Through intentional dreamwork practices such as journaling and inquiry, listeners learn how to tap into a wellspring of wisdom that transcends everyday awareness. The episode culminates in a profound invitation to connect with sexual energy not just as physical desire, but as a spiritual and creative life force. Andrea and Saranam discuss how sacred sexuality can become a pathway to higher intuition, manifestation, and connection with the divine. They explore the ways in which insight and guidance can be accessed not only through dreams or the body, but also through connection with realms beyond the physical plane—spiritual allies, ancestral wisdom, or higher self. EP #316 - Creative Legacy - A Solo Show featuring your host, Susan Burrell As we enter into the month of April and Spring I am pausing and sharing my thoughts about our theme for the month of April. Legacy. What is a legacy? And what about us is unique and often noticed by our friends and family? How are we remembered when we are gone? Many of us have our own ideas about what a legacy is or can be and l will touch on those ideas in this episode. What I am also exploring and sharing in this podcast is the idea of what it means to leave behind a "Creative Legacy." I love my job because I get to interview so many fascinating people and many of them are authors. I interviewed a poet and author last year, Jim Ellis about his newly released book, Breadcrumbs, Volume 2, Poems & Prose Found Along the Sacred Path. Jim's insights about his life, the life of those that touched him and his universal message are all beautifully expressed in his book through beautiful prose and poetry. It is uplifting and engaging, and like the Hansel and Gretel fairytale, the analogy here is that breadcrumbs shall be left along the path so that there is a clear trail back to what you left behind or what you are meant to find. Jim passed away earlier this year and I am dedicating this episode of Empowering Chats to his memory and the creative legacy his left behind. To listen to my previous interview with Jim where we talk about his book please visit: https://empoweringchatswithsusanburrell.podbean.com/e/5-10-24-jim-ellis-susan-burrell/ To purchase Jim's book, Breadcrumbs, Volume 2 visit Amazon: https://a.co/d/fVKNB20 To learn more about how I show up in the world visit: SusanBurrell.com
In this episode, I sit down with the radiant and wildly wise Valerie Robinson—holistic life coach, natural skincare formulator, homeschooling mama of two, and founder of Wild Hope Botanicals.Val and I talk about everything from her days on farms in France to tending goats and crafting herbal infusions on her homestead in Maine. We dive into what it really looks like to live in harmony with nature, how motherhood cracked her heart wide open, and the ways she's navigated health, intuition, and business on her spiritual path. She shares honestly about the shift from maiden to mother, building a soulful business without burning out, and how connecting with angels and spiritual guidance shaped her journey. Oh—and we get into other road bumps that so many of us wrestle with on the holistic path.Whether you're a mama, prepping to birth any kind of creation, a business owner, a seeker, or just someone looking to live more intentionally, there is something here for you. This convo is full of truth bombs, gentle encouragement, and earthy inspiration. Ep#276 - Steward of Inspiration, An Interview with Poet, James Anthony Ellis Welcome everyone to Empowering Chats. In this episode we have a fun and inspirational conversation with poet, James Anthony Ellis. I entered into this chat with the curiosity of an enthusiastic young child opening a present. In this case the present is Jim's latest book entitled, Breadcrumbs Volume 2: Poems and Prose Found Along the Sacred Path. Jim is a writer, a documentarian and a poet. I opened this chat by asking Jim, Why Poetry? You came from a journalism background so when or how did poetry become part of your self-expression? He responded by saying that he had recently asked himself that same question. The first poem he remembers writing was at the age of 10. And it was entitled, “The Clock of My Life.” And it was Jim's first experience of having a big discovery moment where he responded to what he had written with a resounding, “Whoa look at that!” And this is where the unveiling of something bigger than him came through. And he had no idea it was even there and yet he now knew he had access to it. It turns out his grandfather was also a poet. Neither of his parents were writers but later in life, Jim discovered the small books of poetry written by his grandfather. And they made a big impression on him. The inspiration is still pouring through Jim and he has gotten into a rhythm with it. Oftentimes it comes to him through a simple phrase spoken by him or someone else which then ignites a light or a flame within which needs to be expressed. Many times, within a 10 or 15 minute span Jim finds he is able to translate what he heard into a beautiful poem or into prose. Jim says he feels like he is the steward of the message. As though the muse is speaking through him. What is exciting for Jim is to share what comes through. Share the breadcrumbs so to speak. Jim wrote volume 1 of Breadcrumbs in 2012. That volume was all about leaving behind clues and treasures that he had gathered in his life. Volume 2 is a journey he is asking his readers to take along with him. It starts at the most “perfect place,” the beginning of life, and then it takes you through the challenges, the joys, the sorrows, and the euphoric highs that occur in all of our lives. Then he guides you to come full circle. Back to that perfect place. He wrote it for other people so that they could follow and receive the breadcrumbs and find their way back home. See what whispers into your heart