The family unit is the bedrock of a healthy society. Nothing will make a more positive change in the world than strengthening families. Husbands and wives loving and caring for each other, intentionally raising children with healthy value, and building each other up. That principal is the very purpose of this podcast. Stronger families lead to more thriving communities. Thriving communities lead to a more stable society. A more stable society leads to a better world. Two military veterans, one an ex-homicide detective and recovering alcoholic, one jack of all trades but master of none, and a couple of hippies kinda winging it on a disordered journey to health and happiness. That is how this week's guests have described themselves to their social media following. There is one additional definition on Justin's Instagram page that puts this all into perspective and paints a picture of how the people who know Justin and Stefanie best view their purpose and passion…it says, “Hope Dealer!” This past weekend, Justin won the 2022 Mid State Mile last man standing ultra-marathon, and Stefanie was there the whole weekend to crew and support him. With Stefanie's help, Justin was able to break the course record by running 128 miles in 40 hours, with over 39,000 feet of elevation gain and loss! I was fortunate to see much of Justin's run in person. It may have been the most remarkable accomplishment I have ever witnessed. Justin and Stefanie not only give each other hope, but also to everyone they seek to inspire. This episode is about their story together, and the future they have been building for themselves. It is enough to give anyone the hope they need. Have you ever looked at someone else and wondered, “How do they do it all?” You know people like this; they're a spouse, parent, run a business (or multiple businesses), host a podcast, coach, speak, and always have a smile on their face while they do that and so much more. I often find myself wondering how they keep it all together and always show up, to whatever the task is at hand, ready to go and give it their best. Megan Reilly is exactly that type of person. She is COO and Co-Owner of an international franchise. She is a Shark Tank Alum. She is the creator and host of the Who Is Your Momma Podcast, where she speaks to the mothers of some of the world's most successful, CEOs, athletes, and entertainers. She works as an expert mentor for Jesse Itzler's elite coaching program. Above all, Megan is a dedicated wife and Mom. She and her husband, Chris, have been married for 14 years and have three daughters under 10. Together, they renovate homes and love to play outside with their kids and their 100-pound dog, Ralph. In this episode, you will learn the mindsets and strategies that Megan uses to build, grow, and maximize her family life and every endeavor she sets out to accomplish. This week marks National Police Week in 2022. It is a time each year that offers honor, remembrance, and peer support, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. The events throughout this week attract thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to our Nation's Capital each year. Our guest this week is in honor of all police officers who stand watch on our behalf. Stephanie Jones is an author, speaker, and coach. She has also been married to a police officer for nineteen years. She and I had a conversation about what we typically don't see, and don't think about, inside the marriages of our officers. She shares a sobering reality that she has lived with every single day for nearly two decades. Below is a short excerpt from a piece she once posted on Facebook: “Every day when my officer leaves, I send him on his way with hugs, kisses, and I love you's. Some days I stand in the window watching him pull out of the driveway, searing the memory in my mind, just in case he doesn't return. That's the reality and biggest fear of every police wife. It's a fear we bury but keep with us until we hear the garage door open and the sound of Velcro ripping off.” God bless our police officers, their spouses, and children. Show highlights: How she got started in law enforcement The mindset of being a police wife What it was like to lose a brother from the Police Academy in the line of duty The difficult decisions of being in a police family The importance of understanding your spouse's daily life The dangers and difficulties of living with negative stereotypes of police officers The compounded traumas of being a police officer Tools to endure through a pressure packed lifestyle Where to find Stephanie: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/giving_gal/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StephanieStengerJones Web site: https://givinggal.com/ Follow Mike Bellini on IG: https://www.instagram.com/mikebellini7/ Ultra Marriage Resources Book: www.theultramarriage.com IG: https://www.instagram.com/ultra_marriage/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011729101170 Youtube: Ultra Marriage https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsoiUBRBK9BsZ8FDxj3kZ_w
What if you left home for what was supposed to be a short trip and soon discovered that you would be away from your spouse, with whom you've been married for about four months, indefinitely? What if, during that time apart, your spouse was going through rigorous treatments for cancer, while you found yourself in the hospital with a heart condition? On top of that, what if you couldn't even talk to each other? How would you find the strength to endure? That is precisely the situation this week's guest, Gavin Hannan, found himself in just as the pandemic was starting. After he left for his trip, his wife's doctors thought it was too dangerous for him to return until the threat of the pandemic had passed. What they thought would be two weeks of isolation turned into a year and a half apart, with each of them going through health issues. What Gavin and his wife faced, how they made it through, and who they are becoming on the other side is a story as inspirational as any you've heard. You will learn how they lean on the principles respect, trust, faith, love, and humor to embrace each day to the fullest, no matter what circumstances a day presents. You will see why, every day, they choose each other. Joy and Pain. The journey through life includes both. Whichever we focus on more often and intentionally feed is what we will experience more. Ultimately, it comes down to a choice. We can focus on the pain and feed negativity, or we can seek the joy and feeding positivity.
