Dr. Lane Tipton speaks at the Reformed Forum Annual Theology Conference, held at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois on September 27, 2025. Dr. Tipton presents Jesus Christ as the "mountain ascending mediator" and the promised seed of the woman from Genesis 3:15. Dr. Tipton argues that God's plan for redemption is framed by the concept of a holy mountain dwelling, beginning with heaven itself and its earthly counterpart, the Garden of Eden. After Adam's fall and subsequent exile from the holy mountain, God announced the first promise of the gospel—that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head. This salvific ascent was foreshadowed throughout the Old Testament on key mountains (Ararat, Sinai, Moriah, and Zion), all pointing to the final ascent of Christ. Through his sacrifice, Christ successfully ascended to the heavenly mountain, providing covering for sin, overcoming the devil, and bringing his people to see God in perfected worship and everlasting beatitude. This is message 11 in The Names of God Series Deuteronomy 4:22-31 God is compassionate and ready to forgive. He knows our weakness and remembers that we are dust, yet His mercy holds back the judgement we deserve. His goodness is not permission to continue in sin but and invitation to return to Him with all our heart. The Lord who judges sin is the same Lord who delights in showing mercy to those who repent and His forgiveness. This is message 6 in The Names of God Series Exodus 20:1-17 El-Kanna is the God whose holy jealousy flows from perfect love and covenant faithfulness. He demands exclusive worship because He alone is worthy and because divided hearts lead only to ruin. His jealousy is not harsh but protective, guarding His people from the emptiness of idolatry and calling them back to Himself in mercy. The Jealous God is both a consuming fire and a faithful Redeemer who desires the full devotion of His people for their good and His glory. Isaiah 33 poses a sobering question: “Who among us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?” This isn't about escaping the fire of judgment—it's about being refined by the presence of a holy God. In this episode, I unpack defining traits of those who don't just visit the presence of God but learn to live there. These are the believers who can withstand the shaking, endure the fire, and emerge purified, not consumed. From clean hands to steadfast eyes, we'll explore what it truly means to walk in consecration, carry a heavenly perspective, and build a life that can stand in the heat of His glory. If you long to be part of the remnant that isn't impressed by platforms but is anchored in presence and purity—this message is for you.
This week our Lead Pastor, Miles Fidell, closes Hebrews 12 by calling us to live as people consumed by the fire of God—persevering with grateful hearts in reverence and AWE.

The second half of Hebrews 12 starts out by encouraging us to live peaceable, holy lives. It will also challenge us to view our times of “shaking” as a necessary step of becoming righteous. We'll also see some great reminders of how the NT way of meeting with God is far superior to the previous OT ways.

Summer at City A Consuming Fire & An Unshakeable Kingdom Hebrews 12:25-29 25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.” Deut. 4:24 ESV "For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God." Consuming: completely filling one's mind and attention; absorbing. "It's not that we don't want God; it's that we've found a thousand things we want more than God." - Ravenhill God's fire produces missional clarity “yet there is a spiritual force which may well be described as a shaking. It is only when the tree of the nation has a thorough shaking, that at last the prime, ripe fruit will drop down into the great Master's lap. He shakes by Providence, by the movement of the human conscience. He shakes by the impulses of his Holy Spirit; he shakes the human spirit, and as a result persons out of all the nations are brought to himself. Stones that he would have, come at last out of the quarry, and he builds them up into a temple.” -Spurgeon Haggai 2:6-7 NIV “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the Lord Almighty" Chemdah: the desire/desired of all nations 2:7b Revelation 5:9 NIV "And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation." Titus 2:13-14 KJV "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous for good works" God's fire emphasizes eternal stability v28a. Questions: Are you building your life on the unshakable Kingdom? Does the way I'm living my life in this moment make sense in light of eternity with Jesus? God's fire propels us towards intimacy v28b
Are you between two opinions in your spiritual life? Just as Elijah challenged the Israelites on Mount Carmel, we face a crucial decision: Who will we truly serve? How should we respond to the God who died for us that we might live with him? I. Don't refuse him because He is speaking to you in his Son, v25. II. Be grateful because you are receiving an enduring kingdom, vv26-28. III. Be reverent in your worship and service because our God is a consuming fire, vv28-29.
Dr. David Swanson | Acts 2:1-3Fire plays a significant role in Scripture, symbolizing the power of God, the presence of God, the cleansing of God and the judgement of God.
We warmly welcome you to join Pastor Barry Blankenship on this Pentecost Sunday message!
In this podcast, Pastor Justin begins a new series on how we must love what God loves and hate what God hates, but the only way we will is if we're actually consumed by the All-Consuming Fire.Support the show
By Stephen Bouchette - Fire throughout the Bible represents God's presence, power, and judgment. At Pentecost, this fire came as symbol of Holy Spirit, given to empower and transform believers. Let's remember that God is a consuming fire, that He is serious to remove all sin, and let's kindle that fire of His Spirit
The mighty Roman Empire at one time was allied against the small fledgling Christian church. Pastor Ray Bentley gives us a glimpse of history. What happened to the Roman Empire? It came and it is no more. What happened to those little tiny Bible studies meeting in homes 2000 years ago? Today they're about 2.5 billion people. Not because of walls and institutions.

May 4th. Leviticus 10:1-10, 19-20, Deuteronomy 4:24, Hebrews 12:25-29.
This week, we continue the journey beyond Resurrection Sunday, diving deep into the revelation of our co-resurrection with Christ. We explore the powerful truth that the Cross wasn't just where our sins were dealt with — it was where the Kingdom was inaugurated, victory was won, and where we were immersed in Holy Spirit and Fire. Looking at Hebrews 12:29 and Luke 3, we confront a crucial question: Did Jesus come to bring a fire that burns us up or a fire that burns off everything that keeps us from living in the fullness of our new life? Through the stories of Elijah, John the Baptist, and Jesus' own words, we uncover the true purpose of God's consuming fire — not to destroy, but to purify, to cleanse, and to set hearts ablaze for Him. Get ready to see the Cross — and the Fire of God — in a whole new light.
Good Morning, Family! Blessing To You. Let's Honor Our God, Who Is the Consuming Fire. We Are Being Called Into & Ushered Into Another Level Of Holiness In The Body Of Christ! God Bless & Have An Amazing Day!
