“This isn't like a conference you go to and just listen to people give presentations, this is interactive. You're actually solving real world problems and working together to come up with those solutions. {You} have everyone at the table, really why you want to join is so you can be at the table and direct the future of our industry.” In this conversation, Devon Tilly and co-host Nathan Wood chat with Todd Sutton from Zachary Corporation! This podcast is a part of a series of episodes that will be coming out from now until Spring 2025 covering the AEC Summit in Austin, Texas April 23rd – 25th 2025. We encourage our listeners and partners to share and engage with us during this conference coverage! With over 35 years of construction industry service with Zachry Corporation, Todd has supported various business units and industry markets in finding user-inspired, process-based solutions through the implementation of technologies or construction methods to assist in project execution. He is an enthusiastic advocate for workforce initiatives, participating in Zachry's Career Exploration Program internship for high school students. At Zachry Corporation, he works on R&D to improve processes, as well as on the technologies that enable these improvements. He is currently involved in several industry data exchange standards, primarily focused on openBIM IFC efforts and FHWA, AASHTO, and State DOT-led digital delivery efforts. Co-host Nathan Wood understands how rewarding the design and construction process can be when technology and culture embrace a new era of innovation. Nathan first earned his reputation as an industry thought leader in 2011, sharing his award-winning implementation of virtual design and construction (VDC) while working on integrated project delivery (IPD) healthcare projects. Nathan strives to share the best practices and lessons learned he's gathered from over 100 project teams spanning the US, Europe, and the Middle East. These experiences have taught him that when it comes to adopting technology in construction, it's not one size fits all. For that reason, Nathan founded SpectrumAEC with a clear goal — solving the human barriers to new process and technology adoption. As SpectrumAEC's founder and chief enabling officer, Nathan helps organizations and project teams successfully adopt change through executive strategy sessions and end user workshops. Nathan continues to support industry progression through conference presentations, academic papers, and as President of the Construction Progress Coalition. Today we had the very exciting and interesting opportunity to visit with Russell Hagen, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Weyerhaeuser. Russell is responsible for Weyerhaeuser's real estate, energy and natural resources businesses. Prior to his appointment as Chief Development Officer, Russell served as Chief Financial Officer from 2016 – 2021. Weyerhaeuser is the largest private owner of timberlands in North America, with 10.5 million acres in the US and 14 million acres licensed in Canada. In addition to timber products, Weyerhaeuser's businesses include recreation, real estate, land and minerals, wood products, and climate solutions, including renewable energy development, forest carbon and CCS, and carbon credits. We were thrilled to visit with Russell. In our discussion, Russell shares background on the history and scale of Weyerhaeuser and their business segments, Weyerhaeuser's sustainable forestry practices, the company's natural climate solutions business unit and ambitious growth targets for the business (aiming to grow the unit's EBITDA to $100 million by 2025), and the current state and pricing of voluntary carbon credits. We discuss Weyerhaeuser's strategy for maintaining high quality and credible carbon projects, the company's partnership with Carbon Direct, Weyerhaeuser's approach to acquisitions and the return profile for timber investments, forest management and sustainability, Russell's approach to strategic development as a former CFO, the natural climate solutions market, and solar and carbon capture projects. We explore factors in determining good locations for forest carbon projects, balancing carbon projects with timber operations, growing recognition and demand for nature-based solutions, particularly among tech companies, technological innovations including the potential for innovations in bioengineering and alternative fuels derived from wood fiber, and the potential for significant innovation and capital investment in both nature-based and technological solutions for carbon management in the future. It was our pleasure to host Russell and we greatly enjoyed the discussion. Mike Bradley kicked us off by highlighting that over the last 7-8 trading days, the 10-year bond yield has been stuck in a narrow trading range of ~4.25%. There could be some fireworks in the bond market on Friday when the all-important PCE Deflator report drops. WTI price rallied another $3/bbl this past week and pushed WTI price to ~$81/bbl. Global oil demand, rather than supply, seems to be the biggest catalyst to break WTI price out of its recent trading band of $70-$90/bbl. He noted natural gas price has pulled back to ~$2.75/M despite a hot weather outlook and that lower-48 dry gas production has rebounded from a recent trough below 99bcfpd back up to over 101bcfpd, which could prove problematic in reducing the huge current gas storage surplus. Broader markets continue posting new highs as they follow the direction of AI/Tech equities. Broader equities seem to be running on fumes/losing trading momentum as broader market indices (S&P 500 & Nasdaq) still remain technically overbought. Energy was by far the best-performing S&P sector this past week (+4%). He noted YTD performance of Timber Companies, S&P Timber REITs, S&P Materials Sector and REITs Index and rounded out the conversation by highlighting performance (YTD, 1yr, 2yr & 3yr) in EU Carbon Permits. Todd Scruggs flagged the recent bankruptcy of Zachry and subsequent layoffs, highlighting the scale and complexity of industrial projects and the inflationary forces involved (Zachry press release linked here). Thanks again to Russell for joining us and a special thank you to the whole Weyerhaeuser team for their help with making this episode possible. Our b

Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.07.17.549364v1?rss=1 Authors: Dinckol, O., Zachry, J. E., Kutlu, M. G. Abstract: Empathy is the ability to adopt sensory and emotional states of others and is an evolutionarily conserved trait among mammals. In rodents, empathy manifests itself as social modulation of aversive stimuli such as acknowledging and acting on distress of conspecifics. The neuronal network underlying social transmission of information is known to overlap with the brain regions that mediate behavioral responses to aversive and rewarding stimuli. In this study, we recorded single cell activity patterns of nucleus accumbens (NAc) core neurons using in vivo optical imaging of calcium transients via miniature scopes. This cutting-edge imaging methodology not only allows us to record activity patterns of individual neurons but also lets us longitudinally follow these individual neurons across time and different behavioral states. Using this approach, we identified NAc core single cell ensembles that respond to experienced and/or observed aversive stimuli. Our results showed that experienced and observed aversive stimuli evoke NAc core ensemble activity that is largely positive, with a smaller subset of negative responses. The size of the NAc single cell ensemble response was greater for experienced aversive stimuli compared to observed aversive events. Our results also revealed a subpopulation within the NAc core single cell ensembles that show a bidirectional response to experienced aversive stimuli versus observed aversive stimuli (i.e., negative response to experienced and positive response to observed). These results suggest that the NAc plays a role in differentiating somatosensory experience from social observation of aversion at a single cell level. This has important implications for psychopathologies where social information processing is maladaptive, such as autism spectrum disorders. Copy rights belong to original authors. There's a huge market on the internet for podcasts about conspiracies. I've never gotten into that genre on this show, but I couldn't help it when my experts today showed up with exclusive information about the most famous assassination in modern history. My guests today are Katana Zachry & Sara Peterson. These two are responsible for "The Lone Star Speaks", a book that is providing a wealth of new information compiled from all new sources after the Legal Restrictions, Confidentiality Agreements, and Non-Disclosures on sharing information finally ran out all these decades later. And while most people know the story of President JFK's assassination, I had to do a lot more research to get through this topic because: Boy oh boy is it a dense name salad of conspiracy theories! Thankfully, Last Podcast On The Left did a great series that made it much easier to learn some of the harder parts of the theories out there. We try our best to keep it simple so everyone can follow, but here's a quick rundown of a couple key things in case you don't recognize them: "LBJ or Johnson" refers to President Lyndon B Johnson who took over as President after the assassination. And "The Warren Report" is the government's official conclusion to what happened during the events before, during, and after the killing of the President (It's also notoriously riddled with errors of all kinds). Also, sorry this episode is a release day late, but because of all the information and the need to discuss misconceptions, this ended up as one of the longest episodes I've ever done. Almost to the point that I considered making it a two part episode, but just couldn't find a good place to cut it. And I had entirely forgotten to announce that I was at the National Publicity Summit on Thursday, which took up my editing time but will allow for more cool guests in the future! Let's not kill any presidents... please. If you enjoyed the episode, please take a brief moment to rate the show five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. If you really like what I'm doing, remember to subscribe for more episodes every week and check out the over one hundred episode backlog! Let me know what you'd like to hear next by reaching out and emailing me: DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or send a message to me on any of the show pages: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or wherever else. I am always looking for new topics, guest ideas, and questions from the audience. Updated March rankings as we reach the last week haven't changed at all. The numbers are going up rapidly, but also evenly with: 1. The United States, with Oregon, Texas, and Washington as top states. 2. The United Kingdom. 3. Australia, led by Victoria. 4. Canada, with Ontario as top province. 5. Sweden, led by Stockholm. That's it for today! I'll see you all back here on Thursday for a musical episode! ...Don't expect singing though.
