Send us a textIs Abdul Carter destined to become the next superstar for the New York Giants? In this segment from 2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates, Drew and Rob break down why the hype is growing around the Giants' No. 3 overall pick. From Joe Schoen's recent comments on the Up & Adams podcast to a bold prediction by former NFL star Shawne Merriman on Good Morning Football, the buzz around Abdul Carter is impossible to ignore. Merriman even declared, “I believe Abdul Carter is going to be the Defensive Rookie of the Year,” citing Carter's explosiveness and instinctive playmaking.Schoen gave fans a deeper look into Carter's work ethic, leadership, and fit in Shane Bowen's evolving defense. Carter has been the first to arrive at workouts, showing the same relentless drive that got him drafted so high. Schoen also gave insight into how the Giants plan to utilize Carter alongside Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux to create a dominant, versatile front. But that's not all—Dru Phillips praised cornerback Deonte Banks' offseason growth, noting that fans are going to see “a different Tae” in 2025. There's also movement on the offensive side, with wide receiver Gabe Davis visiting the Giants. As Jordan Raanan hinted, there's real momentum for a reunion with Daboll and Schoen, who know Davis well from their days in Buffalo. This segment also covers Schoen's vision for the upcoming season, his thoughts on the tough early schedule featuring divisional matchups, and the mindset inside the locker room. He didn't hold back about his excitement for second-year players like Tyler Nubin and Phillips, new veterans like Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo, and how the mix of youth and leadership can elevate the Giants' defense. We also touch on the team's future at quarterback with Jaxson Dart. Schoen spoke about the collaborative process that led to drafting Dart, his fire and passion, and how his competitiveness and toughness can help unify the entire roster, not just the offense. If you're looking for the latest ny giants news and updates, the inside scoop on Abdul Carter's potential, and how the Giants are building for 2025 and beyond, this is the giants channel to be watching. Send us a textDrew and Rob break down all the latest New York Giants news, including draft prospects, quarterback options, and the recent NFLPA report card that ranked the franchise's facilities and team culture. They start with a deep dive into the Giants' draft strategy, discussing potential targets in the upcoming draft. The “Would You Rather?” segment puts the spotlight on some of the most intriguing college prospects, including two-way star Travis Hunter, pass rushers like Abdul Carter, and standout quarterback options like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. With multiple positions of need, the Giants have several directions they could go on draft night.  Quarterback remains the hottest topic, and rumors suggest that Matthew Stafford is the team's top priority at the position. ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported that the Giants are keeping a close eye on Stafford's situation with the Rams before making any major moves. But is Stafford the right answer for New York? The hosts discuss alternative QB options in another “Would You Rather?” segment, comparing names like Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and even current Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito. Could a young quarterback like Jaxson Dart or Cam Ward be a better long-term investment, or does New York need a veteran presence to steady the ship?  The conversation then shifts to the Giants' NFLPA player report card, which revealed some concerning trends. After ranking eighth overall last year, the Giants dropped significantly in key areas. Ownership, led by John Mara, saw its grade drop from a B+ to a C+, with players ranking the team 22nd out of 32 in terms of commitment to facilities and fostering a winning culture. The treatment of families, locker room quality, and nutrition programs also received disappointing marks. However, there were bright spots, as the strength and conditioning coaches earned an A-, and Brian Daboll still has the support of most players despite some concerns about his receptiveness to feedback.  On the injury front, there's good news for Giants fans. Dexter Lawrence was seen competing at the Pro Bowl and appears to be in good shape. Andrew Thomas is also progressing well, with no boot on his foot and reports that he's been active in the weight room. John Michael Schmitz, Joshua Ezeudu, and other offensive linemen have been putting in work during the offseason, showing dedication to improving for next year.  The show wraps up with a look at Howard Cross III, a potential Giants draft target and the son of former Giants legend Howard Cross. The Notre Dame defensive lineman has deep ties to the franchise and has expressed his desire to follow in his father's footsteps. Cross embraces his underdog mentality, comparing himself to Batman—relying on film study, skill, and intelligence rather than brute strength. He believes his speed and versatility could complement a dominant force like Dexter Lawrence if given the chance to suit up in blue.  With so many moving pieces this offseason, the Giants have crucial decisions to make. From potential QB acquisitions to draft-day targets, every move will shape the franchise's future. Giants' Salary Cap Soars, Offseason Scenarios & Floyd Mayweather Part Owner?

