Ângela chegou às casas de acolhimento com 5 anos. Aos 13 anos, veio do Porto para Lisboa, para um novo acolhimento residencial, onde ficaria até aos 20 anos. Viveu 15 anos em casas, mas nem por isso em família. Com pessoas que entraram e saíram. Adultos que a acompanhavam como profissão. Ainda viveu numa casa de autonomia até aos 22 anos. No total, 17 anos. O percurso posterior da Ângela não terá sido o mais habitual em quem começou a vida nas piores condições. Acabou o ensino secundário, foi para a faculdade, fez o mestrado e está, neste momento, a fazer o estágio da Ordem dos Psicólogos. Não só, porque aos 25 anos deixou de ter direito ao apoio do Estado para quem, estando nas suas condições, continua a estudar. Sem qualquer rede familiar de apoio, trabalha na Zara e, nas horas extra, ainda faz algum trabalho de modelo. A vida da Ângela daria sempre para uma excelente conversa. O facto da sua tese de mestrado ter sido sobre a experiência do acolhimento residencial de outros jovens ainda a pode tornar mais rica. Porque olha de dentro e de fora para uma realidade que, apesar de todas as dificuldades, mudou nas últimas décadas. Quando fiz o meu primeiro trabalho sobre crianças institucionalizadas, no início dos anos 90, o cenário era ainda mais agreste. Este é um episódio especial, integrado na celebração do Dia Internacional da Criança. A Ângela já não é criança.
