If you've ever used your upbringing or your past as an excuse, this is an episode you can't afford to miss. Mike sits down and chats with Kendal Netmaker, award-winning entrepreneur, author, and keynote speaker who is on a mission to empower and motivate people around the world by sharing his story of resilience and leadership. He and his siblings were raised by their single mother in Sweetgrass First Nation, and although surrounded by poverty and very few opportunities, he was able to rise up and harness his gift of storytelling to help change the world. Listen in as Kendal shares his story of entrepreneurship against the odds, how he bet on himself and never let his failures stop him, and why the best foundation starts in the home. We also chat about the power of owning your story (no matter what it entailed!) using your story to lift yourself up, and why it's often the best leaders who have overcome the most in life. http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/84
John Langan is an award-winning author and a speaker who has touched thousands with his story on resilience, perseverance, and intergenerational residential school trauma. He's also a soldier, a police officer, traditional knowledge and language keeper, and a father and husband. He stopped by the show to share some fantastic wisdom about growing up Indigenous and overcoming life's many obstacles. We get into so much, including what drove John to share the beauty of Indigenous culture and ceremony, what it means to bring back the warrior society in a modern sense, and how to approach elders respectfully. He also shares his perspective on the importance of fathers, what it's like raising daughters, and how youth can stay on the right track and out of trouble! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/83
Did you know that you can use your breath to do so much more than just live? That you can use it to actually thrive? In this episode, we're bringing some awareness to a practice that, in our opinion, is not talked about enough. If you've never heard of the term breathwork, or you're just not sure what it is, this is an episode you won't want to miss as we dive into the modalities of the practice and how it can help you in your personal transformation, your healing process, and at the end of the day, even in your relationship. We're exploring the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of breathwork, how to connect with your higher power through your breath, and how you can use breathwork to detoxify your body (and who doesn't need that?) We also talk about what you can expect from an upcoming Masterclass on breathwork that you don't want to miss because it WILL change your life! Show notes & links
What does it mean to be a man? There are probably a thousand different answers to this question, but there is one thing that is certain no matter how you define what a man is: if he's not living to his purpose, he will not find true happiness. In this episode we're diving into what it looks like when men are living purposefully, including what it can look like in their relationships, as fathers, and more importantly, how they feel about themselves. We're also getting a look into Mike's brain to get his perspective on what it means to live with purpose, and he'll discuss how he turned things around to find his own purpose in life. The power of a man's purpose is about so much more than “being a man” - it can shift the whole balance and dynamic in your relationships and your entire life for the better, which will ultimately work to make the world a better place! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/82
Sherry Gaba is a licensed psychotherapist and life coach who helps people cope with codependency, love addiction, toxic relationships, and mental health issues. Among her many accolades, she's also a leading expert on addiction and recovery and has appeared on TV shows like VH1's Celebrity Rehab, Inside Edition, and has also been featured in publications like Cosmo and Women's Health (just to name a few!) We are so excited to have her on the show today to talk all about toxic relationships, love addiction, and codependency. We're diving into the top things that define a toxic relationship, what it means to “love bomb” someone, and how to know whether you might be a love addict. This is a must listen for anyone in a relationship! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/81
We had a baby! This probably wasn't a surprise for anyone because no one can stay pregnant forever, but it certainly felt like a possibility in the weeks leading up to the birth of Bear. In this episode, we're diving into the details of the birth, from the lead-up with the castor oil eviction notice to Bear being born ‘en caul,' to what it was like having Lennox present for the labour and birth. We also talk about our experience with our midwives and why we chose to have a home birth (and how it didn't exactly go as planned). If you love birth stories, this is an episode you definitely won't want to miss! Link for the stack: https://revivedcouple--infostack.thrivecart.com/mdl
What do you get when you combine sex, spirituality, erotic massage, and a 1970s porn theatre? You get one really interesting conversation. Kenneth Ray Stubbs is a Sexual Shaman who has a really amazing life story, from working at a porn theatre during his hippie travelling days, to studying massage, joining the Faculty at the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, and publishing numerous books on sexuality and related subjects. Kenneth was there in the early days of the emerging field of sexuality and has a fascinating perspective on the topics of sex, sexuality, genders, and relationships that you won't want to miss. In this episode, we talk about so much, including what it means to approach sexuality in a spiritual way, where the idea for the concept of the sexual shaman came from, how couples can reconnect sexually, and why Kenneth believes that porn is just plain boring. We also discuss the importance of being present with your partner and how we have culturally constructed the ideas we have around sexuality and spirituality and masculine and feminine - this is a truly riveting conversation, so grab your favourite drink, get comfortable, and enjoy! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/79
Women don't need men. Men and women are not equal. Have we triggered you yet? If we have, that's good, not because we want to start any internet fights or piss people off, but because it means that there's something inside yourself that you may want to pay attention to. In this episode, we're talking about how modern feminism is messing up relationships with men. There, we said it. It's causing confusion in men, it's causing unnecessary conflict, and it's causing men to feel like they have to walk on eggshells. We'll be sharing what we mean by “modern feminism,” how it is messing things up, and answering the question: do women really need men? The answer might surprise you. Michael has an amazing guest for next week, the sexual shaman...
