Autumn Shields felt her first big nudge in the eighth grade, to help others. It led her to a degree in Sociology/Psychology and her first career in law enforcement serving crime victims. That is when she learned that “nudge” wasn’t the only one she would experience. Over time, Autumn learned that ignoring those nudges turned her into a hot mess. Instead of surrendering to the nudges, she had a few out loud tantrums about what she wanted. She was uncomfortable and had to question everything she knew.  Autumn also learned that those nudges were guides to living her life fully alive. While building her professional career, Gladys also chose to become a Yoga instructor, Reiki Master, Integrated Energy Therapy practitioner and Access Bars Facilitator while learning from all kinds of modalities about meditation, embodiment, spirituality, etc.  And along the way, she also found the field of biohacking. Gladys loves learning and discovering new things. Enjoying twenty-four years of marriage and raising two amazing daughters, she is now diving deep into the world of quantum entanglements, vibrations and frequencies, and she is finding it to be mind-blowing. After many years of trying to ‘fit in’ she has learned to appreciate and own the ‘different’ that she is, and celebrate the ‘different’ of others. I mean really get that?  I fumbled around with that for a good while before it really started to register for me.  And I still fumble at times - quite a few times, actually. Inspired by her adventures with her dog, Sully, Marissa Martino began her career working with our canine companions after attending the Academy of Dog Trainers in 2007.  After graduation, she started working for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in Boulder, CO as their behavior & training coordinator.  During her time there, Marissa implemented a behavior modification program for shelter dogs with various special needs: such as fear, separation anxiety, resource guarding and dog-dog aggression.    After 2 years of working at the shelter, Marissa moved back to San Francisco, where she worked as the Training Programs Manager of SF Puppy Prep.  She used her extensive shelter experience to educate the public on the power of socialization and prevention of behavioral issues for puppies.   In 2011, she accepted the position as the Director of Behavior & Training for the East Bay SPCA in Oakland, CA.  She implemented a behavior modification program for the shelter dogs and cats as well as nine successful volunteer programs.  The program was recognized in Animal Sheltering magazine and in 2014, she presented at the Humane Society of United States Annual Conference on developing volunteer programs to help enrich the lives of shelter dogs. In addition to owning Paws & Reward, Marissa is also the Behavior Manager at the Dumb Friends League in Denver.  Marissa is certified through the Academy for Dog Trainers and the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers.  She is also a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
