Fourteen-year-old Anthony Lamar Peterson went missing during the summer of 2005 while visiting family in Palatka, Florida.  Days later, his unrecognizable body was found floating in Deep Creek, just miles from where he was last seen. The state of Kansas just came out with their first cold case playing card deck this spring. They're still being distributed in prisons and jails throughout the state. Ernie Ortiz's case is featured in the first deck from Kansas.  The murder of Ernie Ortiz: On September 12, 2019 lifelong Garden City resident and restaurateur 69 year old Ernie Ortiz was shot and killed outside of his restaurant, El Conquistador as he was closing for the night, leaving his loving family and tight knit community in shock. Ernie came from a huge family and although he never married or had children of his own his nieces and nephews say he was like a father figure to them. They all vow to find justice for their uncle.  Robbery is believed to be the motive and Marcus Roady was arrested a few days after but had to be let go due to insufficient evidence.  Dealing Justice interviewed Ernie's family and the Garden City Police Department.  ** TIPS: Anyone with information on Ernie Ortiz murder is asked to call the Garden City Police Department at (620) 276-1300. On November 2nd, 1987, paramedics responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive 6-year-old Lisa.Upon arrival at the Greenwich Village apartment in New York, they found the little girl unconscious and nude on the floor.The apartment was filthy, and another child, a 16-month-old little boy, was found tied to a playpen by a rope around his waist. He was lying in his own filth with spoiled milk available for him to drink. In December of 1991 a young mother and her sweet five year old daughter just returned home from the small town of Marianna's big Christmas parade in Jackson County, Florida. They had a wonderful night and were looking forward to the upcoming holiday.