We're talking about what it means to be a man (this might surprise you), how to cultivate confident masculinity, and how that confidence can completely shift your relationship with yourself and your partner. We're also diving into what we see often from men that we work with, how men can learn to take accountability for their shit, and why we need to stop viewing vulnerability as a weakness. Life is too short, so let's stop taking it for granted and start living! Should be back with new episodes next week, still getting all the new born cuddles we can with our new little guy.
He was born July 5th and we've been consumed in the baby cuddles and getting settled into the newborn life and finding out groove as a new family of 4. Laura had a great, fast delivery and we'll probably continue from last week's episode all about trusting and surrendering and will be sharing our birth story shortly. In the meantime, if you haven't already, make sure you go listen to last week's episode all about trust and surrender. We've gotten incredible feedback about that chat from people from different stages and walks of life. We'll be back shortly, we're just soaking in all the baby cuddles that we can before this time passes by. We love you all & thank you for all the support.
Pregnancy is one of those life experiences that can open up a whole bunch of feels, especially when you feel like you might be pregnant forever. In this episode, we open up about what has been coming up for us now that our due date has passed and what we're doing to unpack those emotions as they arise. We're sharing some of the realizations that Laura has had, what's been coming up through this experience, and the tools she is using to deal with the feels head-on (and in a healthy way). This is a real and honest conversation about surrender, healing, and learning to let go. Even if you're not pregnant, this is an episode you won't want to miss as we discuss how to move the memory and the energy out of the body when emotions surface so you can find the beauty in the breakdown - and be open to receiving the lesson you're meant to!
You've probably heard the saying “to soften your heart” - but what does that actually mean? We've been talking a lot about men's work, and now we're shifting focus to talk about the importance of women doing the work to soften their hearts and their bodies - from what that looks like to why it's important not just for each woman, but for her children and (of course) her relationship as well. This is an episode for the ladies, so if you're curious about doing the work, codependency, the wounded feminine, how to let go of stuck emotions (and why you might be holding on to them in the first place), and so much more, this is an episode you won't want to miss!
Michele Rogers does not mess around. She takes risks, tries new things, and does not shy away from living life on her terms. She is a mother, a partner, and an entrepreneur who has had many adventures in business, and she joins the show today to talk about the challenges that women face - from motherhood, to unrealistic societal expectations, to business, and beyond. We discuss all the many hats that Michele has worn over the years, and she shares how her partner helped to support her throughout all the ups and downs, especially when it came to starting or running a business while juggling the responsibilities of a family. We also dive into the dangers of competing with your spouse, the power of teamwork, and the realization that Michele had that changed the dynamics in her relationship for the better.