She was told not to become a mother; that her mental illness would render her insufficient, and she said, "I will do whatever it takes to be a mom. A GOOD mom." How inspiring is that?!Amelia Zachry just published her debut memoir, Enough: A Memoir of Mistakes, Mania, and Motherhood. She might be one of the wisest moms I've interviewed. Without getting into her past, Amelia shared an up close and personal look at the journey of healing she's undergone to meet her own needs without shame or guilt or fear so that she can not only meet her kids' needs but listen to them, learn from them and ENJOY motherhood. At the end of the episode she speaks with so much heart to other mothers struggling with mental illness, and if that's you - promise me you'll stick around to hear it. I had the pleasure of speaking with Amelia recently. Her book - ENOUGH - A Memoir of Mistakes, Mania, and Motherhood - will be published today, October 18, 2022. Below is a synopsis. What Enough means to me… Enough is a book of hope and of inspiration. It was written as a heartfelt outpouring of my voice newly found to share insights on the plights that are sexual assault, mental illness and all the stigma that surrounds us. It has taken me years of healing to come to a place where I am able to convey these stories. Fear, shame and guilt cloak me most days but with peace and healing, I overcome again and again. This is my story but it is also the story of so many women who have come before me. Inspired by their strength and courage in survival, I stand in their shelter to tell my story. Enough is a book that I wish allows readers with similar experiences to resonate with and find the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, a book I hope helps those who live with loved ones with bipolar or PTSD to gain understanding on its realities. For others, a source of descriptions of these stark realities to then stand together with us to end the stigma, or at least not be part of the stigma in action. The topics touched on in Enough are rarely pleasant and may get uncomfortable, but important nonetheless. I believe that talking about them will bring about healthy discourse amongst readers to battle the stigmas. Website and phone numbers are below. ------ Amelia Zachry was born and raised in Malaysia. She obtained a bachelor of commerce, majoring in marketing from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. When she met her husband, she moved to live with him in Japan, then Canada. During her time in Canada she obtained a bachelor's in human ecology with a concentration in family studies from the University of Western Ontario. She began writing her debut memoir after finding her voice, bringing to light secrets she had kept. Secrets of sexual assault and subsequently bipolar disorder that she suffers from. She is an advocate for mental health and sexual assault awareness, supporting causes to dismantle rape culture and normalize mental health. She maintains a blog where she writes regularly on topics of mental health, sexual assault awareness, immigration, and parenting. When she's not writing, she can be found tending to her many house plants or hiking with her husband and two daughters. Amelia currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky. Content warning: sexual assault and suicidal ideation. Today I'm talking with Amelia Zachry, author of Enough - A Memoir of Mistakes, Mania, and Motherhood. She is a survivor of, and advocate for, sexual assault and bipolar disorder. In this episode, she's sharing her authentic story about how sexual assault turned her life upside down and how it took her years to move past her shame and start her healing journey. What to Listen For: Her life before sexual assault How sexual assault affected her life as she knew it "I thought that I had done something wrong and I placed all the blame on myself." Not feeling like herself after the assault Isolating herself and why she felt the need to do this Spiraling into irresponsible and maladaptive behaviors as a trauma response Learning that she had bipolar disorder which had been triggered by the assault "A chain of things spiral happened right after that incident." Her first experience in trying to tell someone what had