Drew & Rob talk with Antonio of Breaking Tackles Giants Podcast to discuss the Giants defensive line 2022 positional review. The headline will of course the surge of Dexter Lawrence. Sexy Dexy was the best player on the defense for the Giants and one could argue he was the best player they had on either side for the 2022 season. Leonard Williams had some injury issues but was solid when on the field though not nearly the level he was two years ago. Will he be back next year? Are our reserves good enough? Will Dexter Lawrence get an extension this offseason?

Adam and Andy break down the first big off-season move for the Giants. Yes Joe Schoen has provided more cap relief to work with this offseason, but how it gets spent will be in large part determined by the negotiations with Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. The guys discuss if Kenny Golladay will catch on elsewhere in the NFL, and how additional cap space could or should be spent. Will there be a big slash made or is this the continued process of rebuilding the roster and preparing for the Dexter Lawrence and Andrew Thomas extensions. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/support

Adam and Andy talk the Divisional Round loss and the key contract conversations around the Giants. The most important quotes came from Daniel Jones, who said all the right things regarding wanting to be a Giant and the success this team can build on. There was a clear sentiment in his comments that suggests he(and is agent) know the market is thin for QB needy teams and this will not necessarily be a "hometwon discount" scenario. How could a rising price-tag impact Joe Schoen's approach? Saquon Barkley said all the right things in wanting to return while knowing he has reset his value after injury filled seasons. Leonard Williams seemingly wants to stay attached to Dexter Lawrence, who's emergence as one of the top DT in the NFL will only serve to benefit Williams performance, but the $32m cap hit will need to be adjusted if Joe Schoen is looking to keep the veteran lineman in New York. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/support

Hour 1: The Jets interviewed Nathaniel Hackett for the Offensive Coordinator position and Gio thinks he's dumb. Boomer said that's not true and some guys are not cut out to be Head Coaches, but are really good Offensive Coordinators. He has a solid track record there. Gio also thinks the Jets think that if they get Hackett, they will get Aaron Rodgers too. Gio thinks Frank Reich should come here as Offensive Coordinator since Rob Saleh will be gone soon and he can become Head Coach. We also went through some potential Offensive Coordinators for the Jets. C-Lo is in for Jerry today and starts with Giants' players thoughts on playing in Philadelphia. Gio wonders why Giants' fans would go to Philly and risk getting harassed at the stadium on the way out, no matter how the game goes. Wink Martindale talks about loving being the Defensive Coordinator for the Giants and isn't here for a stepping stone to another job. He also said Boston Scott is not a Giants killer. Joe Burrow showed up to his press conference with the wrong jersey on. Gio wonders if Burrow is the coolest player in the NFL. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Wink Martindale and his potential to become a Head Coach in the NFL.  Hour 2: Boomer said the Giants need to stay away from the three and outs on the offensive side and can't fall behind the Eagles early. They are a tough team to come back on. The Eagles have a great Head Coach now in Nick Sirianni and had another good one in Doug Pederson when they went to the Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Boomer has a feeling Gio is going to pick the Giants this week. C-Lo returns for an update but first Gio said that Hofstra reached out to see if he wants to sit on the bench for a basketball game. Dexter Lawrence was mic'd up and said pilates has been doing him good and also called out a Viking lineman for giving him hugs. The Bengals feel disrespected being underdogs and the fact that the NFL is also getting ready to sell Bills/Chiefs tix for Atlanta. Joe Mixon is fired up because of the disrespect. In the final segment of the hour, Stephen A. Smith has to apologize for comments on Rihanna, even though he didn't say anything bad about her.  Hour 3: Gronk criticized Aaron Rodgers for saying he wants to win another MVP instead of saying he wants to win another Super Bowl. Former NY Giant Brandon Jacobs shows up in the studio to give Gio a Giants playoff T-shirt. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about NIL deals and college players. We also talked about the Vikings' loser DNA. In the final segment of the hour, Eddie the picks jockey won again. There have been a lot of updates about his life and his teeth. We updated everyone here.  Hour 4: Saturday night is going to be packed in sports bars for Giants/Eagles. Al and Jerry will not go into a hot air balloon.C-Lo returns for his final update of the morning but first we talk about WFAN management not wanting Boomer to go up in a hot air balloon. Mike Kafka and Wink Martindale have interviews scheduled for Sunday. Chris Russo was not happy that Stephen A. Smith is missing shows to promote books. The Cowboys signed another kicker just in case Maher has a bad week of practice. In the final segment of the show, Gio has three social media stories. Trey Lance used the fingers crossed emojis on a post of Ran Carthon getting the GM job in Tennessee. And Peter Schwartz responded to a tweet, ‘as a celebrity' he didn't have to pay for his blue checkmark on Twitter.

Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with 49'ers players loving Brock Purdy the same way Jets players talk about Mike White. Dan Campbell's got some nuts on him and also gets distracted by the wave in the stands. A Ravens player tried eating raw liver to get jacked like the Liver King. The Celtics beat the Lakers last night and LeBron is not interested in moral victories. Draymond Green had a fan tossed last night. He said the fan threatened his life. The Devils lost their fourth straight last night, this time to the Stars. And the Islanders lost a shootout. In the final segment of the hour, Micah Parsons isn't sure if Jalen Hurts is an MVP, or if it's because the Eagles team is so good.  Hour 2: We took calls comparing Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott. A caller thinks WRs are more important than the QB. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Brock Purdy and the crowd noise he's expecting to face tomorrow in Seattle. Julian Love was on with Tiki and he talked about the 4th and 7 TD he gave up. Jerry has audio of Micah Parsons and Von Miller talking about Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. Jerry Jones says he's ‘a flea man' as he tells us about fleas and putting them in jars. Draymond Green had a fan tossed for threatening his life. We also heard Alex Ovechkin's 800th goal. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Scott Shannon retiring and the ‘Go Buchannon Go' guy called Tiki Barber yesterday.  Hour 3: The company has named the CBS-FM studio after Scott Shannon. Who will replace him in the morning slot? Today is also the return of the company's cafeteria Christmas Party. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Carlos Correa to the San Francisco Giants. Geno Smith talked about Brock Purdy and the 49'ers as they come into Seattle tomorrow night. Dexter Lawrence talked about the huge Giants/Commanders Sunday night game. Dan Campbell said he accidentally called the fake punt. Jerry Jones talked about OBJ and the Cowboys. Colt McCoy is ready to take over for Kyler Murray. In the final segment of the hour, Al opens a gift and Boomer turns on a caller's wife with his Yellowstone hoodie. A caller said Dan Campbell was just goofing around on Pat McAfee's show. Hour 4: Scott Shannon is retiring this week so he stopped by the show to talk to us. Jerry returns for an update and Scott is still with us. He wishes he got to interview John Lennon. He interviewed all of the other Beatles but never John. In the final segment of the show, Yussef comes in to talk about Morocco and the World Cup.

Standig Room Only: A show about the Washington Football Team and D.C. sports

The Athletic's Ben Standig is talking about Sunday's Commanders-Giants game with playoff implications in the balance. Guest: Pat Leonard with the New York Daily News. Washington is favored. Should they be? Fear from both sides with Saquon Barkley. Daron Payne and Dexter Lawrence. Taylor Heinicke vs. Daniel Jones. Plus, the latest on Chase Young, Antonio Gibson, injuries, the right guard change, and whether Washington was designed to be a run-first offense.