The title says it all: how can you ensure you're being a team player to your partner, and why does it even matter? We're getting into it in this episode and exploring all the many ways that competition between partners can happen (score-keeping housework, anyone?) so you can be aware when it's happening and start to work WITH your partner - instead of against them - because the truth is, competing against your partner only causes strife, frustration, and ultimately, dysfunction. We also dive into how partner competition affects the polarity in your relationship, and why being in your most natural energetic state makes life just flow a whole lot easier - and who doesn't need more of that in their life?
The old adage “men are from Mars, women are from Venus” is almost never as apparent as when two people of the opposite sex are trying to communicate with each other. Unless, of course, they've done the work to actively learn how to communicate with each other! In this episode, we're diving into communication between the sexes: why it can be so hard, how energy fits into the equation, and how you can overcome communication challenges with your partner so you can start to get into the deeper topics in your relationship. We're talking personal responsibility, communication styles, sharing what the game-changer is for communicating better with your partner…and Mike is sharing his long-held secret on how he learned to understand the opposite sex. Grab your significant other, get comfortable, and listen in to find out how to say what you need to say without causing the next world war!
Do you feel like something isn't quite right in your life, but you can't exactly put your finger on what it is? She had a high-stress career that left her feeling misaligned, and that misalignment showed up in many areas of her life - from her body to her relationships with others. Listen in as Tara shares her journey from a high-paced career to Spiritual Life Coach, including the catalyst that led her to make big life changes, and how her inner peace and happiness has had a ripple effect on those around her. We also explore the power of knowing your truth and who are you at your core, the importance of surrender, and we share the most important piece of advice for women who are struggling. So get comfortable and listen in, this episode could change your life!
Tyrell Shepherd has been in business for over 10 years as a Senior Marketing Director with World Financial Group, and he helps hard-working parents understand the money game and get ahead financially. He is also a husband, father to two girls, former collegiate hockey player, and has been a friend of Mike's for over 25 years. In this episode, we dive into so much with Tyrell, including what it means to do ‘men's work,' the importance of self-development (the hardest work you will ever do!), and the benefits of eating well and getting some movement into your day. Tyrell also shares his entrepreneurial journey, how this journey changed once he was in a committed relationship, and what it's like raising daughters in today's world. #TyrellShepherd #MichaelLaRocque #WFG
Have you ever dreamt of starting over to create a life of more impact and more fulfillment? In 2016, Anthony Astbury did just that. He left a 20-year career as a trader and broker and completely changed his world. On his journey to self-discovery and personal improvement, he began specializing in coaching men to master their mindsets, and in 2018 he launched the Whole Man Academy, which connects men through live and online events and gives them the tools to develop strength, resiliency, and confidence. In this episode, we talk about how our culture encourages men to be and act a certain way, which contributes to burnout, destructive coping mechanisms, and can even lead to suicide. We also talk comparison syndrome, the unique challenges that men face (especially with the proliferation of social media), and what Anthony is doing to change the course for so many men. And don't miss our discussion on fatherhood, the universal challenges of being a parent, and why homeschooling does not mean your kid will turn out weird! https://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/68
We all know that starting a business is hard, but it's unquestionably even harder when you're a wife and mom with already defined roles in your family. Carmen Nolin is a mom, a wife, a business coach, an entrepreneur, and a self-described country girl. She went from working a full-time job to creating a successful network marketing business that more than doubled her income, and she joins the show today to talk about the challenges she faced along the way - and how she overcame them. We're diving into the mindset shifts that Carmen had to make when she first started her business, how she got her husband on board with taking on more household responsibilities so she could work on her business and some of the most common struggles that entrepreneurial women face. Grab your favorite drink, get comfortable, and listen in to hear the female perspective of balancing a business and a relationship! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/67
