Jesus distinguishes all other plantings of God, in saying I AM The True Vine. We as believers are planted in Him, to be rooted and built up in Him! Glory to God!
Jesus said I AM The True Vine. Until He came into the earth, the vine of God had been the natural people of Israel. Jesus was saying, I AM The true planting of the LORD. You and I who are in Christ are planted in Him. We grow up in the Vine of Christ unto the things of God. This is the true planting. This is God's doing!

Hey everyone and welcome to Refinery Life Church. Our new sermon series is titled “The Adequacy of Jesus Christ.” As God promised to be adequate to meet the needs of Moses and the children of Israel, so to Jesus also claimed divine adequacy. The great “I Am's” of the Gospel of John are the texts we will be working through for these messages. Today we are talking about I Am The True Vine. Although most people were not vineyard keepers, they were familiar with the line of work. In this environment Jesus made His last great “I am” statement. “I am the true vine.” He said, “and My Father is the gardener.” Vines grow on terraces and require a lot of attention. A young vine was not allowed to bear fruit within the first three years. It was pruned drastically to develop a strong root system. Even after the vine began to bear grapes, it was still pruned, because some branches would produce fruit while others only sapped the vine and its strength and productivity. In this setting Jesus gave a dramatic lesson about those who claimed to be followers of God. Jesus is the only true vine, His Father is the gardener, and we are the branches. Let us look at each of these statements and see what truth they have for us. In the sculpture I did not see the correlation of what Jesus said, "I AM The True Vine to the Feast of Tabernacles until I was in the study of both. Part or much of the significance of the Feast of Tabernacles has to do with Ingathering's of the Fruit of the Field. So as to mention it, it also deals with the King, who we know is fulfilled in our Lord Jesus Christ. However, if we look at the Feast as pertaining to the Harvest Time, we have to find that fulfillment in Christ, and no where else. ALL The Scripture testifies of Him. John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. New King James Version." Jesus stated here that their fruit may remain. This is of heavy significance. Our fruit is that of Him, or defined in the scripture as the fruit of the Spirit. We could say that one aspect of the Feast of Tabernacles or Feast of Ingathering, is the gathering up of the Fruit of THE TRUE VINE, into the House. HALLELUJAH. Yes, and not just a gathering up of it, but that it may remain. That the effect of Christ is He would remain or His substance would be formed in us. Glory to God! Leviticus 23:39 On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the produce of the land, you are to celebrate a feast to the LORD for seven days. There shall be complete rest on the first day and also on the eighth day.
