Some fires leave more than ashes. The marriage that ended, the relapse that cost you, the dream that died — life doesn't always leave us a little banged up. Sometimes it burns the whole thing down. In this final message of our Breaking Point series, we look at what God does after the collapse. Because the same God who meets us at the breaking point knows how to rebuild what broke there. Your ashes are not the end of your story.
“Carried by Community” is a message about the danger of isolation and God's design for healing through honest, Christ-centered community. In a culture that celebrates self-sufficiency, many people quietly carry shame, addiction, grief, fear, and emotional exhaustion alone while pretending they are okay. Using Galatians 6:1-3, this message confronts the lie that needing help is weakness and reveals that spiritual maturity is not hiding struggles but helping carry burdens. The gospel shows us that Jesus carried our greatest burden at the cross, which means we no longer have to live behind masks or fake strength. This message challenges people to step out of hiding, ask for help, and become the kind of community that gently helps restore others. Healing grows where honesty lives, and freedom begins when we stop carrying everything alone.
Your weakness is not the place where God gives up on you. It is often the place where His grace becomes the clearest, His power becomes the strongest, and His presence becomes the most real. You do not have to fake strength to find freedom. Bring Jesus the weak place, because your weakness is where God's strength gets loud. #BreakingPoint
Your breaking point is not your ending point. When life comes apart, God does not back away from broken people. He draws near, He stays close, and He often begins healing through honest connection. God is near. #BreakingPoint
A lot of us keep hiding because we are afraid that if people really knew us, they would reject us. But the gospel gives us a better story. In Jesus, we are seen, loved, forgiven, and invited into family. Freedom grows where we belong. You can't heal what you hide, and you can't hide where you belong. #Unmasked
A lot of us know how to talk about freedom, but we are still fighting in secret. We hide our struggles, isolate in shame, and wonder why nothing changes. But God never designed healing to happen in hiding. Healing grows when we step into the light, get honest, pray together, and let trusted people walk with us. We do not heal alone. We heal together. #Unmasked
A lot of us are terrified of being fully known because we assume honesty will cost us love. But the gospel tells a better story. In Jesus, we are not invited into hiding, performance, or denial. We are invited into the light. Confession is not where condemnation starts. It is where cleansing begins. You are more known than you realize, and in Christ, more loved than you thought possible. That is why confession is safe. #Unmasked

Nominate your veterinary hero here today! On this episode of The Vet Blast Podcast presented by dvm360, our host Adam Christman, MBA, DVM, and welcomes Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, to the show to chat about the physical and mental challenges veterinary professionals face in the industry, plus the need for systemic changes to address burnout and injuries in veterinary clinics.
A lot of us know how to look okay while falling apart underneath. We hide sin, fake strength, and act like everything is fine, but pretending keeps us sick. God does not heal the version of us we perform. He heals the real us when we bring our lives into the light. Hiding keeps us hurting. Honesty sets us free. #Unmasked
A lot of people start strong, but few keep walking when life gets hard. Hebrews 11 shows us that real faith isn't about perfect people, it's about persistent people. If we're going to live this out, we don't quit when it gets messy, painful, or unclear. We keep walking. #FaithInAction
A lot of us don't have a faith problem, we have an honesty problem. We believe in some areas and struggle in others, but instead of bringing that to Jesus, we hide it. The truth is, God doesn't shame weak faith, He strengthens it. You don't have to fake it. Bring your doubt, your questions, and your unbelief to Him and watch what He does. #FaithInAction
In this episode of The VetMed Mind, hosts Shawn McVey and Rachel Teichberg sit down with Aaron Shaw, whose mission is to help veterinary professionals build durability for the long haul. As founder of the Vetspan Collective and VP of Operations at Canine Arthritis Resources and Education, Aaron blends clinical science with real‑world, clinic-ready strategies that go far beyond “eat better and exercise.”Together they explore the often-overlooked physical toll of vet med, static postures, awkward restraint, heavy lifting, repetitive strain, and how these stressors compound emotional burnout and decision fatigue. Aaron makes the case for preparing like athletes do: strength training, mobility work, and smart ergonomics that make practice “harder than the game,” so the workday feels more manageable. You'll get practical, immediately usable tips:Break-room nutrition swaps to avoid sugar crashes (think Greek yogurt, fruit + nut butter, cheese sticks, pre-made wraps)Simple culture shifts and buddy systems to gamify movement and accountabilitySafer lifting, hinging, and posture cues that protect backs, shoulders, and handsSleep hygiene you can start tonight: screen curfews, cooler rooms, darker spaces, and intentional wind-down routinesAaron also shares how the Vetspan Collective community offers videos, PDFs, and toolkits, plus deeper-dive courses and coaching for clinics ready to lead a wellness culture change. This episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success focuses on a familiar challenge in veterinary medicine: maintaining proper nutrition during long, unpredictable workdays. As clinic schedules fill and breaks become limited, meals are often replaced with quick, convenient options.Cohosts Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, and Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, discuss how those daily choices can affect more than energy levels, including cognitive function, client communication, and team interactions. The episode also outlines practical approaches to help veterinary professionals build more consistent eating habits in a busy clinical setting
A lot of us know how to talk about faith, but James 2 says real faith shows up in real steps. If our faith never moves our hands, our calendar, our relationships, or our habits, then it's not faith, it's noise. This week we're done being spiritual commentators. We're putting faith into motion. #FaithInAction
Veterinary medicine can take a toll on the body and mind, especially during long, physically demanding clinic days. In this episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success, hosts Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, outline the 5 levers of durability—5 practical upgrades veterinary professionals can begin incorporating into their daily routines for longer, more sustainable veterinary careers. Drawing on Shaw's concept of “Vetspan,” the conversation covers protecting the spine during long hours on the floor, fueling the body to avoid midshift energy crashes, and resetting the nervous system between appointments.
Your feelings are real, but they are not reliable. Anxiety, shame, anger, and fear will try to sit in the driver's seat, and if we let them, we will keep crashing. Hebrews 11 says faith is evidence when we cannot see and an anchor when emotions wobble. This week we stop being led by what we feel and we start being led by who God is. Take one obedience step and tell somebody. #FaithInAction
In this episode of The Resilient Vet Podcast: Mind and Body Strategies for Success, hosts Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, discuss the impact of catabolic energy on veterinary teams. Edwards explains that the exhaustion many veterinary professionals feel is often tied less to their workload and more to the breaking-down, draining nature of catabolic energy. Although useful for short-term survival, this state becomes a primary driver of burnout when it becomes a long-term default.
We all make plans. We chase goals. We build our own version of the future. But sometimes God steps in and interrupts everything. In Acts 9, Saul is headed one direction with confidence and momentum, and Jesus stops him cold. What felt like a disruption was actually grace. This message reminds us that God's interruptions are not punishments. They are invitations to a better path. #FaceToFace

