Oh Fulham have done it! They've only gone and done it again, come from behind to keep the Bees at bay. Those Jimenez and Cairney headers and a 30 yard screamer from Harry Wilson will write themselves into the annals of Fulham folklore for generations to come. George is joined by Drew, Piers and Jack Kelly to revel in the glory that comes after keeping West London black and white. In part one, they discuss the importance of this derby win for ending the season with not such a sick feeling. They also look at the effectiveness of the substitutions made by Marco Silva, possibly putting such criticisms to bed, and give credit to a star showing from Josh King. In part two, they answer some of your listener questions. Fulham are heading west at the weekend following a bleak result against David Moyes' Everton. The season has ended abruptly with bitter disappointment but can one last London derby of 24/25 keep some light shining? Sammy and Jack look back on Fulham's season and reflect on why the side failed to clinch eighth spot. They consider whether there has been some bad luck but also, point out some worrying trends that have become clear under Marco Silva. They respond to a certain chairman's comments regarding some c-words and preview the upcoming trip down the road to Brentford. In part two, they answer some of your listener questions. The European dream is over! But the question is was it because we ran out of ideas, steam or luck? Sam, Kish and Wiggo weigh it all up as they discuss defeat to Everton, Marco Silva and his future, and whether we can salvage our own season by at least ruining Brentford's.
Dan Rolinson and John Townley preview Aston Villa's penultimate home game of the season as Marco Silva's Fulham head to B6. Villa have to win.
Fulham demonstrates yet again that this Silva side is anything but predictable. A dire, shot-starved first-half was turned around by dynamic substitutions and a stoppage time header from Ryan Sess. ESR makes his return to the scoresheet with a deflected shot that tucked its way nicely behind Ramsdale.Elizabeth Barnard takes the reins for a joyous pod line-up of Dan Cooke, Yasmin Mills and Adam Farquharson as they look back on a sunny day on the south coast. They review the successes and failures of a surprising attacking formation from Marco Silva, comment on the hopes of heightened confidence in ESR and sing Sess' praises yet again. Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva are having contrasting fortunes recently, but both are still looking at the possibility of European qualification for their respective sides, and the upcoming match in front of the cameras between the Cherries and the Cottagers *feels* like it could be pivotal. At the same time, both managers have been inexorably linked with the Tottenham Hotspur top job, and with Daniel Levy's patience wearing thin with current Spurs gaffer Ange Postecoglu, the two head coaches that lock horns on Monday night will undoubtedly have more scrutiny cast upon them from the powers that be in North London. Sam and Tom are the Queens Park to discuss our opponents, provide the latest injury news, and predict BOTH sides. Visit the QP at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. Right, that is a lesson learned! As Fulham fans, we cannot easily allow ourselves to dream. Two quick, successive goals from Crystal Palace in the first half saw Fulham's Wembley dreams collapse all too suddenly at the Cottage. The team cannot be faulted for passion and desire in the first 30 minutes, every second ball was won but Eze, Sarr and Nketiah goals were the ultimate punishment for not taking advantage of possession. Sammy is joined by Dan, Elizabeth and Fred Cooper as they wallow in the sorrows of the day before. They vent their frustration towards Adam Wharton remaining on the pitch, rogue substitutions and a perfect opportunity missed. Is this defeat terminal for Marco Silva or is it not all doom and gloom? It's the denial of an opportunity but can we hold our heads high after Fulham's short FA Cup run? Hopefully these chances will come round again. --SHOW-LINKS:If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. Sammy James is joined by Elizabeth Barnard, both Molineux attendees, as they digest a bounce-back victory against Wolves. Tuesday night brought five changes to the starting line-up from Marco Silva, surprising and unnerving many Fulham fans. This gamble paid off after two goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Rodrigo Muniz. There were tears in many's eyes as Sess opened the scoring within the first minute, rolling back the years to his first stint at the club. Fulham recovered from Wolves' equaliser, stinging the home side with another early goal in the second-half from a lovely Muniz fish and chip finish. Sammy and Elizabeth discuss Marco's tactical changes and how the result provided the perfect reaction to an uncomfortable loss to Crystal Palace at the weekend. They debate whether fans were too quick to judge a poor weekend performance with the other evening's results suggesting that Fulham remain in the mix for European contention. In part two, they look forward to a looming Manchester United fixture in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Can Fulham avoid another painful 1-0 defeat and put emotional memories of previous FA Cup visits to Old Trafford aside to overcome Amorim's poor team. