Ever find yourself looking around and wondering why the rest of the world seems to have it so easy while you're trying your best to walk the narrow road? In this episode, we dive into the raw honesty of Psalm 73, tracking the journey of a worship leader who almost lost his footing to envy and comparison. We explore how easily an outward fixate on what others have can warp our minds and steal our peace. But the story doesn't end in the struggle. Discover how stepping into God's presence changes everything, quieting our anxious minds with His overwhelming grace, anchoring us in true contentment, and sending us back into the world ready to worship.DISCUSSION QUESTIONS1. The Trap of Comparison: Asaph admits he nearly lost his spiritual footing because he was fixated on the success and ease of others (Psalm 73:2-3). With social media constantly displaying everyone's "highlight reels," in what specific areas of your life are you most tempted to compare and covet?2. The "Beast-Like" Perspective: Envy can reduce our thinking to a "beast-like" level (v. 22)—focused entirely on immediate comfort, instinct, and visible circumstances. How does losing an eternal perspective change the way you react to daily stressors or financial anxieties?3. The Power of the Sanctuary: Asaph's perspective didn't shift until he entered the sanctuary of God (v. 17). Why is gathering for worship or being vulnerable with a gospel-centered community so vital for correcting a warped perspective?4. Living in Sufficiency: The sermon highlights the truth that "God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (v. 26). Practically speaking, what is one tangible gratitude practice or gospel truth you can use this week to interrupt the cycle of comparison?+ + + + +Hey, while you're here, please help Generation by clicking the 'Subscribe' button, then click on the BELL

Faith is easy when things are clear—but what happens when you're in a season of waiting? In this episode, we explore the tension between faith and doubt, especially in moments of delay, comparison, and unanswered prayers. Through powerful biblical examples like Joseph, David, and the woman with the issue of blood, we uncover what it truly means to trust God even when it's hard.If you've ever said, “Lord, I believe… but help my unbelief,” this episode is for you.

We conclude Mark's words on the incident of Jesus's casting out of a spirit from a young boy and the disciples' question concerning why they were not able to cast out the spirit from the boy. Once again, our Lord said this kind of spirit could only be cast out by the kind of faith that believes that with God, all things are possible. From then on, Mark writes our Lord Jesus taught His disciples that He, the Son of Man was going to be delivered up into the hands of men, and be killed and after three days rise again. This is now the 3rd time in this chapter that the Lord Jesus Christ points out His death and resurrection to His disciples who had yet to understand what He meant. Here is Dr. Mitchell, Mark 9:22 on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

Date: 11/16/25 Series: Living the Jesus Way Passage: James 5:7-12 Speaker: Senior Pastor Clay Smith
Welcome back to our Feast Talk Series on the Sermon on the Mount called The Good Life. In the Sermon, Jesus presents six laws from the Law of Moses and then offers His radical interpretation of it. The six laws He picked on are: (1) Murder; (2) Adultery; (3) Divorce; (4) Oaths; (5) Eye for an Eye; and (6) Love Your Neighbors. We'll be covering these six in the next three talks. Jesus' take on these six laws was so revolutionary, and must have been surprising to His Jewish audience, who thought holiness was just about behavior. By picking the six laws, Jesus was telling His disciples that in this new Kingdom, the law wasn't enough. God doesn't want behavior modification but inner transformation. Talk 3 of The Good Life series centers on the message: Forgive those who do not deserve to be forgiven.

What a week. Trump cozies up to Putin in Alaska, Melania goes to war with Hunter Biden for repeating already reported accounts of how she met Donald Trump through Epstein, and D.C. is still under military occupation. At this point, who even knows what's coming next? It's been chaos on overdrive, and tonight we're breaking it all down, facts first, snark included.