happened "I did open up to somebody before, who was my college professor who actually said to me, ‘if you hadn't been hanging out with thugs, this wouldn't have happened.' And so after that, I kind of refrained from trying to tell people what happened, but also mostly because I felt shameful. I felt like people would view me poorly if I were to share the story." Opening up to those she trusted years later Her husband's reaction when she told him about the assault The phases she went through after the assault and how she reclaimed her power The biggest catalyst of her healing How therapy helped her begin to process “In therapy, I realized that it was a violation." How her Uncle helped her find hope "He was able to give me a vision of a life that is worth living." Living the stigma of bipolar disorder Her journey to realizing and accepting that she needed help Processing and healing through her writing Understanding that trauma and healing are a journey What she would tell her younger self There are no wrong cards About Amelia Zachry: Amelia Zachry is the author of Enough - A Memoir of Mistakes, Mania, and Motherhood. She is a survivor of sexual assault and bipolar disorder. Enough chronicles Amelia's struggles with PTSD and bipolar as she finds solid ground to stand on now that she has broken the silence. Conspiracy fatigue has settled over the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy on November 22nd 1963. Yet it remains difficult for some to get their head around the thought of a ne'er do well barely holding down a minimum wage job in a school book wharehouse toppling one of the most admired presidents of the 20th century. Our guests Sara Peterson and Katanna Zachry are instructors in the MC Language Hub at Midland College. As scholars, they interviewed roughly 140 individuals who had been close to the crime or the individuals who possibly participated in the murder of the president on that fateful Dallas afternoon. And while they are no fans of the Warren commission report, they do not take a position on who may have been responsible. Instead, their fascinating book presents the events from the eyes and words of the historical figures who lived it and allows the reader to draw their own conclusions. This is the first of three episodes we will be releasing about JFK this month! Both authors became interested in President Kennedy's assassination at a young age. Zachry's grandparents lived in Dallas in 1963, and saved newspapers from that era. Her grandfather was connected to the Dallas oil industry. Peterson became interested in the assassination in 1978 when she participated in the Presidential Classroom for Young Americans program in Washington, D. C. The two have collected books and artifacts concerning the assassination for years. Both are currently employed by Midland College. The Lone Star Speaks began with a presentation the authors made to the West Texas Historical Symposium in 2014. The presentation soon expanded into a four-year research project that resulted in the authors finding and interviewing more than 150 individuals.Among the most intriguing is Robert T. Davis, who was the Assistant Attorney General in Texas in 1963. As an attorney who was sent to help interview Warren Commission witnesses, Davis immediately sensed that the official investigation was a "whitewash." Davis was one of the first to suggest that the investigation should include Jack Ruby's contacts with Mafia members.Other witnesses whom the authors located include a Lyndon Johnson staff member who was directed by the new President to serve as his eyes and ears in Dallas after the assassination. She personally reported Oswald's death immediately to President Johnson on November 24, 1963.Still another previously unknown witness (who even today insists on anonymity) was part of at least two "abort teams" in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Working with a U. S. Marshall in Dallas that day, he attempted to tell the FBI that more than one assassin had been firing at the President. More than a half-century later, he is still bitter that his information was ignored by officials.Other individuals who have helped the authors add information to the Kennedy assassination puzzle include a personal female friend of President Kennedy, and another woman who spent the late hours of November 21, 1963 with Jack Ruby. The authors also uncovered several individuals who can personally vouch for the fact that there was and is a Dixie/Texas Mafia, and that it may have been involved with the Kennedy assassination. The Lone Star Speaks provides new insights into the assassination of John F. Kennedy and uses actual witness testimony to raise new questions concerning what many have called "the crime of the twentieth century."Support the show (https://www.salsersmith.com/shop)
