How do you define entitled? For me, it's about wanting something that you haven't done the work to receive. It could be in your career, your relationship, your finances, your health, or any other aspect of your life. This sense of entitlement was never more evident to me than in the fitness industry. While doing a training program with the Navy SEALs in 2015, Jesse was introduced to the concept of embracing the suck. It means you have to be willing to suck at something long enough that you can become good at it. It seems like such a simple concept, but so many people struggle with this. A lot of business owners hold themselves back because they won't take action until they're perfect at something. Jesse gets asked about his morning routine often. Today, he's sharing 7 basics that he does every day. First thing upon waking up, Jesse drinks 30-40 ounces of hydrogen water. That's before coffee or anything. Once he's hydrated and ready to go, Jesse takes a walk. He stacks other habits on his walk, such as taking time to pray and listen to worship music. He likes to have a goal review each day and asks himself if what he's doing is getting him closer to his goals. He also does something called a daily reframe. Furthermore, he thinks it's important to learn, listen, and read something each day. We should always be learning and investing into our lives. Just hearing these habits won't help you. For the past 10 weeks, Jesse has been doing something new: walking. He's found it to be a powerful way to begin his day, and he intends to keep it as a habit. It started when he realized he wasn't getting fast enough results at the gym. Instead of blaming it on getting older, Jesse looked at what changed as he got older. He realized he sat behind a desk more and moved a lot less. So, now he tries to aim for at least 10,000 steps a day. It's the first thing he does every morning, and he stacks other habits with it. On his morning walk he can be found, praying, listening to worship music, or listening to an audiobook. Walking gifts Jesse with physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. If you want to stop drinking, don't have it in the house and don't hang out at the bar. Try starting small. Perhaps you want to check your phone less, try slowly reducing your time.
