Fear of being labeled "weird," getting reported to HR, or losing social capital often silences men from sharing their faith in the workplace. Is excellence spiritual? Yes. Your work ethic is your primary witness. You cannot have a sloppy career and a powerful testimony; they are incompatible. Do I have to preach? No. Most workplace evangelism happens through "relational equity"—building genuine friendships first, so you earn the right to speak later. What if I'm not perfect? Perfect people don't need Jesus. Admitting your mistakes and owning your failures is often a more powerful testimony than pretending to have it all together. How do I start? Start small. Pray over your meal. Mention church when asked about your weekend. Let your "faith flag" fly just enough to invite curiosity. The Monday Morning Dilemma We all know "That Guy." You've probably seen him in a movie, or maybe, unfortunately, in the cubicle next to you. He's the guy who turns a request for a stapler into a theological debate. He's the guy who leaves tracts in the breakroom microwave. He's the guy who uses "Christianese" jargon that makes everyone else uncomfortable and frankly, a little annoyed. Because we are so afraid of becoming "That Guy," most of us swing the pendulum entirely to the other side. We go silent. We become "Secret Service Christians." We clock in, keep our heads down, do our work, and clock out, leaving our faith in the workplace completely undistinguishable from the world around us. But as Joshua and TJ discussed on the podcast, this silent approach is just as dangerous as the "weird" approach. Jesus didn't call us to be undercover agents; He called us to be the light of the world. And since most of us spend the vast majority of our waking hours at work, if our light is hidden under a bushel from 9 to 5, we are missing our primary mission field. The challenge for the Uncommon man is to find the middle ground. How do we live out a vibrant, undeniable faith in the workplace that draws people in rather than pushing them away? How do we stop viewing our jobs as just a paycheck and start viewing them as a platform? The Myth of the Secular Job One of the biggest lies men believe is the divide between the "sacred" and the "secular." We think that pastors, missionaries, and worship leaders do "God's work," while the rest of us—accountants, mechanics, sales reps, project managers—just do "regular work." This is unbiblical nonsense. There is no such thing as a secular job for a believer. Everything you do is spiritual because you are spiritual. The Holy Spirit doesn't clock out when you walk into the office. Whether you are preaching a sermon or pouring concrete, Colossians 3:23 applies: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." When you shift your perspective to see your career through the lens of faith in the workplace, the mundane tasks of your day take on eternal significance. That spreadsheet isn't just data; it's a demonstration of integrity. That difficult client meeting isn't just a headache; it's an opportunity to show patience and grace. Joshua made a great point in the episode: We often think evangelism means standing on a desk and shouting repentance. But real, sustainable faith in the workplace often looks much more like quiet excellence. It looks like being the guy who doesn't complain when the project goes sideways. It looks like the boss who takes the blame but shares the credit. It looks like the employee who actually works a full 8 hours when everyone else is scrolling social media. Excellence is Your Apologetic If you want to share your faith in the workplace, you first have to be good at your job. It sounds simple, but it is profound. In a culture of "quiet quitting" and bare-minimum effort, excellence is a disruptor. Think about it. If you are lazy, unreliable, or constantly late, no one cares what you believe about Jesus. In fact, if you are a slacker who talks about God, you are actively doing damage to the Kingdom. You are giving Christ a bad name. Your coworkers will think, "If that's what a Christian is, I don't want any part of it." Competence creates curiosity. When you are excellent at what you do, you earn respect. And when you have respect, you have an audience. People will eventually ask, "Why do you work so hard? Why are you so joyful even when the quarterly numbers are down? Why didn't you panic like everyone else?" That is your open door. That is where faith in the workplace moves from abstract to concrete. You can say, "Honestly, my identity isn't tied to this job. I serve a different Master, and that gives me peace even when things are chaotic." You haven't preached a sermon, but you have planted a seed that only excellence could have cultivated. Relational Equity: Earning the Right to Speak In the