Sporting Kansas City laid a beatdown on the Montreal Impact over the weekend. Seven goals... SEVEN goals! A Nemeth hat trick, an amazing performance from Gerso and the entire team made for a really fun afternoon. The crew name their favorite goal of the day. A littke chat about the first sub off the bench was a 16 year old who then went and scored. As much fun as kicking Montreal's rear back to Canada was, the boys have to turn attention to CCL and a huge match in Monterrey. Cody, Robert and Thad talk aout what the team needs to accomplish in Mexico to have a chance back in Kansas City. I's not all good news, Jaylin Lindsey is out for a while and we try to decide what SKC can do if Zusi needs a rest. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The crew was finally back at it again on Wednesday night after a couple weeks off. Cody, Aly, & Bob broke in the studio and looked ahead to the final five matches of the season. Is first place within their grasp? What is the best lineup to get them there? So much to discuss! Three at home. Two away. Every single point will make waves in the Western Conference playoff race and each remaining opponent is battling for their spot. This is going to be fun. The show covers each match and gives you an idea of what it will take from SKC to get that playoff game at Children’s Mercy Park. Taking a look at the lineup, Bob wonders, “Is Krisztian Nemeth a CF or isn’t he?” He’s played winger for Vermes but was brought in to fill a void at striker. The versatility on this roster brings up a fun question for Sporting fans. What is your preferred LW/CF/RW combination? Forget about who is injured and what you think Peter Vermes will do. Let us know in the comments what front-three you’d select. There is also a discussion about Daniel Salloi. He has seen so much of the bench lately it is starting to look like he is in the dog house. After last week’s performance from Gerso, Vermes’ selection will tell us a lot. How are the injuries of Rubio and Shelton you ask? Well, we don’t know that. Not when we recorded, at least. But check our Twitter for that answer on Thursday! During ExtraTime, you’ll learn how Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs is taking all the attention away from soccer in Kansas City. This week on Shades of Blue, we drop the negativity - and Thad. So Cody, Aly and Bob joined forces for your weekly SKC talk. We covered Daniel Salloi and the season he is having, recapped a forgettable Toronto FC game, plus we have injury updates as we look forward to this weekend’s match against the New York Red Bulls. Bob just wrote an article on Kansas City’s little brother, Daniel Salloi. He shares what he learned in his time with Salloi and we discuss what is next for the Hungarian. With Khiry Shelton out for a month, will he play more CF? Diego Rubio is sure to see more time, but will he actually step up? Kharlton Belmar looked solid, what about him? And why is Gerso so frustrating? So many questions, so little answers. But hey, we’ll talk about them for you. Bradley Wright-Phillips and NYRB await Sporting Kansas City in Jersey this weekend. We looked at some key match-ups and all the roster questions. After seeing a lot of pessimism online among SKC faithful, there is also a lengthy discussion about Peter Vermes and his search for a striker. Learn more about your ad choices. It's only Cody and Thad in the studio for this episode but Bob does join the crew with audio he got from training earlier in the week. Bob talked to Tim Melia about Emiliano Amor in case he has to start again and Peter Vermes about what to expect from New England. Thad discusses what he saw in training this week and how that might affect the lineup. The health of Ike Opara, Felipe Gutierrez and Gerso are covered and their chances of playing.
