In this episode of Gridiron East, Michael V. Jones and Donald R. Elder recap the 2020 NFL Draft and give their analysis on how the NFC East teams fared. The NFC East historian, Michael V. Jones, was thrilled with the Dallas Cowboys draft. He wasn't ready to compare it to the 2016 class that included Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Jaylon Smith to name a few. The big prize of the day for the Cowboys was Cee Dee Lamb, WR out of Oklahoma. Jonesy regarded Lamb as the top receiver in the draft. The Washington Redskins defense improved with the addition of Ohio State "generational talent" Chase Young. The Redskins will expect All-Pro production out of their 2nd overall pick. The skins also added a couple Antonio weapons at receiver with Gandy-Golden and Gibson; also an interesting OL prospect out of LSU, Shaadiq Charles.David Gettleman made a couple solid picks for the Giants in the first two rounds. They brought in their LT of the future in Georgia standout, Andrew Thomas, who should make room for Saquon Barkley and protect the blindside of hopeful franchise QB, Daniel Jones. The other standout pick was Alabama safety, Xavier McKinney, who should start right away. The Eagles took a pair of Jalens with their 1st and 2nd picks. The first was well received by most; Jalen Reagor is a home run hitting threat at receiver. It was the next pick that had Jonesy scratching his head. The Eagles opted to take QB, Jalen Hurts, out of Oklahoma (also former Alabama QB) with their second round pick rather than fill other holes on offense.

Win and in for Philadelphia. No Dwayne Haskins or Terry McLaurin for the Redskins. Dak's final game in Dallas? Can Pat Shurmur salvage his job with the New York Giants? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/gridironeast/message
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys look to win their second straight division title in Philadelphia against the Eagles. Carson Wentz and company have other ideas; the Eagles control their own destiny and need two straight division wins to secure their second division title under head coach, Doug Peterson. Dwayne Haskins will look to build on his last performance against the Eagles. The Redskins host Daniel Jones and the New York Giants in the battle of the 2nd overall pick. Both teams would be better served to lose, but will both likely try to win the game. It should be a great week of NFC East football. Happy holidays to everyone from Michael V. Jones and Donald R. Elder. Gridiron East. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/gridironeast/message
The Philadelphia Eagles were the only team in the NFC East to get a victory this week. They squeaked out a victory against division rival, New York. The Giants saw "sugar" Eli Manning return to quarterback to fill in for the injured rookie, Daniel Jones. Unfortunately for the G-men, the first half boost wasn't enough to hold off the scrappy Eagles. Philadelphia moves into a division tie with the Dallas Cowboys; both teams at 6-7.The Washington Redskins put up a fight and covered the spread at Lambeau Field against the home Packers. Dwayne Haskins had his ankle rolled in the first half, but he played through the pain and recorded his first TD pass to former OSU teammate, Scary Terry McLaurin. The Redskins will host division rival, Philadelphia on Sunday. It wouldn't be a complete week in the NFL without a disappointing performance from the Cowboys defense and special teams. These units continue to hold back a really good offense. The Cowboys have now dropped three-in a-row for the second time this season. Dallas does, however, still hold a share of the lead in the division. They also currently hold the tie-breaker of division wins. The Cowboys will host the red-hot Los Angeles Rams, who will likely need to win out to have a chance at the playoffs. Will the New York Giants get another win for Eli Manning? Eli has claimed he will not take a job as a backup quarterback next year in the NFL. That means this could be Manning's last year in the NFL. Could this be Eli Mannings last game played in the NFL? Will he finish his career with a losing record? All this and more on the best podcast covering the NFC East, Gridiron East. Join Michael V. Jones and Donald R. Cole Beasley carved up the Cowboys in his return to big D and ruined Jonesy's Thanksgiving. Dak Prescott has his worst game of the season. The Giants were competitive until the 4th quarter, but three INTs from QB Daniel Jones were too touch to overcome. Aaron Rodgers torched the Giants secondary with four passing touchdowns in route to a victory for Green Bay.The Eagles lost their third straight game, dropping Sunday's contest to the Miami Dolphins. Philadelphia falls to 5-7 on the season and misses an opportunity to tie Dallas for the division lead. Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins got his second straight victory as a starter. The Dallas Cowboys fall to the Patriots in New England. Amari Cooper shutdown and still no playmaking from the Dallas defense. Carson Wentz turned the ball over four times in the Philadelphia Eagles' defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. Washington Redskins starting quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, got his first win as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He missed the last play of the game while taking a selfie with the fans at FedEx field, but Jonesy and Donnie both chalk it up to a harmless rookie mistake. Daniel Jones continues to be a turnover machine; he has 14 fumbles on the year. Why aren't the New York Giants utilizing running back Saquon Barkley more?Dallas is -6.5 at home on turkey day against the 8-3 Buffalo Bills. Michael V. Jones and Donald R. The Dallas Cowboys came off the bye week with a victory over the New York Giants. Daniel Jones continues to be a turnover machines and Dallas remains in first place of the NFC East. The Washington Redskins continued their losing ways despite the first career start for rookie QB Dwayne Haskins. Washington hasn't scored a touchdown in their last three games.
