feud boiling for a few weeks and once they come face to face...nothing. But it does result in some very good action figure talk. Now, let me warn you that Barbara Jean's is a great restaurant, but it's also a tad noisy, so some sections of this podcast are more difficult to hear than usual (and that's saying something!). This Episode of D4G was recorded 1/16/16 at Barbara Jean's Restaurant on St. Simons Island.
Here it is! It's been talked about for over a year, and now you can experience it firsthand. The event that nearly tore D4G apart. The event that left repercussions on the D4Gverse that continue to this day! This is the first step on the road to D4G-Civil War! This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 1/14/16.
Of all the tasteless episodes of D4G, this may be the tastelessest. The gang reconvenes after taking a break over the holidays. The previous recording session had been on the evening of the Force Awakens's premiere. A variety of topics are covered herein, but it all keeps coming back to the tastelessness. This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 01/07/16.
We have finally broken into the ranks of those rich podcasters and gotten a sponsor! No, not really. We would love to have you on as a sponsor if you would like, but we doubt McDonald's will be that sponsor. Especially after they hear the stories in this episode. Plus! Permanent Guest Geek Matt, Ron, Ryan, and Scott go over their Core 4 quotable movies. Plus, the sad, sad story of Caddyshack II... This episode of D4G was recorded 11/20/14 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak in Brunswick, GA.
It's a guest geek gala galore as Jeff brings not one but two guest geeks to the table! His wife Susan and her cousin Robbie sit and have a geeky dinner with Jeff, Scott and Ron and have a robust discussion about the meaning of "The Last Jedi." Film tourism also plays a role in the discussion. It's all fun and totally geeky! This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 2/2/17.
Going through the files, I found THIS! It's a show that's a little over two years old. Recored during Jeff's hiatus, this episode features, Ryan, Ron, Scott, and Matt Colvin! It was recorded the day in November of 2014 that the title, The Force Awakens was released. You'll hear our first reactions upon hearing the title! Can't wait for the movie to come out! This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steaks in brunswick, GA on 11/06/14. geeks@dinner4geeks.com ronsbeard@dinner4geeks.com
Ron and Scott have been abandoned by Ryan and Jeff just when the name of the new Star Wars movie is announced. They decide to discuss it anyway. Plus they get into an appreciation of Curtis Armstrong. Then Scott decides to rapid-fire quiz Ron on 80s independent comics. Ron surprises even Scott.
Ryan isn't well, because he's set to have a root canal the next day. What can the guy do to cheer him up? Not much, to be honest. But that doesn't stop them from having another robust geek talk that begins with the new Savannah semi-pro baseball team and ends with The Space Giants. The mid section? A recap of the experiences of Brusnwick, GA during the making fo the Ben Affleck flop Live By Night. This episode of D4G was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 11/5/15
Dinner 4 Geeks Episode 125: Monkeying Around It’s just two geeks this week, as Scott and Ron sit down to a dinner and let their minds wander in a stunning display of cogent stream of consciousness. However, it always winds up circling around to monkeys. Or Hitler, but I think that was a given. Plus we talk about: Absorbine, Jr. Greg Brady’s move to the attic Dan Curtis’s Ouvre George Romero’s Mar’in We try to sort out the difference between Timothy and Joseph Bottoms Ronald’s eBay find of a Planet of the Apes short story collection The Hitler Rap This edition of D4G was actually recorded this year! 1/12/17 at Zachry’s Seafood and Steak. geeks@dinner4geeks.com
Inspired by the once upon a time ABC "black" Odd Couple sitcom, Scott begins envisioning multi-ethnic recasting of classic TV shows. The, er, ahem, upcoming Peanuts movie is discussed. Ryan shares painful anecdotes about the time Jack Davis moved to Georgia. the G-Man enjoys some background time and Mrs. Shaw shows up as well...
The Geeks had a reaction to the trailer for the Force Awakens. You know, the one that aired during Monday Night Football? The one that was, like, over a year ago? They also discuss how they plan to end the show when the day finally comes to put this podcast out of its misery. Jeff and Scott compare notes on having seen John Cleese and Eric Idle live in two different cities the same week. They also talk Football, Ac/DC, the Cult, Jimmy Page, Concerts, and a whole bunch of other stuff Ryan won't participate in discussing.
