In a single verse, the Quran encodes a precise mathematical conversion between the solar and lunar calendars — a calculation that would take human science centuries to confirm.Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18, Verse 25) describes the People of the Cave as remaining "300 years — and add nine." That phrasing is not poetic licence. It is a mathematical statement: 300 solar years equal exactly 309 lunar years, because the lunar calendar falls short of the solar by 11 days every year. This was revealed in 7th-century Arabia, to a people who had no tools to verify it.**THE MATHEMATICS BEHIND THE MIRACLE****The Verse**The Quran, in Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18, Verse 25), describes the People of the Cave:*"And they remained in their cave three hundred years, and add nine."*For centuries, readers wondered why the verse didn't simply say "three hundred and nine years." Why phrase it as 300 — *and add nine?***The Two Calendars**There are two ways to measure a year:- A **solar year** (based on the Earth orbiting the Sun) = approximately 365.25 days- A **lunar year** (based on the cycles of the Moon) = approximately 354.37 daysThe difference between them is about **11 days every year**. Over centuries, that small gap adds up.**The Calculation**- 300 solar years × 365.25 days = **109,575 days**- 109,575 days ÷ 354.37 days (one lunar year) = **309 lunar years**In other words: **300 solar years equal exactly 309 lunar years.**The Quran gave both figures in a single verse — 300 (solar) *and add nine* (to reach 309 lunar) — describing the same span of time in both calendar systems at once.**The Context**This was revealed in 7th-century Arabia, to a people who counted time by the moon and had no means of calculating the precise drift between solar and lunar years. The mathematics to verify this with certainty would not be widely available for over a thousand years.**Conclusion**A strange, exact addition — "and add nine" — turns out to be a precise mathematical conversion between two calendar systems. This is one of the many numerical signs found within the Quran.*This is not the word of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is the word of Allah, who made the sun and the moon.*

In all of Scripture, there are only a handful of times when God explicitly tells us to "remember" something. Each time, it's attached to something vital—communion, Christ's resurrection, where we've fallen. But there's one verse where God commands us to remember a principle that much of the church seems to have forgotten entirely.   In this episode, Bob and Linda explore 2 Corinthians 9:6: "Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop, but the one who plants generously will get a generous crop."       Key Topics Discussed: Why This Verse Matters How God uses the word "remember" throughout Scripture for critical truths The context of 2 Corinthians 8-9 and its focus on generous giving Why this principle of sowing and reaping has been pushed aside by many believers   The Enemy's Strategy How biblical principles get twisted and weaponized The 1980s prosperity gospel backlash and its lasting impact Two ditches to avoid: manipulation on one side, scarcity mindset on the other   Getting Your Heart Right The crucial difference between giving to people versus giving to the Lord How to avoid being manipulated while still embracing biblical generosity Why you can love your church and still have questions   The Multiplication Principle From Genesis to today: God's design for abundance The apple seed illustration that proves God's multiplication DNA How one butterfly's wings can literally change the world Why quiet faithfulness often shapes culture more than loud voices   What Happens When We Forget Generosity becomes optional instead of formative Fear replaces faith We settle for what we can maintain in our own strength Our expectations of God begin to shrink   Quotable Moments: "God doesn't command that we remember something that is trivial." "When you give to the Lord, that's when you can see the harvest. When you are giving to a person, they can't give you a harvest." "It's easy to be a voice... but there are so many people quietly shaping the culture of their nation." "The butterfly can flap its wings here in Tennessee and literally over in Australia there can be a hurricane—that is how God created things."     Challenge: Don't let the enemy's twisting of Scripture cause you to forget what God told you to remember. Sowing and reaping isn't just about farming or fundraising—it's about how God designed His entire creation to multiply. Every smile at the coffee shop, every dollar given in faith, every child raised in love has exponential Kingdom impact.     The question isn't whether God's multiplication principle is real. The question is: are you partnering with it or have you forgotten it entirely?       Watch this episode on our SeedTime Money Podcast YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/ls_6kLhS2rY)!   If you haven't checked out our best-selling book Simple Money, Rich Life (https://seedtime.com/smrl/), we think you'll love it. For centuries, a single line from Paul's letter to the Romans - “not all Israel is Israel” - has been used to rewrite the story of God's faithfulness.  But was Paul really declaring that the Church replaced Israel? Or was he weeping over his people, trusting that God's promises still stand? This episode takes a deep look into Romans 9–11 and Galatians 6, unpacking what Paul meant by “the Israel of God” and how a single mistranslated conjunction has shaped two millennia of confusion.  We'll explore the grief behind Paul's words, the endurance of God's covenants, and the modern drift that has led Christians to read prophecy as poetry and Israel's story as metaphor. As anti-Semitism rises and theology grows foggy, it's time to recover what the Apostle Paul never meant to erase: that Israel's unbelief doesn't cancel God's faithfulness - it magnifies it. Key Takeaways Paul's “anguish and unceasing sorrow” in Romans 9 reveals grief, not rejection. “Not all Israel is Israel” distinguishes the nation from its remnant, not Israel from the Church. God's covenants - Abrahamic, Mosaic, Davidic, and New - remain active and irrevocable. “The Israel of God” (Gal. 6:16) refers to Jewish believers, not the Church replacing Israel. Translation shifts like changing “and” to “even” have fueled replacement theology. The Church's inclusion in God's plan never meant Israel's exclusion. When we forget Israel, we lose the storyline of our own salvation. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Support our mission to teach every verse of the Bible. Read more here: Project23 Our text today is Judges 3:31 After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed 600 of the Philistines with an oxgoad, and he also saved Israel. — Judges 3:31 Can one person really make a difference? Shamgar barely gets a verse. No long backstory. No detailed battle plan. Just a man with an oxgoad—a farmer's tool, not a warrior's weapon. Yet with it, he struck down 600 Philistines and saved Israel. That's it. No fanfare. No epic speeches. Just simple faith, raw courage, and God's power behind an ordinary tool. Sometimes God writes his biggest stories with the smallest brushstrokes. Shamgar's life reminds us: impact isn't about having the best weapon, but about putting what's in your hand into God's hand. Stop waiting for perfect conditions or better tools. God's not asking for what you don't have. He's asking for what you do have. Your oxgoad might be a kind word, a simple prayer, a skill you think is too small to matter. But in God's hands, ordinary becomes extraordinary. Never underestimate the difference one willing man or woman can make when they give God their tool and their trust. ASK THIS: What's the “oxgoad” in my hand that I've overlooked as insignificant? Do I believe God can use my ordinary life for extraordinary impact? Where is God calling me to step up, even if I feel unprepared? How can I trust God today to multiply my small obedience into big impact? DO THIS: Take one small, practical step of obedience today using whatever “oxgoad” God has placed in your hand. PRAY THIS: Lord, take what I have—even if it feels small—and use it for your glory. Make me bold like Shamgar to step into the fight with what you've given me. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Available."

