"My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear... O Lord, all my longing is before you" (Psalm 38:4, 9). Psalm 38 is one of the Bible's great psalms of lament, where David gives us an accurate picture of how we should view and respond to sin in our lives. Our sin against God has far greater effects than we could even imagine. We get a glimpse of how sin makes us feel, what it does to our relationships, and how it is we can find relief from it. Join us for this sermon as we learn how to bring our burdens to the Lord and find grace in the One who is our salvation.

New York State formed the Riley Commission in 1981 to determine the cause of sickness in a number of cases involving gold jewelry. It discovered that someone had taken gold brachytherapy seeds contaminated with radion-222 and smelted them down to make jewelry. Individual wearing the jewelry frequently developed skin cancer or other diseases when wearing the jewelry. This was publicly revealed and investigated. The Commission kept some of its other findings secret, namely that other gold jewelry found during the investigation consistently led to psychotic episodes and mental breakdowns. The last member of the Commission, Albert Bradford, died under unusual circumstances. His grandson, Stephen Bradford, recently found a diary Albert kept during the Commission. Stephen has made inquiries related to the contents of the diary. These inquiries were entered into computers and flagged by Delta Green's monitoring system for containing multiple flagged keywords and terms. A cell is activated to acquire the diary and assess its contents. Thad as Leandra Kober, physician Tom as Devin McCaroll, FBI agent Jason A as Ramsey Much, soldier

Most of our lives are filled with ordinary, mundane moments. We move through the same routines, responsibilities, conversations, and tasks that can often feel disconnected from anything “spiritual.” But does God care about those parts of life? Does following Jesus actually shape the everyday and seemingly boring moments? This week in Deuteronomy, we will walk through a section of laws that may initially seem random, yet together they reveal how God cares about how His people live in every sphere of life. God doesn't just care about how His people act in spiritual moments but also in the ordinary rhythms of everyday life, calling His people to reflect His character in everything they do.

In this raw and unflinching episode of the Prolonged Field Care Podcast, Dennis sits down with Thad Snyder (physician, former medic, and brigade surgeon) to tackle one of the most uncomfortable topics in combat medicine: what happens when resources run out, evacuation timelines collapse, and “doing everything” is no longer possible.Drawing from a 72-page crisis standards of care memo (originally written for flu and updated for COVID), Thad explains the shift from standard → contingency → crisis care, the ethical duty to plan for no-win scenarios, and why medics, teams, and leaders must have real conversations about capabilities, limitations, and what “living” actually means after catastrophic injury. They explore palliative/comfort care in austere environments, the emotional weight of those decisions, and practical ways to share the burden so the medic isn't left carrying it alone.Essential listening for medics, operators, team leaders, and anyone preparing for large-scale combat or prolonged operations where the next casualty might not get a bird out for days or weeks.Key TakeawaysThere is a duty to plan for crisis standards of care before you're in the middle of it.Leaders and teams must understand the real capabilities and limitations of their medics—not the 437-task training list.Pre-mission conversations about quality of life, advanced directives, and unacceptable outcomes give medics a moral framework when they have to make the hardest calls.Palliative/comfort care is already happening in modern conflicts (Ukraine, etc.) even if no one wants to talk about it.The emotional and moral burden of end-of-life decisions cannot fall solely on the medic—teams and leaders must share ownership.Staying busy to “do something” can sometimes cause more harm than shifting to dignity-focused comfort care.Chapters00:00 – Intro & Pulling the Crisis Standards Memo from the Closet00:56 – Standard, Contingency, and Crisis Care: What Changes When Resources Vanish02:51 – The Duty to Plan: Preparing for No-Win Scenarios04:55 – Why Commanders Need Brutally Honest Briefs on Medic Capabilities06:20 – Surgical Team Limitations, Non-Survivable Injuries, and Realistic Expectations08:40 – Advanced Directives, Quality of Life, and “Living vs. Being Alive”11:36 – Palliative Care in Large-Scale Combat (Ukraine, Future Conflicts)13:15 – How (and When) to Have These Conversations with Your Team14:38 – The Emotional Reality: Holding Someone's Hand While They Die Is Harder Than Any Procedure20:33 – Real Hospital Examples of Hard End-of-Life Discussions25:58 – What Outcomes Actually Matter to Warriors? They explain the differences between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans, as well as how Medigap policies and prescription drug coverage fit into the overall picture. The discussion also highlights why many individuals overpay for Medicare. In many cases, people continue using the same plan year after year without reviewing costs or comparing alternatives. Travel coverage is another important consideration. Some Medicare Advantage plans may include coverage for healthcare outside the United States, while Original Medicare typically does not. The episode also explains why comparing plans regularly matters. Even when benefits remain similar, pricing can vary significantly between providers. Ultimately, Medicare planning requires balancing costs, flexibility, and healthcare needs. Understanding your options can help you make more informed decisions, avoid unnecessary expenses, and feel more confident about your healthcare coverage throughout retirement as healthcare needs and costs continue changing over time.