You don't always get what you want…but sometimes you get exactly what you need. Jen Anderson is a friend, mentor, and Manifestation Mentor who guides women to learn how to own their happiness, and in turn, own their life. We're diving into so much juiciness in this episode and exploring the importance of investing in your growth, how a coach or mentor can help you get to the next level in your life or business, and the reasons why women so often have blocks around making the investment in themselves. We also talk about the many ways that we lie to ourselves (we all do it!) and why it takes getting uncomfortable and “naked under our trench coats” to really grow to the next level as a human being - so get comfortable, take off the baggy sweatshirt that is hiding your beautiful self, and get ready to own your happy! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/66
One challenge we hear about a lot in our work with couples is how the excitement of a new side or full-time hustle often wanes when the reality of running a successful business, household, and relationship hits. Adam Green is a father, a husband, and has been an entrepreneur since the age of 22, and he's also been around a lot of entrepreneurial women as a high-ranking leader in Young Living Essential Oils so he knows how the constant pull of different priorities uniquely affects entrepreneurial women - and he's here to talk about how partners can be the support instead of the barrier so that everyone wins. We're diving into how starting a business can affect a relationship, the importance of working in tandem with your partner, and what the silver bullet is that everyone needs in their relationship (and especially when you throw entrepreneurship into the mix). If you are one of the lucky ones to have an ambitious and entrepreneurial woman in your life, this is an episode you won't want to miss! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/65
Burpees. You know you (probably) hate them. We all hate them to some degree. But what if you could harness burpees to actually improve your relationship and your life? In this episode we're chatting about the benefits of exercise above and beyond the physical aspects - we're talking about how making a commitment and following through can have massive ripple effects on your relationships and even on your kids. And if you want to get in on the action and leverage the physical and emotional benefits of exercise, join Mike's Dads Doing Burpees 10-Day Challenge and start changing your body, your life, AND your relationships. We promise that you don't have to love burpees, but you do have to be open to loving fun, accountability, and a community of support. Show Notes & Links
It's one thing to have awareness of the tools needed to improve your relationship, but it's another thing to actually see those tools in action. In this episode, we're sharing a personal experience we had recently that highlights how the communication skills that we teach in Safe & Wild can actually play out in real life, and how small shifts over time can lead to massive changes. We also discuss how it truly only takes one person to change a relationship just by doing the work on themselves - with or without their partner's help - and why effective communication is so important in any relationship (hint: without it, it's a rocky and lonely road). Conflict will always be a part of a relationship, but it's how you handle the challenges that dictate how healthy your relationship is, so get comfortable and take a listen for some pro tips on how to improve communication with your partner! It's Q&A time! We're unwrapping this Canadian man of mystery (aka Mike) and diving into what exactly he does, why he does it, and how it impacts his life and the lives of other men. If you've been wondering what it's like to work with Mike, or whether doing the hard men's work is even worth the effort, this is an episode you won't want to miss. Mike shares his philosophy on coaching, what it means to be masculine, and how having somebody in your corner - especially someone who has been in your shoes before - can make all the difference to your happiness (with yourself and in your relationships). At the very least, you'll learn the one thing that is guaranteed to make your life and relationships a whole lot easier, and a secret life hack that Laura wasn't even aware Mike partook in! Sometimes life throws you curveballs, but it's what you do with those curveballs that can make all the difference as to whether you sink or swim. You probably noticed that we fell off the face of the earth for a few months (and you may have also noticed the name change!), and to say we've had a lot going on would be an understatement. In this episode, we're giving you the update on the good, the bad, and the unexpected curveballs that life threw our way, what we did with them, and what you can expect from us in the next little while. So get comfortable and listen in to find out where the hell we've been, what we've been up to behind the scenes, and all the fun things we're working on birthing into the world this year (if that's not a hint, we don't know what is!)
What is life without a little adventure? We truly believe that a life without adventure is a life stagnating, and in this episode, we're talking about how to keep the spark alive in your relationship, get closer with your partner, and feel more alive - all by just adding a little bit of play to your life. We're diving into some of our best stories from the pre-child travel era (including a few instances where we were probably closer to being killed in our sleep than we even realized) and talking about how to add adventure to your life even if you do have kids or are finding that travel is not in the cards right now. Adventure and play does not have to be elaborate, but we can guarantee that it is one of the best ways to keep your relationship alive and thriving - so make it happen!
