We are christian friends who desire to preach the gospel. We feel it is important to study other faiths/beliefs. All glory be to God alone.
In this episode, I read Origen's 35th homily on Luke and discuss some of what it says in regards to debts incurred by one's sins that need to be paid off in "prison". I also discuss the changes to the podcast and the goal of the podcast as well.

In this episode I begin reading and talking about certain Hadiths from Sahih Al Bukhari that I find most interesting and helpful for understanding Islam and its teachings. This is done from a Christian perspective as one who genuinely wants to learn more about Islam. In this episode we read hadiths that give particular understandings of sin, the salat (5 daily prayers), a very important event in the life of Muhammed, and more.
In this episode I read James 2 and exegete it, and then I read the section on Exaltation in the Gospel Library app, which is an app created by the LDS church itself. Are both documents consistent with one another? Does James 2 refute the doctrine of Justification by Faith Alone as held by the reformers? This episode answers both questions.
In this episode, I ask the question "why are there changes in the Book of Mormon?" And explain why such a question is extremely important to ask to any LDS missionary, and why any LDS missionary should be able to answer it.
In this episode I read from Sahih-Al Bukhari, a sound hadith source, where it discusses the historical reality that the text of the Qu'ran has had variation in how it was written down, recited, and memorized by the muslim people since the days of Muhammed himself.
In this episode, I discuss the proceedings that come from the Sixth Ecumenical Council and I read four of them for you. We see that the Sixth Ecumenical Council did not condemn Monergism, as has been said by some, but we also see other interesting things as well, such as issues regarding Papal Infallibility, the authority of the Scriptures to determine whether or not a doctrine is true, the importance of maintaining that Christ must possess every necessary attribute of the human nature, or else He is not truly a man, and finally, the Lutheran and Reformed confessions on the Son of God. All of these things are discussed in this episode.
In this episode of Mormon Sermons, we hear John Taylor, the 3rd president of the LDS church , discuss the early beginnings of Mormon settlers in Zion, and reasons why the LDS church practices baptism for the dead.

In this episode I walk through Romans 9 verse by verse and explain what the text is saying. Having been a Calvinist, it took a long time for me to take those lenses off and read Romans 9 without seeing double predestination to heaven and hell in the text. I hope this episode offers a new perspective and demonstrates that the Calvinist interpretation of Romans 9 is not the only interpretation one can come away with by walking through the text verse by verse. Thanks for listening.
In this episode, we listened to my conversation with James White on the Dividing Line on the extent of the atonement. I'm very happy to have been able to had the conversation that I had with him. Hope this is useful to you in understanding where Lutherans are coming from in regards to the extend of the atonement.
In this episode I read from two LDS sources regarding plural marriage and discuss the striking contrast that exists between the two different sources regarding plural marriage. Is it outlawed and not allowed to be practiced by LDSs, or is it necessary to be practiced in order to be exalted and attain to the fulness of God? This question is answered in this episode.
In this discourse, we have a discourse given by Brigham Young on the topic of Salvation.
In this encyclical letter to Smyrna, we read the account of the capture and martyrdom of Polycarp, along with an inside look at the private life of Polycarp, who prayed day and night for all men.
In this episode, we read the one and only epistle we have written by Polycarp, bishop of Smyrna, so often mentioned in the various epistles of Ignatius. These two bishop were friends and both disciples of the apostle John.

In this epistle, we see Ignatius speak of the union of man and God in Jesus, the heretical doctrines of certain people who deny this, with bidding to continue in the faith along with the bishop and presbytery.
In this epistle, we see again a common theme, Ignatius bidding the Ephesians to stand fast with its bishop and presbytery, his desire to "truly become a disciple of Christ" through martyrdom, and a warning of false doctrines and evil men coming into the church and spreading false teachings. Many quotations from Scripture, especially, once again, the Gospel of John.
In this episode I read Ignatius' epistle to the Magnesians, in which Ignatius talks much of the authority of the bishop and presbytery, bidding the church to submit to those in authority as to Christ. Quotations from, once again, the Gospel of John (so much for John not being a 1st century document), along with quotations from various epistles of Paul.
In this episode I begin reading Ignatius' epistles, starting with the epistle to the romans. In this epistle, we read of Ignatius' desire to be a martyr for Christ, or in his own words, "to attain to Christ". We see Ignatius calling Jesus our God and the bread of life, with quotations and references from the gospel of John and also the Gospel of Luke, along with some of Paul's epistles. Hope you enjoy listening.
In this episode of A Calvinist and a Lutheran Discuss, we cover once again perserverance of the saints, move into how one can have assurance that they are in the faith, and speak on the means of grace for a little bit at the end of the program. Hope you enjoy these discussions, more will happen God willing.
In this episode I read the Gospel of Philip. Hope you enjoy listening.
In this episode, my friend and I discuss the doctrine of perserverance of the saints in relation to John 15. A respectful, brotherly discussion between two Christians is always great to have. We both work at UPS so theres a lot of trucks rolling by and planes flying over us so I apologize in advance for the background noise, I felt our voices were clear though. Lol
In this episode, I read the Gospel of Truth. Hope you enjoy listening.
In this episode I read two gnostic gospels, the Coptic Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Mary.
In this episode, I read two gnostic gospels, the Gospel of Judas and the Gospel of Peter. Hope you enjoy. As a side note, the Gospel of Peter was not found at Nag Hammadi, and so is not a Nag Hammadi text. It's just grouped together in the same episode as Judas, which is a Nag Hammadi text.

Reading Martin Luther's explanation of the Ten Commandments and explaining them in my own words as well on this episode.
Sola Scriptura; what is it? Is it foundational? Must I believe it? What did Jesus and Paul say on this matter? All are addressed in this episode.