Most of us carry guilt we don't know what to do with. We hide it, minimize it, or let it quietly define us. In John 4, Jesus meets a woman buried under shame and does something unexpected. He tells the truth without condemning her and offers grace without conditions. This message reminds us that Jesus doesn't expose us to shame us. He exposes us to heal us. #FaceToFace
In this episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success, hosts Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, discuss how physical and emotional preparation before shifts can help veterinary professionals become more resilient in their careers. They explain that resilience is not a "switch" one flips, nor a product that can be bought. Rather, it is a skill set developed through intentional physical and emotional warm-ups before a shift even begins. They also explore the concept of the “veterinary athlete”: The idea that surviving the physical and emotional demands of a long shift requires the same kind of intentional warm-up and training an athlete brings to game day. To help veterinary professionals build this resilience, Shaw and Edwards share tips and exercises that veterinary professionals can use to strengthen their mental and physical resilience in their roles.
Presence Over Performance confronts the pressure to pretend, polish, and perform in order to be accepted by God. In a world that rewards image and effort, this message reminds us that God is not impressed by who we pretend to be. He meets us as we are. Drawing from Exodus 33, we see that real change does not come from trying harder, but from slowing down and meeting God face to face. This message invites us to drop the masks, show up honestly, and discover the transforming power of God's presence.
“From Knowing About to Knowing Him” confronts the gap between information and transformation. In a culture full of spiritual knowledge but little daily surrender, this message challenges us to stop settling for facts about Jesus and start pursuing real relationship with Him. Through Paul's words in Philippians 3, we're invited to let go of what we've been trusting in and discover that true freedom, power, and life are found not in religion, but in actually knowing Jesus.
Veterinary medicine asks a lot of the people who practice it. To continue showing up for difficult cases, emotional clients, and challenging demands, many veterinarians learn to put on “emotional armor,” like humor and control. However, what happens when this “armor” stops protecting and starts wearing down? In this episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success, hosts Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, explore how emotional armor forms, when it becomes costly, and how veterinary professionals can find a healthier balance that supports their humanity and longevity in the profession.
In this episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success, hosts Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, delve into workplace culture and the role it plays in personal well-being. They explore how the well-being of each individual contributes to the collective culture and how that culture can either support or hinder the whole team. Shaw and Edwards discuss burnout and belonging, exploring what culture truly is, why it matters, and how veterinary professionals can cultivate environments where people and pets can thrive.
“Idols of a Nice Jesus” confronts the tendency to reshape Jesus into a version that feels safe, comfortable, and non-confrontational. Rather than rejecting Jesus outright, many of us unknowingly edit Him, keeping what comforts us and removing what challenges us. Anchored in Colossians 1:15–20, this message lifts our eyes to the real Jesus revealed in Scripture: fully God, Creator of all things, Sustainer of life, and Redeemer through the cross. A “nice” Jesus cannot transform us, but the supreme Christ can. This message calls us to surrender our false versions of Jesus and encounter the One who truly has the power to change our lives.
In Week 1 of The Real Thing, we confront the reality that Jesus was never meant to be a label we wear or an accessory we add to our lives. Using John 14:6, we see that Jesus does not simply show us a path. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Our culture encourages us to follow our own way, define our own truth, and search for life everywhere except God, but those paths always leave us empty. Real transformation begins when we stop treating Jesus as optional and start building our lives on Him. This message calls us to move from religious association to daily relationship by choosing Jesus as our foundation.#TheRealThing #KnowGod
“We all know that burnout in [veterinary] medicine is really kind of an epidemic,” cohost Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, begins in this episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success. In this installment, Shaw and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, dig into why veterinary professionals continue to struggle with burnout despite the abundance of wellness information available.According to Shaw and Edwards, addressing burnout starts with identifying an individual's true “why,” recognizing what gets in the way, and shifting from gathering information to taking action in meaningful, personalized ways.
In this episode of The Resilient Vet: Mind and Body Strategies for Success, hosts Aaron Shaw, OTR/L, CHT, CSCS, and Jennifer Edwards, DVM, ACC, CPC, ELI-MP, delve into the concept of “VetSpan,” a term coined by Shaw, that describes the years veterinary professionals can thrive in their careers.
Your generosity is building something. In Week 3 of our Everyday Altar series, we're learning that worship is so much bigger than singing, serving, or even showing up. Worship is the way you live. It's the way you love. It's the way you give. Paul tells us in Philippians that generosity isn't just kindness — it's a “sweet-smelling sacrifice” rising to God Himself. That means your giving is not just kindness; it's worship. This week we're choosing to give like God is our provider, our source, and our reward.
Your work is building something. In Week 2 of our Everyday Altar series, we're discovering that worship isn't just a song you sing, a service you attend, or a spiritual moment you feel. Worship is the way you live, the way you show up, the way you work. Paul tells us in Colossians that whatever we do, we are to do it as unto the Lord. That means your workbench can be a worship bench. Your office can be an altar. Your shift, your schedule, your everyday grind can bring glory to God in a way you never realized. This week we're choosing to work like Jesus is our supervisor, our strength, and our source.

