    (2:30) When the requested genre is Country music (3:40) Instincts to say no to a gig vs. wanting to be “professional” (4:30) Hella micro-aggressions: giving her strange looks, uninviting vibes, the feeling of being one of the only black people at the event, getting thrown into MCing, coordinating and more when she was booked solely to DJ (5:42) The added pressure when you are covering a gig for someone else (5:50) Hella more micro-aggressions: Calling her a man’s name, snapping fingers at her, ordering drinks from her while she was DJing (7:38) Everybody just started laughing at me (8:05) “I just can’t believe this Blackie” (9:49) “Do you have any of YOUR music?” White guest asking Purple Lettuce to play hip hop (11:00) Venue owner shoves finger in her back and threatens to call police on her while she is DJing the wedding party (12:40) “I wanted to put him in his place, but I have to think about all the things that could go wrong, and then I’m going to be blamed. And that’s what I have to think about all the time, not just DJing, but in LIFE… It takes it back to slavery.”  (14:10) “I just felt so helpless” (15:06) When they request Freaky Friday by Lil Dickie & Chris Brown (16:50) The racist little girl (17:44) Playing said request as the DJ and one of the only People of Color at the event, with a dance floor full of white people screaming the N word, even though you are playing the clean version.
