Five years ago, I launched a new venture: The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. The podcast welcomed guests from across the entertainment and lifestyle industries. The guests have ranged from Emmy-winning journalists such as Anne Trujillo, Elex Michaelson, and Michael Mackie and best-selling authors Barbara Jo Jenkins and fit2fat2fit's Drew Manning to reality TV legends such as Beth Stolarczyk, Derrick Kosinski, Ethan Zohn, Jon Brennan, Rachel Reilly, Rob Cesternino. and Syrus Yarbrough and social media influencers including Ana Saia, Brandon Farris, Deni Sunderly, Drew the Disney Dude, Hyphonix, Jay Starrett, Jennifer West, Joss Mooney, and Sloan Hooks. I am incredibly grateful to all the publicists and talent management teams who trusted me with their clients. I am also profoundly thankful for the friendships that I built along the way with my podcasting colleagues. They include AGT Time Pod's Cody, Stephen, and Ryan, Brent Wolgamott (who was the very first guest), Blake Thomas Morgan, Challenge Mania's Scott and Derrick, Drew Angelman, Dylan Deckard, Jacob of Challenge Historian, Josh Skinner, Matt Cohen, Mike Lewis, Paige of Most Likely & TikTok, Tony Berardo, and Wes of Thinking Critical, I am looking forward to continuing to build our friendships. I want to thank my dear friends and family who supported my podcasting journey, especially my mom Gloria, dad Matthew, brother Aaron, sister-in-law Whitney, nephew Nash, niece Emory, and doggy nephew Maxwell. Finally, and most importantly, I want to thank you—the listeners from over 80 countries—for taking time out of your schedule to watch and listen to my content! I am grateful for your continuous support. I am thrilled to welcome my long-time friend—Australia-based creative, entrepreneur, musician, and storyteller James Sismanes—as the guest for the Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast's fifth anniversary episode. James, who previously went by the SIMMY moniker, was among the first guests I welcomed onto my platform. James Sismanes is an award-winning audio and visual storyteller from Melbourne, Australia. A small business owner by day (ImagiWorks Agency, Vision One Technologies) and a full-time creative by night, James is a multi-dimensional make-believer and dreamer of the (almost!) impossible. With over 500+ sales on the acclaimed AudioJungle marketplace, a debut children's book (The Marvellous Mullabaloos Only Wear Blue), and a diverse and unique business/branding portfolio, James is always on the hunt for the next “big idea.” James' screenplays (“Dr. Claus,” “The Ballad of Bam Barlow,” “Bliss Inc.,” and “Tilt”) have consistently ranked on Coverfly‘s “The Red List,” and he has placed as a finalist or semi-finalist in various screenwriting competitions (including the Emerging Screenwriters, Screencraft, So Cal Screenplay, and New York International Screenplay Awards).Behind a MIDI controller, James has collaborated on records with award-winning and globally recognized artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Josh Levi, B2K, Pretty Ricky (Emanuel Deanda), Gabe Lustman, Minus Gravity, K Major, and Giulietta. When he's not writing, producing, designing, sales pitching, and daydreaming like a world-saving superhero, James Sismanes enjoys eating cheeseburgers and chicken parmigiana, conquering Xbox tournaments, watching Friends re-runs, catching Pokémon, and dealing with the heartache of being a Barça and Cleveland sports fan. On this milestone episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, James Sismanes spoke about his debut children's book, The Marvellous Mullabaloos Only Wear Blue, award-winning screenplays, and his latest collaboration with Emnauel Deanda's “Body.”Let's connect on social media! It is Friday before Memorial Day Weekend on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. You know what that means, Drums Please. But anyway, Raz B, from B2K, broke a window at a Kansas City Hospital trying to escape because he did not feel safe at the hospital he was staying in. He was spotted on the roof of the hospital and a negotiator was brought in to bring him inside the hospital. Halle Bailey said it was important to keep her locks for her role as Ariel in “The Little Mermaid.” She wanted to make sure that little black girls would be able to see themselves in her role. On Mind Body and Business, Maria More spoke about the most common things that people ignore but they should not. If that urine is dark, please address this ASAP. Also actress Kim Fields does not want folks calling her Aunty. No matter if you mean it as a term of endearment or not, just don't do it. Today is a little different. We are doing Battle of The Step Dads. You have Rock T's and Rickey Smiley's step-dads go head to head today. Since it is the holiday weekend, The RSMS crew went over some Do's and Don'ts for the Memorial Day BBQ. AND MUCH MORE FUNNY!!!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It is Monday on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and there is so much we have to get into. Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina is officially running for President in 2024. The black Republican does not think race is a major issue in the United States and wants to change the narrative about Republicans of color. Raz B from the early 2000s boy band B2K, talked about his sexual abuse from Chris Stokes, his cousins and former manager, was not true. Raz B said Chris Stokes was never his pain and that he was the one that really helped him. He also said that he was never the one that ever molested him. After all of these years and lies, The RSMS Crew talked about how this put Chris Stokes in a really bad situation that he never was able to come back from. Rickey and Da Brat said they wouldn't know if they would forgive Raz B. Jay Z and Beyoncé bought a $200M home in California in cash. The 30,000 square foot home is the most expensive home purchased in the state of California. Today, Rickey Smiley had a message for his listeners. He talked about how the children of today are hurting and dying. He says we aren't allowed to say anything to our children today and our kids are now dying. And Marc Moriel is on with The RSMS crew giving us the State of Black America. We are calling on these institutions that have pledged to help Black Americans after George Floyd's passing. We have to check up on these companies AND MUCH MORE!!!