Have you ever shared the gospel with someone you loved and cared about and no matter how much you prayed and shared, they just wouldn’t accept Christ? It’s heartbreaking to see someone like this reject God, attempting to earn salvation when the salvation of Christ is extended before them as a gift of grace through faith. That was Paul’s heart for the Jewish people. Paul knew the gospel. Paul knew the Old Testament, and he was absolutely heartbroken for His people to find the same freedom that he found in Christ. More than this, to find the same righteousness that he had found, not through the Law of Moses but through faith in Jesus. Paul would not give up. He continued to pray and share, hoping in the power of the Spirit and the Word of God to open blind eyes. I pray you will make plans to join us this weekend as Paul gives us an example of an evangelistic heart while demonstrating the dramatic difference between a salvation based on works and salvation through faith in Christ. Curtains rip from the wall, bottles hurl into the bathtub, and a brother is chased from the shower—shampoo still in his hair—by violent bangs only he can hear. Yet the family swears the energy isn't hateful, just heartbreakingly persistent. Did Dad succeed in praying the child into the light, or is she still wandering the halls looking for help? One caller recounts the condo's escalating chaos—and her own love‑hate obsession with the paranormal. Bryce had a playful pet dog named Biscuit, who was always by his side. One day, the two friends decided to visit the carnival. That afternoon, they got ready, excited to explore the colorful festivities by evening. The carnival was vibrant and lively, with spinning cotton candy, fire breathers, and popcorn stalls filling the air with joy and excitement. Mesmerized by the fire breathers' dazzling performance, Bryce and Kyle lost track of everything around them, including Biscuit. In the bustling crowd, Biscuit wandered off, unnoticed. After some time, Bryce suddenly realized Biscuit was no longer with them. Worried, he turned to Kyle and asked, "Where's Biscuit?" They searched the carnival frantically, calling out his name, but Biscuit was nowhere to be found. Heartbroken, they returned home, feeling helpless.Bryce and Kyle went home sad. But the next morning determined not to give up , they started asking people in the neighborhood if they had seen Biscuit. They even asked the ice cream man, but he said, “I don't know your dog, but maybe I can help if you show me a picture.”Bryce said, “That's genius!” They ran back to Bryce's house, flipped the family photo album, and grabbed the adorable picture of Biscuit. Then they made big posters and put them all around the neighborhood, hoping somebody would recognize Biscuit.Exhausted but hopeful, they returned to Bryce's house and waited anxiously by the phone. The night passed without any news, and Kyle eventually said goodnight and went home. The next morning, while Bryce's parents enjoyed their morning tea, Bryce lay in bed, silently wishing for a miracle. Suddenly, the phone rang! He handed the phone to his dad, who spoke with the caller. The stranger on the line said, "I found your dog Biscuit. You can pick him up at the police station."Bryce called Kyle right away, and they got super excited. They rushed to the police station, and there was Biscuit, reclining on a couch like a king! Bryce and Kyle hugged Biscuit and said, “We missed you so much!” Then they took him home and gave him a bubble bath. From that day on, Bryce and Kyle promised never to lose Biscuit again!

Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHPrince Henry is a simple man — he just likes to fence and care for his daughter, Princess Rose, who is going through a tough time. So he decides to take her to an American theme park, Once Upon a Time Land. We meet Lacey, who plays Princess Sweet Pea. When Princess Rose meets her, she immediately becomes a big fan, and Lacey ends up waltzing with Henry. Obviously, at the time, Lacey doesn't know they are real royalty. But the next day, she is pulled aside at work and told the truth about who they are — and that they want Princess Sweet Pea to show them around the park personally. She does, and they get to talking. It turns out that Rose is deathly afraid of horses, but with Lacey's help, she's able to conquer that fear and get on the merry-go-round! Impressed, Henry asks if she would be willing to come back with them to his home and help Rose ride a horse. Apparently, it's a big tradition for the Order of the Lily ceremony. Lacey agrees. When she gets there, she is constantly catching strays from Henry's mom and this one guy who really hates her. But none of it matters because she's helping Rose with her fear of horses and spending more time with Henry — and the sparks are flying. They even end up kissing when he shows her his special spot. The Order of the Lily ceremony arrives, and Rose is really nervous. So Lacey rides alongside her, and it's a big success. But the guy who hates her is furious and tells Lacey, “If you think you're going to get Henry to fall in love with you, you're out of your mind. You're just a theme park princess.”Things go from bad to worse when Lacey loses her theme park job after a photo leaks of her in her Princess Sweet Pea costume talking to Henry. Why is that a fireable offense? Who can say? Heartbroken, she decides to leave before the ball. When she goes to return her costume to her old job, her boss tells her she has one more gig — and sends her out. When she does, it turns out the gig is just Henry and Rose. Henry tells her, “I love you. Please come back.” She does.Cut to six months later: Henry proposes, Lacey says yes, and they kiss.