when you crack open "Breadcrumbs, Volume 2." It's a gift you can give yourself. During our conversation, a couple of concepts arose. One was Jim catching the phrase “a life without cross outs” and commenting “that sounds like a poem that I can send to you later.” The other was Jim seeing me as “a gentle bird.” Both ideas were inspirations that ultimately and swiftly became full-length pieces of prose. I've included the links below to those beautiful pieces written by Jim. Through this episode, we explore how embracing our desires can lead to profound spiritual growth and fulfillment. We examine the intricate relationship between desire, vulnerability, and connection, and how these elements intertwine to guide us on a path of healing and deeper relational engagement. Evangelist Dr. Shamarian Smith-Love is a Christian author and founder of We Seal This Prayer By Faith, an intercessory prayer ministry encouraging women to pray using scriptures from God's Holy Word. Obedient to her calling to provide an exegesis of The Holy Scriptures, Shamarian prays that every Christian wife, called by God, will renew her purpose in The Kingdom by surrendering her marriage to the sanctifying grace of The Holy Spirit, committing to praising Jesus for blessing her covenant, bestowing peace in her heart for her husband, and restoring her joy in the favor of being chosen as his wife. Anointed to convey an uncompromised interpretation of the Holy Scriptures, pliable to the context of our daily lives, Evangelist Dr. Shamarian Smith-Love, writing intermittently under the pseudonym Eshe Osei, has penned over 40 Biblical reference books in Jamaican Patois (Patwah), commonly referred to as Jamaican Creole (Krio), and American English. Interspersed among Shamarian's most beloved books are nationally bestselling Christian Devotionals, The Glory in Gethsemane, Prayer Goals, and Resilience, globally cherished Scripture Studies, Pray Using God's Words, The Holy Spirit Always Intercedes, and Ester's Mantle, and her Marriage Intercessory Prayer Book, We Seal This Prayer By Faith, of which she hosts an accompanying prayer podcast available on audio streaming platforms, radio broadcasting networks, and on demand content. In this episode, Rev Karla discusses the five reasons the spiritual but not religious is a sacred path. We are breaking down misconceptions, sharing personal stories, and celebrating the beauty of diverse paths to the sacred. Rev Karla will expand on the five reasons the spiritual but not religious is a sacred and meaningful path by discussing: 1. Spirituality is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. 2. Discovering a profound sense of liberation outside of church. 3. Embracing the direct experience of the divine. 4. Integrating spirituality into everyday life. 5. Not feeling the need to explain your beliefs. You can read more from Rev Karla on this topic in this week's blog post and watch the uncut version of today's episode on YouTube.

Welcome to our sacred share, as my wife Alyson and I dive deep into the profound spiritual lessons we have learned throughout our journey of miscarriage and conception. Together, we reflect on the immense wisdom and personal growth we gained from this co-creation journey. Throughout our journey, Alyson and I encountered profound spiritual experiences, particularly through ceremonies centered around our desire to have children. Join us on this powerful episode as Alyson and I share our personal insights and experiences, demonstrating the transformative power of unconditional love in the face of adversity and the sacred journey of creating a family. While this episode intimately reveals our family journey with conception, we are NOT asking for or open to any advice or suggestions, regardless of positive intentions. We greatly misunderstand ourselves and other people when we take ourselves to be 'fixed', just ‘one-way'. However stuck we've become, there is something of us that is always changing, and even when we can't see it there's always the seed of change waiting for the right moment to burst forth. So how do we learn to trust that in ourselves and others that is life's never ceasing unfolding into itself? How do we undo the rigid stories and judgments that increase the distance between us? And how do we take up an understanding about ourselves and other people that allow us to be faithful to, as our dear friend Rosemerry writes, 'uncertainty as a sacred path'? This week's Turning Towards Life is hosted, as always, by Lizzie Winn and Justin Wise of Thirdspace. Turning Towards Life, a week-by-week conversation inviting us deeply into our lives, is a live 30 minute conversation hosted by Justin Wise and Lizzie Winn of Thirdspace. Find us on FaceBook to watch live and join in the lively conversation on this episode. You can find videos of every episode, and more about the project on the Turning Towards Life website, and you can also watch and listen on Instagram, YouTube, and as a podcast on Apple, Google, Amazon Music and Spotify. Here's our source for this week: Never the Same Sometimes a person wakes believing they are a storm. It's hard to deny it, what, with all the rain pouring out of the gutters of the mind, all the gusts blowing through, all the squalls, all the gray. But by afternoon, it seems obvious they are a garden about to sprout. By night, it is clear they are a moon— luminous, radiant, faithful. That's the danger, I suppose, of believing any frame. Let me believe, then, in curiosity, in wonder, in change. Let me trust how essential it is to stumble into the trough of the unknown, marvel how trough becomes wings becomes faith becomes math. Let me trust uncertainty is a sacred path. Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer ahundredfallingveils.com Photo by Lizzie Winn

