Our lives in many ways, are similar to the life of sheep. We may think that we are totally in charge of our lives, but in reality, our lives are based upon the circles we choose to operate within. We are like sheep in that we are communal, we tend to operate in flocks, and we are cared for by others (shepherds) who frame our lives. Today we invite you to look at your choice in shepherds. Where in your life might you have the experience or feeling of being stuck? Where might you want to consider redirecting your efforts rather than redoubling your efforts?  Where might you rethink your direction and listen to that still small voice within and heed God's inspiration and guidance? We must be cognizant of the times we live in and the calling that we all have as believers. After the death and resurrection of Christ, the Apostles called into action to spread the good news and message of Jesus Christ. They were faced with resistance. They were warned not to preach and heal. The religious leaders saw the threat that challenged their authoritarianism. Despite this, they went ahead with their calling. We too have a similar assignment these days, and we too must act. Know that God is with you.God bless,Rev LeonActs 5:27-32

The joy of Easter is not about material things. Easter is about the demonstration of renewal and rebirth. It is about the rebirth within each of us of an even deeper awareness of what it means to be a believer. Let us acknowledge this rebirthing within and be filled with joy as we see these elements reflected in the new buds of spring rising all around us. Where there is no vision the people perish. Hope is wealth. Hope is prosperity. Hope is vision. When we become grounded in hope, we are able to see ‘God in all things. Let your steps be ordered by the presence of God's hope within.God bless,Rev LeonIsaiah 43:16-21

We can curse challenging conditions or we can embrace the challenges as an opportunity. When seasons change, we too must change if we are to match the direction of nature.  We can curse the snows of winter and forget about preparing for spring. Without preparation for spring, it is predictable that we will not have our gardens ready when it is their time. We will not have done what is necessary to put away the items necessary for winter weather. Things will be is disarray. We can curse challenging conditions of today's social and political climate, or we can prepare for a new season.Get ready for a change of season.God blessJoshua 5:9-12

Throughout history we have seen God's faithfulness. We may be distracted by current events or the temptation to bite the bait of entrapments that take us away from the awareness of God's presence in our lives, however, God remains the constant that provides for our overcoming. Remembering who we are in Christ is essential to survive the pitfalls of modern day trappings. The traps are too numerous, subtle, and deceptive. When you pray, are your prayers deep enough? Are you praying for the proper resolution? Do your prayers fulfill on your assignment from God? The father in this scripture prayed for his son to be healed. The disciples were not able to accomplish a healing. That's when Jesus was called in. Jesus asked the man if he believes that all things a possible through prayer. The father responded that he believed, but requested help with his unbelief.With that acknowledgment by the father, Jesus provided the healing. Even though we may believe, if there isn't a fullness within out hearts for truly believing, how can healing take place. Jesus opened a pathway of authenticity for this man to pave a pathway for the healing of his son. That's is what happens when we pray for the right things.God bless,Rev LeonJames 5:14-29

How tempting it is to “get back” at that person who did you wrong. How tempting it is to feed that internal demon seeking retribution for the harm that some person dealt to you. In the end, retaliation yields very little. The satisfaction is more about the ego than spirit. When we learn how to use the playbook of Jesus with those who spitefully use us, we are demonstrating some of the highest forms of divine love that this is.God bless,Rev Leon2 Corinthians 3:12 - 4:2

The world is hurting. Our neighbors are hurting. We are in an era where there is no one untouched by the events taking place. To say that we are facing challenging times is to put it mildly. The challenges present today are looming large all around the world. This is another type of pandemic that needs to be named and confronted. We are witnessing the challenge and potential disruption to systems of laws and government that threaten a way of life. This threat is not necessarily to the benefit of the people. What is one to do when the faith that has been placed in leadership takes a turn that is different than what was originally agreed upon with leadership? In being truly honest with ourselves there is only one law that remains true and consistent - that is God's Law. We must turn to God's Law not only in these times of turmoil, but at all times. There is an order to this universe. We have God's Law all around us from every cell in our bodies to the solar system and beyond. If you feel like challenging God, let me know what happens when you break one of God's laws like the law of gravity? If we apply that same awareness to our human experience, we will learn that God's Law serves the highest good for all people and not just some.God bless,Rev LeonPsalm 1 

There is confusion and chaos all over the world. There is a lack of clarity as to the solution. Who might be the proper person to deploy as an agent for change, correction, compassion and unity?Here Am I Lord, Send Me.God blessIsaiah 16

And the Greatest of These is Love1 Corinthians 13 is simply put, the recipe for love. As such, if we were to embrace the message found in this wonderful scripture, we would be amplifying God's voice in the world. We believers would affirm the fact that God truly is present in every moment of our lives.God blessRev Leon

Believe it or not, we should embrace experiences of cognitive dissonance. It is an opportunity to release misguided beliefs and embrace what God has for each of us in revealing our highest nature. This is how we can fulfill the guidance presented in Psalm 19:14 that says, “let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to you oh Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”God Bless,Rev LeonPsalm 19