Send us a textBridget stops by the podcast to discuss music, metaphysics, and much more. ****Bridget Barkan is a chameleon artist who shape-shifts through genre and style with a thread of raw truth and soul, woven into every melody and lyric. A native New Yorker, she has toured the world with pop/glam band Scissor Sisters and has performed with Bright Light Bright Light and Slow Knights. Starring in LGBTQ romantic classic “Walk with Me,” as a singer/songwriter, featured on the original album as well. As a singer, she has also opened for Lady Gaga, and has shared the stage with Drag legends Joey Arias, Murray Hill, and more. She worked closely with Baz Luhrmann as the voice of Misty Holloway on the Netflix show “The Get Down.” Bridget has released singles with the House DJ/producer legend Todd Terry as well as numerous of her own singles. As a child actress, she has appeared in countless commercials and Sesame Street. She has starred in HBO's Everyday People, Sherrybaby, Redacted, God's Pocket, Steven Soderbergh's The Knick and had a recurring role as a one-legged “hooker” on Law & Order: SVU. On stage, Barkan has appeared in numerous productions including Dog Sees God and alongside Lea Michelle in a workshop of Spring Awakening. "Heartbroken Ones” was a practice in healing, purging, and processing what Barkan was going through. “It helped me get through one of the worst moments of my life. It was the acceptance I was singing to myself,” Barkan explains. “All that mattered was releasing the pain that this indiscretion had caused.” Working with producer Austin Bello (Nikki Pope, FNKHOUSER, Goldvein) again who worked on her previous single “Good Things” and singer songwriter Poet Hawkins, she crafted the song in “a more old soul approach at first. But then I kept listening to my friend Natti Vogel's song ‘FAB (Free Ass Bitch),' which also was a healing song, which had a more pop and synth based energy, so we went in that direction, instead. We took parts of a voice memo and created a soundscape which really captured the inner world I was in.” A regular in the NYC artsy pop underground that includes Bright Light Bright Light, Xavier Smith, and John Cameron Mitchell among many others, Bridget is a “Jill of All Trades” on a one woman journey through life, love and loss. She also formerly toured the world with Scissor Sisters and can be seen in their earth-shattering “Let's Have A Kiki” video as one of Ana Matronic's crew. Having inherited her father's knack for songwriting, Bridget's intrinsic artistry and talent is a legacy she proudly carries. *****If you would like to contact the show about being a guest please email us at Dauna@bettertopodcast.comFollow us on Social MediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomAudio production by Rich Zei of Third Ear AudioIntro and Outro music compliments of Fast Suzi©2025 Better To...Podcast with D. Through loss, heartbreak, and unexpected signs, this mother's journey reveals the power of hope in the most unexpected places. In today's episode, I'm joined by Bernadette Payne, a writer, speaker, and advocate for grief support, who has transformed personal tragedy into a mission of healing. A psychology graduate and devoted mother, Bernadette has experienced profound loss—the deaths of her brother, mother, several close friends, and most heartbreakingly, her 17-year-old son. Her journey through grief led her to explore spirituality and near-death experiences, offering her comfort and a deeper understanding of the afterlife.