The Geeks are joined by Uncle Daddy as they discus the 2015 San Diego Comic Con 9yes, it's an older dinner). And they wait, while Jeff takes care of business so Scott can give him his birthday gift. It's worth the price of admission. This episode of D4G was recorded live at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 7/09/15. http://zachrys-restaurant.com
The Geeks bid fond(ish) farewell to 2016 along with guest geek Thomas! We talk Carrie Fisher and the Twitter controversies surrounding her death, more Rogue One discussion, and more geekiness s we close out the year and look forward to a new one...one that may actually have some episodes.
Join Steve Glosson (Geek Out Loud!), Shazbazzar (TechnoRetro Dads), and DInner 4 Geeks cast member Scott Ryfun as they take in a screening of Rogue One and offer their insightful wit and commentary. You may never see Rogue One the same way again. Feel free to download this track, plug in your earbuds, and take it into your local theater for your next screening of Rogue One. We even include instructions for syncing the film to the podcast! Or you can listen to it as a standalone commentary, your call. During the end credits we discuss the news (which had JUST come out as we were working on this) of the passing of Carrie Fisher. Find the GOLiverse at geekoutonline.com. Find TechnoRetro Dads at Retrozap.com If you're reading this you've already found Dinner 4 Geeks. Send feedback to geeks@dinner4geeks.com
It's a Christmas Miracle! Not an imaginary story! Not a hoax! The Geeks are back and they're talking about Rogue One! They're also exchanging Christmas gifts. Wait till you hear it! This episode of D4G was recorded live at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com Send feedback to geeks@dinner4geeks.com
Enjoy the holidays with this new take on a Christmas classic! D4G's own Scott Ryfun plays George Bailey, Doug and PB&J Otter creator Jim Jinkins plays Clarence the Angel, and Deal or No Deal winner and former Brunswick, GA Mayor Bryan Thompson plays Joseph and Mr. Potter. A very talented local Brunswick, GA cast helps bring this tale to life!
This episode has been sitting completed for a few months, but I was waiting until we got a few more finished to put it out. HOWEVER, our beloved Mark Kalmbach proclaimed us "late" and I don't think he meant we were behind schedule. I think he thought we were dead. Well, we may be dying, but we're not dead yet. This episode of D4G was recorded live 6/25/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak.
A Week of Geeks concludes, but we'll be back soon! Harry Shearer is leaving the Simpsons?!? Say it ain't so! And is there REALLY more than one way to pronounce Cap'n Crunch?! This episode of D4G was recorded 5/14/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com
Yes, ANOTHER D4G, as a Week of Geeks continues! In this episode, Scott tells a tale of a Free Comic Book Day tragedy and why he didn't make it this year. Ron, on the other hand, DID make it and shares the results of his haul. Ryan, who keeps swearing off Star Wars collecting allllllllmost bought an ANOVO Stormtrooper costume. This episode of D4G was recorded 5/07/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com geeks@dinner4geeks.com Don't forget to rate us on iTunes!
A Week of Geeks continues unabated! The Geeks delve into a HUGE variety of topics! The, er, upcoming? Fant4stic movie, the ACTUALLY STILL upcoming Batman V Stiviano, Christopher Nolan, Kingsmen, the Flash, Green Day, and Scott's refusal to give Jimi Hendrix an ounce of credit for anything. This episode of Dinner 4 Geeks was recorded 4/23/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steaks. http://zachrys-restaurant.com geeks@dinner4geeks.com ronsbeard@dinner4geeks.com whatsitcalled@dinner4geeks.com
A Week of Geeks continues with ANOTHER original episode! The Geeks get into a discussion of warehouse finds of old Star Wars toys and their White Whales of collecting. Which of course segues into bucket list concerts the Geeks still want to see. Which somehow leads to white guys you get confused with each other?!? This episode D4G was recorded 4/9/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com
A Week of Geeks Continues! Scott talks about the brand new GTX theater that opened that morning in Brunswick. This leads to a discussion of John Hughes films. And Jeff's obsession with covers of songs by artists he hates. This episode of D4G was recorded 4/2/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak http://zachrys-restaurant.com
A Week of Geeks Continues! Ron has finally watched The Returned and he and Scott have to compare notes. The gang then launches into a discussion of little-known spinoffs of television shows. We continue to fight over the pronunciation of the word "GIF." AND we FINALLY answer an email question from a listener: What if Star Wars: A New Hope had flopped? The question came to us from the podcast Almost Educational. The topic is discussed in episode 27 https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/almost-educational/id898635818?mt=2 This episode of D4G was recorded live on 03/19/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steaks http://zachrys-restaurant.com
Here it is! For those of you who have been patient with us as we allowed real life to interfere with our release schedule, we're rewarding (punishing?) you with A Week of Geeks! Each day for the next week, you'll hear a brand new episode of Dinner 4 Geeks. That means you'll get seven episodes in a row, more than we released in the second half of last year! And these episodes go wayyyyy back. See, it's not that we haven't been having dinner. We just haven't had the time to edit the dinners into a somewhat listenable podcast. We're not promising the release schedule will be roses from here out, but we CAN say that we have over 30 dinners we haven't released and we're still recording nearly every single week, so we still have a lot to say! A lot of it is redundant and inane, but we use a lot of words when we do it. In this episode, Scott thinks it'll be a neat idea to give his fellow geeks some prizes if they can answer Star Wars trivia questions. However, he buys a cheap ebook to get the questions from and the book proves near-incomprehensible! Stubborn to the end, Scott refuses to drop and the Geeks embark upon a maddening, frustrating Star Wars trivia quiz. This Episode of D4G was recorded on 10/15/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com.