What does it mean to really and truly support your partner? That's what we're talking about today as we dive into the truth about supporting your partner in all aspects of life: their dreams, hopes, desires, goals, and yes, even their hare-brained ideas. Support can be so much more than a way to show you care, it can also be a way to break out of the comfort zone and really grow as a couple and as individuals. We're also diving into how fear can sometimes get in the way of support in ways that you might not even be aware of, and what you can do to identify and dismantle the fear, get over yourself, and level up your life AND your relationship. Sound interesting? Get listening!
This one is for the parents. You probably know what we're dealing with in the dreaded aftermath of Halloween: the constant asking for candy, the sugar highs, and the lack of sleep. It's enough to make even the most level-headed parent pull their hair out. While we don't have a cure for the Halloween hangover, we do have some thoughts about how to handle it without losing your mind, all while keeping your kids happy at the same time. If you're finding that the Halloween cuteness has worn off and you're ready to ban Halloween forever, take a listen and let us know what your thoughts are about navigating through the Halloween haze.
We are so excited to share that by the time this episode drops our Safe & Wild 6-Week Self-Paced Course will officially be ready for purchase - and with that huge news, we are dedicating this episode to everything you needed to know about Safe & Wild! Have you ever played “Would You Rather?” If you have, you probably know some of the insights that can come from the game, and if you haven't, well…you'll definitely want to check this episode out! We're getting fun and playful and getting to know each other just a little bit better with a round of “Would You Rather?” - and you get to tune in to all of the hilarity and dirt! While this episode is definitely more light-hearted than some of this season's past episodes, we're hoping that you'll take this exercise and incorporate it into your own relationship to not only have fun but also to get to know your partner on a much deeper level. We promise you WILL be surprised by some of their answers!
When was the last time you watched a TV show or movie that was actually representative of real life? If you haven't seen Scenes From A Marriage yet, we highly recommend that you set some time aside and check it out because it is one of those rare shows that shines a candid light on a typical marriage. We binge-watched it this weekend and there were so many lessons that we took from it that we're chatting about in this episode - and hopefully not giving too much away for those who haven't seen it yet! We're talking about sex, love, happiness, polarity, the perfect relationship, and even monogamy. There are so many things to reflect on and our hope is that if you do dive into Scenes From A Marriage it will lead to deeper conversations with your partner that will bring more intimacy and happiness to your own relationship.
This year has been all about change for us, as it has for many of you, and in keeping to that theme we have some big life news to share! This episode is all about not settling, taking risks, and finding your purpose and passion, so if you're needing some inspiration or motivation in your life, this is an episode you'll want to check out!
Unless you've been living under a rock for the last 18 months, you know that things have been batshit crazy in the world with the ongoing pandemic and a lot of fear, anger, and division in so many of our lives. You are not alone if you feel like you're a top spinning out of control, and in this episode we're diving into the shift in consciousness that is happening in the world, the fear and anger that comes with massive change, and what you can do to keep yourself - and your sanity - intact. Not only that, but we're also sharing our personal stories of breakdown, what we've learned from them, and what you can do to find the beauty in the breakdown and appreciate the lessons that come from any awakening. Yes, we're getting deep and a little bit dark today, but by the end of this episode we promise you'll feel some hope and light and who knows, you may even learn to welcome the storm!
We're back!!!!! Welcome to Season 3! It's been awhile, but we are so excited to be back and to share with you where we've been over the past five months and what you can expect in the near future. In this episode we're diving into what's been happening with Laura's health, what we absolutely love about our new house, and we're sharing what we've learned since we've been gone (it's a lot!). And of course, we're talking about Safe & Wild and what we're doing to make it even better (hint: you won't have to be coupled up to join!) We are so excited to be back, and would love if you would drop us a line with any comments, questions, advice, or topics you want us to cover in future episodes. Enjoy!