Where does your light shine for others? Who holds you in the highest light possible? What does it mean to have your light shine? We will explore what it means to operate from your highest light. Most New Year Resolutions are dropped quite quickly after the beginning of the new year. I would offer for your consideration a different approach. Consider instead a New Year Revelation. Rather than resolve a human trait consider revealing a new Spiritual dimension of your being. Looking at life through such a lease will reveal that there are more treasures available through you by living the life that God has designed just for you. Happy New Year.Rev LeonPhilippians 2:1-11

Rather than make a New Year Resolution, consider a New Year Revelation.Consider revealing the expansion of your spiritual self. Consider the expansion of your wisdom. Luke 1:39-45 (NIV)39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”God bless,Rev Leon

Even in the face of adversity, there can be joy. When we suspend judgment based upon circumstances, we can see the greater good that God has for us. This is why Paul says, Rejoice Always.God bless,Rev LeonPhilippians 4:4-7

If the Apostle Paul were with us today with his message from back in his day, would it be relevant? What would that message sound like to us. In this episode, we reflect on his words as if he is with us. In so many ways that is the truth of this life if we take the time to listen to the voices that have gone ahead of us. What is it like to be an uninvited guest versus the experience of being invited? To be invited means that there is a place of honor. It is about being accepted and known. It is an experience of affirmation. When this happens in the process of a shared spiritual gathering, we are left empowered and uplifted. We are left feeling affirmed and encouraged. In the scripture found in Mark 13:1-8, Jesus is leaving the temple feeling empowered and also seeing that he is clear about what is important, and what is about to take place. It is true that we have all that we need within. Unfortunately, we have forgotten that these solutions are located within. In truth, we are far wealthier than we realize. When our focus is on what we may not have, we lose sight of the wealth that we possess. This is. When we pray for protection, it must be realized that the prayer is for our higher spiritual selves and not so much for the physical. When we are in tune with the presence of God within, we know and experience freedom from fear, we know God's peace, and we embrace God's love. This state of being is a Christian's place of refuge. There is a messiness in the world with our world leaders. How can we help to create a better world balance? What is to be done with and for those who hold positions of a sacred trust. Leading masses of people is a sacred trust. Have you ever been thrown under the bus? Have you ever been betrayed? What is there to do to repair these relationships and situations? Getting to the point of repair begins with acknowledging who you are in God's kingdom, and how we are to Forgive as Christians. Are we all insane? What does it look like to live in your right mind? Living a Christ-centered life does not have to reflect the life of a religious zealot or a hermit. We may be holding the wrong characters in high esteem. What the world may consider successful may not be the path forward for our children. How can we change the world for the better? Is it weak to be kind? Does one invite problems when being generous? Is true power, wisdom and strength reflected in measures of wealth and physical might? Faith without works is dead. How can we demonstrate faith in a manner to make it real? How can we take it out of the context of a fear based experience? How can we produce the acts that will cause our faith to be real as God has intended? We know people trust you, but are you trustworthy?We know how upset you get when others violate your trust, but what is it like for others whose trust you may have violated?Little do we realize that this is a form of serving God. Belonging is important to our human nature, and it is more important to our spiritual nature. When we locate our proper place for belonging, we are filled with the presence, power, and peace of God. We have all had various life improvement techniques. Whether it be the latest diet or a home-remedy for a health condition, we have tried to make changes with one program or another, and we have folks in our lives cheering us on. Sonya Massey was killed after calling police because she feared that her home was invaded. Those who have been charged to protect and serve actually took her life. How do we reconcile such a tragedy? We have heard of the phrase, “managing up” but do we practice it? Are we willing to manage (or actually lead) in a fashion that empowers? Are we willing to lead in a fashion that inspires new visions of self for others? Selfless service is what is going to save the world. It is quite simple. The more we take care of each other, the better it is for all of us. The more that selfless service is present, the less space there is for selfish consumption and hoarding. Have you ever gotten a stock tip for the best way to make a quick profit? Have you lost money following up on a similar “tip” that didn't turn out? What does it all mean in the end? While we may end up with a lot of the material, where is our wealth in relationships, and spirituality? If we truly worked together without any hidden agendas or preconceived ulterior motives, how powerful might that be? If the world operated with a sense that there are enough resources for everyone, and nothing at the expense of anyone, that would be extraordinary. We have been fooled into thinking that prosperity is scarce. That is not the case. This is not a message on prosperity as we know it. What is your image of the perfect father? Is it Cliff Huxtable? Whether your vision is based upon Hollywood or your own experience, we have to remember that fathers are also human. How we hold them with our judgments is important. Are we able to love them, warts and all? Let us pray for our fathers in whatever form they may present. There is this ever present question for many of us that seeks an answer to who we are on this earth. Many grapple with this question while others ignore it as a nonissue. When we come to the awareness that we are the children of God, and realize what that means and all that entails, life is transformed.
