A Note from Jacob: 375 podcast episodes! I never expected to record 375 interviews when I first sat down with reality TV and pop culture commentator Brent Wolgamott in November 2019. I never thought that best-selling authors, an Emmy-nominated director, Emmy-winning journalists, podcast hosts, Reality TV icons, a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, a Tony-winning producer, and viral social media sensations would take the time out of their schedules to share their stories with me and my audience. Thank you to all my guests and their respective media teams who trusted my platform; I am genuinely grateful. Most importantly, I want to thank you, the listeners, who checked out my conversations. I appreciate all of you, and I hope that we can continue this journey together for the next 375 episodes. I am beyond thrilled to welcome back my honorary podcasting older brother, actor and comedian Scott Yager, and welcome first-time guest “The Godfather” Mark Long for the 375th episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Scott hosts the Challenge Mania Podcast. He, along with his co-host, three-time The Challenge champion, Derrick Kosinski, breaks down the happenings of the long-running MTV show The Challenge and sits down with cast members to discuss their time on the reality TV competition. Cara Maria Sorbello, CT Tamburello, Frank Sweeney Fox, Johnny Bananas, Jonna Mannion, Paulie Calafiore, Rachel Robinson, Tony Raines, Tula “Big T” Fazakerley, Veronica Portillo, and Wes Bergmann are some of the cast members who sat down with Scott and Derrick for in-depth conversations. He also co-hosts both Disney Mania and Survivor Mania with co-host Lindsay Arber, while giving his takes on the wrestling world on The Heel World. Derrick and Scott also host Challenge Mania Live, a traveling live show where they bring cast members to meet fans and share stories about their time on the show. One of Challenge Mania Live's frequent guests (and occasional Challenge Mania Live co-host) is Reality TV icon Mark Long. Nicknamed “The Godfather,” Mark became a household name 30 years ago when he was among the first group of young adults to travel across the country on Road Rules: USA – The First Adventure. Four years later, he competed on The Challenge's sophomore season, where he won as a part of Team Road Rules. In 2002, Mark returned to The Challenge to co-host the first incarnation of Battle of the Seasons with Eric Nies. He won his second championship on Battle of the Sexes and made it to the finals of both The Gauntlet 2 and The Duel II. Over his career, Mark won 35 daily challenges, two eliminations, and earned $81,184.Mark was instrumental in organizing the viral “We Want OGs” campaign, which paved the way for The Challenge: All-Stars, a show that brought together cast members from the original Real World and Road Rules series. He competed in two seasons, made it to two finals, won four daily challenges, and three eliminations. Mark serves as one of the show's executive producers. On Sunday, July 27, Scott and Mark will host a special edition of Challenge Mania Live at the Brea Improv that will celebrate Road Rules' thirtieth anniversary. Confirmed panelists include Robinson, Portillo, Tina Barta, Darrell Taylor, Shane Landrum, Susie Meister, Katie Cooley, and Kefla Hare.On the 375th episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Scott Yager and Mark Long preview the upcoming celebration, The Challenge: Vets vs. New Threats, and I asked if The Challenge would adapt an America's Got Talent Golden Buzzer twist to the show.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jake-s-take-with-jacob-elyachar--4112003/support.
A Note from Jacob: When I started this podcast in November 2019 with Reality TV commentator Brent Wolgamott as the pilot guest, I did not expect to hit episode number 350! Nor did I expect to converse with famed authors and musicians, Emmy-winning journalists, podcast hosts, Reality TV icons, a Tony-winning producer, and viral social media sensations. I want to thank all my guests who took time out of their schedule to visit the show and their media teams who trusted my platform. Finally, I want to say “Thank You” to all of you who tuned into every episode. I appreciate all of you!It is an honor and privilege to welcome ventriloquist and entertainer Terry Fator to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast for the 350th milestone episode. Terry became a household name when he auditioned for the NBC talent competition America's Got Talent (AGT): Season Two back in 2007, where he showcased his passion for ventriloquism that combined comedy, singing, and celebrity impressions. Thanks to his friends, such as Emma Taylor and Winston, the Impersonating Turtle, fans rallied and crowned him the show's sophomore season winner. Following his AGT success, Terry spent 11 years at his theatre in the Mirage Hotel and Casino, playing in front of millions before moving to the Strat Hotel and Casino for an all-new, multi-media, immersive Vegas production: Terry Fator: One Man, a Hundred Voices, a Thousand Laughs. In addition to Emma and Winston, they are joined by Elvis impersonator Maynard Thompkins, annoying neighbor Duggie Scott Walker, Vikki the Cougar, Hyphen, and a host of famous singers.Terry started his foundation when he was not performing in Vegas or taking his show on the road. The Terry Fator Foundation's (TFF) primary mission is to raise