Send a textMike and Doug explore what it actually means to be yourself in a world constantly offering scripts. What begins as a conversation about shrinking, privilege, and cultural pressure turns into something more personal: what makes you the most you? The episode wrestles with the tension between self-awareness and self-erasure, humility and hiding, growth and authenticity. Instead of performing strength or apologizing for existing, the invitation becomes simpler and harder: lean into what is uniquely yours. Your voice. Your body. Your weirdness. Your fire. Honest, reflective, and at times provocative, this conversation circles one idea—be fully yourself. Everyone else is already taken.Want more? If you keep telling yourself "it's fine," this episode may change the way you see your entire midlife. In Episode 255 – Playing Small in Midlife: The Hidden Cost of Saying "It's Fine," I explore the subtle pattern that keeps so many women holding themselves back in midlife — not loudly, not dramatically, but quietly and consistently. Playing small in midlife rarely feels like fear. Instead, it feels responsible. It feels efficient. It feels like keeping things moving. You adjust your opinion. You absorb one more task. You smooth over tension. No one tells you to step aside. You do it yourself. Over time, that habit becomes automatic. That is when feeling stuck in midlife begins. Not because you lack direction. Not because you lack motivation. But because you repeatedly override what feels true. You become capable but muted. You start noticing a quiet disconnection from yourself. Midlife transitions often expose this pattern. As roles shift and space opens up, what once felt normal starts to feel heavy. Midlife women feeling invisible are often not overlooked — they are self-editing in small, reasonable moments. In this episode, I challenge the belief that midlife confidence comes before action. It does not. Confidence is feedback. Getting unstuck in midlife begins when you pause instead of smoothing and say one honest sentence instead of "it's fine." This is not about reinventing yourself. It is about returning to yourself. If you are ready to stop holding yourself back in midlife, book a call with me. Let's identify the one small shift that changes everything. Ready to Stop Playing Small? If this episode resonates, don't leave it as insight. In Episode 177 of the Best Coach Ever podcast, Lynette gets radically honest about something most entrepreneurs avoid talking about: failure. Over the last several months, she faced three moments that felt like massive flops — a high-level client leaving, sales calls tanking after a price increase, and a paid masterclass underperforming after a $10,000 ad spend.Instead of spiraling (okay… maybe spiraling a little), she chose to turn each setback into a catalyst. This episode is a masterclass in emotional resilience, leadership, and what it actually looks like to level up in business — not when everything is going well, but when it absolutely isn't.If you've ever felt rejected by a client, questioned your pricing, or watched a launch flop in real time, this one will hit home.If you love this episode, don't forget to leave a 5-star rating and a quick review. Are you dimming your light because it feels "safer"?In this powerful episode of Quality Queen Control, Asha Christina confronts why playing small is blocking your blessings, how fear disguised as humility, limiting beliefs, self-sabotage, and shrinking back from your gifts quietly sabotage the abundance, purpose, and breakthroughs God has prepared for you.Blending biblical truth (like hiding your talent in the ground or being a light on a hill), psychology on fear-based patterns, and real-life revelation, Asha reveals the signs you're playing small: settling in relationships, careers, or calling; avoiding risks; people-pleasing over purpose.Learn to break free from false humility, release the fear of shining, reclaim your God-given power, raise your standards, and boldly step into the high-value, abundant life you're destined for no more blocking the flow! This is your divine invitation to stop playing small.Your blessings aren't delayed sometimes they're just waiting for you to stop hiding. Shine unapologetically; the world (and heaven) needs your full light!