As I interview Amelia, we go deep into trauma and how writing it all changed her point of view, healed her, and gave her voice back. "I got so much more than a healing; I found my voice!" The act of expressive writing lights up your neurology and everything connected to deeper negative emotions, limiting beliefs, and trauma. A writer automatically has a third-person view while writing it all out, which alters the trauma; there is a lesson that allows the beliefs behind the trauma to be rewritten. As you write the book, blog, or journal entry, your brain is rewriting the actual memory. The rewriting of past events is cathartic and leads to a deeper transformation than you could ever imagine. Amelia Zachry: I suffered a major trauma; rape at age 19. The immense trauma from being ostracized and shamed brought to surface Bipolar Disorder to pair my diagnosis of PTSD. The manic and depressive states of bipolar disorder color my sense of being, mothering and relationships. My story is one rife with pain and struggles to function in a world my mind will not align to during the sprinkling of episodes. I hope my memoir will help others going through the same grief or those with loved ones coping with this pain, to find solace and comfort in a possibility of a life with the pain. A functioning life that is ours. Somewhere in America, every 2 minutes, a woman is raped. National surveys of adults suggest that between 9-32% of women and 5-10% of men report that they were victims of sexual abuse and/or assault during their childhood. Despite the fact of these harrowing tragedies, our ever vigilant efforts as a society, and of what we now know as the “#MeToo” movement- We still witness such a confounding and painfully small reduction in the frequency by which these ghastly atrocious acts against another occur. Often feeling the shocking pull of rape culture. Enough is enough. Our answer- Become the solution. Our guest today- Amelia Zachry, knows all to well the painful scar left on ones soul as victim of rape and sexual assault. Having experienced for over twenty years, the trauma first hand trauma inflicted by this most handouts and horrific act. Her struggles of overcome such adversity and the stigma are never-ending, yet today, she has found the light to prevail. Welcome to UnforMETable, an Amazin' Avenue Audio show that looks back on less heralded, more obscure Mets players from the past. Pat Zachry hit the ground running in his major league career—winning a share of the 1976 National League Rookie of the Year award while winning a dame in each of the NLCS and the World Series with the Cincinnati Reds. Zachry would go from first to last in mid-1977 when the struggling Big Red Machine matched up with a dysfunctional Mets organization on a trade that would send Zachry and three others to New York in exchange for the iconic Tom Seaver. Between the infamy of the trade and his struggles with injuries, Zachry would never fully settle in or be embraced, but he flashed some solid pitching at times—though his record would often not reflect that as he toiled for some horrible Mets teams. As always, you can listen or subscribe to this and all of our wonderful Amazin' Avenue Audio podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, or listen wherever you get podcasts. If you've got an idea for a player to be featured on UnforMETable, let us know in the comments. Sound. Do you hear it? Do you hear the conversation of geese overhead, the distant bark of a dog at dusk, or the buzzing of a bee as it dances beside a flower one windy day? Does God hear these things too? I wonder if it is our lack of praise that causes them to reach His ears.