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Fulham fan Lewis James and Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd to discuss the latest at their clubs and some very important FPL assets ahead of Saturday's meeting at Craven Cottage. And by assets that doesn't just mean the players as Eagles boss Oliver Glasner is likely to be popular for Assistant Manager bonus point hunters and for those yet to deploy the Chip again he'll no doubt attract interest around GW32 when Palace double. But he's not been the best performing manager over the last couple of weeks as that honour goes to Saturday's opponent Marco Silva, as Fulham produced outstanding victories against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest that truly has them in contention for European qualification. Plus, those key FPL assets covered including Antonee Robinson, Kenny Tete's longer-term threat to Timothy Castagne; forwards Raul Jimenez and Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Dean Henderson, Ebe Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Daniel Munoz might not be the only Palace wing-back of interest in the weeks to come. Pol Ballus tries to give Pep and his players cause for optimism ahead of the trip to the Bernabeu. Arsenal stay in touch with Liverpool after makeshift Mikel Merino comes good up front at Leicester. But Chelsea are embarrassed 3-0 at Brighton. How much will they miss Nicolas Jackson? Plus the fabulous Fulham, Man United lose again and the bleak 3 months that awaits West Ham. Forest were second best at Craven Cottage as Marco Silva and his team delivered a lesson in tactics and performance, and in truth, the home team could have won by more goals. Emile Smith Rowe's first half header was cancelled out by a goal out of almost nowhere by Chris Wood, but despite a change in formation and tactics, the Reds had no answer for Calvin Bassey's second half effort. Rich Ferraro is joined by George Edwards to discuss the game, the formation and whether Nuno might have got things wrong on this occasion. George also has some high praise for Matz Sels, who kept the scoreline respectable. Fulham won on the road, against a bottom half side, whilst keeping a clean sheet. That's as much as any of us could have asked for at the weekend, even if it did come against an awful Leicester City. We take a last look back at that game, digging into some of the individual performances and the balance of the midfield, before throwing forward to our next fixture. And what a fixture it is - even if it's at the slightly strange kickoff time of 7pm on a Sunday night - against Manchester United at Craven Cottage. United come into this one after a divisive week, with hardline quotes from the manager, reports of televisions being smashed at Old Trafford, and little resolution in the transfer market for the club's woes, so it presents itself as an opportunity for Fulham, even if we have struggled against opposition lower than us in the table. We discuss the selection dilemmas and analyse the emotional turmoil in our opponents, before finishing with a couple of emails regarding the No 10 position and the battle between Andreas Pereira and Emile Smith Rowe, as well as how Fulham's wide players dovetail with their respective full backs in this Marco Silva system. -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. Two second-half goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traore sealed Fulham's three points against Leicester who have had seven losses out of eight, a pretty dismal showing. A toxic atmosphere at the King Power suggested that Van Nistelrooy's lifetime with the Foxes might be short. Leicester's poor performance does not take away from the comfortable, stylish display from Marco Silva's Fulham side. Sander Berge returned to the starting line-up as George, with Avais, George Rossiter and Yasmin, reflect on what was a stellar performance from him in the midfield. A calm and assured presence consistently broke up any essence of Leicester threat and helped Fulham fans' shoulders relax a little more. We react to ESR's redeeming diving header that put Fulham in front just after half-time which will hopefully boost his confidence going forward to an exciting Manchester United fixture. Rossiter and Avais tell the tales of what was an eventful away day, including a Network Rail heist and a masterclass in drumming. We answer some of your listener questions in part two, having some theoretical fun with our striker position.
Hear from Ruud van Nistelrooy & Marco Silva ahead of MD22 in the Premier League.