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode has been brought to you by the good folks at This Thing Of Minds Podcast. with your hosts, thee Astonishing Adonis G'Baby, the Unbiased Thinker SativaDaDiva, your Favorite Brudda FavG FavDaGawd and Your Internet Cousin, PopItForMilt Join your favorite Space Kadets as we discuss the latest and greatest entertainment news. The episode starts off with Jim Jones saying that Pusha T doesn't deserve to be on the Top 50 Rappers of All Time list . We played some of Pusha's music to see if Jimmy got a point, and he does. Even though Pharrell and the Clipse wore BAPE first, we don't think Pusha has the influence on the fashion world like that. And some people (us) thinks that his dope bars are overrated . Age ain't nothing but a number, right? Wrong! Marques Houston know damn well, he's outta pocket for dating that pre-adult then marrying her within a year. Especially with those Raz B allegations floating around, that boy MH needed to be on his P's & Q's. Throw the whole TUG away, Chris Stokes especially. The onliest thing TUG was good for was B2K, and the smash single "Gots Ta Be" The best podcast of our time, The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory & Mal, still has us fans in a chokehold whenever either side throws shots. In the latest series of 'beef', Rory told Joe to keep his name out his mouth and he'll do the same. Joe Budden coined them as the Bare Minimum Boyz and his response video was scanless. G thinks it was constructive criticism from a fan but the others think the response damn near gone start a fight. Who yall got? The Boy Drake is at it again with the subliminals. New record, "At The Gates", seems like a diss towards Kendrick Lamar. At this point, they need to just got at it without the subliminals. Drake is feeling himself at this point of his career, and we don't blame him for taking his shots. But, is this what Drake want? Pusha T battle is still debatable as far as some fans are concerned but Kendrick is the one that Drake ran from . It'll be interesting to hear the reply from K Dot and if this will reignite the beef. We talked about other things too, we hope y'all enjoy. SLAPPERS 2Tone "Should Go Home" YoungBoyNBA "Fresh Prince Of Utah"

“You gotta remember, I wasn't really shit until about a year-and-a-half ago,” Bartees Strange reminds the crowd at Nashville's Basement East just before performing his song, “Hennessy.” “I was just in my basement playing guitar. And my wife was like, ‘Do the dishes ... Do something other than play guitar.' Now all I do is play guitar again [laughs].”Strange (born Bartees Leon Cox, Jr.), is a sponge and synthesis of everywhere he's been and everything he's seen or heard. Born in England and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, his experience performing with Brooklyn-based post-hardcore outfit Stay Inside and a later move to Washington D.C. have all contributed to his singular cosmic sound. He notes during the Rundown that, as an adolescent, his guitar heroes were Thomas Erak of the Fall of Troy and Omar Rodríguez-López of At the Drive-In and the Mars Volta. But in the next sentence, he confesses his love for Nelly.“I always thought people aren't really honest all the time with what they're listening to,” asserts Strange. “I think a lot of people like a lot of things. I grew up in a pretty country town, and everyone would say they just like country music. But I was like, ‘You like the Nelly record, dog. You like Get Rich or Die Tryin', man, and you also like LeAnn Rimes and Toby Keith songs, and Brad Paisley's guitar playing. But you also jam B2K and pop songs, too.' I've never been afraid or ashamed of what I like, so it all goes into my own music.”What he's been saying through 2020's Live Forever and 2022's Farm to Table has been connecting with fans and critics alike. The magnetism is Strange's smooth synergy. This allows him to touchpoint influences from albums like Nelly's Country Grammar, At the Drive-In's Relationship of Command, the National's Boxer, and Phoebe Bridger's Punisher into one harmonious, original package that has landed him on dozens of year-end lists and earned him an 83/100 rating from Metacritic for both of his full-length releases. [Editor's Note: The Metacritic website uses their proprietary Metascore to distill the opinions of the most respected critics' writing online and in print to a single number.]Finishing his earlier thought to the Nashville crowd, he summarized: “‘Hennessy' is a song I wrote when I was a kid, and growing up I thought there was all these weird stereotypes I had to get over to become who I am … [The hook of the song is meant] to kind of say, I know there's all these expectations of what a black person does … but I just want you to see me for who I am and for what I'm trying to say.”He might not have been “shit” 18 months ago, but he's certainly on his way to becoming the something of the sort in the coming years. We'll be here listening and appreciating.Ahead of Strange's final 2022 tour date supporting Farm to Table, Bartees and his guitar-playing compatriots welcomed PG's Chris Kies onstage at Nashville's Basement East to talk shop. During the interview, the trio explained how their “guitar wars” create a compatibly melodic arms race and structure their cohesive sound. We get introduced to a collection of oddball axes and go through their collective...
