In this first part of a series on discernment, we will look at some basic principles.  We know that God speaks to us through convictions by His Holy Spirit.  So that we can be led by the Holy Spirit and not the flesh.  Those who have the Spirit of God can know the thoughts of God.  But God isn't the only one who tries to lead people.  The Devil is also seeking to lead people, but to cause them to stumble.  We must be aware of the two different forces at work.Passages covered:  John 14:10-12;  1 Corinthians 14:3,  2:10-13;  Mathew 16:21-23;  Ephesians 2:1-3,  6:10-19;  2 Corinthians 10:1-5.

In this episode we discuss the testimony of Brayden, a college student at the University of Albany NY who graduates this coming year.  Brayden grew up with the truth, a model "Christian" young man in the eyes of the fake Christian Church.  But the problem is God looks at the heart now our outward behavior.  Brayden had not yet been freed from the sinful thoughts that originated from his heart of sin that had not yet be spiritually circumsized and put to death through the baptism with Christ.  Brayden confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and had been water baptized.  But until you are truly willing to lose everything AND accept the full truth of God's word to be freed from sin; you are simply living a life of vanity.  Through an impending doom of calamity, Brayden gave up ALL of his life to find Eternal Life!Passages covered:  Jeremiah 18:1-12.

In this part 3 episode we look at the Devil's final temptation of Christ.  In this final temptation the Devil didn't use any twisting of the Word of God, but appealed directly to any worldly desire within Christ, and Christ overcame, taking Devil's thought captive, resisted the Devil and rebuked the Devil.  The question is how is this temptation different than yours.  Well it all depends.  If you have been born again and received a new heart with new thoughts, the old evil thoughts crucified and removed; then it should be easy for you to identify the thoughts of the Devil and to resist them.  However, if you still have the old heart with its desires of the flesh; then you will find it difficult to distinguish between your wicked thoughts and the Devil's.  Worse, you may even find your own worldly desires which still live in you, tempting and luring you to have sinful thoughts; which when conceived and completed brings for your sin and death as discussed in James ch1.  When you have a new heart and the evil thought is the Devil's it will be easy for you to take captive the thought and rebuke it; the Devil will then flee.  But if you don't have the new heart; then most likely your own thought will remain and you will find yourself warring against yourself and the sin which still dwells in you.  Passages covered:  Mathew 4:8-11;  Deuteronomy 6:13,  5:9,  8:19,  11:16,  17:3,  30:17;  James 1:2-6,  13-15;  1 Cor 10:1-13;  2 Cor 10:2-6,  11:1-4.

In this Episode we continue to look at God's word where even though people think they serve God, God will accuse them of denying Christ.   The problem is their confession isn't aligned with the full Truth of God's Word and message.  God points out those who deny Christ, but many people don't understand the accusation against those who are actually denying Christ.  The reason why they don't understand, is because they don't understand the message being communicated in the book of 2 Peter.  It is many of those who are in the church thinking they are Christians that God will accuse of denying Him and blaspheming His Truth.Passages covered:  2 Peter

In this Episode we continue to look at God's word where even though people think they serve God, God will accuse them of denying Christ. We will start in the book of Jude where God discusses a people who God says DENY Christ, yet they are IN THE CHURCH and are UNNOTICED.  The true church is commanded to contend earnestly for the faith as a result.  The problem is SIN.  God gives several examples.  One of those examples is the rebellion of Korah (Numbers ch16), a people who claimed to be servants of God, who did His will, a Holy people; yet God disagreed and destroyed them.  It is the same with His chosen people Isreal, WHY?  Because they couldn't walk in obedience.  These are the people who are accused of denying Christ.Passages covered:  Jude;  Hebrews ch 3, 4,  5:8-9;  1 John 3:11-12
