Jesus Follower's Greatest Witness for the Gospel of Jesus, in a Hurting World, is for Others to See Jesus in Them MESSAGE SUMMARY: You need to live the Christian life in whatever you do – at home; in your job; in the way that you drive; and in the way that you treat your friends. We live in a hurting world, but God wants more for you. To achieve God's desire for your life, you must stay in fellowship and communion with God; and you must let Him work in your life. In Colossians 3:17, Paul challenges us: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”. If you live your life, in all places and situations, in the name of Jesus, you will live a better life in our hurting world. As Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.". Remember, the greatest witness for the Gospel, as a follower of Jesus, that you can give is for others to see Jesus in you. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Hal Donaldson's faith-based humanitarian organization Convoy of Hope is a magnificent agent of change. In partnership with local churches, businesses, civic organizations, and government agencies, the organization is deeply committed to healing the world in all its broken places, through children's feeding initiatives, community outreach and disaster response. Convoy of Hope currently feeds more than 571,000 children worldwide each day—and has served more than 250 million people in total since Hal, together with his brothers and friends, started the organization in 1994. It's the 35th largest charity on the latest Forbes “100 Largest U.S. Charities” list. So what does all of this have to do with ghostwriting? Well, before launching Convoy of Hope, Hal started out as a journalist and ghostwriter. Early on in his career, on a ghostwriting assignment in Calcutta, he had the opportunity to interview Mother Teresa, who turned the tables on their interview and asked the young journalist what he was doing to repair the world. Hal had no answer, but when he returned to the United States a short while later, he rallied his friends and family and began donating goods and supplies to communities in need. As the organization has grown, Hal has continued to write. He's just out with his latest collaboration, What Really Matters: How to Care for Yourself and Serve a Hurting World, written in collaboration with his daughter Lindsay Donaldson-Kring. Join us for an inspiring conversation on what really matters, as Hal Donaldson reflects on the good works that continue to flow from the first strokes of his pen. When it comes to our personal well-being, success is often more dangerous than failure. As we try to fulfill others' expectations, we deplete our time, energy, and enthusiasm and end up feeling wrung out or burned out, sometimes even flaming out in spectacular ways. Founder and CEO of Convoy of Hope, Hal Donaldson, shares from his book "What Really Matters: How to Care for Yourself and Serve a Hurting World." “God is infinitely powerful; people are not. Your physical, emotional, and spiritual health affect the well-being of those Jesus has called you to serve. In this way, doing your part to care for yourself is not an act of selfishness — it is a necessary component of selflessness.” So writes Hal Donaldson in his new book, What Really Matters: How to Care for Yourself and Serve a Hurting World, cowritten with his daughter, Lindsay Donaldson-Kring and published in June by Baker Books. In this episode of the Influence Podcast, I talk to Donaldson about serving others without hurting yourself. I'm George P. Wood, executive editor of Influence magazine and your host. Hal Donaldson is founder, president, and CEO of Convoy of Hope, a global faith-based nonprofit organization that works with communities to address root causes of poverty and hunger. ————— This episode of the Influence podcast is brought to you by My Healthy Church, distributors of Captivated. Cyndy, thank you agreeing to come back on and minister to those again today who are hurting. I appreciate your time. For those who may not have listened to our prior interviews, can you briefly share with us “Who is Cyndy Bartelli?” And give us a basic introduction about your book, “Heart Healer.” We have been sharing some background and information on several of the people that you have helped along the way. Last time we talked about heart healing as it related to “How to Make Things Right After PTSD.” But today, I believe we are discussing “The Pathway to Peace” and how that relates to Heart Healing as well, correct? Explain this, “Pathway to Peace.” What is it your talking about here? Does this involve counseling, prayer, studying the Word? What is involved in obtaining this kind of “inner peace?” Do you have any stories in your book you can give us an example of what we are talking about today? Cyndi shares the story about a tight-rope walker and a wheelbarrow. I know there are people listening to us right now that may be in the same or very similar situation as we have shared today. And I definitely know there someone listening to us right now that needs heart healing as it relates to this “Peace that passes all understanding.” Can you pray with and for them right now and help to bring “heart healing” to them just like you have for the others we have talked about in prior episodes? But a lot of people that suffer with or suffered with PTSD, may have hurt a lot of those they are close to along the way. Why does every human being have dignity and worth, and why is this so important to emphasize in this moment? Matthew Soerens of World Relief joins us to discuss the many humanitarian crises in the world right now — from Israel, to Ukraine, to other places few are talking about. Right now, 35 million people are refugees, and Matthew shares how people can pray and serve. Through it all, he explores the importance of emphasizing human dignity. (The conversation begins at 8:25.) PLUS, in “Headlines” (1:25) Dr. Keathley and Dr. Quinn discuss actor Matthew Perry's recent passing, specifically a pastoral response to addiction. And in “On My Bookshelf” (34:00) author Jennifer Bleakley tells us about her new book “Finding Grace: The Inspiring True Story of Therapy Dogs Bringing Comfort, Hope and Love to a Hurting World.” Visit our website: https://cfc.sebts.edu/ Support the work of the Center: https://cfc.sebts.edu/about/give/ All opinions and views expressed by guest speakers are solely their own. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Healing Hearts Cyndy Bartelli When someone becomes “born again,” it is natural to wonder, “Am I really forgiven?” The memories of some of the things we did continue to haunt us and it just makes us “wonder.” I know I can't be the only one that has had those thoughts. Amen! Our guest today is Cyndy Bartelli. She was on previously and we discussed her book, “The Heart Healer: God's Response to Personal Prayer in a Hurting World.” This book has helped many people to bring a new level of Hope into their lives. She also published a study guide that goes along with the book. If you missed our prior interview, go back to the archives and look up her name or just go to episode 1336 and get caught up! Amen! Because today, I invited her back on the program so we can talk some more about this great book, instead of just a summary, I thought we could do sort of a “deep dive” into some of things she shared. Amen! Help me welcome back to the program, Cyndy Bartelli! Cyndy, it's so good to have you back on the show today! For those that may have missed our prior episode, can you share with us, in your own words, “Who is Cyndy Bartelli?” You first published this book back in 2017. What inspired you to write this book and what was your intent in publishing it at that time? Since publishing your book, “The Heart Healer,” what kind of feedback have you received on the lives it has touched? I know you are touching people's hearts and lives all of the time. This book has helped you to bring healing to so many people. What makes you continue to “keep on keeping on” in this area of ministry? I know you have some stories from the testimonials you have received. Can you share a few of those stories with us? Leaving out personal identifiable information of course… Share with us about Vertical Hearts, your non-profit… I understand you have a special announcement on sharing more stories about heart healing… what would you like to share? How can someone obtain a copy of your book, “The Heart Healer: God's Response to Personal Prayer in a Hurting World?” Is it on Amazon? If someone wanted to reach out to you with a question or to obtain more information on this, how can they do that? How can someone get in touch with you? I'll put links to all of this in the show notes below. Folks, it is so hard to do things by yourself. We were never meant to “go it alone.” That's one reason why we have the Holy Spirit present in our lives. So we are never alone. We are always connected to God. We have Jesus in our hearts and the Holy Spirit with us. Amen! That takes care of our Spiritual awareness… but sometimes, as I started the broadcast today, we just keep dredging up past memories. Those memories try to hold us back. Cyndy Bartelli has made it her life mission to help YOU break those bonds that are holding you back, with the help of the Lord, of course! You need to check out her non-profit,

The Heart Healer Cyndy Bartelli Sometimes, even though we are born again and forgiven of our past mistakes and sins, memories continue to haunt us. It seems like every time we get a blessing or breakthrough, the devil brings up that, “Yeah, but what about….?” I know I can't be the only one that experiences that. How about you? It may seem like your alone. Unique. It only happens to you. But that is not the case. These challenges are often rooted in our past, trying to rob you of your Faith today. Trying to keep you from accomplishing all that God has planned for you. One of my favorite verses in Jeremiah 29:11, “I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord. Plans to proper you, not harm you. Plans to give to you a hope and a future.” Amen! When we get that type of revelation into our hearts, that is when we can start living and prospering and blessing others like the Lord intends us to do! Amen! But we need to get to that place of healing in our hearts. Amen! Our guest today helps you to do just that! Cyndy Bartelli is a speaker and coach and holds “Relationship Reality Workshops” across the United States to help you bring “healing to your heart.” She is also the author of a great book titled, “The Heart Healer: God's Response to Personal Prayer in a Hurting World,”which has helped to bring a new level of hope in many readers lives. She has also published a supporting study guide to go along with the book. Amen! Help me welcome to the program, all the way from the Great State of Texas (my 2nd home) - Cyndy Bartelli! Cyndy, it is such a blessing to finally get you on the program! Praise God! The first question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Cyndy Bartelli?” Given your background as a human resource director, you focused on team training. How did you transition from team training to helping individuals achieve their dreams and goals? You published “The Heart Healer” in 2017. What inspired you to write this book and get it published at that time? What was the inspiration and purpose you were trying to achieve? In gathering the information to write this book, what aspect of realizing the number of wounded hearts that were out there, needing this information, shocked you the most? What kind of feedback or testimonies have you received on how this book has been a blessing to others? You also created other programs that go along with the book. The study guide titled, “The Heart Healer Study Guide,”as well as coaching programs, video courses – you also have this translated into Spanish. Can you share with us the impact these things have had to those who participate? Tell us about your non-profit, “Vertical Hearts.” What do you do through the non-profit? You are also a speaker.

Hope Ankeny - Sermon by Pastor Scott Rains from Jun 11, 2023
In this episode of We Are Vineyard, Jay talks with Diane Leman about growing up with strong leadership skills in a legalistic religious community where women were to be silent, reconnecting with the Lord as a young adult, and the medical disruption that opened the door for new faith experiences and curiosity. Di shares about her first experience with the Holy Spirit, joining the Vineyard, and what it was like for female leaders in the early years. Finally, Di offers an encouragement about how people might think through the topic of women in leadership. Dianne Leman, M.Ed., left her career in education after encountering the Holy Spirit and experiencing God's miraculous healing from infertility. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Vineyard Leadership Institute, and Vineyard Bible Institute, Dianne entered full-time ministry with her husband, Happy, and together they have pastored The Vineyard Church of Central Illinois, Urbana, IL. while raising their family of four sons and one daughter. Over the past forty years, Dianne has served on the Vineyard USA Executive Team, led the Women in Leadership and Renewal Teams, and traveled widely sharing God's love and healing power. She is the author of four books that reflect her passions: We're Pregnant! How to Receive God's Cure for Infertility, Hello Holy Spirit: God's Gift of Live-in Help, Jesus Heals Today: God's Prescription for a Hurting World, and Wrecked for God: The Surprising Secret to True Transformation. While she continues to mentor many young people, her greatest joy is sharing Jesus' love with her 12 granddaughters and 7 grandsons. Mary's experience is probably much like our own as mothers. Worry over doing things wrong, and being entrusted with so much. But the Lord encourages us that He chose us for these babies, just as He chose Mary for His son."But Mary kept all these things like a secret treasure in her heart.