Many Christian women feel called to leadership—but quietly shrink back when it's time to step forward. Playing small doesn't always look like rebellion. Often, it looks responsible. Careful. Humble. Busy. Overextended. Waiting for more clarity. But here's the truth: playing small is costing you influence. In this episode, we explore how shrinking back from your calling impacts your leadership, limits your Kingdom influence, and delays the impact God intends for your life. If you've been struggling with confidence, clarity, or intentional leadership, this conversation will challenge and encourage you. You'll discover why playing small: Weakens leadership confidence Reduces intentional influence Delays personal growth Clouds clarity about God's plan Limits Kingdom impact We also talk about how Biblical truth reframes leadership—not as platform-building, but as faithful stewardship of influence. Christian leadership requires intentional obedience, time management aligned with calling, and confidence rooted in who you are in Christ. God's plan for your life is not passive. It requires courage. It requires clarity. It requires growth. If you've felt stuck between calling and action, this episode will help you recognize where fear may be limiting your influence and how to begin stepping forward with confident, intentional leadership. Reflection Questions: Where have I been shrinking back instead of stepping forward? Am I managing my time around comfort or calling? What influence might I be limiting by playing small? This episode is part of a larger conversation about overcoming the internal barriers that hinder Christian women from stepping fully into God's plan. Over the next few weeks, we'll continue building toward greater clarity, confidence, and intentional leadership. Invitation: If you are a Christian woman who wants to lead with clarity, confidence, and biblical alignment, I invite you to sign up for the Confident Leader Workshop, a 3 session experience designed to help women lead intentionally and stay rooted in God's plan. What if the modest goals keeping you "safe" are actually holding you back? This episode explores why thinking bigger, in a way that's deeply aligned with your strengths often feels easier and more fulfilling than playing small. Through real stories from creative entrepreneurs who've made the leap, we examine the difference between incremental tweaking and visionary thinking, and why your impossible dream might just be exactly what your business needs Key Moments: [00:00] The pattern of playing it safe and why "manageable" goals might be limiting your potential [01:31] Jo's pivotal moment: from waiting for £300 consultations to proposing full-day retreats at organic farm venues [05:10] My personal dream I didn't dare share [07:44] Why aiming for 2x growth keeps you optimising the same approach, while 10x thinking forces complete reimagination [10:03] Marta's revelation: "A successful business will not only sustain you financially, but also as a person emotionally" [13:33] What actually happened when I held onto my impossible dream, how it changed every decision and accelerated growth [18:35] The shift: when you're working towards something genuinely fulfilling [19:55] Framing your impossible dream Notable Quotes: "When you aim for 2x growth, you think in terms of doing more of the same, just slightly better. When you think in terms of 10x, you can't just do more of the same. You have to completely reimagine what's possible." If you spend your life working hard enough to pay your bills, you are not actually successful. Most people are very good at making sure you get what you need. You can find a way every single month to come up with the money for your rent, your car, and your phone. Even when the month feels tight, you manage to make it happen.Yet is this what you really aim for? You have become accustomed to this life, but you have set your sights too low. You are playing a small game because you are only aiming for what you need to survive. In this Diamond Life Mentor Uncut episode, Balazs W Kardos shares how playing small does not remove the risks but keeps you away from your dreams and the life you want. You will hear powerful insights and motivation around:Pivoting to a better mindset, facing financial strugglesDefining real freedomRealizing how your job prevents you from becoming financially and physically freeDreaming bigger and working harderAchieving financial goals practicallyBalazs mentions that one of your biggest mistakes is waiting until you have the money to start dreaming. You will look at luxury travel websites once your bank account is "full". That is backwards. You have to dream first, then the money fills the gap. Most people have no idea what their dream life actually costs because they only see the fake version on social media. Research the actual costs, and that is what forces you to level up your work.If you want a life that is truly life-changing, you have to stop settling for