We are celebrating one whole year of podcasting and we’re talking about it all today. We’ve learned a lot doing this podcast, and believe it or not, these lessons apply to relationships, both with yourself and with others. Things like starting with small incremental steps, getting out of the safe zone, and holding yourself accountable. This is our last episode for next few weeks, so take care, stay safe, and we’ll see you in June! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/50
We had a ton of fun with Lisa and Lindsay, who are Certified Professional Co-Active Coaches changing the world - and relationships - one tough conversation at a time. They believe that everyone deserves to be in a loving relationship and that quality relationships are the key to a fulfilled life. Coaching both individuals and couples, they help them transform their lives through their relationships by empowering them to be seen, heard, and understood. We’re chatting about how they pivoted from helping people respectfully separate while keeping their integrity, love, and bank accounts intact, to supporting couples who want to stay together achieve that goal. Lisa also shares her dating experience after divorce, Lyndsey discusses how she convinced her husband to become her relationship guinea pig, and we talk about what the number one relationship killer is. If you’re looking for a fresh perspective on relationships with lots of laughs, got comfortable and listen in! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/49
We understand that sometimes it’s hard to want to do the work in your relationship for your own sake. But what about for your kids’ sake? We all know enough about intergenerational trauma and wounds that get passed down through the generations - how we behave in relationships is no different. Our harmful patterns and habits get passed down to the next generation, who then pass it down to the generation after them, and so on. In this episode we’re talking about the importance of doing the work on yourself for future generations, what it means to be a leader, and why leadership starts at home, with yourself and your family. Even if you don’t have kids yet, or you never plan on having kids, this episode will hopefully shed some light on the importance of healing your wounds for not only yourself, but those around you.
This is a topic that is going to hit hard for a many of you: money and relationships. To chat with us about it we have Lindsay Sparrow joining us who is an expert on all things money and transition. She is a Financial Advisor, Certified Financial Planner and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst with 17 years of experience as a transition expert who does her best work when clients are going through a significant life change like divorce, loss of a spouse, retirement or become wealthy overnight from a sudden inheritance or windfall. We’re chatting about so many things in this episode: how to improve communication with our partner when it comes to money talks, how to get comfortable with your partner making more than you (men, we’re looking at you), and how to break the money wounds that are passed down from previous generations. Lindsay is also giving some great tips to help us all keep more of our money, and that alone is worth it’s weight in gold!
It’s sometimes too easy to get caught up in a “me” vs. “them” mentality when it comes to your partner, especially if you’re feeling like you’re doing it all in a relationship - whatever “it” is! In this episode, we’re giving you a small sample of what you can expect from our Safe & Wild program and touching on the importance of cultivating a team mentality and open lines of communication with your partner. And yeah, you’ve probably heard this all before, but we can guarantee that you’ve never heard it like this. If you like what you hear, make sure to get on the waiting list for the next round of Safe & Wild starting in a few weeks, we’d love to have you!
This is a short and sweet episode, but still an important topic: dating your spouse. And even better, how to date your spouse without even leaving the house. If you’ve fallen out of dating your spouse for whatever reason - whether it’s the chaos of life that is keeping you busy, or the pandemic, or even just the season of life that you’re in, this is an episode you’ll want to check out. We’re talking about why intentional connection time with your spouse is so important and how to actually make it happen (because we know it’s easy to say one thing and do another, especially after a long week!) We’ll also give a hint to the men listening on how you can really make a date night special - and it doesn’t involve anything other than your brain. http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/45
We were hard on women last week, and this week we’ve giving it to the men (just kidding - sorta!) We’re talking about what it means to be a man (this might surprise you), how to cultivate confident masculinity, and how that confidence can completely shift your relationship with yourself and your partner. We’re also diving into what we see often from men that we work with, how men can learn to take accountability for their shit, and why we need to stop viewing vulnerability as a weakness. Life is too short, so let’s stop taking it for granted and start fucking living! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/44

We’ll be sharing what we mean by “modern feminism,” how it is messing things up, and answering the question: do women really need men? The answer might surprise you.
