The Gospel still works. Jesus still saves. And His call hasn't changed: Come to Me. Pastor Ryan Deas reminds us that the power of God is released through faith in God. The enemy is after your ears—because faith comes by hearing. This message exposes distraction, challenges surface-level Christianity, and pushes us back to raw trust in Jesus. It's not about fixing yourself before coming. It's about coming to Jesus and letting His voice transform you. Guilt, shame, failure? Bring it to Him. Whether you're the prodigal, the paralyzed, or the woman caught in the act—Jesus doesn't condemn. He heals. He delivers. He saves.Key Scriptures:Romans 1:16–17Romans 3:3–28John 8 (The woman caught in adultery)Matthew 11:28Luke 5 (The paralyzed man)Core Messages:The Gospel is the power of God for those who believe. You can't clean yourself up—come as you are.Faith activates the power of salvation, deliverance, and righteousness.Hearing God personally is essential; no one can do it for you.The devil's biggest trick: get you to stay away from Jesus.Don't run from conviction—run to Him.

In this episode we talk look at the reality of the spiritual realm and consider one component with regard to identifying the origin of thoughts.Other podcast episodes referenced in this one:Episode 24: The GospelEpisode 77: Fullness of joyListen to the sermon by J. D. Greear that I mentionedHere is the J. D. Greear Quote:"When the Holy Spirit, your real Shepherd speaks, it's in the context of hope. Yes, He will convict you of sin, but when He does, it is redemptive. He identifies what He wants you to change, He gives you a plan to do it, and He assures you of His ability to accomplish it through your life. His voice leads to clarity, and love, and life. When one of the demonic realm speaks to you with a fiery dart, it is in the context of condemnation and despair. It is never clear what they want you to change, there is certainly no hope or no redemption in it. The voice just screams hopelessness and despair.…When our enemy speaks, it has the soundtrack of death, and defeat, and confusion, and despair. When Jesus speaks, it is filled with invitation, and clarity, and love, and hope. Any voice leading you to confusion and despair is your enemy's voice, even if it's using valid questions or pointing out true facts.…My shepherd never leads to confusion and darkness. He leads only to life. Even if Satan is pointing out true things in your life, if it's leading you to despair, recognize that as his voice and resist it.…In your life, the voice of despair is the voice of Satan and never the voice of the Holy Spirit."Scriptures referenced:Psalm 127:1Matthew 10:282 Kings 6:8-17James 1:5Ephesians 6:10-13James 4:71 Peter 5:8-9Ephesians 4:26-27Luke 10:17-20Revelation 12:7-112 Corinthians 2:5-111 Timothy 4:1-22 Corinthians 11:13-151 Corinthians 10:13Psalm 91:11-12Hebrews 1:14Matthew 26:51-54Hebrews 13:2John 4:24Romans 8:28Genesis 1-3Genesis 1:27-28John 10:27Matthew 4:5-7Luke 4:132 Kings 3:5-10James 4:6Judges 6:36-40Galatians 6:2John 10:10aAs a reminder,  if you gave to this ministry in 2023 and didn't receive an email with your contribution records for when you file taxes, please email us at ijustwanttotalkabout@gmail.com, and we will get it sorted out! Acts of the Apostles 23:1-11 NLT1 Gazing intently at the high council, Paul began: “Brothers, I have always lived before God with a clear conscience!” 2 Instantly Ananias the high priest commanded those close to Paul to slap him on the mouth. 3 But Paul said to him, “God will slap you, you corrupt hypocrite! What kind of judge are you to break the law yourself by ordering me struck like that?” 4 Those standing near Paul said to him, “Do you dare to insult God's high priest?” 5 “I'm sorry, brothers. I didn't realize he was the high priest,” Paul replied, “for the Scriptures say, ‘You must not speak evil of any of your rulers.'” 6 Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees, so he shouted, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, as were my ancestors! And I am on trial because my hope is in the resurrection of the dead!” 7 This divided the council—the Pharisees against the Sadducees— 8 for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these. 9 So there was a great uproar. Some of the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees jumped up and began to argue forcefully. “We see nothing wrong with him,” they shouted. “Perhaps a spirit or an angel spoke to him.” 10 As the conflict grew more violent, the commander was afraid they would tear Paul apart. So he ordered his soldiers to go and rescue him by force and take him back to the fortress. 11 That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.” • • •Sermon Points:Jesus is with you.Jesus is for you.Jesus is going to use you. • • •Supporting Texts:Romans 8:28John 18:22-231 Peter 2:23Isaiah 43:1-22 Corinthians 4:7-12 • • •Challenge: Living the Christian life won't always be easy. And God's promise to us is that He will never leave us alone to accomplish His purposes for our lives. Pray and be on the lookout for opportunities to share the gospel with others. Ask God to give you boldness and wisdom as you share Jesus with others.