podcast, TJ shared a powerful story about working in the design industry in New Orleans, a field often populated by people who live lifestyles very different from a biblical worldview. He didn't walk in on day one and start condemning people or handing out list of grievances. He built relationships. He went to lunch. He got to know them as human beings. This concept is called "relational equity." Think of it like a bank account. Every time you listen to a coworker, help them with a task, ask about their kids, or show genuine care, you are making a deposit. You are building trust. Many men try to make a "withdrawal"—sharing the Gospel or correcting a worldview—before they have made any deposits. That is when you become "That Guy." You are trying to cash a check that is going to bounce because you haven't earned the relational capital to cover it. Faith in the workplace is a long game. It requires patience. It requires you to actually love the people you work with, not just view them as projects to be converted. When your coworkers know that you genuinely care about them, they will be infinitely more open to hearing about what makes you tick. TJ mentioned that when he would go back to work on Monday, and people asked, "What did you do this weekend?", he wouldn't hide it. He would say, "I went to church," or "I served with my community group." He didn't make a big deal out of it, but he didn't scrub it from his life either. Over time, that consistency builds a reputation. People start to associate you with your faith in the workplace naturally. They know who you are. And when a crisis hits—a divorce, a diagnosis, a death in the family—guess whose desk they come to? They come to the guy who has been steady. They come to the guy who has hope. The "Fruit" Check: Do You Look Like the World? Here is the hard truth: You cannot share faith in the workplace if you look, act, and sound exactly like the world. If you are gossiping in the breakroom, you have lost your witness. If you are complaining about the boss behind his back, you have lost your witness. If you are getting drunk at the company happy hour, you have lost your witness. If you are fudging the numbers on your expense report, you have lost your witness. Jesus said, "By their fruit you will recognize them." Your coworkers are fruit inspectors. They are watching you closer than you think. They are waiting to see if your faith is real or if it's just a Sunday morning hobby. Living out faith in the workplace means holding yourself to a higher standard. It means having integrity when no one is watching. It means choosing your words carefully. As the podcast highlighted, this doesn't mean you have to be a prude or judgmental. You can still be fun. You can still joke around. But there is a line. When everyone else is tearing someone down, you stay silent or offer a different perspective. When everyone else is panicking, you bring a calming presence. These small, daily decisions accumulate. They create a distinct aroma of Christ. TJ noted that in the creative field, he worked with many gay colleagues. He didn't affirm everything they did, but he loved them. He treated them with dignity. And because of that, they respected him. They knew he was a Christian. They knew where he stood. But they also knew he wasn't hateful. That balance—truth and love—is the hallmark of mature faith in the workplace. Vulnerability vs. Perfection One of the reasons men hesitate to share their faith is the fear of hypocrisy. We think, "I'm not perfect. I lose my temper. I make mistakes. Who am I to talk about Jesus?" But here is the secret: Your perfection is not the point. In fact, pretending to be perfect pushes people away because everyone knows it's a lie. No one relates to a plastic saint. Real faith in the workplace is displayed most powerfully in how you handle failure. When you screw up—and you will—do you blame others? Do you make excuses? Or do you own it? Imagine the impact of a leader who says, "I was wrong. I shouldn't have spoken to you that way. I apologize. Will you forgive me?" That is counter-cultural. That is Uncommon. The world teaches us to cover our tracks and shift blame. The Gospel teaches us to confess and seek restoration. When you apologize, you are demonstrating the Gospel. You are showing that you are a sinner in need of grace, just like everyone else. This vulnerability makes your faith in the workplace accessible. It shows that Christianity isn't about being better than everyone else; it's about being forgiven. Practical Steps to Integrate Faith in the Workplace So, how do we move from theory to action? You don't need to quit your job and become a missionary. You just need to be intentional. Here are five practical ways to start exercising your faith in the workplace this week: 1.