Send us a textThe New York Giants head into a crucial offseason with a massive salary cap increase that could give them the flexibility to reshape the roster. The NFL has informed teams that the cap will rise significantly, landing between $277.5 and $281.5 million. With this increase, the Giants currently hold around $45.1 million in available cap space, according to Spotrac. But that number could skyrocket past $85 million if they make expected moves, including cutting veterans like Nunez-Roches and restructuring key contracts. This level of financial freedom could position the Giants to be major players in free agency.  As the Giants plan for their future, two of their stars have received well-deserved recognition. Dexter Lawrence and Malik Nabers both landed in PFF's Top 101 players list. Lawrence continues to be one of the most dominant defensive tackles in the league, finishing with top-three grades at his position and racking up nine sacks in 2024. Meanwhile, Nabers was not only the best rookie wide receiver in the league but also ranked among the NFL's top overall receivers with 1,204 yards, proving he is a cornerstone for the Giants' offense moving forward.  Adding to the offseason buzz, PFF outlined a dream scenario for the Giants that includes signing veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs and drafting quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The idea of pairing Diggs with Malik Nabers would immediately elevate the Giants' passing attack, while Sanders' polished mechanics and strong passing foundation make him an intriguing potential franchise quarterback. ESPN's Jordan Raanan broke down what it might cost for the Giants to move up to the No. 1 pick, with a package including the third and 34th overall picks, plus possible additional Day 2 selections.  The Giants also said goodbye to a former player as Jon Feliciano announced his retirement. Feliciano reflected on his time in New York, calling the team's playoff win over Minnesota his favorite moment. Meanwhile, the coaching staff takes a hit as running backs coach Joel Thomas departs to rejoin the New Orleans Saints under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.  In a surprising turn, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is reportedly leading a group looking to buy a 10% stake in the New York Giants. Mayweather, alongside real estate mogul Meyer Orbach, has reportedly secured $200 million in an escrow account as part of a larger $700 million proposal. If successful, this move could shake up the ownership landscape for the franchise.  With major financial flexibility, potential blockbuster moves, and ownership intrigue, the Giants are setting up for a defining offseason. Send us a textIn this episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob tackle a packed agenda, diving into the latest headlines, developments, and season recaps surrounding the Giants. The show kicks off with the shocking news that the Giants have fired Defensive Backs Coach Jerome Henderson, who had been with the team since 2020. Safeties Coach Mike Treier was also let go. Henderson was instrumental in developing rookies Tyler Nubin and Dru Phillips into productive players this season, and his past work included helping elevate players like Fabian Moreau and Jason Pinnock. However, a massive drop in turnovers, including a franchise-record 11 straight games without an interception, and the limited development of Deonte Banks seem to have factored into the decision.  The show shifts to discussions about potential coaching changes at other levels, focusing on the future of former Giants Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale. After a stint as Michigan's defensive coordinator, Martindale is interviewing for NFL positions, including meetings with the Falcons and Colts, with the Bengals rumored to be interested.  Drew and Rob also cover some welcome news for fans: the Giants will not be raising ticket prices for the 2025 season. Season ticket holders received confirmation through a letter, ensuring some stability for those attending games at MetLife Stadium.  A highlight of the episode is the recognition of rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who has been nominated for NFL Rookie of the Year. Nabers set a Giants franchise record for receptions in a season with 109 catches, surpassing Steve Smith's 2009 record of 107. His achievements also placed him second in receptions and receiving yards among rookies this year and broke the all-time rookie record for games with five or more receptions. While he is a standout candidate, Drew and Rob acknowledge that he may finish behind his college quarterback Jayden Daniels or fellow rookie Brock Bowers, given the historic competition.  