Title: The Supremacy of JesusSpeaker: Rob BerrethScripture: Hebrews 7:1-28Episode Overview:In this sermon based on Hebrews 7:1–28, we dive into one of the most theologically rich and complex passages in the Bible—and come out with one crystal-clear truth: Jesus is enough. Through ancient characters like Melchizedek and the Levitical priesthood, we see that even the most honored religious systems were only prototypes pointing to the real deal—Jesus Christ, our perfect and eternal High Priest.Key Highlights:• Opening Illustration – Sports Legends Fade, Jesus Doesn't:Just like legendary players for the Seattle Sounders eventually leave the field, every priest before Jesus was temporary. But where others retire or are replaced, Jesus remains—forever.• Melchizedek: Mysterious but Meaningful (vv. 1–10):Melchizedek, though a shadowy figure, is presented as greater even than Abraham. Why? Because his priesthood resembles Jesus'—timeless and superior.• The Old Priesthood Was Good, But Not Enough (vv. 11–24):The Levitical priesthood, deeply meaningful to Jewish believers, couldn't perfect anyone. Hebrews insists: what was once essential is now obsolete because Jesus is better.• Jesus: The True and Better Priest (vv. 11–24):Not from the tribe of Levi, but from Judah. Not a priest by human lineage, but by the power of an indestructible life. The law shows our sin, but Jesus offers salvation.• The Gospel in One Verse (v. 25):“He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him.” This isn't halfway help. This is forever salvation. Jesus doesn't drop you halfway across the canyon—He carries you the whole way.• Forever Interceding (vv. 25–28):Jesus isn't just our Savior in the past—He lives now, always making intercession for us. Your salvation is secure because your Priest never dies, never takes a break, never fails. Conclusion:Like Martin Luther, when the devil unrolls your scroll of sins, you can say: “Write over them all—The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from all sin.”Hebrews 7 isn't just about ancient priests—it's about eternal hope. Jesus is the final and forever High Priest. No need to look back. No need to find someone else. Jesus is enough. Always has been. Always will be.Call to Action:This week, take time to reflect on where your spiritual confidence really lies. Is it in your performance, your past, or your routine? Or is it rooted in the once-for-all work of Jesus? Let Hebrews 7 lead you to rest in the better hope through which you can draw near to God. Don't just admire Jesus—trust Him. Trust Him completely. He's the one priest you'll never outgrow.Listen, reflect, and rest in the truth: Jesus, the perfect permanent priest, offers perfect and permanent salvation.Redeemer Church211 Northshore Dr. Bellingham, WA 98226www.redeemernw.org

Ephesians 5:29-33 Sometimes it is helpful to simplify. When we can distill a group or individual's purpose down to one simple statement, it becomes easier to see one's priorities. He can use the statement as a lens by which to view all of the lesser responsibilities. We find such a statement about marriage in today's passage! Don't miss it!