enough. You need to reverse-engineer your life. Figure out where you want to live, how you want to move, and how you want to serve, just like what Balazs did when he set his mind to this business."So we have to look at this fine line between what we must do and only we can do in different areas of our lives, and then what are all the things we can take off of our plates and make this your goal." - Balazs W KardosIf you are ready to stop playing small and start building the life you actually want, listen to this episode and bridge the gap between where you are and where you deserve to be.Want a Personalized Plan for Business & Life Optimization?Book A FREE Call Connect with Balazs W Kardos:WebsiteFacebookThe Diamond Life CommunityLinkedInYouTubeInstagramThe Diamond Life Mentor Instagram

Playing Bigger isn't about blowing up your life. It's not about hustling harder. And it's definitely not about 10X-ing everything overnight. In this very first episode of The Play Bigger Podcast, I'm having an honest conversation about something most high achievers don't want to admit: the quiet, hidden cost of playing small. On the outside, it can look like success. You have clients. You're busy. The calendar is full. Money is coming in. But on the inside… you know you're operating beneath your true capacity. In this episode, I break down the real price you pay when you delay tough decisions, stay the bottleneck, avoid visibility, or keep telling yourself, “I'll build it later.” I also share exactly how this showed up in my own journey—even at high levels of success. This isn't about motivation. This is about standards. And the question is simple: Are you willing to raise yours? If you've been feeling a quiet tension between where you are and where you know you're capable of going—this episode will hit different.Things I Cover in This EpisodeWhat playing small actually looks like for high performersThe 5 real costs of playing small:Financial costTime costEmotional costIdentity costLegacy costWhy exhaustion and playing small can exist at the same timeThe difference between operator thinking vs. CEO thinkingHow high achievers get stuck longer than anyone elseThe danger of “successful dysfunction”My personal seasons of playing small (even while producing big)The fear behind staying private, avoiding visibility, and delaying leverageA powerful self-audit to reveal where you're cappedWhat playing bigger truly means (without chaos or burnout)The one decision that can shift your entire next chapterIf this episode challenged you in the best way, here's your move:Pick one area where you've been playing small.Make one bold decision this week that moves you into alignment. If you're ready to scale with structure, clarity, and strategy, explore what we're building at letsplaybigger.comAnd if this episode hit home, share it with someone who needs the push.---Thank you for joining me on this episode of Play Bigger with Raquel Quinet, and remember, keep pushing your limits to achieve your goals. For updates and collaborations or opportunities, go to www.LetsPlayBigger.comFind more resources on our websitehttps://raquelq.com/podcast/Follow Raquel on Raquel Quinet's socials:Instagram | YouTube | Facebook | LinkedInCheck Out Our2025 Play Bigger EventsApply to be in our Play Bigger MastermindGrow Your Real Estate Business with Real BrokerageJoin our Facebook Play Bigger Community

From Baywatch to The Apprentice to building businesses and raising two sons, Brande shares how she turned setbacks into lessons, stayed grounded through fame, and keeps evolving through every season of life. Her story is proof that beauty fades, but gratitude, grit, and growth never go out of style. Key Takeaways
You've built something impressive. From the outside, it all looks good. But if you're honest with yourself, you've been playing small. Making things look perfect so no one sees the truth underneath. Smiling through the exhaustion. Saying "I'm just" when someone recognizes your power. Shrinking yourself so others feel comfortable. Today's guest knows this pattern intimately because she lived it for years. Sarah Albritton has spent over 30 years as the trusted catalyst for high-impact leaders who've achieved massive success but know something's still missing. She works with CEOs, founders, and senior executives who look unstoppable from the outside yet privately feel their compass spinning. Her clients include billion-dollar business leaders and visionary founders who've realized the old playbook isn't working anymore. But before she was coaching the world's most accomplished leaders, Sarah was the woman who made everything look perfect while quietly crumbling inside. The high achiever with imposter syndrome who spent 20 years in a marriage where she wasn't fully present. The capable woman who carried chronic back pain because her body was screaming what she wouldn't say out loud. The leader who walked into rooms full of elite coaches and heard herself say "I'm just a coach