monies to support military service members, veterans, first responders, and their families through various nonprofit channels. The TFF aims to align itself with top-rated nonprofits and corporate partners who carry out these support missions to our men and women who serve this great country and their family members. On our 350th episode, Terry Fator spoke about AGT's legacy on TV and in Las Vegas, previewed his new show at the Strat, and discussed the TFF's impact on helping first responders. Plus, I shared some news with Terry that kickstarts Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar's coverage of AGT's upcoming twentieth-anniversary season. Five years ago, I launched a new venture: The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. The podcast welcomed guests from across the entertainment and lifestyle industries. The guests have ranged from Emmy-winning journalists such as Anne Trujillo, Elex Michaelson, and Michael Mackie and best-selling authors Barbara Jo Jenkins and fit2fat2fit's Drew Manning to reality TV legends such as Beth Stolarczyk, Derrick Kosinski, Ethan Zohn, Jon Brennan, Rachel Reilly, Rob Cesternino. and Syrus Yarbrough and social media influencers including Ana Saia, Brandon Farris, Deni Sunderly, Drew the Disney Dude, Hyphonix, Jay Starrett, Jennifer West, Joss Mooney, and Sloan Hooks. I am incredibly grateful to all the publicists and talent management teams who trusted me with their clients. I am also profoundly thankful for the friendships that I built along the way with my podcasting colleagues. They include AGT Time Pod's Cody, Stephen, and Ryan, Brent Wolgamott (who was the very first guest), Blake Thomas Morgan, Challenge Mania's Scott and Derrick, Drew Angelman, Dylan Deckard, Jacob of Challenge Historian, Josh Skinner, Matt Cohen, Mike Lewis, Paige of Most Likely & TikTok, Tony Berardo, and Wes of Thinking Critical, I am looking forward to continuing to build our friendships. I want to thank my dear friends and family who supported my podcasting journey, especially my mom Gloria, dad Matthew, brother Aaron, sister-in-law Whitney, nephew Nash, niece Emory, and doggy nephew Maxwell. Finally, and most importantly, I want to thank you—the listeners from over 80 countries—for taking time out of your schedule to watch and listen to my content! I am grateful for your continuous support. I am thrilled to welcome my long-time friend—Australia-based creative, entrepreneur, musician, and storyteller James Sismanes—as the guest for the Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast's fifth anniversary episode. James, who previously went by the SIMMY moniker, was among the first guests I welcomed onto my platform. James Sismanes is an award-winning audio and visual storyteller from Melbourne, Australia. A small business owner by day (ImagiWorks Agency, Vision One Technologies) and a full-time creative by night, James is a multi-dimensional make-believer and dreamer of the (almost!) impossible. With over 500+ sales on the acclaimed AudioJungle marketplace, a debut children's book (The Marvellous Mullabaloos Only Wear Blue), and a diverse and unique business/branding portfolio, James is always on the hunt for the next “big idea.” James' screenplays (“Dr. Claus,” “The Ballad of Bam Barlow,” “Bliss Inc.,” and “Tilt”) have consistently ranked on Coverfly‘s “The Red List,” and he has placed as a finalist or semi-finalist in various screenwriting competitions (including the Emerging Screenwriters, Screencraft, So Cal Screenplay, and New York International Screenplay Awards).Behind a MIDI controller, James has collaborated on records with award-winning and globally recognized artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Josh Levi, B2K, Pretty Ricky (Emanuel Deanda), Gabe Lustman, Minus Gravity, K Major, and Giulietta. When he's not writing, producing, designing, sales pitching, and daydreaming like a world-saving superhero, James Sismanes enjoys eating cheeseburgers and chicken parmigiana, conquering Xbox tournaments, watching Friends re-runs, catching Pokémon, and dealing with the heartache of being a Barça and Cleveland sports fan. On this milestone episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, James Sismanes spoke about his debut children's book, The Marvellous Mullabaloos Only Wear Blue, award-winning screenplays, and his latest collaboration with Emnauel Deanda's “Body.”Let's connect on social media! Hello blue waffle enthusiasts! The fellas are joined by everyone's favorite gold star gay, Brent Wolgamott. Brent gives Chris constructive criticism on how to deal with a cuck who shows up in a nightgown. Brent describes being the victim of a hate crime in downtown Cincinnati. The guys discuss local sex ads and what kind of people actually respond to them. Brent tells us about his recent engagement but don't expect monogamy in his future. Brent explains why STD's aren't really a big deal these days. All that and some other stuff that I forgot about because I killed all my brain cells in my twenties. Join in!
Howdy Doody peckerheads! This week the guys are joined by Brent Wolgamott. Brent is an open book and this episode gets fun quick when he shows the guys one of his openings just a minute or so into the show. We tackle stereotypes, play a round of "Top or Bottom", and learn some new terms. Brent finds out that Chris is his straight spirit animal. I can't do this episode justice in the summary so just enjoy the show.