Dorayne Breedlove is a storyteller, musician, artist, spiritual mentor, and teacher who leads drum circles and sacred circle dances. In this episode, she focuses on the practice of a labyrinth walk. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth is not designed with choices. There is one path that twists and winds your way to the center of the circular maze. That same path is followed to exit. According to Breedlove, a labyrinth walk is a spiritual walk that serves as a metaphor for life; there are a lot of twists and turns—the challenge is to stay present. Dorayne currently mentors children in a private learning association called The Pride. She provides project-based learning to these students and explains how she and her partner, Doug, instructed them to build a labyrinth near Austin, Texas. By entering a cycle in the middle of the location and using a long, marked rope in a compass-like manner, the group moved native rocks to define the path. The conversation includes a mention of Lauren Artress's book called "Walking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice. Dorayne's process starts with centering and connection. She sets an intention, whether to feel peace, process emotion, or gain insight about some life situation. Dorayne uses the inward journey for RELEASE. While walking this portion of the path, she releases judgment, control, negative feelings, fear, and shoulds. She creates space to receive. Once in the center, she RECEIVES impressions, guidance, insights, and intuitions. After leaving the center, she RETURNS with gratitude, reflection, and thoughts of integration. The podcast concludes with Dorayne sharing her enlightening thoughts from a recent walk. To find a labyrinth near you, visit www.labyrinthlocator.com. You can download a practice sheet on the Practice Guides subpage of www.spiritualartisttoday.com. Michael Kokal interviewed me on "The End of the Road podcast" and we discussed some fascinating subjects related to animism, shamanism, and the spiritual path. Animism is the belief in the existence of individual spirits that inhabit natural objects and phenomena. It is a shared belief and understanding of all native people across the globe since the beginning of humanity. Here are some of the subjects we discuss in this episode: - Understanding the importance of "clear reflection" to receive wisdom - The false idea of separation and not belonging - How to connect to the animate world - The path of service embedded into Nature - The original instructions weaved into the natural world - The vibrations and prayers of the elementals - Hearing the settled voices - Practicing prayers to relate - Calling the invisible And more... All the people you have met throughout your life and the experiences you have had up to this moment in time have made you into the person you are today. Yet, there still might be that inner voice whispering that there is more to life than you have been taught or have learned. Caroline Myss is quoted as saying that “as a vital part of a larger, universal spirit, we each have been put here on earth to fulfill a sacred contract that enhances our personal spiritual growth while contributing to the evolution of the entire global soul.” Connecting with the global soul Our individual souls are connected to a global soul comprising all life on the planet. Each person has a unique destiny and soul purpose and it's not about what kind of job you are doing or the things you own. T These might be a manifestation of what you become in the becoming of who you really are. It is almost essential to find alone time for contemplation and inner reflection and to walk your sacred path alone. The urge to walk a pilgrimage first starts as a whisper and becomes ever louder. The need to go on this soul adventure is sometimes met with strong resistance by the loved ones or family members around you. They will sense that you are in a process of shifting your consciousness and will confront you with all sorts of arguments to dissuade you from walking. The universe will test your willpower In a way, it is the universe testing your willpower but the sad truth is also that most people are too afraid to make the changes necessary to improve their lives. Family members or partners want you to stay in the tribe and share the same beliefs, mannerisms, and habits. Often they will be projecting their own fears onto you if you decide to go on a journey of untrodden paths. This week, I found myself doing something I hadn't done in a while: meditating. I felt called in my meditation to revisit a book I had once loved; Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chogyam Trungpa. I bought this book from the Shambhala Center in Boston where I first learned meditation almost 7 years ago. In this episode, I discuss: -A brief intro to the context and content of Shambhala, which is a secular spiritual practice with its roots in Tibet -A big question that has been on my mind: “How do I have compassion for myself knowing I benefit from systems of oppression? How do I find compassion for all living beings knowing that some of those beings are violent bigots?” -My memories of learning to meditate and what meditation means to me -Some of my favorite excerpts from The Sacred Path of the Warrior If you would like to go deeper into The Sacred Path of the Warriro, there is a free pdf available of the book here: https://7chan.org/lit/src/Shambhala;The_Sacred_Path_of_the_Warrior_by_Chogya.pdf If you are curious about my Mentorship Program and want to discuss the opportunity before prices go up in 2019, go to www.annajoyhealing.com/mentorship or contact me at annajoy@annajoyhealing.com To support the podcast financially, go to www.patreon.com/thequeerwitch to become a Patron or visit www.thequeerwitch.com to make a one-time donation Find me on instagram @thequeerwitch Join the Facebook community at https://www.facebook.com/groups/thequeerwitch/