Do you ever feel like you have to do everything yourself? Or that you have to have everything figured out? In this episode, we’re diving into the fallacy of doing everything yourself, and discussing not only why it’s a completely unrealistic expectation, but also how it’s detrimental to our well-being and our relationships. And we’re talking about flipping the narrative to get away from this idea that men who seek help or support are “weak” - this belief is not doing ANYONE any favours! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/42
We all know that life is full of ebbs and flows. There will always be struggles, challenges, and hard times, just like there will always be joy, pleasure, and happiness. We’re also told to always aim and strive for good feelings and good times, and to avoid pain and struggle. Sounds great, right? Why would we want to seek out and embrace pain? Well, simple. The struggle is where the wisdom is, and it’s where the growth happens. That’s why today we’re talking about how we can embrace the lesson in the experience, and lean into the hard things, and embrace them for what they’re teaching us instead of resisting the struggle. Are you ready?
Co-dependency is a pretty big buzzword, but do you really know what it means to be codependent? We’re letting it all flow in this episode and talking about codependency, interdependency, and the difference between the two. We’re diving into what the common characteristics of a codependent relationship are, how to tell if you might be in one, and what you can do to empower yourself out of it. We’re also sharing why we don’t recommend hitting rock bottom in your relationship, and why codependency often translates to other areas of your life outside of your intimate partner relationship. If you think you might be codependent, or you just want the low-down on what that even means, this is an episode you’ll want to check out!
We’re sharing our experience taking time alone together, getting away from the grind, and reconnecting with each other. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the nitty-gritty of everyday life that we forget those things that made us fall in love with our partners to begin with. Making an intention to slow down and get to know each other again as human beings (and not necessarily in a sexual way!) can completely take your relationship to a different level. We were reminded of these things on a recent trip away, and we wanted to remind you of them as well. So grab your favourite drink, get comfortable, listen in, and start making plans for how you can reconnect with your partner! http://www.larocquelife.com/blog-feed/39
The time has come! We are releasing our signature program, Safe & Wild, and applications are officially open! If you’ve been listening for the last few episodes you know that we’ve been dropping some truth bombs and insight into what exactly we will be talking about in Safe & Wild - the dance of the masculine and feminine energies, the patterns we fall into in relationships, and how we communicate (or don’t) with each other. If you’re ready to up-level your relationship, deepen your connection with your partner, and finally figure out your roles so you can actually enjoy coming home at night, you will definitely want to check it out…not only to evolve and grow with your partner, but to change and heal intergenerational trauma and patterns for future generations. What could possibly be worth more than that?
Patterns. We all live by them, but it’s not always easy to identify them. And so often, we’re living by patterns that have been handed down to us from our parents, and our parent’s parents - shit that is so engrained in our way of being and doing that we don’t even realize until that moment when we think “wow, I sound like my mother right now.” In this episode, we’re talking about patterns, including why they always repeat themselves until you do something about it, and how you can disrupt the cycle of unhealthy patterns. We’re also sharing our own real-life example of our own relationship patterns and what we did to change them. This is a great episode to tune in to if you ever wonder why the same fights keep happening in your relationship, or you already know that you live by unhealthy patterns already but don’t really know what the hell to actually do about it!
Men are from Mars, and women are from Venus, right? In this episode, we’re diving into masculine and feminine energies and what these energies mean for your relationships - you might be surprised just how prevalent these energies are in the nuances of any relationship, not only for the sake of polarity but for your passion as well! We’re also sharing a personal story that happened recently where we were clearly not on the same wavelength (it might have involved sherpas), and Laura is spilling all her secrets about sex and reminiscing about that time she totally disappointed her parents (not related to sex!) If you’re even just a little bit curious about how to live and love with harmony and passion by balancing the masculine and feminine energies in yourself and your relationship, this is an episode you won’t want to miss!
We’re hopping on to do a quick episode and give you some real talk about how we’re feeling over social media (and why), the major shift that is happening with the empowered masculine becoming dominant, and why so many men are scared off from really feeling their emotions. We’re also giving a recap of our year, and sharing some exciting news on something that we’re launching soon! This is an episode you definitely don’t want to miss (we promise you’ll laugh out loud at least once), so grab your favourite drink, get comfy, and listen in!