In honor of the world's most prestigious winter sporting event, the Lutheran Ladies have embarked upon their own Winter Hymnastics series. Throughout this series, they'll laugh, they'll cry, they'll sweat (sometimes literally), and above all, they'll sing as they celebrate some of the greatest hymns and hymnwriters past, present, and even yet to come. In this final episode of the series, the Ladies (joined once again by their fellow #hymnnerds Katie Schuermann and Dr. Lisa Clark) welcome listener submissions in an all-new Write This: Challenge. The assignment this time? To write one or more hymn stanzas in common meter for an uncommon occasion in the life of the church. Featuring 20 original hymns and hymn verses — covering various saints' days, confirmation, hymn festivals, Synod conventions, and more — this episode will inspire singers and hymnwriters everywhere to look for, and fill, quiet moments throughout the church year with new hymns of praise. Katie Schuermann is an author and storyteller whose books include the Anthems of Zion series from CPH, The Saints of Whistle Grove (a Lutheran Ladies' Book Club pick), and most recently, the Creed series, including The Big Father and His Little Boy and The Beloved Son and His Brother. Most advice says work harder and keep trying. We put that to the test and reveal why so many smart teams still miss: they average their confidence across steps instead of multiplying their true odds. With award-winning strategy consultant and author Kyle Austin Young, we break down a simple, rigorous way to change results by changing probability—without needing a PhD or a spreadsheet marathon. We start by exposing the averaging trap and building a clean success diagram: a left-to-right map of every step that must go right to hit your goal. Then we estimate the likelihood of each step, multiply to reveal real odds, and hunt for the failure modes stealing your probability. Kyle calls it “think negative” thinking: not doom and gloom, but a disciplined scan for what could go wrong—glitches, delays, weak offers, misreads—so you can de-risk them in advance. You'll hear how he used this method to land a leadership job at 21 by neutralizing age bias, shifting interviews to future-focused plans, and mirroring team language drawn from their favorite books.Inside this episode, we cover:➡️ The 34% Trap: Why most leaders mathematically overestimate their chance of success and how to fix it.➡️ The "Beard & Book" Strategy: How Kyle probability-hacked his way into a Director role at age 21.➡️ Think Negative: Why identifying "failure modes" is the ultimate creative tool for CEOs.➡️ Tuition Costs: How to view high-stakes mistakes as the price of your leadership education.➡️ The Revenge Tour: Lessons in humility and strategic adjustment from trout fishing. We dig into a nonprofit case where donations fell off a cliff. Agencies tried fresh stories, but a success diagram pointed somewhere less glamorous: a deliverability glitch that blocked a major inbox provider. Fixing the pipe beat rewriting the message. From there, we explore Hail Mary diagrams for stalled goals, when to pause versus quit, and how to stack smaller wins—bylines, relationships, proof—so big moves become high-odds plays. Along the way, Kyle's stories about resilience, iteration, and the math behind confidence will give you tools to raise your odds in hiring, product launches, fundraising, and personal goals like marathon training. If you're ready to stop guessing, map your steps, and steal probability back from failure, this conversation gives you the playbook. Rizz might be the word of the year, but what if the real power behind it is as old as leadership itself? We sit down with Mylan Miller, author of The Charisma Craft, to unpack why charisma isn't a mysterious spark you're born with—it's a learnable practice that blends confidence with kindness to create two-way human connection. From the psychology of competence and warmth to the tiny physical cues that change how you're perceived, we map charisma from slang to strategy.Mylan takes us inside the high-octane world of sports and entertainment to show how deals are actually won: not by pressure in the boardroom, but by curiosity over dinners, market walks, and shared stories. You'll hear how reading the room across cultures, asking better questions, and remembering what matters to people can transform a pitch into a partnership. We dig into barriers like self-doubt and fragile self-trust, then counter them with simple, repeatable tools: the ENT method for eye contact and listening, and the WTF reset for grounded posture. These habits don't just look good on camera—they build trust you can renew. We also wrestle with authenticity in the age of AI. What's real connection versus performative oversharing? How do you stay human when templates and prompts are everywhere? Mylan's take is clear: technology can suggest words, but only you can sense the unsaid, calibrate tone, and turn a moment into momentum. Along the way, we explore leadership archetypes, celebrate models like Serena Williams for warrior-level authenticity, and reframe charisma as service, not spotlight. If you're ready to upgrade your presence, close smarter deals, and lead in a way people actually feel, hit play. Then subscribe, share this with a friend who leads, and leave a quick review to tell us which tool you'll practice first.

How did Christianity become this casual? How did a faith that once required surrender turn into something that rarely disrupts us? In this episode, Jon Ellis traces the subtle shift that took place in modern American Christianity; a shift from discipleship to decisions, from formation to momentary response, from surrender to convenience. This isn’t an attack on evangelism. It’s not criticism of church growth. It’s a call back to biblical discipleship. Jesus never hid the cost. He clarified it. When the cost of following Him isn’t explained clearly, faith feels confusing. Shallow roots develop. Comfort becomes assumed. And casual Christianity slowly becomes normal. In this episode, Jon explores: • How altar-call culture unintentionally shifted the focus from discipleship to decision • Why unexplained cost creates fragile faith • How cultural Christianity replaces covenant obedience • What Jesus actually meant when He said, “Count the cost” • And how to return to true, Spirit-led discipleship If your faith has felt heavier lately, this may not mean something is wrong. It may mean you’re finally encountering the part of discipleship that trains you. Depth is still available. Uncommon faith is still possible. And surrender is still the way forward. How did Christianity become this casual? In this episode of The Uncommon Christian Podcast, Jon Ellis explores the subtle shift from discipleship to decisions, and why so many believers were taught how to start faith but not how to sustain it. Jesus never lowered the standard. If your faith feels heavier than expected, this episode will help you understand why, and how to return to true, Spirit-led discipleship.