How To Talk To Your Kids about Biblical Sexuality - Episode 46

Christian Parent, Crazy World

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 31, 2022 31:41

Some topics that CPCW covers are relevant to lot of parents and a lot of kids, but the topic of sexuality is relevant to ALL parents and ALL kids. We cannot escape this issue in our families and our friendship circles. So who defines our sexuality? Our celebrities, our politicians, our teachers and school administrators, our friends, our feelings… or God. If we want to call ourselves Christ followers, the answer to that question must be God because He designed our sexuality. And the parameters He places around it in His Word are not there to oppress us and deny our authentic selves. Those parameters exist to bless us and to bring us freedom. In part 2 of a 4-part series on sexuality, Catherine discusses the loving parameters that God places around our sexuality to protect us and how can we communicate Biblical sexuality to our kids. Amen. A Collect for MissionAlmighty and everlasting God, who alone works great marvels: Send down upon our clergy and the congregations committed to their charge the life-giving Spirit of your grace, shower them with the continual dew of your blessing, and ignite in them a zealous love of your Gospel; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. General ThanksgivingAlmighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made.We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days;Through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.A Prayer of St. John ChrysostomAlmighty God, you have given us grace at this time, with one accord to make our common supplications to you; and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his Name you will grant their requests: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting. Amen.DismissalLet us bless the LordThanks be to God!BenedictionThe grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen. In the first 300 years of the church or so there was no such thing as Trinity Doctrine. And it is clearly the doctrine of men that originated in the 300s when there was a controversy between Arius and Athanasius. Arius was a priest at Alexandria and Athanasius was a deacon at Alexandria areas. Had argued that Christ was Son of God, but not Divine. Athanasius has argued that there was a God head of three persons, a father, a son and a Holy Spirit. And these three were co-equal. But one the Council of Constantinople had to vote on this and they voted in favor of Athanasius but it is a matter of History.Listen for more...Scripture referenced:1 Corinthians 11:3, 15:28John 1:8, 16:27-28, 8:58, 13:3, 13:24, 14:10, 14:26-28, 15:26, 17:21-22, 19:10Collosians 1:14-17Revelation 19:10Romans 8:16Phillipians 1:19Genesis 1:2Acts 17:29Ephesians 3:14-15For more Free books, Sunday teachings and bible studies, please visit us at: https://www.walkinginpower.orgDr. Bern Zumpano is a Pastor and Teacher of the Word of God who has authored several books on Spirit-filled living through relationship with Jesus Christ and walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit. Bern has not only been a born-again believer for nearly the past 40 years, but also dedicated 31 years of his life to the study and clinical practice of medicine and surgery in the fields of psychiatry and brain surgery. THE NATURE OF RESURRECTION1 - WITHOUT DEATH, THERE IS NO NEED FOR RESURRECTION.Genesis 2:16-17 - And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”  Psalm 19:7-11 - The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.  Psalm 119:9 - How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.  John 15:3 - You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  2 - WHAT GIVES POWER TO DEATH IS SIN.John 10:18 - No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.  1 Corinthians 15:55-57 - “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.  He is the Word of God incarnate - making this declaration:I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFETHE NEED FOR RESURRECTION1) MARTHAJohn 11:1 - 1 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. John 11:3-5 - 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” 4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. John 11:17 - 17 On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.John 11:20-28John 11:38-44DEADNESS OF UNDERSTANDINGProverbs 3:51 Corinthians 13:12Proverbs 21:2  Matthew 10:41Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life to UNDERSTANDING2) MARYJohn 11:1-5John 11:17John 11:20John 11:28-29John 11:32-34DEADNESS OF FAITHLuke 10:39Hebrews 10:38Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life to FAITH3) THE DISCIPLESJohn 11:1John 11:6-16DEADNESS OF REVELATIONMark 4:35-41Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life to REVELATION4) THE JEWSJohn 11:1John 11:17-19John 11:28-29John 11:31John 11:32-37John 11:38John 11:41-46DEADNESS OF BELIEFJohn 1:12-13Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life to BELIEF5) LAZARUSJohn 11:1John 11:3-4John 11:11 - 11John 11:17 - 17John 11:38-39John 11:43-44DEADNESS OF LIFERomans 11:29Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life to LIFEHebrews 9:27John 11:25-26Hebrews 3:15

We're looking at Sexual Orientation in a special two-part series. If this feels personal, that's okay. It's important to recognize that sexual orientation is quite personal. But, the world has laid out it's terms and it's ideals for what sexual orientation means. Our culture tells us who we're attracted to in fact, defines us. In this series, we'll be discussing the cultural conversation set up with cultural standards and comparing it to what Jesus has to say about you. The world is feeding you a narrative. Jesus is inviting you into your identity.Highlights:A Definition: Sexual orientation is the direction of your sexual or romantic attractions.Culturally, we talk about sexual orientation not as something people experience, not just as a feeling that they've got but as a matter of identity, a matter of who a person isChristianity would teach that people are much, much more than the direction that their sexual, romantic desires point them.We have to recognize Christ's perspective about sexual orientation is that every single one of us has a sexual orientation that needs His redemption. Every single one of us.Homework:Matthew 5:27-28John 4 Woman at the WellFor more on this topic, check our latest article Did Jesus Talk about Sexual Orientation?Transcription:Full Transcription Available hereSupport Becoming Whole

Psalm 72Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor.May he endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.Isaiah 40:1-11Comfort for God’s PeopleComfort, comfort my people, says your God.Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to herthat her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.A voice of one calling:“In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord;make straight in the desert a highway for our God.Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low;the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?”“All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!”See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm.See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his armsand carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.John 1:19-28John the Baptist Denies Being the MessiahNow this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”He said, “I am not.”“Are you the Prophet?”He answered, “No.”Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”John replied in the words of Isaia

Suspense has been used as an effective tool in literature, movie and television industries to keep us coming back; but when it comes to real life, we’d rather just do without the drama.