Finally, the episode concludes with an in-depth review of the Giants' defensive line performance during the 2024 season. Dexter Lawrence led the group with another dominant season, recording nine sacks, 16 quarterback hits, and a stellar 89.9 PFF grade. Other players like Rakeem Nunez-Roches and Elijah Chatman provided moments of impact, while others, such as DJ Davidson and Elijah Garcia, contributed in more limited roles. The hosts also touch on the futures of free agents like Armon Watts and the potential for offseason changes to bolster this unit.  This comprehensive episode offers Giants fans everything they need to stay up-to-date on coaching changes, player milestones, and a detailed look at one of the team's key positional groups as the offseason begins. Hour 1 The Giants have completely fallen apart and now multiple players are saying the team is soft and not giving full effort. That's the type of stuff that gets coaches and GMs fired. Adding fuel to the Giants fire is Saquon Barkley having another huge game for the Eagles. Would Bill Belichick be interested in this? It's going to be a complete rebuild if they get rid of Schoen and Daboll. And what type of Jets news are we going to get this week? Is Aaron Rodgers going to shut it down for the season? Why is he not getting his injury diagnosed? How did things crash and burn so quickly for the Jets and Aaron Rodgers? C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update and starts with the sounds of the Giants losing to the Bucs. Dexter Lawrence said the team played ‘soft' and ‘missed a lot of tackles'. Malik Nabers talked about not getting targets in the first half. Daniel Jones will clear waivers and be available for teams at 4pm. The Cowboys beat the Commanders in a wild final 3 minutes. We heard from Eagles radio as Saquon had another huge night. In the final segment of the hour, Mike Francesa said on his podcast this weekend that he thinks Rodgers is hurt, which is exactly what Boomer said last Monday. Hour 2 Saquon Barkley had an unbelievable game last night against the Rams as the Giants were losing again at MetLife. Jay Glazer said there is a widening divide between Jets players and Woody Johnson. Boomer said the source must be Rob Saleh and or Joe Douglas. C-Lo returns for an update, but first we talk about his haircut which appears to be a mohawk. C-Lo starts with the Giants losing to the Bucs, including a fumble in the red zone to start the third quarter. Multiple players called the Giants soft. Brian Burns said, ‘it's ass'. Malik Nabers chewed gum while saying the team was, ‘soft as f**k'. He also said, ‘obviously it ain't the quarterback'. The Cowboys beat the Commanders in an exciting final 3 minutes of the game. The Chiefs needed a game winning FG to beat the Panthers. Boomer said the Dolphins seem to be making a move. In the final segment of the hour, Army just couldn't hang with Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium. Rutgers had a crushing loss to Illinois at home. Hour 3 Could Aaron Rodgers be placed on injured reserve, benched, or cut in season? Boomer said Rodgers has a left hamstring injury but he's trying to play through it and be a leader. What type of GM and coach will come to the Jets? Who would want to work for this organization if you have another option? Dianna Russini actually brought up Eric Mangini for the Jets. Gio said if he was Daniel Jones, he would try to sign with the Niners. Boomer thinks the Bucs and Dolphins are going to wind up as Wild Cards. Gio is a Vikings fan, but is not ‘fully activated' yet. If they face the Lions in the playoffs, he will be fully activated. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Brian Daboll's postgame comments where he had no answers. We also heard from a frustrated Tommy DeVito after the game. Saquon Barkley had another MVP type game last night as the Eagles beat the Rams. We heard from Jerry Recco as Rutgers lost against Kennesaw State in Georgia. We heard from Chris Carlin as Rutgers lost to Illinois in football on Saturday. In the final segment of the hour, somebody ‘shushed' Gio's wife at the live show Friday night. A caller said the Giants fans need their own Joe Benigno. Hour 4 Saquon is having a great year which just seems to be rubbing it in the faces of Giants fans. Both the Jets and Giants need to draft the right quarterback, and neither has so far. The man who ‘shushed' Gio's wife on Friday night calls in. We looked ahead at the Giants schedule to see if they will win anymore games. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and starts with Giants players after the game saying they played ‘soft'. And Malik Nabers is tired of losing and being soft. Boomer wonders who's not doing their job on the Giants. Nobody is naming names. The Moment of The Da ...