Stress doesn't have to hijack your leadership. Executive coach Tracy Gazelle joins us to unpack the neuroscience of staying grounded when the stakes are high and the room heats up. We explore how clarity isn't something you chase; it's what emerges when the mental noise settles and you choose not to engage the inner critic that sounds so convincing in tough moments.Tracy breaks down her Calm Clarity Operating System into three practical pillars: sleep physiology, mind literacy, and lived experience. We get tactical about 90‑minute sleep cycles, why waking at 3:30 a.m. often means you're between cycles, and how to fall back asleep by refusing the “thought hooks” that try to wake your brain. You'll hear actionable routines for better evenings—no blue light, consistent wind‑downs, and smarter choices around food and alcohol—and a simple morning cadence that protects creative thinking before the day scatters your focus.• clarity as a natural state when the mind quiets• inner critic as optional noise, not identity• labeling emotions to shift out of fight or flight• body cues as early alerts to pause and breathe• Calm Clarity OS: sleep, mind, lived experience• 90‑minute sleep cycles and consistent wake times• falling back asleep without engaging thoughts• evening routines: light, screens, food, alcohol• morning creativity time for instinctive decisions• practical stories of leaders gaining calm authorityFrom boardroom triggers to body cues, we map exactly how to catch fight or flight before it takes over. Labeling emotions in real time moves processing from survival centers to the prefrontal cortex, restoring reason without draining your passion. Tracy shares a standout client story of a hospital leader who transformed a “bulldog” reputation into calm authority, improved relationships at home, and earned consideration for a CEO role. We also touch on reading habits, Taoist wisdom, and how to build a personal routine that actually fits your life rather than someone else's template. If you want sharper decisions, steadier meetings, and more energy for the people who matter most, this conversation gives you a blueprint. This show has been flagged as Clean by the host. These are the commands mentioned in the You may need to use "sudo" to run these commands depending on how your system is configured. strace uptime strace ls 2>&1 | grep open strace -e openat ls / strace ls /does/not/exist strace -o ls-trace.log ls strace -ff -o pid12345-trace.log -p 12345 HISTORY The original strace was written by Paul Kranenburg for SunOS and was inspired by its trace utility. The SunOS version of strace was ported to Linux and enhanced by Branko Lankester, who also wrote the Linux kernel support. Even though Paul released strace 2.5 in 1992, Branko's work was based on Paul's strace 1.5 release from 1991. In 1993, Rick Sladkey took on the project. He merged strace 2.5 for SunOS with the second release of strace for Linux, added many features from SVR4's truss(1), and produced a ver‐ sion of strace that worked on both platforms. In 1994 Rick ported strace to SVR4 and Solaris and wrote the automatic configuration support. In 1995 he ported strace to Irix (and became tired of writing about himself in the third person). Beginning with 1996, strace was maintained by Wichert Akkerman. During his tenure, strace development migrated to CVS; ports to FreeBSD and many architectures on Linux (including ARM, IA-64, MIPS, PA-RISC, PowerPC, s390, SPARC) were introduced. In 2002, responsibility for strace maintenance was transferred to Roland McGrath. Since then, strace gained support for several new Linux architectures (AMD64, s390x, SuperH), bi- architecture support for some of them, and received numerous additions and improvements in system calls decoders on Linux; strace development migrated to Git during that period. Since 2009, strace has been actively maintained by Dmitry Levin. During this period, strace has gained support for the AArch64, ARC, AVR32, Blackfin, C-SKY, LoongArch, Meta, Nios II, OpenRISC 1000, RISC-V, Tile/TileGx, and Xtensa architectures. In 2012, unmaintained and apparently broken support for non-Linux operating systems was removed. Also, in 2012 strace gained support for path tracing and file descriptor path decoding. In 2014, support for stack trace printing was added. In 2016, system call tampering was implemented. For the additional information, please refer to the NEWS file and strace repository commit log. Pedigree looks shiny on paper, but does it move the needle? We sit down with executive search leader Travis Hahn to unpack why big-name resumes often disappoint, and how defining outcomes, culture, and decision rights before you recruit leads to hires who actually deliver. From building trustworthy role profiles to reaching passive candidates who aren't scrolling job boards, we dig into the practical steps leaders can take to raise the bar on both recruiting and retention.Travis explains how a third-party perspective challenges title-driven thinking and surfaces the real work a role must do at your company's specific stage. We explore the builder's mindset—consistency, transparency, and a willingness to go beyond the job description—and how to spot it in interviews. Culture emerges as the true currency: when leaders grant ownership and share credit, teams move faster and stick around. You'll hear success stories that took time and trust to compound, plus candid reflections on when “hire slow, fire fast” applies and when patience saves a future star.