CHIEFS PREVIEW: Reacting to this sad Sean Taylor situation before looking ahead to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs

JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey have quite a bit to discuss on this particular Washington Football Talk. Unfortunately, as usual, the first topic doesn't have to do with the upcoming matchup, but rather the club's horrific handling of Sean Taylor's jersey retirement. Following a tremendous intro by JP, the three hosts spend the first 15 minutes or so of the show bashing the Burgundy and Gold for botching something that should've been so easy and so celebratory. After getting that out of their systems, the trio turns their attention back to football, which includes segments on whether this weekend's meeting with the Chiefs will actually stay close (Mitch thinks so) and if the current message that Ron Rivera is emphasizing is the wrong one (Pete thinks so). Then comes the typical pregame segments and an adult question from Pete that he poses to his two adult cohosts. And lastly, things close with JP going 1-on-1 with Chase Young and Ron Rivera (the Young chat happened on Wednesday, while the Rivera interview came on Monday). If you like podcasts where Mitch makes a ridiculous claim (even by his standards) and JP quotes both "Of Mice and Men" and Bane, then this is the episode for you.14.2839.34See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Chris Russell and David Harrison host your Locked On Washington Football Team Podcast bringing you news, analysis and everything between as it pertains to the NFL and the WFT.  Entering the weekend with matching 2-2 records, the Washington Football Team fell to the New Orleans Saints, 33-22. For the first time all season the WFT defense held an opponent scoreless on their first drive of the game. To make it more interesting, it was Washington linebacker Cole Holcomb intercepting New Orleans quarterback Jameis Winston to break the four-game streak of opening drive scores. Later, WFT defensive end Chase Young tallied his first sack of the 2021 NFL Season, and it came in the form of a strip-sack. The fumble recovered by Daron Payne gave Washington two takeaways in the first quarter. However, Winston's four touchdown passes, including an end of first half hail mary completion to wide receiver Marquez Callaway and a 72-yard catch and run by Deonte Harris, helped get their squad the win. Washington now heads into a Week 6 battle with the Kanas City Chiefs with a 2-3 record while the Saints enter their bye week at 3-2. In this episode, we recap the game, give our immediate analysis and reactions, and name our plays and players of the game. We also hear from a couple of Washington Football Team fans who called in shortly after the gun, to let the rest of the fan base know their thoughts as well. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Chris Russell and David Harrison host your Locked On Washington Football Team Podcast bringing you news, analysis and everything between as it pertains to the NFL and the WFT.  Both the Washington Football Team and New Orleans Saints head into this weekend's matchup at FedEx Field with matching 2-2 records. Who's going to fall below .500 and who will get back into the plus side of the win and loss column? This is the question David (SI.com) and Ross Jackson (Canal Street Chronicles), the host of the Locked On Saints Podcast seeks to answer in this Crossover Thursday episode! The WFT faces three big storylines entering the weekend. The continued play of quarterback Taylor Heinicke, defensive struggles by Chase Young and his teammates, and injuries. David discusses which of the three has the potential to make the biggest impact this weekend, and Ross shares the biggest storylines to watch on the opponent side of things as well. We turn to the quarterbacks as two backups from 2020 have taken the starting job for their respective teams. Will it be Heinicke or Jameis Winston leading their team to a win? In a game of matchups, the Washington defensive line figures to have a big impact - for better or worse - while the New Orleans battle to watch zeroes in on the 'Battle of the Ohio State Buckeyes' as Terry McLaurin and Marshon Lattimore brings college associations to NFL rivalries for the weekend. Finally, David and Ross drop their betting line projections, and pick the winners of this weekend's clash of 2020 NFC Playoff teams! Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Five times every week, get all you need pertaining to your team, every day.   In Week 4 of the 2021 NFL Season the Washington Football Team defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 34-30. In this immediate analysis episode of the Locked On WFT Podcast, we recap how the final score was achieved and share our thoughts on this week's opponent. Did the Falcons live up to expectations, fall short, or exceed them?   Then, we break down the offensive and defensive performances from Washington's roster. Quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw for nearly 300-yards and had three touchdowns. But was his play as good as the stat box would hint? Or was it more on wide receiver Terry McLaurin and other offensive playmakers? On defense, no first-drive touchdown, but a field goal. How did the rest of the game go for Chase Young's unit?   Finally, we share our plays and players of the game. McLaurin's touchdown catch on a wounded duck, J.D. McKissic flying through the air, and which lesser-known WFT footballer stood up when his team needed him the most?   All, on this Victory Monday edition of the Locked On Washington Football Team Podcast!     Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! How Allen is reverting to his bad habits from the 2019 season, and the simple fix he can make to get back on track and regain his accuracy in the passing game. How wide receivers Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, and Gabriel Davis have the clear edge in their one-on-one matchups against Washington's secondary. Why A.J. Epenesa, Jerry Hughes, Greg Rousseau, Ed Oliver and the resurgent defensive line should once again be able to take advantage of a weak Washington offensive line. How a bulked-up Epenesa has become a wrecking ball on the defensive line. The strengths and weaknesses of Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke, and how he will attack Buffalo's defense. Breaking down the pivotal matchup of Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin vs. All Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White. What Buffalo's defense needs to do to neutralize Washington's 1-2 running back tandem of Antonio Gibson and JD McKissic. Boccacino and D'Amico then offer up their score predictions for the game. The Washington Football Team (1-1) travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills (1-1)! We begin with a deep dive into the Buffalo Bills. The Bills lost their home opener to the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-16, and then rebounded on the road with a 35-0 win against the Miami Dolphins. We look a bit deeper at their most recent game against the Miami Dolphins to see how they were so dominant and if the score was misleading at all. (1:35 - 4:22)Josh Allen, the runner-up for 2020 NFL MVP, has been underperforming so far, and we wonder if this is just a fluke, or if this is something we can capitalize on. Allen has turned the ball over once in each game. Will that streak continue? Or will he get right against our reeling defense? Maybe both things happen? (4:23 - 7:50)Aside from the quarterback, we look at the rest of the team. The Bills have been running the ball very effectively, averaging 4.7 yards per carry, and the Bills defense has been nothing short of excellent to begin the season, allowing just 8 points per game on that side of the ball, which is best in the NFL. (7:51 - 8:40)We then jump into how our Washington Football Team matches up with the Bills, beginning with our defense against their offense. How will Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, and Daron Payne do this week? Will the Front 4 get back to what they do best? KDot and Amit each give their keys to victory on defense and actually conflict with the best approach for stopping the Bills offense. (8:41 - 16:19)Flipping sides of the ball, we discuss the Washington Football Team offense against the Buffalo Bills defense. What does Taylor Heinicke need to do? Is the best strategy to continue hyper-targeting Terry McLaurin (14 targets last week)? Or should he mix it up more and get the likes of Logan Thomas, Adam Humphries, Dyami Brown and Antonio Gibson involved in the passing game? KDot and Amit give their keys to victory on offense. (16:20 - 24:14)We end the show with our predictions for the game! Comment below on what you think is going to happen in the game this Sunday! 1pm on FOX. This episode focuses on the crushing Miami win and a preview of the attack that could happen against the Washington Football Team. Bills fans are breathing a fresh sigh of relief after the 35-0 win in week 2. However, expectations are still very high for this offense. Also, I would remiss not to mention as a member of the USAF, that this episode is also a hope to reach out to other veterans around the world. Keep up the hard work defending this great country. Thank you to all who have, and may our prayers and hearts be with the families who recently lost their loved ones in the recent event in Afghanistan.