Photo Credit: Mike Cohen I know that everyone in special education is scrambling to try and make things work during these unprecedented times, but a lot of parents and advocates are struggling to find the language necessary to move things in the right direction and keep entire IEP teams from coming apart at the seams. Our kids who require expert behavioral interventions appear to be losing the most ground. I want to speak to the families and advocates working with students who have behavioral needs by sharing the language of a communication that I recently had to submit on behalf of one of our families. It's altered, of course, to protect the identity of the student, but I think a lot of parents and advocates may be able to recycle this language to fit their own situations. Because so many families are in this same boat without an oar, we all need to share resources with each other so that we can be effective IEP team members. It shouldn't be on us to keep school district people from spinning out, but humans are humans regardless of who employs them and, particularly if you're a parent dealing with this on behalf of your kid, it in the best interests of your child to be the anchor that keeps the rest of the IEP team from drifting off course. Just to put things into perspective, this student is in a Special Day Class (SDC) with embedded mental health and behavioral supports, including a Positive Behavioral Intervention Plan (PBIP) in his IEP that identifies his target behaviors as: Refusing to follow staff directions by either not responding, putting his head down, making statements such as "this is stupid," "why do I have to do this?" or engaging in a different activity. Not surprisingly, this is what he is now doing at home during his school closure instead of participating in the online instruction. Below is a copy of the email exchange that includes the language you can hopefully repurpose if you are having to argue similar points on behalf of your own children or clients. The first bit is an email that the parent and I received from the student's special education teacher/case manager. The second bit is the reply I sent, which has now been forwarded to the district's main office and we're awaiting Prior Written Notice (PWN). For more information about PWN, please see the ad-free early release of our informative Quick Fix video on Patreon by clicking here. This video will be released on YouTube for free, but with ads, in a couple of weeks and run for 30 days on YouTube before retiring to our Quick Fix Video Archive on Patreon, but for the $2.99 monthly pledge to our Quick Fix Video Archive on Patreon, you have immediate and indefinite ad-free access to that information plus all of our other Quick Fix Videos. Because we've already published content on PWN, I'm not going to belabor it, here. I'm just going to get right into these emails and the language I hope at least some of you are able to repurpose and tweak to your own situations. So, here is the email that I and the parent received: Good morning, I hope ALL is well and you guys are staying safe and well. I was hoping you could help me with [Student's] participation in our weekly Google Meets. He declined the meeting again for tomorrow I really need to speak with him at least once a week. Thank you VERY much for your help. Be Well, [Case Manager] Now, here is what I wrote in response: [Case Manager], We would appreciate the District's help with this, as well. Behavior modification is supposed to be embedded in [Student's] specialized instruction as part of his placement, but that component is not being implemented in the home and no one who lives there is specifically trained, credentialed, or certified in the necessary expert disciplines. The District is responsible for FAPE, even now. The fact that [Student] is not receiving the behavioral interventions necessary to afford him equal access to education as that given to his peers without disabilities is directly reflected by his refusal behaviors in the absence of his social/emotional and behavioral supports from his SDC. The parent is not in any position to implement an expert level of positive behavioral interventions to facilitate [Student's] participation on her own. She is relying on the public agency funded by the taxpayers to deliver these interventions under a federal mandate to provide him with a FAPE, that being the District, to come up with these solutions. The parent requests an offer of appropriate behavioral interventions as part of a prospective offer of FAPE that addresses these immediate concerns or an offer of compensatory services that will be provided to remediate this behavioral and academic regression once school starts back in the Fall and the campuses are re-opened. We understand that these are difficult times, but regardless of the difficulties, [Student] still has a legal right to a FAPE and he isn't getting it. You asking his mother for help to facilitate his compliance with online learning given his unique circumstances inclines us to worry that the District doesn't know what to do and is grasping at straws. Any IEP team member that actually understands the complexity of [Student's] needs would already know that [Student] requires supports beyond what an average lay person would know to provide. While [Student's] mother absolutely wants to be part of the solution, she cannot be expected to deliver any kind of home instruction on par with what [Student] was previously receiving in the SDC, which was a step down in restrictiveness from his previous placement, and in which he had been participating for only a few months before the campuses all shut down. There is an overtly apparent need for an increased level of support to [Student] in the immediate present to avert significant behavioral and academic