• defining roles with outcomes, KPIs, and decision rights• avoiding pedigree bias and testing for real impact• recruiting passive leaders through trust and patience• hire slow, fire fast but with context and care• culture as currency for retention and speed• builder's mindset, ownership, and clear communication• lessons from unreasonable hospitality on simple, human moments• AI as an efficiency tool, not a replacement for judgment• success stories that show compounding trust over time• next steps for integrated human capital servicesWe also tackle the AI question head-on. Automation can sharpen operations and sourcing, but human judgment remains essential for confidential, high-stakes leadership searches. With AI amplifying noise in the applicant pool, curated pipelines and authentic conversations matter more than ever. Along the way, Travis pulls leadership lessons from golf and hospitality, showing how simple, human gestures—clarity, inclusion, and respect—create experiences people remember and cultures they choose to stay in.If you're a founder or mid-market leader tired of expensive mis-hires and constant churn, this conversation offers a clear path forward: define the work, avoid pedigree traps, recruit builders, and keep your promises. Subscribe, share with someone wrestling with their next leadership hire, and leave a review telling us your biggest hiring challenge—we'll tackle it in a future episode.
If you're a worship leader, you plan services. It comes with the territory. It's part of the job. Most of the time, that comes down to picking songs. But what are we missing in our churches when service planning, programming, and worship leading is reduced to merely picking songs? W. David O. Taylor is Associate Professor of Theology & Culture at Fuller Theological Seminary as well as the director of various initiatives in worship, theology and the arts. He teaches courses in systematic theology, art and worship, art and theology, art and beauty, spiritual formation through the psalms, and theology and science fiction. He is the author of the books Glimpses of The New Creation, Prayers for the Pilgrimage, A Body of Praise, Open & Unafraid, as well as the upcoming book To Set the World Aflame: How Artists Bear Witness to the Fullness of God's Creation. David is a deep well of wisdom when it comes to worship and the arts. What I love about this conversation is he helps us see more expansive view of what worship is and can be in the church. We discuss why artists are necessary and how they help us see more of God. The value of silence in our gatherings. The kinds of songs we need to be singing today. Why the predominant worship model today isn't wrong, but inadequate. You can reach me anytime at david@beyondsundayworship.com. Thank you for listening. Topics Covered: The difference between formation and experience in worship Why our current model of worship experiences isn’t wrong, but inadequate The value of silence in our gatherings Why we need artists in the church Creative ways to introduce silence, reflection, and community in our worship spaces The kinds of songs the church needs to be singing today Resources Mentioned: Show Sponsor: Planning Center Glimpses of the New Creation by W. You can organize your ministries and keep everyone on your team communicating and aligned around what's going on. As a worship leader, good communication is key to building a strong worship team. You can cultivate relationships while ensuring everyone has what they need to successfully prep for your services. But why not take it up a notch using the chat feature? Built right into the Services mobile app—which, by the way, you should totally download if you haven't already—chat helps you coordinate all the service details with your team. Plus, you can have fun while doing it! No more juggling emails, group texts, and multiple apps to ensure your whole team is aligned. Chat will simplify your communication in one convenient place through the Services mobile app. And everyone can ask questions, request prayer, or join the banter in real-time with one another. The really cool part about chatting with your teams? Team members are dynamically added or removed from conversations as availability changes! So if your original bass player suddenly declines (why is it so hard to find a bass player, anyway?), your newly scheduled bass player is automatically added to the chat conversation. All of your chat conversations stay in sync. No more outdated group threads or irrelevant messages! So what are you waiting for? Download the Services app and start chatting! God put favor on all of use when he made us, but he didn't make us wear it. I pride myself and knowing that I am favored and that I will always step outside and tell the world. Activating your favor starts with you believing in your mind, heart and soul that God has favor on your life. It's time you believe and go out and get what God already has for you.
