We all have a picture in our minds of how life is supposed to look. And then—without warning—the dashboard goes nuclear. In this week's At The Movies message, we use the true story of Apollo 13 to explore what happens when your plans blow up. Because plans fall apart. In fact, Jesus promised they would. But He also promised something else — that He has already overcome the world.Whether you're in a season where everything feels off course, questioning why God's plan looks nothing like yours, or just wondering if the wreckage can ever be turned into something good — this message is for you.In this message you'll discover:Why God's purpose prevails even when your plans fall apartHow to use what's already on board — prayer, Scripture, community, and the Holy SpiritWhy following clear instruction matters more than finding new resourcesHow God turns your "successful failure" into your finest hourKey Scriptures: Proverbs 19:21, John 16:33, 2 Peter 1:3, Philippians 4:6-7, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 10:24-25, John 16:13, Hebrews 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Hey kids! It's an off week but I thought it might be fun to take a listen to a blast from the past!    Then we start off with At The Movies. The 1st flick we caught this week was The Nice Guys. A 70' Detective Movie with Ryan Gosling and Rus Crowe. It was directed by Shane Black and I loved it.   The second joint we took in was Neighbors 2. You know, I think it's actually the other way around. I think we saw Neighbors 2 first and then we moved onto Niee Guys. Either way, we saw them both and then we actually saw another movie. The main event movie of the week. X-Men Apocalypse..    This is a really fun episode with a major phone call from Pooptronics Media's Director Of New Media, A.B Silver...

Hey kids. This cold really through me off track. We will be back with a new episode next week. Until then.. Hey kids! Thanks for stopping by. We have a super fun show ahead of us this week. We start off with a call from A.B Silver about his Johnny Coin ICO and an amazing advertising opportunity he has for us. Engineer Emily pops in and a lot of fun is had.    From there we head into At The Movies where we take a look at a couple of different movies. The 1st one is called Hotel Artemis and the 2nd is the horror flick everyone is talking about, Hereditary. I saw it and I'll tell you all about it or at least what I thought of it.   Then it's on to the main event of the show where we take a look at something we all have at least a passing interest in, Dinosaurs. With Jurassic World on the way I thought this was the perfect time for some Dinosaur Talk! Dinos are great and this week I spend about half of an hour breaking down the Top Five Dinosaurs Of All The Times and Space.   We finish off the show with some toy talk and some flea market talk. Oh ya, there is a really long story about littering.

Growth is Messy Have you ever noticed how real growth is rarely clean—and how the messiest moments are often where the most transformation happens? What if spiritual maturity looked less like polished perfection and more like kneeling in the dirt with someone in pain? This week, we're reminded that Jesus didn't shy away from brokenness; He stepped into it. And when we do the same—when we give freely, show mercy, and love people where they are—we don't just reflect His heart; we help others grow into theirs.   John 8:1-11 Discussion topics Icebreaker - What stands out most to you in this story? Is it Jesus' posture, the crowd's reaction, the woman's silence, or something else?  Scripture Reflection (Read John 8:1-5) - a. Imagine being the woman in this story—dragged out in front of a crowd.  What emotions do you think she felt? (e.g., fear, shame, humiliation, anger, hopelessness)  b. Have you ever felt exposed or ashamed—like your worst moment was on display?  How did you respond? What did you need most in that moment?  Practical Application - Jesus offered mercy and a challenge: “Neither do I condemn you… Go now and leave your life of sin.”  How do we as believers balance grace and truth when walking with others? Personal Reflection - What areas of your life do you still carry the weight of guilt or shame?  How can you invite Jesus into that space the way the woman unknowingly did? Next Steps - Jesus didn't condemn, but He also didn't ignore her sin.  Is there someone in your life who needs you to be present with them—not with a stone in hand, but with compassion and clarity? Will you take time and intentionally invite them to sit with you during the At The Movies series in November? We Give Freely Have you ever let anger, pride, or offense write a chapter of your story you wish you could erase? In 1 Samuel 25, we meet three people who respond to conflict in three very different ways: Nabal, who hoards; David, who reacts; and Abigail, who gives. Their story asks us a simple but powerful question—when this season of your life is retold, what kind of story will it be? This week, Pastor David unpacks how generosity isn't just about what we give—it's about the kind of person we become. Because generosity doesn't just change what you give; it changes the story your life tells.  1 Samuel 25 Discussion topics Icebreaker - In every season, you'll meet a Nabal, need an Abigail, and battle the David within you. The question isn't which one you admire — it's which one you're becoming. Scripture Reflection (Read 1 Samuel 25:2-11) a. What stands out to you about Nabal's attitude and response? b. Where do you see a “Nabal mindset” show up in our culture today — or even in your own life? How does entitlement or fear keep us from being generous?  Practical Application - Think about a moment recently when you had to choose between reacting in anger or responding in wisdom. What did you learn from it? Where might God be calling you to live more generously — not just with money, but with your words, time, or grace? Personal Reflection (Read 1 Samuel 25:12-13 & 21-22) a. David went from patience (with Saul) to rage (with Nabal) in a single chapter. Why do you think that happened? b. When have you found yourself “strapping on your sword” — reacting instead of responding? What helps you pause before you make a decision that might write a story you'll regret?  Next Steps - Who is someone that God has placed on your heart to be an Abigail to?  Will you take time and intentionally invite them to sit with you during At The Movies?  Check out our other audio series and video playlists that can help you find Jesus in every moment and then discover what's next

Can God really use someone like me? In Episode 31 of Live Free, we kick off our At The Movies series with insights from Ford v Ferrari and Acts 4:13. Pastors Josh Howerton and Carlos Erazo are joined by Jana Howerton and Pamela Baltazar as they unpack how God uses everyday people for extraordinary purposes—not because of credentials, but because they've spent time with Jesus. Discover how to find your calling through affirmation, ability, and opportunity, and why faithfulness in small things matters more than you think. Whether you're serving behind the scenes or stepping out for the first time, this episode will inspire you to say “yes” to God's bigger plan.
