MPF discussion with Vicki WuscheHow to Use Time and Money to Live the Life you want with Vicki Wusche Vicki Wusche started investing in property 2008 and has been named in The Telegraph’s top UK’s 25 most influential people in property. She is an inspiring speaker and author of five books including finalist in the Business Book Awards in March 2020. A regular on podcasts across Europe, America, and Canada as well as the UK, Vicki will surprise you with her take on property, finance and the next decade. Since first recognising property as the best strategy to create her financial security, Vicki has shied away from the “get rich” gurus and their flash cars and shiny shoes. Many of her talks have been said to be straight talking and brutally honest. Vicki would tell you that being successful in property takes commitment and hard work. It takes a good understanding of the market and an even better understanding of the maths involved. Vicki runs both a property training and a property sourcing business. In recent years she has helped clients invest over £5 million pounds and bought over 70 properties. Her investors typically earn 15-20% interest over three years and deals have included traditional buy-to-lets, HMO’s, semi-commercial units, developments, barn conversions and good deal of sourcing. Not bad for a “made-redundant” “single-parent”! When not on holiday scuba diving as her alter-ego The Property Mermaid, she loves having time with her growing family; now with two grandchildren, and recently discovered a love for gardening – COVID induced of course. On this episode of My Perfect Failure (How To Use Time and Money to Live the Life you want) Vicki provides an array of tried and proven tips and advice on how we can all employ to take control of our lives, careers and finances. After months of badgering, we finally weakened Amanda Tully enough to where she agreed to come onto our podcast. After a disappointing 2019 where she finished 2nd, 1st, 1st, and 1st, we couldn't wait to hear what she was going to do to improve this year, LOL. Actually, it was a great pleasure to catch up with her and learn about her racing history and how she and her team came to dominate the east coast races last year. Amanda also discussed with us her recent transition to sim racing and we all shared some of our growing pains, as well as a lot of the fun we are having while home. Vicki was able to put on her Amanda t-shirt and fangirl for the entire episode. It was an unintended coincidence that she appeared in episode 111, but it fit with their results from last season. On this episode of Dominating with Dawson, Ben covers what to do if you have an incident on the track to minimize the effect on your day, and your car. We hope you enjoy the episode! Best regards, Bill, Vicki, Jennifer, and Alan Hosts of the Garage Heroes In Training podcast and team members in the GHiT Immature Endurance Racing Team Highlights from the episode include: 1) How we first met Amanda and her team at our first ever race at NJMP in 2018. 2) How Vicki and Amanda bonded at NHMS in the 3PM overflowing hot tub last year. 3) How Amanda progressed from full newbie racer with HPDE experience to her current successes in Lemons. It all started with the lure of the fun $500 race car. Her experiences indicate that even we may eventually get good at this, we shall see. 4) Amanda may have helped Bill with the "what spares should we bring" discussions that we always seem to have. Since Amanda said it, Vicki may finally agree. We shall see. 5) We try to dissect the "issues" that led to her low performance of the year at Pittsburgh last year where they "only" finished in second place. But they did win the "I Got Screwed" Award. 6) How HPDE and especially her past motorcycle HPDE track days may have influenced her driving style, as well as her skill. 7) We tried getting some more info related to Amanda's latest car for Lemons. it's still super secret, but we know it is coming. Rumor has it that we may even be able to pass her team once this year. 8) Amanda and Bill try to help Vicki with her nervousness in joining the races. Both shared some of there best/poorest i-Racing performances so far. 9) We also discuss several similarities and differences we are seeing in sim racing and our more normal meat world racing. Peripheral vision, lack/different G force feedback, tire grip/physics, and various software settings seem to not be helping any of us at this point. Still having fun though. 10) Sim racing: It's the same, but it's not. 11) Vicki displays a story about why testing on Fridays should not be optional, especially if it's your first time at a track. 12) Amanda was even kind enough to go into what she would recommend to improve your performance and fun at a race. It is all fairly simple, but very important things that she has learned from others and through personal experience. 13) Brandon and Kelly both get a quick shut out. Kelly, you need to come out on track. 14) We also continue our continuing discussion on in car data and lap timing. Amanda is pretty firm in her position and her opinion isn't going to change any time soon. Pursuit of a fast lap time has hurt her team's performance in the race so many times. It is far more important to get all your laps similar and all your drivers as close as possible. 15) Our mutual friends in the Folgers car get another shout out. 16) Bill bonds with Amanda on spares and tools for the track. Vicki still seems less than enthused. 17) Amanda is not a fan of our RS4 tire use but prefers the Azenis 615's. We think it may be worth a retry at some point. Maybe she will borrow or test ours. Once we find a few more BMW 8.5" * 17" DSII rims (or DS2). 18) We need to see if there are any cars that Amanda likes besides her E36 and E92. There has to be at least one. 19) We even bond over our poor i-Racing seats. 20) We joke around about a recent i-Racing event with the Three Pedal Mafia at the expense of our great friends Jeff and Mental.