Drew Lock spoke to the media yesterday and is confused and not happy being skipped over as the number two quarterback. The Giants leapfrogged him for the fans. They want Tommy DeVito and they are giving them a reason to come out on Sunday. If DeVito plays well we'll ask why he didn't get a start sooner, and it will hurt their draft order. Kirk Cousins could be available as a ‘stop gap guy' for the Giants. Boomer thinks if this was an away game for the Giants, Lock probably would have gotten the start. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with a preview of Steelers/Browns tonight. There could be snow tonight in Cleveland. Dexter Lawrence talked about the benching of Daniel Jones and Brian Daboll talked about Dexter's comments. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talked about Thanksgiving. Ocho said he'll see if a follower of his will let him go to their place. In the final segment of the hour, over 30 million people watched the Sunday game between the Chiefs and Bills. Netflix could be a major player when the NFL rights come up for CBS or Fox.

Boomer said Todd Bowles is going to come in and ‘blitz his ass'. Boomer wonders what Mike Vrabel is up to. A caller said he hates everything about the Tommy DeVito situation. Hour 3 Tomorrow night is Boomer & Gio Live at the Paramount. Peter Schwartz priced himself out of participating. Big Zoo decided to go see Wicked instead so he's out as well. A caller said he played all of the WFAN theme songs at his wedding's cocktail hour. That got us to play the creepy song someone did for Anne Liguori. Jerry returns for an update but first a caller asks if he heard a Gio commercial correctly, that his daughter likes the feel of his underwear. The Syracuse women's basketball coach is pissed that the fans don't seem to care about them. The Steelers are only 3.5 favorites in Cleveland and Boomer thinks it should be more. In the final segment of the hour, there's a jackknifed tractor trailer that is wreaking havoc on Long Island. This is an important game for the Bucs so Tommy DeVito could spoil it for them. Hour 4 Yesterday Boomer said that he thinks Aaron Rodgers is injured. Some people thought Boomer was making excuses for him. There is something wrong with his left leg and he's out there playing hurt. A caller said Boomer would drive to his high school in a red convertible and steal all the girls. A caller wants to know how we can keep Eddie from retiring. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the audio of Sal asking if Boomer is jealous of Joe Burrow. Hour 1 Last night we had a high scoring game between the Bengals and Ravens. But once again, the refs were the story of the game. They had two non-calls on the Bengals 2-point conversion which could have won the game for the Bengals. We wondered if the refs are being told not to call penalties late in games. Boomer said the NFL has a major problem. The Bengals loss was good for the Jets, but Gio doesn't think they are winning in Arizona on Sunday. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds from last night's Ravens win over the Bengals. Al Michaels said ‘too many games end this way' when talking about penalties not being called on the 2-pt conversion. Joe Burrow said he's never gotten those calls so he doesn't expect them. Sal was a guest with Chris Russo on the Jimmy Traina podcast and Russo wants the money owed him by Sal and Gio. Gio told us the real story about the money he owed Russo's bookie. Boomer was on the Fox News Weather Update podcast. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the Giants missing out on Jayden Daniels because they won too many meaningless games at the end of the season. Worst case scenario would be they do the same thing this year. Boomer thinks they're going to ‘beat the pulp out of the Panthers'. James Jones of FS1 gives a ‘my bad' to Dak Prescott now that his hamstring is torn off the bone. The Breakfast Ball on FS1 suggests a penalty box in the NFL. In the final segment of the hour, Gio wonders if we should have zero Juan Soto discussions until he signs. Boomer said no, because it's the biggest story in the baseball offseason. Hour 1 We have a lot to get to today but we started with the great season the Mets gave us. No, it didn't end in a championship or a World Series appearance, but this is a team that will live in Mets lore for a long time. One thing the Mets need is better bullpen arms. The Yankees will face the Dodgers in the World Series and this is exactly what MLB wanted. How will the Yankees bullpen handle the Dodgers? Boomer called the Giants loss ‘an ass kicking'. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and he started with the sounds of the Mets season coming to an end. Tommy Edman had a big night including a homer. Carlos Mendoza gave credit to the Dodgers. Pete Alonso said he loves being a Met and representing Queens. Gio thinks Alonso is a goner, but Boomer thinks he'll be back. And Juan Soto is going to take the biggest offer. John Sterling was on the call as Juan Soto hit the game winning HR. Next up Jerry has the sounds of the Jets losing to the Steelers and Russell Wilson. The Jets scored zero points in the second half. Aaron Rodgers talked about the 4 straight losses. We heard from the team of Jerry, Boomer and Phil Simms as Saquon Barkley and the Eagles crushed the Giants. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talked about some of the things he witnessed while working the sidelines of the Giants/Eagles game, including John Mara trying to work his way over to say hello to Saquon. Saquon running all over the Giants was exactly what John Mara didn't want to happen. Hour 2 The Jets have now lost 4 in a row and the Steelers scored 31 unanswered points. Gio said the team is rotten. They have scored a total of 14 points in the second half of their 4 losses. They get New England this week and that team is really struggling. They have the Patriots, Texans, Cardinals, Colts and then a bye. Boomer somehow thinks they can win all of those games (we will check during the break to see if Boomer is smoking something). Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Mets season ending. We heard Howie Rose as Mookie Betts hit a ball off the left field wall. Carlos Mendoza talked about the great Mets season they should feel proud of. Mookie Betts talked about playing the Yankees in the World Series. Positive Tommy is not leaving, he's not going anywhere now that the Mets season has come to an end. The Jets had a lot of issues last night in their loss to the Steelers. Rodgers threw a pick after it bounced off of Garrett Wilson's chest. Dexter Lawrence talked about Barkley running all over the Giants yesterday. Malik Nabers said, ‘watch the target tape, I was open'. In the final segment of the hour, we heard from a Yankees fan living in Houston and a caller who didn't like that Batman, Michael Keaton, was taking shots at the Jets before the game. And Joe Benigno went back to his greatest hits. Hour 3 The Mets didn't have huge expectations this year so the series loss to the Dodgers didn't make us feel bad about the season. We slayed the dragon known as the Atlanta Braves. We beat the Brewers, beat our enemies in Philadelphia. Gio doesn't want next year's expectations to ruin the season, but he's not sure if that's possible. The Dodgers hitters obliterated the Mets pitching in all the games the Dodgers won. We talked about the Dodgers bullpen vs the Cleveland bullpen. The Yankees are underdogs in this series for a reason. Callers are angry at Boomer for saying the Yankees had a ‘cake walk' to the World Series. Boomer said the Dodgers are the toughest team the Yankees will play, which is why they're favored. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about YouTube TV making you watch the Liberty if you wanted to also watch the Jets and Mets at the same time on the same screen. Jerry actually started with the Liberty in his update just to bust our balls. Next we heard from Howie Rose as the Mets lost to the Dodgers. The Steelers beat the Jets, who are now 2-5 on the season. Dan and Nick break down the All-22 coaches film of the Giants defense in their WEek 5 win over the Seahawks. They break down just how dominant a performance it was outside of the two minute drill before half, one drive Seattle used tempo and late-game conservatism as Shane Bowen tried to bleed clock.
