It's YOUR BOY, Colin the show note-writing rabbit. I'm a rabbit, I listen to the podcast, YOUR favorite podcast, and I write 'lil notes innit. I'm a rabbit, too. Talk about an asset, talk about VALUE! We go through Verzuz. Gucci laughed at Jeezy's dead friend. But the dead friend was sent out on a hit on Jeezy. Should I be talking about this at all? Is it my business? No. I'm a rabbit. Human business isn't rabbit business, but that's what I'm on board at R&B, brought to you by Adobe House. New media. You heard the boys talk about it. The VMA's and the AMA's were all overpowered by Verzuz. It's a attention shift, and we find it interesting. What a show we have for you tonight ladies and gentlemen. It is I, Colin the show note-writing rabbit, and we got you the best darn show we can give to you. Before we get into the juicy deets, we got new merch on http://adobehouse.live/store! If you didn't know, Adobe House is the umbrella to this whole shabang, and it's the best media empire on the face of the planet. Suck one Murdoch! Eat it Perry! Today we talk about the relationship pyramid. What is it? A super analytical theory to choose who you're going to hunker down with relationship-wise. It's kind of weird because the guy that talks about it on Tik Tok, Bill Beteet, has the criteria down to a very specific time allotted to his partner. We thought that was kind of weird. But it does bring up the conversation of havig a deep thought about who you're going out with. Something to chew on. We also get fun with media. We're big media dudes. We love content. We love entertainment. We love winning your time. (P.S. check out our YouTube for full video of the pod https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnZ0sJduz2x51jVX79O024w. P.P.S. check out http://instagram.com/rickerandbon for more fun byte sized clips of the pods and hella memes). We get into the lovely winners and losers of YouTube. Rhett and Link. Shaytards. Shay Carl, who is that Shaytards. Jake and Amir. And Amir's dirty ass Shure Sm7b. 21 Negotiations in a Small Adobe House. She didn’t know how long she slept, but when she woke it was in the middle of the night, and she was thirsty and hungry. There was a partial moon and a cloudless night which was good enough for her to find her way to the pool of water, which was about a half-mile from the house. She scared a mule deer from the watering hole but saw no sign of Whitey. She drank her fill of the water and then just sat there beside the water wondering what her plan was. First, if some Mexicans could find her, she was sure the Feds knew where she was. She wondered if they were just letting her die in the desert instead of coming after her. It had been 48 hours since she ate last, and she was still weak from the heat stroke and the ordeal with the chase as she would recall it years later. She no longer believed that she could walk out of Mexico from where she was. Perhaps it was a foolish idea from the beginning. She wondered if she could double back and steal some clothes from someone’s clothesline near Jennifer’s house. She decided she needed more rest no matter her ultimate plan. She looked at some of the cactus growing in the area and wished she had the Internet to know if any of them were edible. What would I use for a knife? She wandered back to the old adobe house, discouraged, hungry and tired. In the predawn light, she thought she saw Whitey at the edge of the scrubby trees she called “the woods” about a half-mile from the house in the opposite direction of the springs. She went in and back to her bedroom. She settled in the small circle she had cleared in the room. She was sitting in the circle looking for something better than the flat rock she had been using for a pillow when she heard it. It was the whine of an electric powered, ultralight plane/helicopter. She made no effort to run. She stood up, tried to comb her hair and dust off herself off. She felt foolish but unashamed that she was nude. She looked at her legs; she had lost weight. She didn’t feel like a fabulously beautiful woman, instead she felt dirty and small, and above all foolish that she had thought she could outrun the Feds and the States Military. I wonder who is coming for tea this morning? She didn’t have to wait long to find out. Joe walked through the door with a backpack on his shoulder. His first words to her were “are you, okay?" “Tired, dirty and hungry, but okay," she said a little above a whisper, determined not to cry. And then she added, “I’m afraid I will live.” listen for more ... --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/alamo/message

In This Episode: >> Her journey from PhD to becoming a farmer and getting involved in the organic movement >> The challenges of finding land and securing water rights in the Western US >> How Eliot Coleman and Wendall Berry have inspired her >> Her involvement in the Real Organic Project and the importance of integrity and transparency in organic farming About the Guest: Linley Dixon owns a 5-acre mixed vegetable farm in Durango Colorado, marketing through Southwest Farm Fresh (a farmer-owned cooperative), farm to school, and the Durango farmers market). She farms with her husband, brother and 8-year-old daughter. She holds a MS in Plant and Soil Science from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of Florida. In addition, she held a 2-year post-doctorate with the USDA’s Systematic Botany and Mycology Laboratory where she studied fungal plant pathogens from around the world. Her research involved studying the impact of farm biodiversity on plant disease levels, providing perspective on the various inputs required given different production practices. She is the Associate Director of The Real Organic Project, which helps educate and connect farmers and eaters by providing more transparency on organic farming practices. The Real Organic Project is an effort to save the organic family farms that are struggling due to the increasing number of factory farms now being certified organic that are at odds with the original intent of organic farming.

In August of 2010, Peter and Linley Dixon moved to Durango with their daughter Raina to start an organic farm, Adobe House Farm, with the mission of providing year-round, pesticide free fruits and vegetables. With help from friends and family, they built a four-season greenhouse, installed fencing, irrigation, and two hoop houses. They sold produce at the Durango Farmers Market, wholesale, and offered a 13-member CSA. Throughout the 2011-2012 winter they grew greens in the greenhouse and tunnels and sold produce to 3 local restaurants, Durango Natural Food Co-op, and to families who scheduled weekly orders. In 2015, they had expanded to the point that they hired two more employees, and were able to offer a CSA to 110 families in Durango as well as greatly expanding offerings at the Durango Farmers 19 Market and to local restaurants.THE CORNUCOPIA INSTITUTE, through research and investigations on agricultural and food issues, provides needed information to family farmers, consumers and other stakeholders in the good food movement and to the media. They support economic justice for the family-scale farming community 13 partnered with consumers 13 backing ecologically produced local, organic and authentic food.
