Where Do We Go From Here? Times Change Where Do We Go From Here? Times change but God remains the same. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.” Times change but God remains the same. John 6:66-69 “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. 67 “Are you also going to leave?” Jesus asked the Twelve. 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” Where do we go from here? Times change but God remains the same.
“Open Our Eyes” 2 Kings 6:15-17 15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. 16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lordopened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, 2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 5:7 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Peace In The Storm Matthew 8:23-27 “Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. 24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” Storms Come Without Warning You Can Have Peace In The Storm John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Storms Test Your Faith You may have walked into the storm one way but you’re going to walk out stronger. You go into the storm one way but you come out stronger. James 1:2-4 “When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Jesus Will Get You Through The Storm The one who is for you is greater than the storm you go through. Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
What can I learn from this? This momentary pause in life has given us an opportunity to reevaluate, realign and prioritize our life around what matters most. What can I learn from this? A Renewed Gratitude For Life Social Media Isn’t Enough Hebrews 10:24-25 “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Health And Family Is True Wealth Mark 8:36 “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” We Need Jesus More Than We Think Philippians 4:12-13 “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” What can I learn from this?

Remember Me The future is uncertain to us but never uncertain to God. Remember Me When life seems out of control, God is still in control. Vision Sunday A Vision Worth Fighting For Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets so that a runner may run with it. For the vision awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” “Our vision is to reach thousands of people in the Rio Grande Valley and help them become followers of Christ.” Know God Find Freedom Discover Purpose Make a Difference John 17:3 “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” God doesn’t just want you to believe in him, he wants you to know Him. God doesn’t just want you to know him, he wants to help you find freedom. John 8:31-32 Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” God doesn’t just want you to know him and find freedom; he wants you to discover purpose. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.” The Lord is with you when you are with him. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” The Lord is with you when you are with him. 2 Chronicles 16:7-9 “At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.8 Were not the Cushites and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.” Giving Ladder: 0% - 3% Nothing to Something 3% - 7% Something to Significant 7% - 10% Significant to Tithing 10% - 15%+ Tithing to Sacrificial Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Growing in the grace of giving is act of faith that God blesses. Whatever you give to God, he multiplies. Mark 10:29-30 Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, 30 will receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.” Whatever you give to God, he multiplies. 2 Corinthians 9:6,8 “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously…And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” Whatever you give to God, he multiplies.

The world cannot accept him, because it doesn’t see him or know him. You know him, because he lives with you and will be in you.” You can’t do God’s will without God’s power. I’ve Got Issues The Choice Is Yours Romans 7:18 “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The key to overcoming your sinful nature is faith in Christ not faith in yourself. Galatians 3:1-3 “Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. 2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. 3 How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to finish by your own human effort?” Romans 8:5-6 “Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what the sinful nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind controlled by the sinful nature leads to death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit leads to life and peace.” The Choice Is Yours Galatians 5:25 “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
I’ve Got Issues I Am My Own Worst Enemy Romans 7:15-19 “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Galatians 5:17 “For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.” Romans 8:7-8 “For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.” Romans 8:6 “The mind controlled by the sinful nature leads to death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit leads to life and peace.” Romans 7:24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Romans 7:18 “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” Romans 7:25 “Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.” Love is not just something you feel it’s something you do. Ephesians 5:1-2 “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

The world cannot accept him, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he lives with you and he will be in you.” To live an uncommon life you need an uncommon power. John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Galatians 5:16 “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” Ephesians 1:13 “When you believed in Christ, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.” To live an uncommon life you need an uncommon power.
Uncommon Because Normal Isn’t Working Don’t settle for normal when you can be uncommon. Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” “If you want what normal people have, do what normal people do.