What if your calling stayed the same, but your assignment changed? That's the pivot Mac Lake made—moving from pastoring and church planting to building leadership pipelines for churches and, later, for businesses hungry to grow healthy leaders. We sat down to unpack the turning points, the practical frameworks, and the simple habits that turn lofty leadership talk into measurable impact.Mac shares the “intervention” that ignited his growth, why investing in yourself isn't optional, and how a clear leadership pipeline can stop bottlenecks before they burn out your best people. We walk through the five-tier pathway—from leading yourself to leading the organization—so you can spot gaps, set ratios, and prepare your next layer of leaders on purpose. You'll hear how development beats placement every time, and why the triad of knowledge, experience, and coaching is the simplest engine for transformation you can run across any team.• origins of purpose and early leadership wake-up call• moving from church staff to founding Multiply Group• treating business as a platform for discipleship and influence• investing in yourself with intentional growth plans• designing a leadership pipeline with healthy ratios• shifting from leader placement to leader development• triad of knowledge, experience, and coaching• pairing character with competency for trusted impact• daily health practices that fuel longevity and focus• how we develop our own team through monthly huddlesWe also dig into the balance of character and competency, anchored in David's model of a pure heart and skillful hands. Mac explains how pairing virtues with skills—patience with conflict, humility with decision-making, courage with change—“supercharges” leadership people trust. And because energy is a competitive edge, we zoom in on health span: eat, sleep, move, think, hydrate. From ditching processed foods and seed oils to resistance training and hydration, Mac shows how daily habits protect focus, raise resilience, and help you finish strong. If you lead a business, a nonprofit, or a church, you'll leave with a blueprint to restructure your team, a repeatable way to develop leaders, and a personal plan to sustain the energy leadership demands. Welcome to this message from Pastor Jeff Bucknam, part of our series Rise and Fall of a King. In this sermon, “Uncommon Kindness,” we turn to 1 Samuel 24:1–22, a pivotal moment in the life of David where power, fear, and broken relationships collide. As David faces the man who has relentlessly pursued him, we see a surprising response—humility instead of revenge, restraint instead of retaliation. This passage invites us to consider how God calls His people to respond when relationships are fractured and when the opportunity to take matters into our own hands feels justified. We pray this message encourages you to trust the Lord, pursue peace, and reflect the uncommon kindness we ourselves have received through the gospel. If you've ever wondered why good relationships quietly fade, this conversation will change how you lead, sell, and show up. We sit down with speaker and author Barb Betts to unpack a simple truth: relationships don't fail overnight—they drift when we stop being intentional. Starting with the inner game, Barb reframes self-doubt and imposter syndrome as signs you're stretching into growth, not proof that you're a fraud. By 85, you'll spend roughly 44 million minutes with yourself; the way you speak to you becomes the template for every other connection. We move from mindset to method with Barb's VVR factor: visibility, vulnerability, and relatability. Show up consistently, be human without oversharing, and find a real point of common ground. Then apply a Relationship Operating System that ranks your most important people, sets a contact cadence, and uses the five by five method—five genuine, no-ask messages to five people a day—to prevent drift. Barb shares a personal story of nearly losing a 24-year friendship and how simple, consistent touchpoints would have saved months of hurt.• redefining self-doubt and imposter syndrome as growth signals• VVR factor: visibility, vulnerability, relatability• preventing drift with a relationship operating system• five by five daily outreach method with no asks• ranking relationships and setting contact frequency• why everyone is in sales because sales is influence• building trust accounts and making deposits before withdrawals• making people feel known, not just counted• where AI helps and where it can't• practical tools: CRM, sheets, top 100 listSales leaders will appreciate her broader frame: sales is influence, and everyone sells. The goal isn't how many people you know; it's how many feel known by you. That shift boosts referrals, deepens trust, and turns your name on someone's phone into a call they can't wait to answer. We also get practical about tools—CRMs, Google Sheets, even AI for drafting and organizing—while drawing a hard line where tech can't replace a voice note, phone call, or handwritten card.If you're ready to stop relying on “let's get together soon” and start building relationships before you need them, this episode offers a playbook you can use today. If it resonates, follow Barb, send those five messages, and tell us who you're reconnecting with.