Special thanks to Ryan Shaw. Also, I've been doing this podcast completely at my own expense for a year and a half now, and I've decided I want something for it. No, I don't want money. The best I'll get is a t-shirt. See, I've decided I want to be a Rancho Recruiter! All you have to do is go to ranchoobiwan.org and become a supporter, mentioning that Scott Ryfun referred you. It's only $40 a year, and you get exclusive access to tour tickets at Ranch Obi-Wan, as well as exclusive merchandise, not to mention a super-cool membership kit and a creative Christmas card! And if you don't want me to get the t-shirt, that's fine. Please become a member anyway. You won't regret it. Scott
We valiantly tried to be the first podcasters to put a commentary track for The Force Awakens online. Steve Glosson and Scott made plans and set a date to record, and THEN Rebel Force Radio beat them to the punch. The boys decided to soldier on anyway. Listen and enjoy! Take it to theater with you and listen the next time you watch TFA! This commentary recorded 1/16/16 at a secret undisclosed location.
One thing I'll say about this episode, it is probably the most immediate of the 78 bazillion Force Awakens recaps out there. The Geeks (minus Ron; long story) travel a couple of hours to St. Augustine to catch the first show on The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D, and then immediately hit a restaurant to do what they do best--er, well--er, often, and that's voice boisterous opinions over meals. NOTE: The background music is a bit louder than usual, as we were seated at a much larger table than usual (we all brought our families) and we were placed directly under a LOUD speaker. This episode of D4G was recorded 12/17/15 at Cheesecake Factory, St. John's Towne Center, Jacksonville, FL.
Glynn Academy's exciting third-round playoff game on the road in Stockbridge! 11/27/15

Going through some older files the other day, I came across this episode that was never cleaned up and released. I finally figured out why: it conflicted with our one and only attempt at a Final 4 Geeks contest. However, once I opened it and began to work on it, I found it to be the dirtiest, filthiest, nastiest episode we've ever recorded. We ate while we recorded it. You might not want to while you listen! This episode of D4G was recorded 03/13/14 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com .
It's Dinner 2 Geeks again, as Jeff and Ryan are unavailable and Ron and Scott refuse to let the show go away! Scott talks about a new theme song for his talk show and others' reactions. A little tiny Force Friday recap sort of makes its way into the discussion. They then bemoan modern-day workplace woes. Ron has raves about the new Shout Factory internet channel. Scott has to give Ron some Episode I explanations. Some of them...are better than others... THis episode of Dinner 4 Geeks was recorded at Zachry's Seafood and Steak on 9/10/15. http://zachrys-restaurant.com
Get ready for this one! One of the things that interests people is all the places people's Star Wars stories are the same and where they're different. Riley Blanton's story is about as different a Star Wars Story as we've ever heard. Like last episode's Justin Bolger, Riley was raised overseas, but Riley lived in Pakistan. It's strange, it's funny, it's touching! It's Riley Blanton's Star Wars Story!
You know how somehtings just have a way of taking D4G totally off the rails? Which is why you love us right? Well, they guys try to talk about the D23 announcement of a Star Wars Land at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. But that only leads Scott to childhood memory of a Scooby Doo episode wherein they visit a Westworld-type amusement park. Ron thinks he's full of baloney, but is he...? This episode of D4G was recorded 8/20/2015 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak in Brunswick, GA http://zachrys-restaurant.com
Ryan is featured in the latest Target Share the Force ad! No, we're not kidding! Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOv3Qi7Vr5g He's the kid holding the Greedo! The Geeks also get into a conversation about Jeff's preparations to pop the question and about his ring. This episode of D4G was recorded live 08/27/15 at Zachry's Seafood and Steak. http://zachrys-restaurant.com
