We HIGHLY recommend Driven Nutrition and if you are looking to give them a try use the bonus code ETP for 20% off. This came out SO good. Much of the industry gets super bored with the basics and foundational information but with no clients entering the market every day the fundamentals are often missed. Here are some great examples we talked about: Why Collagen is not a good source of protein and no one else is saying that. Note Jason sells collagen in some of his products so I thought his take on it was really interesting. Why just eating real food often means you fall short on crucial macros and micros. How to get your kids the right amount of nutrients in foods they like.
Jason Rule is back with Driven Nutrition. He and Fern discuss some GREAT tactics with regard to selling products at events, competitions or any other scenario that would involve unusually high foot traffic in the box. This is gonna be great for in house comps, fundraising events, the Open and many other events. The average affiliate probably holds 4 "events" a year and could really capitalize on some great advice here. Fern learned a ton here and Driven has a buyback program for products not sold at the event. All of the box owners fears about stocking products for events are addressed here. There's a lot of competition in the fitness business.Gone are the days where being a great coach and offering a great product are enough to get you clients—that's the bare minimum. Every successful gym has great coaches and great products, so what makes you different? Jason Rule, founder of Driven Nutrition, is faced with the same question daily. The supplement industry is vast and competitive, with celebrity endorsements and secretive formulas and business plans that rely on deceit. But with 1,600 gyms on his client roster, Jason's figured out a thing or two. Here, Certified Two-Brain Mentor Jay Williams interviews Jason on the tricks of the trade. You'll learn how he gets new clients, why he prioritizes relationships over volume and his processes for continuing to improve his business and build brand loyalty.Links:Driven Nutrition"Founder, Farmer, Tinker, Thief"Book a free call with a Certified Two-Brain MentorContact: Instagram: @drivennutrition, @jason_ruleTimeline:0:43 – Starting Driven Nutrition and finding a market in CrossFit. 2:16 – Teaching gym owners not to fear profit.5:44 – How to get referrals.9:26 – Standing out amidst the competition.12:20 – Celebrate the people who pay you money.14:03 – The webinar for 15 people: an exercise in starting small before you scale up.19:02 – The mission of Driven Nutrition.20:48 – Surviving sleazy competition and how to win back the clients they take.25:24 – Using setbacks as learning experiences.28:07 – What makes Driven Nutrition different.31:12 – Combining a great product with honest pricing—and still making a profit.33:03 – Why gym owners shouldn’t be afraid of buying a new car.35:16 – How to define your core values.36:49 – Gym owners: Don’t reinvent the wheel when it comes to supplements.38:40 – Educate yourself.42:51 – Recommendations from Jason’s bookshelf.
On today’s episode, Fern sits down with Jason Rule of Driven Nutrition, the supplements coming that works with affiliate aswell. While Jason owning GNC found that companies supplement would cut back on raw product and saying it was to “improve” the formulas when in reality they were cutting back to save money. During this process, Jason realised he knew so much about these raw products and how they should be put together that he discided to start making the product himself. Fern and Jason discuss the problem with the supplement industry and how Driven Nutrition is different. Making it affordable and educating affiliate not just on supplements but on how to sell anything in your affiliate. Jason Rule, founder of Driven Nutrition, is by far one of the best humans I know. Especially because he lives in a world of slimy, shitty sales people peddling their supplements. Driven is more of a consulting service where they teach you HOW to incorporate supplements into the client experience and create a unique system where your microgym becomes more convenient than Amazon with auto shipping. www.drivennutrition.net

The real focus of this episode is talking about the value of your time. Is it worth it to outsource your programming and what I started to bring business.com to bring coaching.com I built these sites myself from scratch because I wasn't satisfied with what else was out there. It's important to know how to build a website yourself. It's important to know how to change your own oil. It's important to know how to rotate your own tires, but the value of your time is what's most important. I'm not a graphic designer, I'm not a website designer and so I trust liquid state design to take care of all this stuff for me. Check them out. Toxic Teresa, they do some pretty amazing work and a lot of two brain gyms are already using them. To huge advantage in their local market.Greg Strauch: 01:10 All right. I'm here with Jason Rule, owner of Driven nutrition. Jason, how are you?Jason Rule: 01:15 I'm good. Thanks for having me on Greg. I appreciate it.Greg Strauch: 01:18 Happy to. I know personally within my gym, I love the products that Driven nutrition has been able to offer us. I would say as a business owner, I love the profit margins as well. Uh, before we get into all that, let's kind of start with your story. Let's start with kind of what led you up to open driven nutrition and uh, Kinda expand and we'll go from there.Jason Rule: 01:37 All right. Right on. We'll dive into it. So about 20 years ago, I bought my first supplement store and then shortly after that, about a year after that, about
Today we are joined by Jason Rule of Driven Nutrition. Jason has been a serial entrepreneur for over 20 years, and originally got his start by creating a software company. Soon after his passion for health launched him into purchasing GNC store and bursting onto the health supplement scene. After becoming frustrated with the current supplement offerings, Jason started his own supplement line, Driven Nutrition, focusing on outreach to CrossFit affiliates and serving their customers. Today we will discuss more about how he started his company, how it has grown, and what is next for Driven.
Not many players in the supplement industry that I respect, but this guy is the exception to that. I really don't give a shit if you order his product, but def. learn from the wisdom that he brings to the table in terms of retail, selling any product and organizing the the tug of war between supply & demand.

In Episode 7, we take a moment of pause from discussing our usual training, competing, and physical culture in order to look at strength in a whole new light. We look at the strength of the human heart, both literally and figuratively. Jason Rule, owner of Driven Nutrition--one of the foremost nutritional supplement companies supporting CrossFit affiliated gyms, opens his heart to tell us and our listeners a story that few have heard: Lakin's story. In this first installment of a three-part story, strength is revealed in the love and strength of a mother willing to undergo indescribable pain for unconditional love. Strength is revealed in a father who doesn't know if his wife or unborn child will survive. Strength is revealed in parents who survive 10 minutes at a time as they sit with a newborn preparing for open heart surgery. Strength is revealed as Jason takes gratitude for life from his newborn son's challenges and channels them into building a brand that supports the health and well-being of Affiliate communities.
