Renewing Your Mind Minute with R.C. Sproul

Some people try to excuse their unbelief by claiming that they have no need for Jesus. Today, R.C. The sermon centers on America's urgent spiritual need, rooted in the biblical image of a scattered, weary people without a shepherd, calling for national revival through repentance, prayer, and active evangelism. Drawing from Matthew 9:35–38 and the story of King Josiah's renewal through the rediscovery of God's law, it emphasizes that true restoration begins not in political or cultural reform, but in humility, a return to Scripture, and a heart of compassion like Christ's. The preacher underscores that while the harvest is abundant—souls hungry for truth—the laborers are few, urging believers to move beyond comfort, embrace spiritual warfare, and engage in practical service, from door-to-door evangelism to church ministry. Ultimately, revival is portrayed as a divine work initiated by prayer, repentance, and the faithful witness of a redeemed people, with the promise that when God's people seek His face, He will heal the land.

When four friends carried a paralyzed man to Jesus, they came believing he needed healing. But Jesus saw something deeper — a greater need the man didn't even know he had.In this message from Mark 2:1–12, Pastor Tom Kobar walks us through three powerful truths: faith is always evidenced by action, forgiveness of sin reveals the divinity of Christ, and unbelief reveals itself through accusation. Along the way, we're confronted with the same question the scribes faced that day — who is Jesus, really, and does he have the authority to forgive your sin?We all have real needs: relationships, health, financial stability, mental wellness. But scripture points us to something greater than all of them. Jesus sees your deepest need, has the authority to meet it, and invites you to place your faith in him today.Part of Mountain City Church's ongoing series through the Gospel of Mark.Mark 2:1–12 (primary text)Mark 1 (context — healing of the leper)Hebrews 11:1James 2:18Psalm 41:4Psalm 103:3John 9:1–7Daniel 7 (Son of Man reference)Romans 3:262 Corinthians 5:21

The sermon centers on the profound truth that humanity's greatest need is not knowledge, physical sustenance, or temporal healing, but eternal life found solely in Jesus Christ. Drawing from key passages in the Gospel of John—Nicodemus's encounter, the Samaritan woman at the well, the feeding of the 5,000, and the healing at Bethesda—it emphasizes that human beings are spiritually dead, blinded by sin, and incapable of grasping divine truth apart from the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. The preacher underscores that the gospel is not merely a set of moral teachings or a promise of earthly blessings, but a radical call to faith in Christ as the only source of life, righteousness, and salvation. The bad news of sin and divine wrath is not minimized, but presented as the necessary backdrop to the good news of Christ's substitutionary sacrifice and the gift of eternal life. Ultimately, the sermon calls believers to recognize their absolute dependence on Christ alone, to reject consumeristic spirituality, and to persevere in faith, knowing that nothing—neither suffering nor loss—can separate them from God's love in Christ.

Every child—and every person—has a fundamental need to know and believe that God loves them unconditionally. This truth is the foundation for overcoming the fears that grip humanity. God's love is based on His character, not based on our actions. In part three of “Building Strong Families,” Duane Sheriff teaches how unconditional love transforms families and sets children free from fear, insecurity, and the need for approval. He identifies four primary fears that often shape children's lives—the fear of faces (people and rejection), fear of fences (obstacles and hardship), fear of failure, and fear of foes (spiritual enemies)—and explains how God's love conquers each one.Parents and grandparents prepare children for life's challenges by teaching them to forgive themselves when they make mistakes and training them to understand the spiritual battles they face. When we truly grasp the depth of God's love, we realize nothing we do can change how much He loves us. Perfect love casts out all fear.

This video brings us to part five of caring for our feelings of insecurity. We have previously learned that by utilizing our awareness, we gain the ability to care for our insecurity feelings. This is a powerful starting and life changing state of mind. Now let's use our new found skill of becoming aware of our emotions in the moment, and focus it on how your insecurity takes form in your life. Is your insecurity related to money? Is it related to your physical appearance, or maybe your sex life?  Now notice the dialogue that goes on in your head. Is there a series of criticisms that go on?  Maybe you say; what's wrong with me? Why am I so stupid? I can't believe I am not better at this stage of my life!  Robert helps you see that rather than criticize yourself, you can turn your attention into action steps to actually benefit your life and care for your insecurities, turning the emotion into a beneficial ally in your life.