From 'One Giant Step': Shaun Morash and Paul Dottino are back in to break down the Giants 24-16 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday. While the scoreboard says this was a one possession game, this one truly never felt in doubt. Saquon Barkley led the way with a career high 35 carries- which he converted into 152 yards and a touchdown. Cool, calm and efficient is how to describe Daniel Jones performance. He made to throws when it mattered and continues to be a leader for this team. Paul takes a victory lap on the Lawrence Cager prediction, yet another TE stepping up for the Giants. While Kenny Golladay came up short in his return, recently acquired Isaiah Hodgins counties the hot streak for GM Joe Schoen - finding contributors for this team where others may not see value. It goes without saying that now at 7-2 the Giants can dispense with the questions about their quality of play. The defense continues to make key plays behind Dexter Lawrence and all signs point to a team ready for a second half run.     To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy   Learn more about your ad choices. Hour 1: Boomer was at UBS Arena for Rangers/Islanders last night and they featured Boomer on TV. A reporter from the Associated Press caught up with Hal Steinbrenner and essentially said Aaron Boone is coming back. Andy Martino from SNY was back at it with his Yankees news, saying players were not happy with fans booing Aaron Judge. Boomer thinks Aaron Judge likes the idea of being a legacy Yankee, but Gio doesn't think it matters to him. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we talked about Al being fooled by some sort of Andre the Giant story on Twitter. Yesterday on Twitter, a 60 Minute piece with George Steinbrenner from years ago resurfaced where he talked about losers. The Knicks beat Charlotte in OT, 134-131. The Nets lost to the Bucks 110-99 and Steve Nash was ejected. Bill Belichick is asked about the QB situation and it does not go well between him and reporters. Rob Saleh is sick of the ‘receipt' comments and questions. Daniel Jones appreciated being NFC offensive player of the week. Kenny Albert gives a shout out to Boomer while at the Rangers game. In the final segment of the hour, there was another misreported death. This time it was Jerry Lee Lewis.  Hour 2: The NFL trade deadline is this coming Monday. Will the Giants find a WR? Gio says Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy's name has come up. Gio says the NFC stinks (except for the Eagles, Cowboys & Giants). Jerry returns for an update and has audio from last night's Knicks win over Charlotte. Jalen Brunson had 27 points. In the Nets game, Kyrie was telling Ben Simmons to shoot. Steve Nash was ejected in the game. James Robinson is fired up to play for the Jets this week. Russell Wilson worked out on the plane to London, doing high knees in the aisle. The Rangers lost to the Islanders with Boomer in the house. In the final segment of the hour, Gio puts on the Jets black helmet and black jersey. Do you have Jets fever? Hour 3: Gio takes off the Jets jersey and replaces it with an Islanders jersey to annoy Boomer. Gio says you have to beat the Patriots this week. They were blown out by the Bears. They have two mediocre QBs. Caller says sports radio in Boston still thinks they're the ‘same old Jets'. Jerry returns for an update, but first Gio tells us that Brandon Tierney wants the Jets helmet for his son. Jerry starts with audio from last night's Knicks win against the Hornets. The Nets lost to the Bucks and Steve Nash was ejected. Mac Jones says he's ready to go against the Jets whether he starts or not. Gio says Zach Wilson will throw over 1 ½ TDs this week. Rob Saleh talks about new RB James Robinson. Dexter Lawrence is ready to chase Geno Smith this week in Seattle. Aaron Rodgers doesn't understand why people have a problem with things that are truthful. The Islanders beat the Rangers on the Island and Boomer was in the house. In the final segment of the hour, we talk about Brandon Tierney wanting the Jets helmet we have in the studio. Brandon joins us in the studio.  Hour 4: The Yankees can't bring back Cashman and Boone but lose Judge to free agency. A caller says there has to be extra pressure on the Yankees to sign Judge as the San Francisco Giants play at Yankee stadium on Opening Day 2023. Jerry returns for his final update with audio from George Steinbrenner on 60 Minutes talking about losers. Jerry also had audio from the Knicks win against the Hornets. Steve Nash got ejected during the Nets loss to the Bucks. Kyrie yells to Simmons to ‘shoot it'. Tom Brady talked about playing Thursday night after a Sunday. Who will Tom Brady date next? The Rangers lost to the Islanders in Long Island last night. In the final segment of the show, if not Brian Cashman, then who? A name that seems to come up a lot is David Stearns from the Brewers. He has now stepped down from his job with the Brewers. Could be coming to the Yankees or the Mets. A caller from Kansas City is not impressed with Patrick Mahomes.

Dan and Nick break down the All-22 coaches film of the Giants defense against the Jaguars in Week 7. As promised, they follow the film and refuse to sugarcoat it – point blank – the defense was uncharacteristically undisciplined and it lead to major breakdowns in run defense and in coverage. These breakdowns stemmed primarily from the second level play from the LBs. They go over struggles from Jaylon Smith and Tae Crowder, lapses in coverage, a total lack of pressure, Doug Pederson winning the chess match and several plays where the defense wasn't aligned/ready just before the snap before breaking down some of the great reps from Adoree Jackson, Dexter Lawrence and others – and then finally handing out superlatives: best player, highest-effort player, unheralded player and grades for both the pass rush and run defense.