here, just like everybody else" in that high-pitched little voice, watching doors close behind people's eyes. Until the day she couldn't keep playing small anymore. In this raw, vulnerable conversation, Sarah reveals what it actually costs to make things look perfect when you're not being real. The physical pain her body carried from years of inauthenticity. The devastating betrayal when her entire friend group turned on her during her divorce, not just walking away but actively trying to destroy her. The moment at a coaching seminar when she caught herself shrinking and made the conscious choice to show up bigger. And how learning to treat her body as her hero instead of her villain changed everything. In this conversation, Sarah shares: The real cost of playing small: how making things look perfect on the outside creates chronic pain, exhaustion, and a complete erosion of self-trust Why imposter syndrome isn't humility, it's hiding your power, and the exact moment she chose to stop shrinking What happens to your body when you spend years being inauthentic (and why her chronic back pain disappeared the moment she got real) The difference between corporate leaders who've been conditioned not to trust themselves and entrepreneurs who struggle to trust anyone else Why "who, question mark, me, exclamation point" is the energy shift that changes everything The devastating cost of betrayal and how therapy helped her see that other people's reactions to her getting real had nothing to do with her What her 15-year-old son said that made her realize the gift of getting real: "When you decided to get real, you made it possible for the rest of us to get real" How she went from chasing dean positions and status to redefining success as "not needing a definition of success" Why humans are terrible judges of their own impact and what becomes available when you stop needing proof The work she's building now: Leading with Backbone, helping both business leaders and coaches show up courageously instead of hiding behind neutrality This episode is for you if you've ever: Caught yourself saying "I'm just" when someone recognized your power or capability Made everything look perfect on the outside while quietly crumbling on the inside Felt chronic pain, exhaustion, or physical symptoms you can't explain (and wondered if your body is trying to tell you something) Played small so others would feel comfortable, then resented yourself for shrinking Built a life that looks impressive but doesn't feel real, doesn't feel like you Lost trust in yourself after betrayal and wondered if you'll ever feel safe again Known you're capable of so much more but kept yourself small to stay safe Wondered what would happen if you actually showed up as big as you really are Sarah Albritton is a transformational coach and leadership catalyst who has spent over 30 years working with the world's most accomplished leaders. She's known for her rare ability to deliver what she calls "catalytic jolts of clarity," helping CEOs, founders, and senior executives torch limiting patterns and reclaim aligned leadership. Working from deep 1:1 coaching to transformative team sessions to soul-awakening retreats at her North Carolina farm, Sarah balances self-compassion with radical candor and a refusal to sugarcoat. Her new program, Leading with Backbone, helps both business leaders and coaches show up courageously with truth. Find her at sarahcalbritton.com and on LinkedIn and Instagram @sarahcalbritton. Ready to stop playing small? If Sarah's story hit close to home, it's because you're living some version of it right now. You've built something that looks good on the outside. People think you have it together. But you know the truth. You're playing smaller than you're capable of. Making things look perfect so no one sees how exhausted you really are. Shrinking yourself so others feel comfortable while your body carries the weight of everything you're not saying. Here's what that costs you: your energy, your presence, your health, your relationships, and your ability to actually feel the success you've built. You collapse into bed exhausted but can't sleep because your mind won't stop racing. You snap at the people you love most, then feel guilty for not being present. You know you should take better care of yourself but you always run out of time and energy. You've built a life people admire but inside it doesn't feel congruent. The Congruency Audit is where we look at the gap between the success you've built on the outside and what you're actually feeling on the inside. We'll identify the exact patterns keeping you stuck in playing small, the wounds driving your need to make things look perfect, and what it's going to take for you to finally show up as big as you actually are. This isn't about optimizing the version of yourself you built to survive. It's about creating congruence so the life you've built doesn't just look good, it finally feels right. Summary When I crossed the $500K mark in my business, it wasn't because I discovered a new strategy or secret formula — it was because I became a different woman. In this episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of that transformation. I share the five critical mindset shifts that moved me from hustling for every sale to leading a half-million-dollar company with confidence, clarity, and intention. You'll hear the truth about how I stopped undercharging, learned to think like a CEO (even while I was still teaching full-time), and finally gave myself permission to show up boldly and own my stage. I also reveal why chasing perfection was keeping me stuck — and how planning, systems, and strategy unlocked consistent, sustainable growth. If you've been wondering what it really takes to scale beyond six figures — not just in your bank account, but in your belief system — this episode will shift how you think about success, money, and leadership forever. Key Takeaways Shift from Scarcity to Abundance Stop undercharging. Your transformation has value — and people are willing to pay for it. Price with confidence and clarity around ROI. Shift from Employee to CEO Thinking Delegating isn't a luxury — it's a growth strategy. Build systems, hire help, and empower your team to own their roles instead of just completing tasks. Shift from Perfectionism to Progress Done is better than perfect. Execution creates results — and refinement comes after. Consistency compounds over time. Shift from Playing Small to Owning the Stage Visibility drives growth. Show up, speak boldly, and don't be afraid to promote yourself. Confidence attracts clients. Shift from Short-Term Hustle to Long-Term Strategy Plan ahead. Map your launches, set scalable systems, and build sustainable offers that can grow with you and your audience. Memorable Quotes “You've got to stop undercharging. There are always people willing to pay for the transformation.” “Hiring isn't just spending money — it's positioning your business to make more money.” “Execution beats waiting for perfect every single time.” “If you're scared to show up, stay at home — because confidence and boldness attract clients.” “Stop chasing the next sale and start planning for long-term growth.” “Consistency compounds. Small, steady action builds empires.” Secure your spot for the next Monetize Your Book Challenge (Oct 13 - Oct 17): Discover the secret to making sales before your expert book is published, with your book, and beyond your book- and leveraging your book to grow your business CLICK HERE TO REGISTER: www.monetizeyourbooknow.com Stay Connected with Me: Instagram: @thejasminewomack Facebook: @authorjasminewomack LinkedIn: @thejasminewomack YouTube: @thejasminewomack Website: www.jasminewomack.com Grab Your Copy: Published and Paid – Write, self-publish, and launch your nonfiction book in 90 days or less.Ready to get it done? This episode of the Rich Mind Podcast tackles one of the most powerful human emotions: regret. Inspired by a poignant quote from Pam Beesly of the TV show "The Office," Randy and Greg discuss the pain of looking back and wishing you had acted sooner on the most important things in life. This conversation is a call to action to stop "playing small" and start pursuing the life you truly want today. They explore how paradigms and fear keep us in a state of indecisiveness and procrastination, and how to use past successes as fuel for future courage. The episode provides powerful, actionable tools, such as Bob Proctor's "I am so happy and grateful now that..." mantra and the daily practice of gratitude, to shift your focus from past regrets to a future of proactive, joyful creation. Key Takeaways: The fear of regret ("woulda, coulda, shoulda") can be a more powerful motivator for positive change than the fear of failure. As Pam from "The Office" realized, "life just isn't that long." We must act with urgency on the things that truly matter to us. Indecisiveness and procrastination are the primary drivers of future regret. Reflecting on past decisions you are thankful for can provide the courage and confidence needed to make bold new choices. Your deep-seated paradigm often keeps you playing small to protect you from uncertainty, which can lead to a life of inaction. The mantra "I am so happy and grateful now that..." is a powerful tool to program your mind for future success while staying grounded in present gratitude. A consistent gratitude practice is the simplest and most effective way to shift your mindset from lack and regret to abundance and appreciation. Questions Answered in This Episode: How can you use the fear of regret as a positive force in your life? What can a quote from "The Office" teach us about living a fulfilling life? Why do we often wait so long to do the things that are most important to us? How can you overcome indecisiveness and procrastination to avoid future regret? What is a "gratefulness exercise" and how can you start one today? What is the powerful Bob Proctor