MEDICARE IRMAA EXPLAINED: HOW INCOME AFFECTS PREMIUMS WATCH ON YOUTUBE Thad Ismart, CFP®, ChFEBC, CEPS Senior Financial Planner, BWFA Tessa Hall Media and Communications Specialist About This Episode Tessa speaks with BWFA's Thad about how income can affect Medicare premiums and what individuals should understand about IRMAA adjustments. They explain why Medicare reviews prior tax returns, how retirement or major income changes can impact premiums, and why some individuals pay more than others. The conversation also covers Medicare premium appeals, capital gains considerations, and planning opportunities that may help reduce healthcare costs in retirement. To better understand how Medicare planning fits into your broader retirement strategy, visit our Financial Planning services page. Read Full Description Many individuals are surprised to learn that income can increase Medicare premiums. In this episode of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise, Tessa speaks with BWFA's Thad about IRMAA, which stands for Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount, and how Medicare determines premium costs based on income. The discussion explains why Medicare reviews tax returns from two years prior and how retirement, property sales, or investment gains can affect what you pay. While some premium increases are temporary, others may require additional planning. The episode also highlights Medicare premium appeals. Individuals who retire or experience a significant drop in income may qualify for lower premiums, even if Medicare initially calculates costs using older tax returns. Capital gains planning is another important topic. Selling property or investments can increase Medicare premiums if income rises above certain thresholds. Ultimately, Medicare planning involves more than healthcare coverage alone. Understanding how income impacts premiums can help individuals make more informed retirement and tax planning decisions.

SOCIAL SECURITY TAXES AND DIVORCE: KEY DETAILS TO CONSIDER FROM BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON FINANCIAL ADVISORS WATCH ON YOUTUBE Thad Ismart, CFP®, ChFEBC, CEPS Senior Financial Planner, BWFA Tessa Hall Media and Communications Specialist About This Episode Tessa speaks with BWFA's Thad about Social Security planning and how divorce, survivor benefits, and taxes can impact your retirement income. They explain how benefits work for divorced individuals, including eligibility requirements and timing considerations. The conversation also explores how survivor benefits differ from spousal benefits and what individuals should consider when deciding when to start benefits. In addition, they explain how Social Security is taxed and show why a full view of your financial picture matters. To better understand how Social Security planning fits into your broader retirement strategy, visit our Financial Planning page. Read Full Description Social Security planning involves more than deciding when to start benefits. It also requires understanding how divorce and taxes impact your retirement income. In this episode of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise, Tessa speaks with BWFA's Thad about Social Security planning and how life events affect your benefits. Many individuals assume that divorce eliminates eligibility. However, that is not always the case. Individuals who were married for at least ten years may still qualify for spousal benefits based on an ex-spouse's earnings record. Timing also plays an important role. The age at which you start benefits can directly affect how much you receive. The discussion also explains how survivor benefits work. These benefits follow different rules and can provide additional flexibility. Understanding these differences helps individuals make more informed decisions. Taxes are another key part of Social Security planning. Many people do not expect to pay taxes on their benefits. However, the IRS can tax up to eighty-five percent of your Social Security income. Your total income determines how much tax you pay. This includes income from retirement accounts, investments, and other sources. Because of this, it is important to consider how Social Security fits alongside other income sources. A coordinated approach can help manage taxes and support long-term financial goals. Ultimately, Social Security planning requires a full view of your financial situation. By understanding how benefits work and how taxes apply, you can make more informed decisions that align with your overall retirement plan.

Who leads the leaders? In a world where authority is often questioned, abused, or built on personality, God gives a very different vision. He shows us what it looks like for leaders to live under His authority, not above it. True leadership among God's people is not about control or status, but about humble submission to Him. And this shapes more than just leaders; it shapes all of us. It influences how we live, worship, and discern what voices we follow. Ultimately, it points us to the One who leads perfectly, who never misuses authority, never speaks falsely, and is always worthy of our trust.

At first, police in Baraboo, Wisconsin, thought the 9-1-1 call was a prank. 13-year-old Thad Phillips claimed he had been kidnapped, tortured, and left for dead with shattered legs. This is the story of Joseph Clark, the Baraboo, they realized it wasn't a joke at all: It was the most devious crime they had seen in their entire careers. Thad's feet were twisted backwards, his thighs swollen to the size of basketballs, and his body just hours from death. But, in spite of the pain, Thad told them everything: That his attacker was just 17. That he loved the sound of breaking bones. And, most importantly, that he wasn't his attackers' only victim.  He was just the only one who survived. This is the story of Joseph Clark, the Baraboo Bone Breaker. - Sources:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eTYeCoYyxm58DXXdoFbHQyWHlWbcH9iKGIefFcQToW4/edit?tab=t.y2yayotxnlcb Listen to our new show, "THE CONSPIRACY FILES"!: -Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5IY9nWD2MYDzlSYP48nRPl -Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-conspiracy-files/id1752719844 -Amazon/Audible - https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/ab1ade99-740c-46ae-8028-b2cf41eabf58/the-conspiracy-files -Pandora - https://www.pandora.com/podcast/the-conspiracy-files/PC:1001089101 -iHeart - https://iheart.com/podcast/186907423/ -PocketCast - https://pca.st/dpdyrcca -CastBox - https://castbox.fm/channel/id6193084?country=us - Stay Connected: Join the Murder in America fam in our free Facebook Community for a behind-the-scenes look, more insights and current events in the true crime world: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4365229996855701 If you want even more Murder in America bonus content, including ad-free episodes, come join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/murderinamerica Instagram: http://instagram.com/murderinamerica/ Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/people/Murder-in-America-Podcast/100086268848682/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/MurderInAmerica TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@theparanormalfiles and https://www.tiktok.com/@courtneybrowen Feeling spooky?
