Harley-Davidson Factory Racing's Kyle Wyman leads the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship heading into this weekend's final round of the series at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Wyman leads S&S/Indian Motorcycle's Troy Herfoss by just two points with the two races at Wyman's home track of NJMP left to run. GHiT 0519:  Vicki's Surprise Weekend at the NJMP Lightning HPDE with NASA Northeast Another podcast example that the post race weekend hangover is real, but we wanted to cover the big race weekend.  This is part one of 3 or so and this event wraps up our 2023 season.  As frequent listeners know, we had a big surprise in store for Miss Vicki and now we can go into the event in detail.  As a background, Vicki and Bill had their 25th wedding anniversary in October and postponed the celebration due to life and racing obligations.  In addition, Bill had been planning a celebration for many years to say thank you to Vicki for spending/wasting half of her life with him.  So Jennifer, Debbie, and Audra helped set up a surprise party on Friday to give Vicki her finished race car.  And then Saturday evening, Adam Owens officiated our renewal of vows.  Also, we did a lot of racing in the 8 cars we brought to the track. Last year, young Spencer Humphreys made a surprise visit to the podium after finishing third in the first of two MotoAmerica Junior Cup races at New Jersey Motorsports Park. We'd never seen him before, but he made an impression both on the track and off as he took to the post-race press conference like a seasoned pro. GHIT 0359  GridLife's NJMP 2022 Event with E1R's Chris and Chrissy We were finally able to go to our first GridLife event this year at NJMP and to make it even better we were there with our friends from the Everyone Racers podcast Chris and Chrissy.  Since we were all together, we decided to do a podcast mashup.  We were split up among the intermediate and advanced HPDE groups for this weekend.  Chris was looking to test and tune their latest K swapped 1993 Honda Civic.  Chrissy wanted to gain overall speed and confidence.  Jennifer was there to get a bit more time and comfort driving our front wheel drive Civic.  Vicki was going to drive our 2019 Mazda Miata on track for the first time and Bill was looking to help anyone he could at this event.  In addition, we were finally going to meet our friends at GridLife, as well as Ross Bentley and Peter Krause.  What could be better.  Oh, that's right, the weather turned us into baked potatoes as this was the hottest track event that we have ever attended. GHIT 0349:  Dave Carpenter from the Three Pedal Mafia's Cheaties Car At long last, we have secured Dave Carpenter for the podcast.  Dave drives in the orange Cheaties themed Cressida with the Three Pedal Mafia team.  In addition, Bill drove in the Cressida at the last race in NJMP where it finished 6th overall in spite of Bill driving.  With so much to talk about, we tried to limit it to the Lemons race at NJMP's Thunderbolt track, all about the Cressida, and how Dave manages the team and maintains a pretty strict budget and still routinely finishes in the top ten overall despite being out paced by a large fraction of the field.  Hopefully, we will have Dave on again to talk more about his racing past and iRacing. GHIT 0344:  Race Recap:  GHIT's Ladies Team Raced In our 1993 Honda Civic Our first ever race was at NJMP's Thunderbolt track with 24 Hours of Lemons and seems to be a lifetime ago.  We started out knowing nothing and that was probably being kind.  At this year's event, we entered our 1993 Honda Civic with its full theme to thank the Everyone Racers podcast for all their help getting us started and helping us ever since.  Vicki and Jennifer raced with two of the hosts from the Shifting Points podcast at this event.  Audra had raced once with us last year and this was Jess's first ever wheel to wheel racing event.  How did the event go?  Did the ladies Dominate?  Was the theme a bit overdone?  This year we did it all for the Cookie.  Until it was stolen.  More details to follow soon. GHIT 0313:  Track Day Recap from our HPDE Event with NASA Northeast at NJMP's Lightning Track Jennifer and Vicki had their first trip the track this year at the NASA Northeast HPDE event at NJMP's Lightning track.  Our event prep had a few issues with our Honda Civic inaugural shake down.  The issue is still TBD at this point.  Jennifer was in the HPDE 2 group and Vicki was in the HPDE3/4 group.  Bill was primarily concerned with instructing two students this weekend, both we on a track for their maiden voyage.  The weekend was a mix of highs and lows, many highs and really only one low.  We go over our weekend and how everyone progressed.  Both Jennifer and Vicki improved significantly over the winter off season, and we go into several of their accomplishments and the details.  The post race weekend hangover is real, and we all tried to stay focused and coherent with varied results, lol.  Our next event is later this month at Lime Rock Park and then our back-to-back racing weekends at PittRace with AER and then the 24 Hours of Lemons.  We also cover some of the trickier aspects of growing as a driver and some of the precautions to be aware of, especially if you have a significant improvement on your speed.