mantra that can help you manifest your goals? How did a major health scare become the catalyst for a positive identity shift? How can you learn from other people's mistakes to live a better life? So often we choose safety over purpose — pulling back, isolating, or waiting for the “right” moment instead of leaning into the uncertainty of what our soul is calling us toward. True safety isn't found in control or certainty, but in the trust we create within ourselves and the connections we nurture with others. Playing it small might feel comfy and familiar, but it keeps you from the aliveness, love, and freedom you're craving so deeply. Here's a different thought: what if the uncertainty you're resisting is actually proof that you're aligned and growing? Today we're talking about: Staying connected to your body, listening to the whispers and taking that leap of faith When to seek safety...and when that safety you're pulled towards is actually the biggest block holding you back Sometimes your most solid foundation is built from navigating uncertainty Letting go, surrendering, and opening to the possibilities a bold life will both offer and demand from you --> Book a call with me to join my women's group, Grown A$$ Woman Era. In this episode, I share the importance of understanding your “why” in both business and life. I open up about my own journey—how I had to overcome challenges and how my purpose to support my family, especially while my father was battling addiction, became the driving force that kept me going. That clarity of purpose gave me resilience and consistency, and it's the same thing I believe will push you forward too. Many of us have parts of our lives where we want to grow and progress, things we want to do that we haven't done before, and yet, we hesitate and don't move forward because it can be so uncomfortable to do something new, to step into change. I call this the certainty of misery. We're not happy with where we are, but at least it's comfortable, we're certain how our life will be from day to day. If we can courage up and instead learn to step into the misery of uncertainty, we can create in our lives something that matches, and maybe even exceeds, what we dream of. Thanks for listening! In this inspiring episode, Jennifer explores how we limit ourselves by believing we're fundamentally flawed or evil, when the truth is we're simply playing small and denying our divine inheritance. Drawing from A Course in Miracles Lesson 166 ("I am entrusted with the gifts of God"), she reveals how God's trust in us is limitless even when our trust in God is minimal, and how we must unite our will with God's will to receive and recognize the gifts that are already ours. She emphasizes that we're not victims but dreamers of the dream, and that taking responsibility for our creative power - rather than hiding from it - transforms us from tragic wanderers into servants in our Father's house who hold the high watch for all humanity. My guest is Meg Wheeler, CPA, financial educator, founder of the Equitable Money Project, and all-around champion for financial equity. Meg and I both agree: women are not bad at math—and this kind of messaging does more harm than good. But we don't stop there. We also dig into what it really takes to build wealth when you don't come from generational wealth, how financial knowledge—not money—is often the most valuable asset, and why staying politically engaged is a financial strategy. Having It ALL: Conversations about living an Abundant Loving Life
What game are you playing so well… it's keeping you stuck? If you feel like life isn't working, pause before you call it failure. You're winning. You've just been unconsciously training for the wrong game. This episode isn't here to fluff you up or give you a participation ribbon. It's here to hold up the mirror and show you exactly where your energy, time, and identity are going—and what it's actually producing. Because whether it's the Game of Burnout, the Game of Victimhood, the Game of Playing Small, or the Game of “I Can't”—you're clocking W's every day. You're just not enjoying the spoils. I've played all of those games. I've collected those trophies. And I made a new choice. Today, we’re throwing it back to Session 321 — Some Thoughts On Playing Small. This quick episode was inspired by a line from Issa Dee, the beloved character played by Issa Rae in Insecure: “How much different would your life be if you actually went after what you wanted?” It’s a question that feels especially relevant now as we head into summer. The days are longer, the sun is out, and so many of us are ready to stretch, grow, and shine a little brighter. So, what would it look like to stop shrinking and give yourself permission to take up more space, both at work and in your daily life, as well as in your relationships and dreams? I hope this episode encourages you to reflect on where you might be playing small and how you can start showing up more fully for yourself.