regression during the shut-down. The lack of an appropriate response from the District right now will create a significant compensatory education claim that [Student's] family will have to pursue in order to make him as whole as possible. We're not looking for a lawsuit, but if that is the only procedural mechanism the family has left to protect [Student], I will refer them to a qualified attorney. It is the District's burden to offer and render a FAPE. We remain ready to collaborate with the rest of the IEP team to come up with an appropriate solution, here, and avoid the need to involve attorneys. We would much rather sort this out than have to litigate. We want to see [Student] appropriately served as quickly as possible. [Student's] family will participate in IEP implementation during the shut-down to the degree they are able, with the full understanding that they do not have the training, experience, or professional expertise needed to competently support [Student] behaviorally and academically at home on their own. If his mother tells you that something that needs to be done is something they cannot do, they will expect the District to propose viable solutions to each such task. [Student] continues to require the expert services from which he was previously benefitting in the SDC and the effects of the absence of those expert services is apparent to all of us. We understand that these difficult times call for out-of-the-box thinking. So long as there is a viable plan for how to deal with this situation in place, whether it's through the immediate increase and/or modification of how current IEP services are provided, a plan for compensatory services upon the campus reopening, or a hybrid combination of these two options, the family can trust that everything will come out okay in the end, but we can't leave things so open-ended. That lack of predictability is part of what is causing [Student] to experience increased school-related anxiety and avoidance behaviors. The District has a legal obligation to make a firm offer of FAPE based on [Student's] present levels of performance in the immediate moment, as well as plan ahead for the next 12 months via the IEP process. We're not asking for anything other than what the regulations already promise and we're willing to be creative about how we achieve that as an IEP team given the unique circumstances. We await the District's PWN in response to the request made herein. Kindest regards, Anne M. Zachry, M.A. Ed. Psych. So, there you have it. What I see in all of this is a case manager who hasn't been given the tools and authority to do what needs to be done. I'm not frustrated with the case manager. I feel bad for him because he's being expected to somehow pull this off without the support of his employer. I wish I had the PWN to include, here, because I think it would be equally informative. That may become a future post topic. In the meantime, if you think you can recycle this language to create your own request letter to address similar issues with your own children or clients, please feel free. It isn't the work product of an attorney and I'm not putting this out there as formal legal advice. It's just a tool that might be useful to some people, but if it helps even one family, it's worth sharing.

The Two Gay Geeks chat with author, Zachry Wheeler about his next installment in the Immortal Wake Series, Thursday Midnight. This is the follow-up to Transient which we have talked about with Zachry previously. We also chat about all the silly stuff we have shared over the years with his Max and the Multiverse series. I have dubbed him the heir apparent to Douglas Adams. Have a listen and enjoy. About Zachry Wheeler From: http://www.zachrywheeler.com Each of my novels has a short “About the Author” section. Really short. Like, two lean sentences short, and one of them is a website. I have never been one to vomit my backstory onto unsuspecting readers. They are there to read a story, not hear me drone on about my idiosyncratic weirdness. Nevertheless, I do get asked about my writing history from time to time, which I am always happy to recap. Some people like to know these things, so I decided to document the tale for prosperity (read: keep my facts straight). Without further ado, here is my official, expanded, detailed, sanctioned, author-approved backstory. If you really want to know his story, here is the link: http://www.zachrywheeler.com/about-the-author-extended-edition/ Twitter @ZachryWheeler Available July 1st About Thursday Midnight Two years after betraying humanity and fleeing the city, Jonas and Anna remain in hiding. Their plans to remake society are slowly progressing, albeit under the constant threat of death. Victor Korovin is a NExUS agent tasked with eliminating the human scourge. After centuries in the field, his life as a feared enforcer has quieted. He lingers as an unused asset, trapped behind a desk in downtown Seattle. His accord with Jonas brought an end to the eternal war and marked the official extinction of the human race. The world has enjoyed a lasting peace ever since. That is, until a frightening new foe rises from the ashes. In our second segment we chat about our impressions of Thursday Midnight as well as talk about KD Edwards release of chapter one of a Tarot Sequence novelette entitled Sunken Mall. We also talk about CoKoCon coming up Labor Day Weekend. We also highlight recent articles posted to the tggeeks.com in the past week. As always we have our birthdays and we have the ever popular feedback segment. We welcome your feedback. Please, let us know what you think. Good or bad, we want to know and you could receive a shoutout in the feedback segment. Thank you for listening, we really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to spend with us.