You will NEVER believe what happens in today’s episode of the Manifestation Babe podcast. I share with you a story of surrender, inspired action, and faith. About two weeks ago, Londa, Vicki, Brennan and I took a flight from Marrakech, Morocco, to Paris, France, and babe do I have a story for you! Today’s story is a GREAT example of what it means to surrender to the fact that sometimes the Universe works in the eleventh hour. I talk about the importance of not giving up along the way, as well as relinquishing control. It is a reminder of just how important it is to surrender, trust, and have faith that no matter what, you will absolutely get the outcome you DESIRE. The Universe will absolutely give you what you WANT. However, the caveat is, it will happen at the last minute, it will happen in the eleventh hour. This is an episode all about surrendering to the universe while taking inspired action. I am curious if you have had a similar experience to this, or if this episode helped you have a little more faith in the process. If you feel like this episode resonated with you or you know someone who needs to hear it, please be sure to tag me on Instagram at @manifestationbabe and share it with your community to spread the word! In This Episode You Will Learn: What lessons the Universe taught me about surrendering (2:42) How Vicki and I surrendered to the Universe (9:31) What happened to our luggage the night before we left Paris (12:15) What it means to really have faith and trust (15:45) What it means to trust after having your trust broken (17:45) Why it is important not to get stuck in pure surrender (19:57) Questions I Answer: What do I mean by the Universe works at the eleventh hour? (1:43) Why is it so important to surrender and trust that things are always happening for a reason? (2:58) How the Universe made me surrender? (7:32) Why is it important to take inspired action? (10:41) When does faith really matter? (15:12) What is the moral of this story? (19:25) Links/Resources Manifestationbabe.com/links Follow me on Instagram Join our Manifestation Babe community! In our episode this week we meet an entrepreneur who’s been on a 30 year quest to find ways to create environments and networks for people to innovate and solve problems that matter. We’re talking about the amazing Founder and CEO of SheEO, Vicki Saunders. Vicki grew up in Canada on her family’s farm where she learnt early on to work hard and problem solve. However, her pathway to becoming an entrepreneur took place, unusually for a young Canadian woman, in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Vicki spent 4 years in Prague where she started multiple businesses learning as she went along. She also built a community of entrepreneurs there, before returning to Toronto to found Canada’s first ever incubator. Fast forward many years and Vicki was mentoring a brilliant young female entrepreneur who was struggling to get funded. She realised then that the system was broken for women… with female-founded startups receiving less than 4% of all venture capital funding. Vicki decided she had to do something to change this and figure out a way to get more women’s business ideas funded. And so SheEO was founded. Now operating in 5 countries, SheEO is a network of women who support, finance and celebrate female innovators who run ventures solving important world problems. In this episode learn: What it was like as an entrepreneur in Eastern Europe after the Berlin Wall came down How Vicki created Canada's first incubator, floated it on the stock exchange; and then got fired Why she thinks the environment you surround yourself in is so critical to your success How women's radical generosity is changing the world, and how you can get involved. A Snapshot of Vicki Baird: Feels blessed everyday and humbled by everyone that trusts her. Loves to help her clients understand themselves, which then helps them in relationships with others. Will always remember Ann, Vicki’s friend, who was transitioning into her next life. Vicki let Ann know that everything was going to be okay when passing. Grateful to Ann for being her guide and trusted Vicki in her transitioning. How Vicki was able to process all of this in her own husband’s passing: Had a recurring sense that something was going to happen to her husband, but Howard kept a great sense of humor throughout. Realized feeling the spirit energy doesn’t have to be a scary thing. Brought Vicki a lot of peace. Why Vicki appreciates her gifts: Wants to bring comfort to those that are still here. Enjoys teaching others because Vicki never had a teacher throughout any of these processes. Feels a huge responsibility using her intuitive gifts. My guest today is Vicki Raport, one of the founding members of Quantum Retail Technology. Vicki was on the front lines of Quantum’s sale. The story she has to tell is impressive and is a clean-cut example of how a company sale