What a fantastic night of football for everyone apart from the people trying to put out a compact, results heavy, ten minute football podcast by 10.30pm. Liverpool (and Leicester fans) were given a real scare by Nottingham Forest, but they worked their socks off to come back and save a point. Chelsea saved a point at home to Bournemouth, Man City lost two at Brentford and Graham Potter's West Ham won 3-2 with four shots and I don't think Marco Silva will ever speak to him again. Plus we've got all the other big scores from around Europe, so dig in and have a listen. Presenter: Iain Macintosh With: James Pearce, Sam Lee, Liam Twomey, Roshane Thomas and Seb Stafford Bloor. Well, it's nice to be comfortable - and Fulham were for the vast majority of Thursday night, where Watford were brushed aside in the FA Cup with relative ease, even with a much changed squad from Marco Silva. We examine the performance, as well as the weirdly subdued atmosphere at the Cottage during this game; and revel in our Magic Mexican's comfort from the spot and a some homegrown joy to boot. Then we move onwards to preview our game against West Ham on Tuesday night in Stratford, facing opposition who will be under new manager Graham Potter for just the second time. There's a little examination of Marco's excellent record against the former Brighton & Chelsea manager, as well as some thoughts on how Fulham should best set up at the London Stadium and who should keep their place from the Watford game. -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. Sky Sports' Lynsey Hooper and Ron Walker are in for Joe and Jules on this episode of 'One on One'. First up, Lynsey chats to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta about his 20 years in British football - from Rangers, to Everton and now the Gunners. Arteta looks ahead to Arsenal's busy Christmas fixture period and explains what he can learn from other sports. We also hear from Alex Iwobi, the former Arsenal and Everton midfielder, who is playing some of the best football of his career at Fulham. Iwobi discusses the influence of his uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha, playing under managers Arsene Wenger and Marco Silva, and his growing music career. What is it about Brighton in the Premier League? Good or bad, rain or shine, the Seagulls just can't seem to conjure a win against Fulham - with Thursday's 3-1 victory the latest in a run of nine undefeated in the top flight against Micky Adams' other side. We're not complaining anyway. The newly named 'Friday Club' of Sammy and Jack take a look back at the game and how it panned out, as well as diving into some impressive individual performances and some interesting comments from Marco Silva in the presser afterwards. The games keep coming thick and fast at the moment, and Sunday sees Arsenal visit the Cottage. Mikel Arteta's side are in sparkling form at the moment, but last year we dealt a wintery wallop to their title ambitions - could history repeat itself at the weekend? -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. Fulham's excellent form came crashing to a halt at the weekend, with Wolves running out deserved winners at the Cottage. We take a final look back at Saturday's slump, before turning our attentions to this weekend's game against Spurs in North London. Our opponents had a big win last week, beating Champions Manchester City 4-0 on their own patch, which we all agree is exactly what we want to happen, because of two terms in the shared footballing lexicon with similar vibes - 'Spursy' and 'Fulhamish.' There's a breakdown of how we think Marco Silva's side should set up to try and best our hosts, who have been brilliant and exasperating in equal measure this season, and take a look too at the 'Away Shirt Curse' that has been haunting Fulham for over a full season now. -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. Another match week, another London Derby, as we look ahead to Saturday's visit to Selhurst Park where Fulham will come up against a slightly faltering Crystal Palace side - something we wouldn't have expected after their showing at the Cottage late last season. Before that though, we've unsurprisingly got a few more things to say about Monday's dramatic derby day win over Brentford, where Harry Wilson came up with his own late, late show to give Fulham a well-deserved three points. We question Thomas Frank's very bizarre tactics, as well as picking out some of the quirks of what was a strange, but still positive, performance from Marco Silva's men. And to wrap things up there's a few emails to get through, before we're joined by the Walking Almanac of Fulham, Harry Healy, who has been going viral on social media. We put Harry's incredible match day knowledge to the test. -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. We unpack Fulham's 1-1 draw against Everton—a match that looked won until the very last moments. A 94th-minute equaliser from Beto that left the travelling FFC feeling deflated. We dissect the factors that led to that gut-wrenching finish including Marco Silva's substitutions and whether hindered Fulham's control over the game. We'll also discuss Fulham's lack of clinical edge in front of goal, a recurring theme that cost them precious points once again. We also highlight the impressive display from Fulham's midfield, whose strong performance kept the team competitive throughout. We'll also talk about Emile Smith Rowe's dazzling run that set up Alex Iwobi's goal and whether we should be aiming to sign a striker in January. -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs.