Most people receive blessings and keep moving — but one turned back. “The Gratitude Gap” is a reminder that gratitude is more than saying thank you. It is remembering what Jesus saved us from and choosing to turn our lives back toward Him. In a world rushing forward, this message challenges us to slow down, recognize God's hand in our story, and respond with intentional gratitude that transforms how we live. Don't be part of the nine. Be the one who returns.
Tonight we wrapped up our series This Changes Everything with a powerful truth — you are never alone. When you gave your life to Jesus, He didn't just forgive you or free you. Christ is in you, and that changes everything. #ThisChangesEverything #NeverAlone #UnionWithChrist #CedarPointRecovery
We all serve something. Sin promises freedom but only leads to chains. The good news? Jesus didn't come to loosen the chains—He came to break them. The price for your freedom was paid in full by His blood. You don't owe sin anything anymore. Stop living like a prisoner when the door's already open. Live free—you've been redeemed.#ThisChangesEverything #PaidInFull #CedarPointRecovery #Redeemed

God didn't just save you from something—He brought you into something. Through Jesus, you've been adopted into the family of God. You don't have to live like a spiritual orphan anymore, striving for approval or wondering if you belong. You've been chosen, loved, and welcomed home. You have a Father who delights in you and a family that walks with you. So stop living like you're on the outside looking in—pull up a seat at the table. You belong here.#ThisChangesEverything #FamilyForever #CedarPointRecovery #AdoptedByGrace
You don't have to be who you were. In Jesus, you are made new. The things that used to define you — the mistakes, the shame, the labels, the addictions — they don't have the final word anymore. When Christ steps into your story, He doesn't just clean up your past; He gives you a brand-new identity. The old life is gone, and a new life has begun. You can stop living like the person you used to be and start walking in the freedom, purpose, and grace that only come from being made new in Him.#ThisChangesEverything #StoryChanged #CedarPointRecovery #NewCreation
Most of us spend our lives trying to prove we're enough—working harder, doing more, hoping to earn approval. But the gospel flips the script. You don't have to perform for God's acceptance; Jesus already declared you righteous by grace through faith. You're not working for approval anymore—you're living from it.#ThisChangesEverything #NotGuilty #CedarPointRecovery #GraceOverPerformance

Repentance is not about staying stuck in guilt—it's about walking in God's grace.