should happen. We discuss the journey Vicki and her partners took to build a successful business and how they kept a delicate balance between five (yes, five) founders. They pivoted the business from a SaaS to an Enterprise model, Vicki explained how they reached that decision and what it meant for the business as a whole. If your goal for your business is to build a lucrative company and then sell it, Vicki’s story is inspirational and fascinated. You will learn about: Vicki’s background and the career change that was the beginning of Quantum Retail Technology. How Vicki used skill sets to find the right people for her team. How Quantum Retail Technology pivoted into “deployable software.” The pros and cons of Enterprise software and what is it? What triggered the sale plans. How Vicki and her team planned for the company sale. The failed attempt to maximize the business. The importance of being intentional in business. The team’s goals for the company sale. How to hire the right investment banking firm. Why the chosen buyer was a good fit. How Vicki and her team handled running the company during the sale negotiation. How Vicki’s employees responded to the sale. What Vicki would have done differently. The importance of hiring the right lawyer. How to cope with emotional and mental drain during a sale. Today’s show highlights some very interesting and useful points for any entrepreneur. Not only did Vicki Raport and her four partners build a well-respected and profitable business, but when they sold, they got the cleanest contract out of the deal. They got the terms they wanted and the company they sold to fulfilled each and every one. So what did Vicki do differently that helped her achieve such a desirable outcome? Intention Is Everything When Selling A Company Vicki attributes her success to great intention. She had intention in design, action, planning and execution. When she started her company, she knew she wanted to work in the market she was familiar with and so contacted a bunch of her old coworkers to see if anyone else was interested in developing a business. By drawing from five different founders, their business (Quantum Retail) was able to utilize multiple skill sets and strengths. It quickly became a successful industry giant whose clients, while not numerous, were mighty and well-known. As with most entrepreneurial endeavours, Quantum started out as a single-purpose business catering to one client’s needs and then developed more of a portfolio as they gained more clients who had other needs in the same market. Vicki’s story is a great example of capitalizing on what you know and building off of that until you are an indispensable service (or product) in your particular market niche. The only difference is in the intention; in the planning. Thoughtfulness, intention, planning, due diligence… whatever name you need to give this concept of acting with intention, do it. The better prepared you are and the more contingencies you plan for, the greater success you will achi
Vicki Robins, the co-author of the very popular book, “Your Money or Your Life” has been one of the most influential visionaries of the Financial Independence movement. In the late 1960’s, with the advice of the late Joe Dominguez, Vicki reached Financial Independence and together they began to teach their revolutionary methods all over the nation. Their workshops featured the famous 9 steps to reach Financial Independence and eventually, Vicki and Joe were approached to turn their teachings into the book that we know today, "Your Money or Your Life". The book went on to be wildly popular, encouraging people to fight against the weight of consumerism and become a New York Times bestseller. Vicki also made two appearances on the Oprah Show with Oprah declaring that the book "would change your life". More than 25 years later, Vicki has written an updated version of the book for a new generation of people on the path to Financial Independence. I'm so honored to have Vicki on the show to discuss: How Vicki met the late co-author Joe Dominguez and how they worked to create the Financial Independence movement How their book “Your Money or Your Life” came to fruition and became popular. Why Vicki set out to create an updated version of the book The importance of relationships and how they create community wealth Why “freeing your mind” is the cornerstone of Financial Independence The definition of the “Enough Point” How to calculate your life energy and true hourly wage What Vicki believes to be the most transformational steps of the 9 steps from the book How Vicki believes the new version of “Your Money or Your Life” will impact the world in this new age The bigger picture of systemic barriers in the United States that make achieving Financial Independence more difficult Also, find out how you can be one of 3 Journeyers, to win a free copy of the updated book, "Your Money or Your Life".
