    Hillary McBride is one wise woman. Hillary is a counselor, speaker, writer and student of the heart and how it affects the body. She is a wealth of knowledge about how we process relationships, and while she shares so much information with us, she does so with such wisdom and compassion. She is the author of a beautiful book called Mothers, Daughters and Body Image: Learning to Love Ourselves As We Are, and how that process can bring healing and restoration to our hearts, bodies and our relationships. Hillary is gifted at giving verbiage to some of the struggles we carry around with us in a beautiful blend of scientific and spiritual perspective. She engages the conversation about not only how we as adults process emotions, but also how we talk about feelings with our young children and how important/significant that is to their all around well being as they grow into men and women who can better connect to their Creator, to their own hearts and the hearts of those around them.     Beth Wayland is a woman of incredible heart. She is the founder of a ministry out of Knoxville, TN called With Incorporated, which ministers to fellow workers in the trenches of the mission field. Beth spent many years on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru), and has spent countless hours listening to and engaging in the heart lives of people searching for the Hope only found in Christ. She has dedicated these last years through With Inc., to helping elevate focus on the heart of believers to the same level we tend to focus on the thoughts of believers, especially those who are in leadership positions. . Chili Frito chips Shredded Cheddar (or Mexican) Cheese Add to your preference: diced tomatoes, green onions, black olives and/or sour cream Kay's Taco Soup- (Courtesy of Emily's college mentor and friend, Kay Taylor) 1 lb of hamburger browned OR 1 lb of chicken breasts boiled and diced (or shredded) 2 cans of corn (drained) 3 cans of beans (you choose combo): pinot, kidney beans, black beans 1 pkg of taco seasoning mix 1 can of diced tomatoes 1 can of Rotel tomatoes and chili's 1 pkg of Ranch dressing mix Combine all ingredients in a soup pot. Cook med- med/low for 1 hour. Serve topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla chips. Kay's Potato Soup 1 bag of frozen hashbrowns (southern style or cubed) 1 onion chopped (When I'm in a hurry, I sprinkle several hearty dashes of Onion Powder instead) Water to just cover the potatoes and onion and cook  until just tender (not mushy) in soup pot Add 8oz of cream cheese and stir until melted 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can cream of celery soup ¾ stick of butter 1 ½ cups of milk (I usually use skim because its what's in our fridge) ½ tsp of garlic salt ¼ tsp of pepper 1 tsp of salt Cook on med-med/low for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve topped with shredded cheddar cheese and oyster crackers **Emily has made both of these soup recipes gluten free before. The taco soup is dairy free except watch what kind of ranch dressing mix you use. There are dairy free options prepackaged or to make your own.     Welcome to the Emerge Podcast! In this very first episode, you get to hear from us, Emily Humphries and Tanya Godsey. With the help of our dear friend Tracey Jones who was willing to join us as our interviewer, we share our stories of faith, friendship, the season we both find ourselves in and the history and heart of the Emerge Podcast.
