Gathering Time, Pomo Art During the Pandemic, is the first exhibit of Contemporary Pomo art to ever show at the Grace Hudson Museum. The multi-media show stems from a collaboration between the museum and Eastern Pomo artist Meyo Marrufo, who serves as guest curator. The exhibition features artwork from numerous Pomo artists created during the dark time of the pandemic. During lockdown, Pomo artists throughout Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma counties continued to create beautiful and hopeful pieces aimed to promote healing and keep their people and culture alive. The exhibit showcases the wide range of skills of these Pomo artists, and celebrates the resilience of Pomo people.
September 5, 2022--Join Corine Pearce and guest Meyo Marrufo, Eastern Pomo Artist, educator, curator and activist for a special 'Tea Time with Auntie'. They discuss the 'Gathering Time', the new Pomo art exhibit that recently opened at the Grace Hudson museum which was curated by Meyo, as well as basket weaving, traditional food and the importance of true inclusion and representation of native culture.

Pentecost was a day of miracles, including the miracle of understanding given to peopel who spoke many different languages but understood the proclamation of the Apostles. It was the opposite of the language confusion that took place at the Tower of Babel and it was the beginning of a great sending of the church to every tribe, nation and tounge. In addition to the Pentecost sermon from Bethany Lutheran, there is a song performed by C2W (Created 2 Worship) at the end of the episode.

Maybe the best vocal group on this show to date. Stuart Markus is our guest. He talks about the band and their new album Old Friends. Short BioGathering Time is an internationally touring folk-rock harmony AAA/Americana trio in the spirit of the '60s and beyond, playing original, classic 20th-century, and trad tunes. Like a co-ed CSN, GT is known for astute songwriting, spirited and accomplished musicianship -- and a stellar vocal blend. Stuart Markus, Hillary Foxsong and Gerry McKeveny evince deep roots in ‘60s folk-rock, with a healthy dash of traditional folk in the mix. Their stage chemistry makes clear that they take the music (if not themselves) very seriously, yet their infectious energy wins over even fans who never considered themselves folkies.http://bettereachday.me/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/download.jpg () Gathering Time swept the international folk radio chart Folk DJ-List in March 2016, as their original CD Keepsake took the #1 album and #1 song slots which, with five other songs in the top 25, landed them as the #1 artist as well. This followed on the heels of When One Door Closes (#3 album, January 2014) and Red Apples and Gold (#5 album, September 2012). Since then they've followed up with three top-5 singles: "Tanglewood Tree" (Dave Carter), #3 in March 2017, and a joint 2-song release with Mara Levine, "By My Silence" (Bukstel/Annis) and "Too Far to Turn Back Now" (Markus), #1 and #4 in September 2017. To date, Gathering Time has had a record five juried showcases at NERFA (Tricentrics in 2009 and ’10, a Formal in 2011, a mini-NERFA showcase in 2013 and a Quad in 2015); they were one of the three Emerging Artists at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2012 voted “Most Wanted” to return in 2013. Whether a tribute show of ‘60s classics or a concert of (mostly) originals, a night with Gathering Time will make evident why they were voted one of “Long Island’s Best” by the Long Island Press. Total Duration 20:25 Download episode 104 A Disposition of Gratitude One of my favorite holidays in the United States is Thanksgiving. Many other countries have a similar sort of day, but whether or not your country celebrates the holiday is not the main point here today. The bigger deal is the idea. Being thankful. Having a disposition of gratitude. That's what we're talking about in today's cast. Are You a Thankful Project Manager? In some of our leadership workshops we'll ask a team to answer this question: "Who is the best among the team at giving out honest and sincere appreciation?" Team members usually find it rather easy to answer this question. Would your name be the one that gets the most hits? In this episode we talk about some research behind expressing appreciation. You'll find it's not just your team that benefits. Join our Facebook Page I invite you to stop by our podcast Facebook page! "Like" it and the join the discussion. Thank you for joining me for this episode of The People and Projects Podcast! Have a great Thanksgiving Day (whether you're in the US or not)!
