And for those desiring to give for her freedom, there is a link where it's quick and easy to do so! They can also go to our social media pages on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/wipeeverytear, and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/wipeeverytear. Wipe Every Tear started in a high school teacher's classroom. After years of leading basketball and volleyball teams to the Philippines, Kenny's eyes were opened to the nightmare of human-sex trafficking. Having five daughters of his own, his heart broke at the reality that girls were being sold for sex. In 2008, Wipe Every Tear was born, and in 2012 It all began in 2007 where Kenny lead a summer basketball mission team to the Philippines. The following year in 2008 while leading a girl's volleyball team, Kenny's eyes were opened to the nightmare of human-sex trafficking when his heart broke at the reality that girls were being sold for sex. After the 2008 trip he and his wife decided to help one impoverished girl he'd met during that time and they founded Wipe Every Tear. Helping one girl quickly became four, and then many. He entered into the sex trade (the good side!) in 2012. Kenny began with the mindset, “If these girls were my daughters, how would I want someone to treat them and come to their rescue?” Shortly thereafter he left his teaching and coaching career to dedicate all of his time rescuing and restoring girls and women from the sex trade. Their first safe house, called Hope House, was secured in 2012 in partnership with local Filipinos. Wipe Every Tear works closely with local Filipino churches to help women escape the imprisonment of sexual exploitation, providing a new life in Jesus along with formal college education which is a must in the Philippines to even work in the fast food industry. Kenny is passionate for revival and seeing the kingdom of heaven invade the poor, hungry, destitute, and lovely women trapped in the sex trade, believing the presence of God changes everything. Since our inception, many more women have been welcomed into our safe houses where they experience freedom, security, three meals a day, education, and discipleship. Through this simple act of providing a loving home, women's lives are continuing to be restored to this day. We have had the privilege to see the transformation of dozens of young girl's and women's lives, bringing hope, freedom, and a great future in the name of Jesus. Kenny travels one third of his time in the Philippines and also speaks at churches, gatherings, and conferences in the Philippines, America, and other nations. Prior to Wipe Every Tear, Kenny graduated from seminary and pastored two churches. He was a high school teacher and basketball and track and field coach for ma...

Welcome to our Best of Summer series, where we will be posting some of our favorite past episodes of the LoveX2 Project, as we prepare for the big launch of our brand new season in September. You don't want to miss a single episode, so be sure to subscribe to this podcast on whatever platform you're listening to. In this episode, we are joined by Jack and Sheila Harper from Save One, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping men, women, and families recover after abortion. Sheila shares her personal journey of pain and healing after an abortion, which led to the founding of Save One. The Harpers discuss the ongoing cultural and political landscape surrounding abortion, especially in the wake of the Roe vs. Wade overturn, and the increasing prevalence of chemical abortions. They highlight the urgent need for support and healing for those affected by abortion and how Save One is expanding its reach globally. The episode sheds light on the traumatic experiences many face with chemical abortions and the critical role of ministries like Save One in providing much-needed care. In India, a group of researchers raced to develop a CRISPR-based genome editing therapy to save the life of a young woman with a rare neurodegenerative disease. Despite a valiant effort, the pace of research was ultimately too slow to save her life. While many are convinced that these therapies could offer hope to those with overlooked genetic conditions, it will likely take years to develop the techniques needed to quickly create bespoke treatments, something people in need don't have. This is an audio version of our Feature: Hope, despair and CRISPR — the race to save one woman's life Hosted on Acast. Red Handfish are one of the rarest fish in the world, with only about one hundred individuals left in the wild, living on two tiny reefs in south ast Tasmania. This summer, as a marine heatwave bore down on these critically endangered fish, scientists leapt into action to prevent the species' extinction, taking 25 Red Handfish out of the sea and caring for them on land until waters cooled. Now, they've been able to release nearly all of them back into the wild. We're joined by Dr Andrew Trotter from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies at the University of Tasmania to learn about this extraordinary effort.Image: John Turnbull/Flickr.

We've said it before and we'll say it again - make sure you get your booster dose. But what, you ask, is in it for me? How likely am I to be the one who dodges severe disease? Well a new study has quantified this. It's a number familiar to epidemiologists - the number needed to treat to prevent a certain outcome. Also this week: where are we at with repurposing existing drugs to prevent COVID? What's happening with flu numbers? And who was Tegan's surprise fluffy office visitor?

survive + thrive ~ conversations young with breast cancer survivors
Meet Wanda Brown! Wanda is a force! Many in our local community, when hearing about our podcast, reached out and said, “you have to talk to Wanda.” She tackles advocacy for the underserved with a mission that is impressive. She is well known in our community and especially in the African American community for her selfless work educating women, and men, about breast cancer. She developed and is actively involved in The Sister's Network and Hope For US as she views her mission as a ministry to help others. She recounts her own personal struggle with diagnosis and treatment for her breast cancer, and over the years since her diagnosis, she used her experience to learn all she could about breast cancer and its effect, particularly in the African American Community. As she pursued educating herself about her unique journey, she worked diligently to find ways to break down barriers to access for mammography and be a constant advocate for those touched by breast cancer. Wanda Brown is a person who makes you sit up and take notice! She knows of what she speaks and has made a positive difference in this world. We were so fortunate to talk to a force like Wanda, who, in her words, sees her life as “too blessed to be stressed.” We're sure you will be inspired by hearing Wanda's story!
